Really, really impressed by this location. I visited for the first time on July 3, the night of Red White and Boom. While I wasn't looking forward to the crowds, my experience at BrewDog was fantastic. The server was pleasant and helpful with her food and beer suggestions and just a joy in what had been a rough day for me. Excellent draft beer selection. I LOVE sours as anyone who has read my brewery reviews knows, and this place had at least four on tap. I tried two whose names escape me, and they were both delicious. My partner loves hefeweizens and they had one of those on tap that was good as well. While neither of us got the BrewDog beers, our friends gave high praise to those as well, and especially popular seemed to be Elvis Juice. We split the Fast Joe burger which was delicious as well. Service gets a 5+/5 The cell tower signals were blocked given all the traffic in the area and we were unable to get a Lyft home with our cell service, so we stopped back by BrewDog after walking around trying - and failing - to find service to ask our server if we could use their wifi and she was quick to give us the password and make sure we had a ride home. Came here for a happy hour event after a conference and it was a pretty cool place. As an out of towner, I'd definitely come back and hang. Service was great. Beer was great. Food was great. Atmosphere was great. Rooftop scene was great. Downstairs scene was great and dog friendly. I had their Goggle Fogger beer and it was wonderful for a semi muggy night. Refreshing Hefe Weizen. I ordered their barbacoa tacos and fries. I love tacos, and being from Texas I wasn't sure how they were going to do their barbacoa. They did a pretty damn good job. It was definitely more tender juicy brisket tasting and marinated super spicy. If you can't handle heat, don't order these tacos. I loved them and they paired really well with my beer. I had a bite of my friends cauliflower wings, those were delish. I also had a bite of my friends burger sliders, those were delish too. OK so I have to admit...I really am turned off by any type of "brewery" because I picture a place with a limited selection of craft beers, no food, loud noise and too many people. There are also so many breweries popping up around Columbus lately that I've had to ask myself if it's become trendy to just start your own brewery? Is it a fad? I also prefer wine over beer, so when my friend wanted us to go to BrewDog for Happy Hour one night, I was skeptical. However, I ended up really liking it!! It's got more of a restaurant vibe with lots of seating options (a regular bar, communal high top tables, spacious booths). We opted for a booth which was perfect for the four of us. It could easily sit six. I also heard awesome things about the rooftop, but never made it up there that night due to an event they were holding up there. However, it also poured that night, so the people from the rooftop swiftly made their way downstairs. Unlike what I anticipated, this place has a ton of beer options. I had a tough time deciding what I wanted, but opted for the Clockwork tangerine. A fruity IPA which was right up my alley! I was also very pleased that they had food options as well. Their happy hour food menu is pretty limited, but I was pleased to see a burger and fries (my fave meal!) included for only $8! I was sold! One of my friends got the hummus and another got the cauliflower wings. My burger and fries were okay. The burger essentially is two thinner patties and I thought it was weird that one patty was really pink in the middle and the other one wasn't. So overall, average meal, but for $8, I was okay with it. The big winner was the cauliflower wings that my friend shared with us. YUM! They tasted so good and I loved the buffalo sauce they use! Couldn't even tell the difference between those and normal boneless wings. I highly recommend getting those! As for the beer, I enjoyed it and was pleased that they had multiple draft sizes available. When I finished my 16 oz, I asked if I could have another, but half the size and they offered up a 8oz, which was the perfect sized follow up! Service was kinda blah. I felt like our waitress didn't love her job and wasn't the most personable. And when we were done, I kinda got a vibe, she wanted us out of there. So there is work to be done on the staff here. All in all, I shouldn't have stuck my nose up at this place, because I did end up enjoying it. The ambiance is great. Not loud at all (on a Wednesday evening), the food options were good, lots of drink options and great decor/interior. I recommend this place and definitely would go back! read more

Love this new spot! Franklinton has so many new places popping up which is so exciting! We came in for the grand opening to check out the location and roof top patio. They were a little behind on getting it all ready, but the rooftop was open that evening. What a great spot to enjoy a drink! They allow dogs upstairs and have lots of great seating available. We have now been back again and service is excellent, management is fantastic and the space is awesome! Food wise we have tried the wings, hummus and cauliflower wings- all delicious, but I LOVED the cauliflower wings! We also love that this is located only about two blocks off of the bike path, so it's a great stopping point for us during our home rides. read more

