I love this new spot. Great addition to the Westhampton neighborhood, which is desperately in need of some updated spots. The place is clean fresh and bright with a hip ambiance. The menu had a great selection of small plates, creative twists on familiar dishes and great burgers and entree selection. We wanted to go for brunch so I made a reservation online, not knowing anything about this place. I make the reservation for 11:15am (as it was the first time slot available). We arrived at 11am to find out they do not open until 11:30am. I was a little annoyed but i should have checked the website to see their hours of operation. We waited until 11:30am and when we arrived back the manager was extremely apologetic and explained that he had actually argued with OpenTable that morning about the situation. Upon walking in I right away noticed the decor, The beakers, Periodic Table of drinks, clip board menus, it was all awesome. Each end of the room we sat in had benched seating with decorative throw pillows, which made it look and feel "homey". The bathrooms are extremely clean and fun! All of the walls are painted with chalkboard paint, and there is a bucket of chalk available for your drawing pleasure! I suggest taking FULL advantage. :) For drinks we ordered coffee (which came in a French press), a mimosa (which was absolutely perfect) and a blonde ale (I unfortunately cannot remember the name but it was amazing as well). We looked over the menu and I noticed they had "Flat Breads of the Day", the flat bread for that day was a BBQ chicken and apple flat bread, I figured we were in a new place, try something different, it was out of this world! For our entrees we ordered the short stack and the Skillet French Toast. The short stack was a little lack luster they tasted a bit plain and even the syrup I was given seemed to have no flavor, but the Skillet French Toast was brilliant. It came with some kind of cinnamon syrup that was so good I used it on my bland pancakes and it made them 5x better. The price was a bit high our bill was over $100 with tip but the food and drinks were pretty great all around. The manager, I believe his name was James, was VERY personable and informed us they will be opening another location in Port Jefferson in February which were so looking forward to going to. Overall, I love this place and would absolutely go again! My one suggestion would be to serve drinks in different kinds of beakers or have the Brewology logo on the glassware but that's just a suggestion and my personal opinion! read more

This is our go to place for burgers and great sandwiches. They start you off with a basket of huge pretzels with a mustard sauce. Really good. Menu has enough choices to satisfy every taste. Our grandkids love this place and always ask us to take them there. Very friendly staff and owner who comes around to every table making sure everyone is happy! They will take and honor reservations. That is good idea especially during the summer months when the place can get crowded. read more

Walking in I thought immediately that there was an old fashion bar type vibe. I came at happy hour with my siblings and we like to try new spots this was a great night out we ordered five dollar appetizers which was more than enough. We ordered the mussels, the calamari, the macaroni and cheese, onion rings and fries everything was superb and hot. We walked out full but still wanting more. We have gone to this place many times and its always good. We went a couple of weeks ago for a quick dinner I'll say a little after 5. This review isn't about the food or the service its about the noise. They must do some happy hour specials because the bar was packed. The hostess sat us on the other side near the front window but the place was so loud I couldn't have a conversation with my wife. We decided not to stay and when we told the hostess she said to us to loud I guess. We told her yes. This place is like being in a noisy train station. What a gem this place is. Stopped in around 6pm on a Friday and was able to get a seat at the bar with my husband after scouting the scene out for a minute or two. The decor is chic and has a chemistry theme behind it. Their beers come in beakers and the beers are listed in a periodic element table on the wall (as well as on the menu). The happy hour drink deal is super, you get a draft half off; for about $5. Happy hour doesn't include the flight but that's ok, I love the idea of getting to taste test a few. For $11 you get a sample of 4 different beers. For food we got the Brew frites, wings, and grilled cheese with tomato sauce. The Brew frites were outrageously delicious. It was basically thinly sliced fries, sprinkled with heaven sauce and some sort of pork belly peices, some other bits of heaven and was topped with an over easy egg. I would have never in my wildest dreams thought I'd enjoy such a concoction. Definitely a chill spot with some eclectic but yummy food and drink choices. read more

