I was in KC for a convention, and having already tried a BBQ place the day before, I decided on a burger. The burger I had, the Big Kahuna, was a limited time/seasonal option, and I thought it was good. The fries were a bit crispier than I like, but they were fine - just far too many. You could easily split between 2+ people. Also had an old fashioned, which was also quite good, though they should probably invest in some smaller glasses. It was kinda laughable in the one it came out in. Staff was fine - didn't have a lot of interactions with them. The prices and quality were what you'd expect out of a specialty burger place. I don't think families would get anything out of the place, but it's a good place for a burger and drinks if you're around there. read more

We went here for dinner. Started with the cheese curds which were amazing! Some of the best cheese curds we've ever had (we are from mn so we know cheese curds). I had the steakhouse burger with no bun and my husband had the new burger. We were both pleased with our food! The bartender, David, was very friendly and nice to us. I took a point off for the uncomfortable seats and I hated the bathrooms. It was a joint bathroom with separate stalls for each gender. The floor was concrete and then the chairs would squeak anytime anyone moved. There was an obnoxious drunk family constantly squeaking their chairs around. However, the food and drinks were great! Visiting here for work and got into town and wanted to go out for dinner. I looked around and found that a burger place sounded good. Started with a cocktail. I got the Rasberry Buck: Gin, raspberry, basil, ginger beer, and lime. It was delicious, and I had to make sure to pace myself so that I didn't just finish it all in a minute. I'd highly recommend it if you're a fan of anything to do with ginger beer, basil, gin, etc. I then got the Mushroom Swiss Burger, since if I'm at a new place, I like to try a good standby. Reader, I was not disappointed. It was tasty, with the garlic aioli adding a wonderful layer on top of the normal flavor of the beef, swiss, and mushroom. I got a KC Dunkel with the dinner, but I had to wait a bit for the beer, and that was the only real problem with otherwise excellent service. The waitress was super nice and even moved us when the group of early twenty-somethings that had bathed in cologne arrived (seriously smelled like one of them broke the bottle on their head). One entire side of the restaurant was reserved for a private party so there was not a lot of open seating. Overall it was fine. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. Oh and the parking- downtown KC seriously needs to do something about the this. Trying to find parking downtown is just atrocious. I probably won't go back here; it was just not special enough to warrant fighting traffic and spending 15 minutes finding parking that was not a mile away. If you are handicapped or incapacitated in any way, downtown KC is not the place for you. read more

I walked into BRGR on a Sunday afternoon and it was fairly busy. Once I was seated, the server quickly took my order I ordered the Funky Chicken no sauce with tater tots. The sandwich was amazing. Although the photo makes the burger appear plain, it is full of flavor and the cheese almost looks like an egg, but it's not. The bartender was very friendly and the drinks were great. Will absolutely be back! Came with friends for a double date and birthday dinner! We dined the night before the AFC championship game, and so power and light in the whole area was packed! However, our wait time was not as long as quoted, and we were sat rather quickly. It did take us a little while to get our drinks and food ordered, but it was very obvious they were busy, and so we were patient. I would not said that took away from our experience even the slightest, because anybody was a gracious heart Patel. Those servers were running around, working their booties off! The food was absolutely delicious! We started with the deviled eggs, which I would recommend 10 out of 10. We also had pickle fries and the bread to pickle ratio was perfect. Three of us ordered a burger and one of us a chicken sandwich and not one of us had a complaint. The vibe of this place was pretty chill. Seemed very forward thinking- they had a cool co-ed type bathroom with different sides and a shared sink which was unique. Service was 110% because i randomly had a bit of a 'bleeding cuticle' moment and the awesome lady at the bar *ran* to get a bandaid when my friend asked for one. That was very kind! Our waitress was kind and accommodating - made awesome drink recommendations. The staff had me at HELLO...I love polite, cheerful and accommodating folks when I'm dining out (and when I'm not for that matter). What a Phenomenal Choice. The sandwich was huge, juicy and oh sooooo delish! It had just the right amount of meat, dressing and kraut that I savored with each bite and chew. Umph... I can Still taste it. The salad was wonderful as well with freshness oozing from the vegetables, nuts and dressing. The mac & cheese portion was huge, enough for several meals and quite tasty. I had only one complaint (that I hesitate to share)...there were a few VERY annoying knats that flew around. This sounds bad and it was, but not enough to totally bash the place. BRGR has excellent service, best burger ever, needed a drink and was pleasantly surprised at the fair price on a double Glenlivet scotch, waitress was great and suggested the validation for 3 hours parking. I visited the power and light location at around 6:30 on a Wednesday evening. We were greeted promptly, seated, and drink orders taken. I ordered the "brown bag special" beer, which is basically "bartenders choice." At only $3.50, this can of beer was a deal. It turned out to be some sort of mango craft beer, and was pretty good. The drinks took right about 10 minutes to deliver, and our server was busting herself working the whole dining room--with the bartender and someone who appeared from management assisting. I ordered my burger medium, but it came out well done. Everything is ala carte, with no sides included with the burger. Compared with other fast-casual burger joints in the metro, BRGR offers some unique burgers at the expense of service, value, and order accuracy. read more

Was my most hyped pre-planned restaurant for our short trip. Burgers and Apps looked amazing. There was constant construction debris floating into our food and beverages as we sat outside. That is obviously outside the control of the restaurant and that does not effect this review. Our server was terrible. Was daydreaming about being home and we rarely saw her. When we paid, we had to wait 10+ minute for our credit cards back. We had to go inside and question what was going on only to be met by the host who had MAJOR attitude and gave us a lame excuse that one of our credit cards wasn't functioning right. Worked right everywhere else both before and after. The food was the main qualm. The cheese curds promised to be served with a chipotle ranch, but it was served with plain ranch. I'm not a 6 year old so it was underwhelming. I ordered my burger to be medium.. it was WELL DONE.. and the potato bun only detracted from the burger. We found this place for a fast lunch option after getting off the plane in KC. When we arrived we were a little worried as we had a party of 12 and did not know if they were able to accommodate. The disadvantage of this place is every thing is a la carte, and the items are not cheap. I ended up spending almost $30 with a burger, tots, and tip. The sweet potato tots were amazing and the burger was ok. Overall, the service was incredible, but the food was average for the price. My coworkers agreed that nothing was bad, it was just ok.