The so called cheese plate had 3 small pieces of cheese, 7 grapes, a bunch of bread and crackers,a few olives, mustard and 2 lonely mini cornichon halves - $9. The Kofta burger, $14, was small and dry. Why? Because you can only order it medium well. No seriously, our server told us they only cook their burgers medium well. For anyone who knows me, they know I absolutely LOVE Brewdog. I mean, I even have a Brewdog tattoo which nets me 20% off at Brewdog for life! Brewdog Franklinton does NOT disappoint and the inside has a similar vibe as the rest of the other locations if you have visited any of them. No tv's, board games, social interaction is what they encourage here and it's quite refreshing to just get caught up in conversation with all your friends. It also seems like everyone who visits Brewdog is just such a nice person. I have run into so many incredibly nice people at Brewdog who just enjoy drinking beer and hanging out. Not to mention the employees are all very nice and welcoming as well. Onto what you all want to know about though, the patio! OMG the rooftop patio is NICE! It is a very big patio with lots of seating, an upstairs bar and can be accessed from either inside or outside. It has a partial covering over about a quarter of the patio but the rest is open. They have a firepit as well which i will definitely be taking a seat next to in the fall when it's cooler out. I also noticed when walking inside to go down the stairs that they have a bucket of umbrellas and blankets for when it gets cold out. Their beers are really good and I enjoy almost every beer I have had of theirs. My only complaint is when they have "experimental batches" on their board, there is no way to know if that ever gets turned into a mass produced beer and no way to give feedback on the beer which sucks because most of the experimental beers I have had have been the best ones I have had from Brewdog! Overall, a great vibe, welcoming people, AWESOME beer, and a good time! Highly recommend giving any of their locations a visit, but especially this one! read more

I am catching up on reviews, so this is out of date, but it doesn't change my mind. It has nothing to do with covid. I kills me to have to give a sad score to a brewery from Scotland. I love love Irish and Scottish beers.....with that said, this place has no amber and dark beers. How does a scottish brewery not even have a scottish ale? I had light beers and IPAs. Visited the Canal Winchester location to celebrate my birthday. The worst dining experience I have ever had. The food was excellent and the drinks were alright but the staff and service were terrible. We started off with one waitress who gave off the vibe that we were an absolute burden to her. It took forever for her to even arrive at our table to take our drink orders. At this point I thought to myself "Hey maybe they're busy or understaffed. No biggie." The part where this opinion changed was that my mother was disrespected. My mother planned the whole dinner for me as a celebration and was so excited to challenge the waitress to rock paper scissors for a chance to win a free dessert. For those that do not know, this is something Brewdog does for fun and is actually written on the menu. Well when my mother brought it up to the waitress, the waitress responded "Right now? Why would you do that right now?" with a bunch of attitude and it kind of ruined the whole evening. She made the whole thing about herself instead of just doing her job and encouraging the customer to enjoy themselves and the fun things their restaurant offers. Food orders took forever but the food was excellent. We were barely checked on and when we were it was by a different staff member each time. Every single one looked miserable and treated us like a burden. At the end of our meal our first waitress must have noticed how displeased we were because she offered us about 5 plates of free food with the excuse that our table is just far from her other tables. My meal was paid for by my family as a "happy birthday" but if I was paying, I would not have tipped and this is a big deal as I always leave a 20% minimum tip. My dad even joked you could not get drunk there if you tried because the service was so slow. I was only able to have 1 beverage and we were there for around 2 and a half hours. I have been to other Brewdog locations and have been treated excellent so I don't know what this location's or staff's issue is. Will not be going back to the Canal Winchester location if I can help it. read more

