Great bagel breakfast sandwiches! Fresh egg, choice of cheddar or American cheese, bacon or sausage on a new York style everything bagel. It was just salty enough, crunchy on outside and soft on the inside. Plus I got a last second bakery item -good size gooey cinnamon roll-freshly made that morning. I recommend. And coffee was good too. I don't remember the kind of coffee they serve but it was a good roast, and they offer many coffee syrups to add. Little pricey for egg sandwich... Adorable little breakfast and coffee spot. They have a large selection of breakfast bagel sandwiches, pastries and coffees. With a great outdoor seating area with chalk to draw on the tables, this is a great spot for friends, families and even dates. The staff is really warm and welcoming, and was patient with our big group. The only thing I would have liked was if they could make their sandwiches into wraps or platters, but everything else was amazing! We went twice in our two days staying nearby. read more

I enjoyed my breakfast here. I ordered "The Hippie" and "RedEye." I was pleased that they had a healthy option on the menu. For "The Hippie", they used fresh berries and homemade yogurt. Wow! What a nice local place for a quick bite! Hubby and I stopped by after a long line elsewhere and were pleasantly greeted. Everyone that came in seemed to be regulars. We had 2 bagel sandwiches (the Brewed) with bacon which were tasty and hubby really enjoyed the dark roast coffee. For tea lovers the tea selections are loose leaf and packed/brewed in the spot which was nice. Loved the fall decorations and ability to eat outside too. Inside was 'rustic Maine'. We bought a place up here midsummer. I've gotten coffee here in the past and it's good. Iced coffee even better. Right now I'm asking myself "is it me? Is this normal behavior from staff. We went this morning. BF got a sandwich. I ordered a bagel. Couldn't decide what to put on it, so I asked for half cream cheese, half butter. "I'm sorry. We don't do that". What??? Then I asked her to give me butter and cream cheese on the side. She said "I'm sorry. I can't do that. Our butter is melted " So I proceeded to ask if I could have butter on half and cream cheese on the side. "No, sorry. Our cream cheese is homemade and very good. I highly recommend that". Really kid? I recommend that you take a class in customer service. It would have taken less time to do it than discuss it. It was a very simple accommodation. The coffee here is great and so is the service. This was a regular stop on my way to the beach. The homemade yogurt with fresh lemon and blueberries was delicious. I also sampled the bagels, cream cheese, muffins, and scones. Everything was tasty and fresh. The chicken salad was especially good. Definitely recommend that you give it a try! read more

Cute little place on the side of the road. We went when it was raining and they have some indoor seating but also tables outside. Great latte and bagel breakfast sandwich. Surprised to see they also have burgers on the menu since it had more of a coffee shop feel. read more

Unfortunately, it seems little business *might* be closed. They did not answer their phone when I called to be sure they were open on Mondays at 11:30 and there was no voicemail message set up stating their hours. I double-checked the hours online to be sure I read them correctly (I did) so drove over anyway thinking they were just busy and couldn't get to the phone. Upon arrival, the place was dark and the closed sign was visible, although there were a couple people inside. If the hours have changed, would be good to activate the phone message stating as such. Do not drive by this wonderful eatery! Stop and order a delicious specialty breakfast sandwich (farm fresh egg!) on an outstanding (fresh) bagel or try one of their homemade cake breads or muffins. The hot or iced coffee is tasty. You will not be disappointed!!! Locally owned and locally sourced with very friendly staff...skip the greasy spoon and the crowds up and down the street...if there's a line here it's because it's super yum and no worries the line moves fast. Really delicious bagels! I didn't give 5 stars because they are a little pricey. We got three bagels and three basic beverages and it was $25. The specialty bagels are clever and very tempting (French toast bagel, cream cheese, honey and almond?! Yum!). I also really enjoyed my iced coffee with soy. Had a great large iced coffee on my way out of town on a very hot July 4th. Stopped in 'cause I loved the name - and enjoyed my selection.

So this must be "the spot" for locals to get breakfast and coffee. Brewed is really not that great.. I have given this place not one, but two chances to "wow" me and should not have given them the second chance. Last July, I purchased two pies from here on my way to a family reunion. The woman behind the register told me they had just come out of the oven. When we cut into them at the reunion they were RAW AND MOLDY! Almost like they had used apple pie filling that was just about to turn and froze it, then thawed it and cooked it. My family thought it was apple raisin pie!!! The other pies (which was blueberry) filling was raw and bottom layer of pie crust was raw too! So, the next day we called and told them about how embarrassing it was to bring raw/moldy pies to our family reunion. And they gave us a $50 gift card... Which I thought was generous.... Until this past July. In July, we went back to use our gift card. We purchased: a dozen bagels, two containers of cream cheese and half a dozen pastries. The total: $55!!! Now I know why they were so generous with the gift card amount. I tried both a bagel and pastry. Bagel was pretty ok (how can you mess up a bagel?) Pastry was dry, and didn't taste fresh at all. read more

Stopped here for breakfast with my husband on our third morning in Maine, and wish we'd known about it sooner! Being from NJ, we weren't sure the bagels would be as good as the ones we get at home, but they absolutely were! I had the John the Fisherman sandwich, which is smoked salmon with fried egg and cheese. I substituted chive cream cheese for the cheese. It was fantastic! I forget what my husband got the first day, but he followed my lead on the following morning and got the same thing. The lattes were superb; truly the best espresso drink I've had in a long time! I'm still thinking about it every time I have coffee. But better than the food and drinks were the staff. We were taken aback by the friendliness of Mainers in general, but the people here are some of the sweetest individuals I've encountered anywhere. The young woman (who I believe is the owner) and young man who were working there were genuinely nice and happy--a pleasure to interact with, especially first thing in the morning! Hervey, the cook, was very nice, as well, and his skills in the kitchen were much appreciated. We can't wait to go back next time we're in Maine (and much more often when we eventually move up there)! read more

This is a daily stop every morning when were in Wells. Home Brewed Coffee is great and iced has many flavors. Bagels are good and breakfast sandwiches are very good. Bakery has many options along with homemade daily salads and specials. Prices are good for coffee quality. read more

Okay for what it is. Some baked goods, a range of bagel options, a few breakfast plates. Excellent for tourists, and I'm sure that is the focus group since this establishment is open for the Maine spring/summer rush. Go elsewhere if you're looking for table service. I had the huevos rancheros, and really wanted a side of tortillas, or at least toast, to mop up the remnants on my plate...but, I didn't want to stand in line mid-meal to re-order. Speaking of tourists, if you opt to dine inside, you'll likely have the fat, sweaty bee-hinds of tourists in your face as they queue up to order while you attempt to enjoy your selection, unless you grab a seat on the wall opposite the counter. TL:DR -- good for a bagel and coffee drink to-go for the tourist and/or local who wants a change from the Mighty Dunkin, but not so much if a regular served-breakfast-with-coffee-refills is on your mind. read more

Love the coffee and goodies at Brewed Awakenings. Stopped in over July 4th weekend and had coffee and a pumpernickel bagel with veggie cream cheese. Bagel was just right, crunchy outside, soft inside, nice and fresh. Best part:: veggie cream cheese with CHUNKS of fresh red peppers, onions, cukes and carrots. Delicious.