I was here about a week ago on the advice from a friend who I was heading out to my house in the Hamptons with. it's sort of tucked away in a shopping area, so you won't just stumble across this restaurant. This place is uber cool Large, but still have a nice, cozy-type of vice. We shared the frites / Brewology Style!, which were awesome. The plate was generous and super filling. The pretzels were also fresh and warm and delicious. I didn't order an entrée because I wasn't starving when we went, but I will be returning for sure. This is what I experienced on a Friday night around 7pm - This place was very busy. They even ran out of clean glasses. Their beer selection is good but not great for a beer aficionado. I did not eat anything because I just came from another place where I enjoyed a meal. The people next to me had the cheese board and the tuna tataki. They said it was tasty but I do not know them. The bar tenders are friendly although busy. No one asked me for a credit card to secure a beer. That is significant to me because there isn't that feeling of desperation on their part. They have a varied menu with items that are slightly expensive. It's not a place where you will get an inexpensive meal but it is a place where the menu is priced to pay the rent. Hidden in a shopping center, cozy well thoughtout interior. Definitely has a bistro-bar feel. Beer and cocktail menu is diverse. I had a beer flight, descriptions are on point for each beer. Wish I could have viewed what I picked as I drank different beers. Menu was limited (specials were St.Patrick theme) still easy to pick something tantalizing. Pretzels and mustard dip is a really nice touch to give customers. My 3 star rating is based on the shrimp po boy, it sounded amazing, but I was disappointed. The size for the sandwich was small and needed more sauce to bring the pickled veggies and shrimp together. The shrimp were large as well as the whopping size of the fries. Boyfriend had a burger (Br burger) it was cooked to specification, had good flavor, huge portion, and a bit of char flavor permeated the beef. We also shared the Mac and cheese, and we both hands down believe it better than our mothers combined. Why is the service so bad regardless If the restaurant is packed or a couple of tables. Been here a number of times. The pretzel was stale and the water tasted like dish water on most recent visit. The burgers were good and the shoestring crispy. The Brussels sprouts are hit and miss. For a $16 Burger, some service from the waitress would be nice. Not sure where to begin with this place. The place itself is very inviting, atmosphere is pleasant and the food is a very eclectic blend with nice flavors. We have visited in three separate occasions and the only complaint thus far has been the staff. We have been helped by two different waitresses on our three trips and both left our visits very unpleasant. The young blond girl seemed very friendly and bubbly at first and towards the end of our meal we figured out why. I'm not too familiar with restaurant policies or workings but as a small business owner myself I would never let my employees be drinking during there shift. She seemed to worry more about making sure the bartender made her drinks before ours and about the group of guys at the bar while we were being helped by the busboy more than her. We had the pleasure of this girl serving us twice, once during a brunch visit , which the food was amazing, and once in the evening and both times was pretty much the same situation. We suggest maybe not allowing employees to drink. The other waitress while def being more attentive was very in knowledgeable of the menu and we basically had to walk her through our service. We would have tried to ask to speak to some authority figure but it seemed that the best that they might be able to muster up was a 20 something year old. All that being said, we will definitely be coming back to this establishment because of its wonderful menu and specials and hope that something soon can be done about the service and staff. Last night I experienced the absolute worst service I have ever received at a restaurant. This being my first time at Brewology, it will no doubt also be my last. Last night was their big "$2.95 burger night" and we had a reservation at 9:15pm for 12 people. Here is an account of how our night went. 9:00pm - party shows up and heads to the bar for a drink. My friend checked in to let them know we were here and would be at the bar until our table was ready. Bartender was awesome, she quickly got our drinks, cashed us out and was friendly and smiley the whole time. 9:15pm - Friend goes to hostess to check on our table and was told "oh, it's been ready for a while." WTF? No one came to get us? Anyway, we all now go to the hostess to be seated and the hostess as just disappeared. We see our table so we go sit down. The hostess (I can see) watches us go sit down. 9:25pm - No one has come over to our table. We're all just sitting there. I go over to the hostess and ask if we can have some menus. She hands them to me. Gee, thanks. 9:30pm - Still no server has come over. I again go over to the hostess and ask if she can have our server come over so we can get started. 9:40pm - Server has come over and taken our entire order. He's given us water, taken everyone's order and now walked away. Ok, now we wait to eat. All good-not too bad yet. 10pm - Nothing. The server has never come back to check on us. No food yet. No ETA on said food. Nothing. 10:15pm - Nothing. Server still has never come back. It's now been over 30 minutes since we've seen his baby face. No food. No offer to get us more drinks. Our water has run out. Send help. Because it's been an hour since we sat down, and still no food, a few of us worry about our check. I go find the server and ask for the check for those of us that need to leave soon so that we can eat and go. He obliges, with an attitude, and doesn't say another word. 10:30pm - NOTHING. At this point, I'm getting hangry. The fact that this server has not even come over to say "sorry for the wait, can i refill your water or get you anything" is appalling. We have no food, no drinks. The well has run dry over here in the corner. 10:31pm - I, unfortunately, go ask for the manager. The guy stares at me with no emotion whatsoever while I tell him we are a little bit upset. I understand they are busy but we had a reservation for 12. This wasn't a surprise of 12 people showing up with no notice. I explain we'd like more water, more drinks and for some general customer service to keep us feeling good while we wait this ridiculous long wait for a burger. He doesn't apologize. He says "We're at full capacity. I'll go check on your food and have someone bring you water." 