I. Love. BrewDog. We were so excite that BrewDog Franklinton started serving brunch that we were the first ones in on the first day of brunch, and we were not disappointed. The Scottish Breakfast drew me in and kept my butt smack dab in that seat until my plate was clean! Black pudding sausage, baked beans, bacon, mushrooms, and an egg (mine fried- as always). With my brunch, I had to have the Choco Libre, because who would want a Mexican-spiced hot chocolate infused imperial stout to go with their big ole breakfast! Chef Will took the time to stop and chat with us about our meals, being the first ones in. He asked us about the flavors of our meals and our honest opinions. He even took off my friend meal because he wasn't happy with how her pancakes came out, there was an issue with a shipment and he had to substitute an ingredient. Service was poor and food was worse. Four of us went, bar servers were not friendly. 11.00 for a cheap moscato? Food was 20 bucks. 3 onion things 2 pieces of cauliflower and 2 small order of fries and this cucumber mess. This all cost 20 bucks. All of us were over priced and quality sucked. Manager happened to come out and asked us how our meal was, we were honest, she said she'd take some off( not an issue) we can afford it, never did. BrewDog in Franklinton is an easy walk from our house and a regular stop when the weather is nice, with the open front and outdoor seating. We've been slow to start going out and prefer outdoor or open air venues for safety, so this past Saturday, we made our way there for dinner. The host and servers were masked and as friendly as ever, and there was sanitizer on the tables, so we felt comfortable staying and ordered food and drinks. While everything tasted good, especially the buffalo cauliflower sandwich, as we were leaving, we realized several kitchen workers were NOT wearing masks. I know they can be hot and uncomfortable, but in today's environment, this is a must - and what we've seen at other restaurants we've visited. Very cool brewery! Arrived early in the Columbus area for a concert and decided to check out the breweries in the area. BrewDog was one of four breweries we stopped at. Walking into the lower level you have a more modern vibe and full restaurant. We didn't eat but the food looked amazing! We decided to head upstairs to their rooftop patio and glad we did. It had a beautiful urban view with an awesome bar made out of an old box car! The upstairs had a bit more urban-rustic feel. Now on to the most important part - the beer! They had a large variety of beers from ales to IPAs. Everything we tried was delicious! Mh husbands favorite was the Punk IPA which seemed to be one of their classics. This is a great hang out. There is outdoor seating with picnic tables and a roof top bar. It was really refreshing to see people interact and talk and see a group playing a game of giant jenga. Not a smile or grin from the waitress. I was overly polite in effort to facilitate. Ordered 10 wings. Asked for flats only. This is not an unreasonable request. Waitress told me they "don't do that". I said are you sure? Any way you could ask? I'll gladly pay more. She asks, the kitchen says no. The amount of time we spent on this could have been easily solved by the waitress (Gwyn) slipping a word in. It takes 5 seconds to grab 10 flats instead of drumsticks. In retrospect, I should have conceded to order 20 wings, only ate the flats, and paid for half in cash - writing that I ordered 10 flats. They asked if I wanted blue cheese or ranch. I had the best experience at Brew Dog. The Bloody Mary was excellent and my avacado toast was huge, filling, and delicious. Our server was excellent as well! Sometime with restaurants you never know what you are going to get, but I cannot recommend this location more. DISCLAIMER - I am a Brew Dog "Punk" and own one share of stock in the company. I fell in love with the Dog after my first visit to Canal Winchester and had to buy in. They have two locations around CBus now - the one in the Short North is small and cool, but here in Franklinton it gives you more of the vibe that the brewery gives off - more metal/industrial. This was my first time to this location - was coming back to town from Cincy and it was right about happy hour. Convinced her to join me from her office downtown, it was a beautiful Monday afternoon and we should have gone upstairs to the rooftop bar (more later). Right now the beer of choice for me is Elvis Juice - a fruity IPA, not real bitter and goes well with food. (Can't remember what she had - something wheat and fruity, I think it was a guest tap.) We split two apps - the charcuterie was great but the cauliflower wings were very unique - florets in wing sauce! A little hot for me but I ate them anyway, and she loved them. Great service - 4 beers and dinner ran about $45 before tax and tip. Walked up to the rooftop bar before leaving and discovered the place I want to sit next time - or if someone would like to plan my upcoming birthday party there that would be great. read more

Me and my family went in to Brew Dogs for lunch. We were told to sit anywhere we liked. We picked a booth and the greeter came and gave us water and told us a server would be with us. There wasn't a lot of people there but it took 15 min for the server to acknowledge us. They made my sisters food 3 times and messed it up each time so she no longer wanted any food and was told she had to pay for it anyway. After speaking to a manager she also told us that she would still have to pay for the food that they messed up and she never took one bite out of the food. Such an awesome place! Came here for brunch on a Sunday with a group of 6 and sat at a booth. It wasn't too crowded and we didn't have to wait at all for a table! I ordered the draft cider which had tangerine in it and it was amazing! Then I ordered the sweet potato burger and mentioned I didn't want cheese on it, and the waitress asked if I was vegan and then proceeded to tell me that the bun for the burger wasn't vegan, but that she would check with the chef on making something completely vegan just for me! The chef hand delivered the most delicious pancakes I've ever had in my life. The plate had a layer of crunchy peanut butter, topped by 3 large orange-walnut pancakes, with a gold dipped orange slice and caramelized bananas on top!!! everyone at my table wanted to try them as well, and they agreed they were the best pancakes they've ever had (yay for non-vegans enjoying vegan food!!!! ) If I lived in the area, I'd definitely frequent this place because their service was top notch and they went above and beyond in accommodating us. read more

