We stopped here for lunch today. The food was super delicious, and came to our table within minutes of ordering. I ordered the braised beef tostadas. They were packed with flavor. They have a good selection of beers. You can fill growlers here too. The only reason I'm giving it a four instead of a five is because they have a list of fantastic sounding salsas, but NONE of them are available choices when you order chips and salsa! The only salsa served with their chips is pico de gallo (which is my last choice and least favorite when it comes to salsas.) I really wanted to try the chipotle tomato and the habanero salsa, but they are apparently only available on certain menu items. Totally lame. I can be the only one bummed about this right??!! That being said, the chips taste homemade and the large order is huge! The pico tastes freshly made... but... eh I'm just not a pico fan. Sorry. I will definitely come here again, their entrées are delicious but I'll order the chips and guacamole to go with it next time. read more

First time here and it was such a cool place.. beer and great mexican food.. and amazing churros.. It's a first come first serve on seating so make sure you come at a decent time so your not standing around long. If you do come at a busy time I suggest getting a beer first until seats are available and then order food. The place was packed when we arrived but people seemed to rotate in and out pretty frequently. Customer Service was on point, Nachos were amazing, and the beer was of course great.. but again let me end my review with have a churro or 10 if you want. :) So jazzed Tacoma has all these cool places popping up. read more

Our 1st time going. They have an excellent beer and cider selection, however the menu is complicated and the cashier taking the order has no patience for new customers trying to figure out the menu. We ordered 2 entree's, one order was wrong and did not have the rice and beans, but it tasted fine. Cashier was in no hurry to fix the order. The 2nd order - Rice was cold and hard, meat inside the taco was burnt. Again - Cashier was in no hurry to remedy the issues. The manager however got wind of the issue and brought us back out money for the food that was bad. He apologized profusely and gave us some churros for our problems. I probably would only stop back in if I wanted a Hard Cider or a beer but not for the food. read more

Cute lil building as you walk in . It's a self seated place which we figured once we were there and it was very self serving except when they serve your food so it was a lil weird at first but I don't mind . It was kind of a bummer that certain dishes aren't available with different meat options yet I was hoping to try the enchilada but it was Only available in vegetarian option oh well . The pine apple beer was amazing I suggest everyone try it if you like sweet drinks ! I ordered the el pastor pork I think that's what it's called in burrito option and Omg every bite was like heaven ! the meat chucks and every wrapped just melts in your mouth delicious ! The food here is extremely overpriced. You can get better tasting versions at one of the local taco trucks or restaurants, such as Taqueria El Sabor. They charged $8 for a small torta and $11.50 for three tacos with rice and beans. I ordered nachos that cost $13.50 and the pickled veg was diced so small as to be virtually undetectable. Yeah, they serve beer and the taco truck doesn't, but it's easy to get beer after a better meal elsewhere. read more

Stumbled across this place on Yelp, and I cannot thank you enough. Absolutely amazing food. My husband and I have been there twice in two weeks. We have had the quesadilla, the tacos, and the burritos. Along with the food they have a pretty great selection of beers and ciders as well as beer to go. Only downfall is the seating, which is limited and the line to order runs through the dinning area. We got lucky the first trip because there was no one in line and plenty of seating. The second trip we walked into a packed room with about 10 people in line and only 2 cashiers. Oh and don't forget to grab some warm Churros for dessert. read more

Yesterday I stopped in for breakfast and ordered a burrito. After about 45 minutes, I asked about it, and it turns out they forgot to make it--and I was the only customer for most of that time. The counter staff didn't admit it, and only said that it would be right out. The manager noticed, however, and was appropriately upset and apologetic. He said he would cancel the charge--which was considerate, but which I don't really care about. I would rather pay for a good product with good service. So I went back this morning and asked about a jalapeno-cheddar scone. They didn't have scones, but said they had jalapeno-cheddar biscuits. I agreed to that, Then the baker decided I couldn't have one because they were only for sandwiches. I went home and made breakfast. I like the idea of a "breakfast pub" in the neighborhood, and I would like to support it. I also liked the manager, and think he wants to do a good job. I think I'm going to give them a little break, however, to get their customer service up to speed. read more