10:35pm - We get some water and get told by the server "your food will be out soon." One of our party (who paid already) has to leave and asks us to bag up her order when it appear. 10:45pm - We get our food brought out by a bunch of runners who have no idea what burgers they have and chaos ensues as they don't know which are cooked which way and try to find everyone their proper place. So now, we have our food. No one EVER comes back until right before I decide to leave about a half hour later. At that point (30 minutes after food) the server comes to take another drink order. You'd think that the manager would come over at some point and see how everything is going or if our food came out OK. Surprise-it didn't. A few people ordered their burgers rare. Rare should be seared on the outside with the inside all pink. Our friends had cold, raw meat on the underneath of their burger. No sear at all. Just raw meat. The one person who ordered their burger special (without cheese) received cheese. She had to wait while they went and fixed it. She asked for hers cooked medium rare. She received back the same burger back mere minutes later, with the cheese scraped off, and well done. Bravo. I finally left at 11:15pm. No manager had ever come to talk to us again (which should be standard practice when a customer is unhappy. Source: have been a restaurant manager and a server in the past). When I left, the manager was standing by the front door with his head down and texting on his phone. How did the food taste? It was fine. Not the best burger of my life. And I'm no stranger to gourmet having had burgers at Hubert Keller, BlackTap and others. Maybe if I offered to pay full price for my burger I'd have gotten it on time. But I'd go back and write a decent review if the service wasn't atrocious. As of now, I'll never go back. Advice for the restaurant? If you can't handle the heat, don't have $2.95 burger night. Space your reservations out if you know you can't handle that many people at once. Train your servers to not be rude and your management to give a sh*T about customer service. read more

Let me first start out saying I REALLY wanted to love this place..we live in the area and have nothing around worth going out to eat for. I stalked the menu online for weeks when it first came out so excited to go and try. Well this weekend I finally had the chance my husband and I went early Friday with the two kids. Loved the transformation of space (been to every old restaurant that failed here) and décor and the staff attire. I ordered a glass of wine (I know, I know BREWology) but with a pretty big choice of wines I would have hoped my waiter had some knowledge of them which he did not...also no pinot noir? The complimentary pretzel starter was great and a nice gesture to the amount of money I was about to spend on a small dinner. We ordered the mussels which was great and had a nice broth but two measly pieces of small bread which left a whole bowl of broth that ended up down the kitchen drain. My husband got the L.I cheese steak duck sandwich and he truly enjoyed it but it could of came with fries like the burgers because he was left still feeling hungry after a $28.00 sandwich. I ordered the chicken and waffles and was very excited to try but I did not like it at all...the dish was crying for some sort of salt or crispiness it was so bland in flavor. I really hate when restaurants try to stray so far away from what makes chicken and waffles good in the first place. The table behind us ordered it too and the man had the same complaint and didn't even eat his chicken. My two kids were offered wither chicken fingers or bowl of butter pasta (which I wish I would of known ahead of time were $12.00 each for small bowls of butter and macaroni) I think the best part of the meal were the desserts and if I ever came back it would be appetizer/dessert leave. We had the smores sundae and the chocolate waffles. This place has a manager that just stands there like he is all that's and a bag of chips but when I was there we had serval issues with under cooked food and poor service and not once did he come and ask us what was going on. I have had better service at Taco Bell, the music is way to load bad speakers but not worth going back. What a pleasant surprise to find this well styled Gastro pub in the middle is Speonk! Cheers to the decor-very rustic and 'brew themed'. The bathroom is pretty cool-chalkboard paint so you can play with the chalk. I was a bit underwhelmed by the 24 selection of tap beers; but I'm thinking since it is a newer restaurant they will surely expand. I love that for $11 you can try any four beers! (Hold on to a menu so you know what the number map means when you get it) The service was kind of slow, but very nice. For appetizers we tried the tuna which was really really really really good! (Wish they served more than 5 crackers with it). The salad was also pretty awesome. The beers were nice-my favorites were the Kuka and the kolsch. The main course was awesome-got the brew burger and it was different and delicious. they only serve it well done because there is pork and suggest no cheese-I would order it again but definitely split it! They should warn you that the chipotle ketchup is VERY spicy-and it is served on the side-I just suggest they recommend customers try It first and serve it with regular ketchup too. My friend ordered the marshmallow dessert and it was like walking on a bed of sticky gooey chocolatey heaven...I am still thinking about it days later!!