Highly recommend. We started our night off to a bad start, we had reservations for beer school which were canceled due to beer school teacher quitting. I've been here a few times before, even held a small event here, and I had enjoyed it. However, was there recently and it's not the same place. Service was horrible. Our sever didn't seem to know menu well. Was not concerned when there were some issues with our food and couldn't seem to be bothered with us. They were not very busy and we were there early in the evening. Several items we received were not as described on the menu. Food was average or below since it wasn't as listed. Cool place but there a lot of neat places now to be outside and take your dog if you want or with rooftops. Experienced rooftop yoga at BrewDog with my sister a few weekends ago, and we had the best time! I've been to the Franklinton location for a HH before, but this was my first time on the roof. Super cool views, especially as we started our yoga practice before full sunrise, so got to see the morning come together over the city. The yoga class was awesome - I usually write off "event" yoga classes as a less than stellar workout, but our teacher worked us! I loved the class and her ability to connect with each of us as she taught. Truly could tell she had a passion for what she does and wanted us to each get something out of the class. Well done! Not only was the class great, but it was followed by a complimentary brew and brunch buffet. Despite my hesitance with getting the Aloha due to it's 11.0% ABV, I'm so glad I did. It tasted like an almond joy beer, with the milk stout base complimented with coconut, coffee, and chocolate flavors. So rich and decadent, and so worth trying! My sister got on of the visiting breweries' sour beers - for a non-beer lover, she actually really enjoyed it! We appreciated that they offered more than just their own brews to provide more of a variety. The brunch buffet was simple, but still tasty. We were pleasantly surprised to see sunny-side up eggs rather than the standard scrambled eggs that frequent buffets - a refreshing change. The eggs were complimented with breakfast potatoes and thick-cut toast, perfect for dipping! A little surprised to not see meat on the buffet, but not a huge loss at all. There was a beautiful fruit salad (also not a frequent flier on breakfast buffets) that we adored - including starfruit and dragonfruit, we definitely had our fair share! Kicking off with an excellent yoga class and followed by a lovely brunch and brews with a view, my sister and I truly enjoyed our AM at BrewDog. Went for Wings Wednesday Happy Hour and despite being one of only a few tables in there initially, the service was really lackluster. It never got particularly busy, but almost everyone who worked there was moving at half-pace and seemed irritated to be there. The food was just okay and is overpriced for what you get. I got a chicken sandwich and one drink and my bill was like $33. Also, no one in my group received happy hour pricing, so we all overpaid based on that alone. I have been here a few times for drinks only since they opened, so was holding off to write my review until I had a chance to dine. This is definitely a 5 star venue - really cool upstairs outdoor bar/patio, ground-level patio, and a surprising amount of space for seating given the compact building. The beer is what you've come to expect from BrewDog; solid and consistent with a decent variety of styles. They've usually got a pretty great guest draft list as well. I have dined several times at the Canal location, and really enjoyed everything I have tried, so I was surprised to be completely underwhelmed by my meal last night. Two of our party ordered the Elote Dog, and while the hot dog itself was tasty, the corn topping didn't really taste like anything. The side dish of chipotle mac 'n cheese was as if noodles were dusted with chipotle powder (slight heat, but no other flavors or cheesiness). I had a smaller size of the summer vegetable salad, and it was basically a giant pile of green beans, potatoes, and tomatoes tossed in vinaigrette. There were maybe 3 pieces of lettuce and no egg. It was a very generous portion though, so I'll give them that. My side of fries was over-fried. The giant pretzel we shared was great, but the beer cheese dip looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for several hours. Maybe this was just an "off" night for the kitchen, but for the prices paid for the food here I was expecting more flavor and precision.