Done trying to like this place. Have had mediocre food twice and now just went and got coffees. Ordered two "tall" coffees and was given two "short" coffees. The girl seemed clueless that a tall is 12oz and a short is an 8oz...pretty basic espresso knowledge. The coffee is warm and bitter. Too bad since it's within walking distance. Better off walking further up to Proctor for a decent cup of coffee. read more

Grabbed a cup of coffee and scone and hung out at Brewer's Row Sunday morning while waiting for a table next door. Fun place with a good vibe. My wife said her coffee was delicious and my Horchata Latte was fantastic. The food looked great and I was drooling over a chorizo biscuit at the table next to us. Can't wait to go back and dig into the food and will definitely get another Horchata Latte. Best cup of coffee I've had in a long time. Great looking selections and reasonable prices. read more

What a difference 4 months makes - this time the nachos were delicious. Various aspects of the dish seemed updated, and they were fantastic. Great atmosphere, great service - we'll be back. On a side note, I really respect that the staff was using the down time between customers (we were there during a slow time of day) to keep the customer areas clean and nicely arranged - one sign of a well functioning restaurant. read more

Oh how I WISH I could give this place 5 stars! The food is always really good and the service is fine, but I've had 1 problem pop up a couple of times. First though? The positives, because there are many! The food is INCREDIBLE. Fresh, flavorful, well balanced, it's delicious. My favorites are the burritos, both regular and breakfast. I have introduced friends to this place and they all love it too. Another favorite item is the jalapeno cheddar biscuit sandwich. Their chorizo verde is amazing so I recommend it on anything. Their salsas are all really good and my favorites are the salsa verde and the avocado crema. So now the reason it's 3 stars and not 5. The avocado crema. I have gotten to-go orders twice where by the time I got home and saw the salsas in natural light the avocado crema was brown, oxidized the entire way through and not edible. It tasted like it was old and oxidized. Now, I've also gotten to-go from there that was great! Fresh and lasted in the refrigerator until I finished the next day, so I can only assume these ones were older and had already turned when they were put in the bag. I brought it up a couple weeks ago and was told that they were going to fill the cups as they were ordered now to avoid this type of thing happening. However, I just had this happen again, so it looks like either that change wasn't made or the stuff they were pouring had passed it's prime. I get that avocado is tricky, and when it's good it's SO good, but it's just so disappointing to get something that shouldn't have been sent out. It won't dissuade me from going here again, but I really hope they sort out a better system so this doesn't happen. read more

Unfortunately, the dish washing area is open to the kitchen, and dinning area, so, I got the whiff of that funky steam from the dish washer, it penetrates the air, whew! For some reason people seemed to not have anything else to do after they eat, because they continued to linger? Good beer selection, what I selected, the dude says the chocolate milk? that was my clue not to get it. I did and didn't care for the chocolate milk beer, I prefer beer in my beer. Flavored beer's, WTF is going on, I mean it's beer, not soda, (that's a whole another subject, right?) I see a lot of reviewers gave 5 stars, really? it's not, but then again this is Tacoma, expectations are pretty low, not much of a food scene yet! Someone below mentioned overpriced in comparison to taco trucks -What does that even mean? This is a totally different experience, food is actually very reasonable (burrito & biscuit sandwich was $15'ish total), and its dine in. This was my first time eating at Brewers Row. I live in the neighborhood and I had heard such great things, I thought I would swing by and get something to go. I am sad to say I should not have. First, they didn't seem to mind that I waited over 30 minutes for my to go order. Second I had a steak taco and a chicken flautas. The steak was way over cooked hard, cold and dry. I was very surprised. The flautas were crispy but the chicken and potatoes inside were not tasty. I will give them another shot though.
