Location was convenient for my hotel and I must say I like the decor. Staff was very friendly and welcoming, as well as helpful. Went with a signature burger that they had on the menu and everything looked delicious, however the burger could have been seasoned better. If I was to talk to the chef I would definitely let him know he could up the level of his performance with a little stronger seasoning hand. However overall it was a solid and great environment especially if you were going to go watch a sporting event, and centrally located in downtown Kansas City. Will definitely visit again but will probably order something else other than the burger that I ordered. read more

What a gem in downtown KC! We were in town for one night and needed to fuel up before going out and decided to check out BRGR! The place was bustling on Saturday night, and it's easy to see why. We managed to grab a table, get some beers and get food ordered. The orders seemed like they were out in a pretty reasonable time. The burgers were all pronominal, and the side orders of fries were more than enough. Also, some of the best sweet potato fries I've had at a restaurant! I concur with the negative reviews below. We had a large table and asked for split checks, but it didn't seem busy when we got in. We experienced terrible service. Food took over 30 minutes. Our initial drinks were sitting at bar for 20+ minutes after order, and didn't come until we asked about it. The Burger was fine, not great. No water refills on our side of the table. Second round of drinks didn't come, until after the checks. We don't want our drink we ordered 15 minutes ago after you already brought out checks. We rather leave and go somewhere else. Our split checks were mostly incorrect and had to be re-run. Waitress could have made a pretty large tip on our table, but instead decided not to provide much service. Fantastic food. The Fast-Cow Burger was absolutely perfect. Served on a large English Muffin the beast is legit. The house made onion parmesan rings were equally courageous and served with a special sauce. Prices are very reasonable and the customer service was fantastic. One of my favourite places that simply doesn't disappoint! I've been here so many times, and I love how diverse their options are. My husband and I went here a few weeks ago before seeing a movie. The hostess wasn't very friendly, but all of the other staff working that we dealt with were wonderful. We shared the funky chicken sandwich and "the combo" with tots, onion rings and fries. I recommend the tots and fries for sure, personally the onion rings were cut a bit to big for me. I've ordered to go and come into the restaurant now and both times have been mediocre. The first time I got a salad and it was just okay. The secind time I switched it up with the Fast Cow burger and it was still disappointing. It's a normal sports bar with lots of burgers and some salads. Drinks are okay. Staff and service are great. If you're KC streetcar hopping, this is a really convenient stop off the Power and Light district stop - just a few steps away. We were enjoying hopping on and off the free KC streetcar after enjoying KC, we were ready for beer, cocktails and a snack. BRGR looked like just the place - and it was! We decided to sit at the bar since we were snacking, then moving on. Our bartender was great. Their beer menu provided lots of options and my wife had the "B Cup" cocktail that she enjoyed. We saw from other Yelpers some great recommends for the truffle fries and tater tots. BRGR offers a combo of three which is a deal - so we went truffle fries, sweet potato tots and parmesan onion rings. All three had their strengths. Truffle fries had just the right amount of truffle. The sweet potato tots had like a cinnamon sweetness to them - delicious. The onion rings were okay, probably our least favorite of the three but huge. We only went for snacks so we didn't sample more of the menu but the vibe inside was great - they had tables inside with open windows to the sidewalk which looked great for a sunny day on a follow-on visit. I placed my order on Yelp/Chow hound at 6:54 pm. I parked and waited for my notification to show my order was ready at 7:15 pm. When it got to be 7:34 and the notification page still said my oder was in process, I went in to check on it and it had been ready for quite awhile. The host said that my extra items, napkins, tarter, ketchup were in the bag and I left. The extra items were there, except for the napkins, but the food is awful! The fries are cold, hard and old not just from getting cold, but flat out old and SALTY! Salty like the shaker opened up and poured all over the fries and fish. The fish is cooked perfect, just too bad it's so salty. Hence the 3 stars instead of 1. After tax and 20% tip my awful, salty, cold meal cost $25. This food here was very good that I got. I had the juicy Lucy and fries and I also have some of my friends deviled eggs . She said that her wedge salad was delicious but my other friend got the Southwest chicken salad instead there was too much dressing and she just wasn't a fan. I would go back for sure but one thing that was not great was the service. Our waiter was not attentive into over 25 minutes to bring us our waters. Not sure what his deal was but he was not good. Decent. I went during dinner time and got the Big Kahuna burger. I wasn't particularly impressed with the burger, if anything slightly disappointed. It is comparable to a burger you would get at Red Robin except more pricey and doesn't come with any sides. I did order the Combo to try out each of their onion rings, fries, and tater tots. The tater tots were very crispy but lacked any truffle flavor despite my ordering the truffle kind. Overall, I enjoyed the sides a lot more than I did my burger. read more

Came here for a casual work lunch, and I had a great time! The indoor dining area is well lit, but not super bright. It gives off a comfortable vibe with the pop music in the background. The Resturant also has a small outdoor seating area so you can enjoy your meal with the downtown pedestrian life walking by. I got the "New BRGR" burger that comes with two four oz patties, bacon, Wisconsin cheddar, and a fluffy egg bun. It was very juicy and meaty. The fries are well seasoned and very crispy. My co workers got a chicken salad and a chicken burger, and they both enjoyed their meals very much. All in all, I think that you could get anything on the menu and eat something delicious. Although busy, they check back every once in awhile. Took 12-22 mins to be served after taking our orders. Aesthetics of the place is definitely unique and appealing. Nice happy hour menu and a pretty good Old Fashioned on that menu for $5. The only issue was regular maraschino cherry and not a Luxardo and the bartender and I laughed at that but for $5, definitely had 2! Had the Steakhouse. burger, cooked perfectly medium-rare, potato bun was super soft and fresh, thick burger, super juicy and fantastic flavor. Did not come with fries but the truffle fries were worth it for $3.5. A couple of local beers, had the Tank 7 and nice atmosphere, lots of TVs, and a good breeze blowing thru. My boyfriend and I went here for dinner on our first night in KC (my first time to the city as well). We arrived around 830p mid-week and were seated at a booth within 5min. We had literally been driving all day and were starving so we got the chili fondue appetizer which is delicious chili queso pretzel and chips goodness. We split the Jalapeño Popper Burger (subbed it with an Impossible Burger) which has this amazing crispy jalapeño bun. Brussels sprouts side are seasoned well and I personally love the blue cheese chunks but... the Mac and cheese is amazing. Personally I would have liked the cheese a little thicker but the flavor was.. chefs kiss! As for service: friendly and attentive. We thought this place would be great for lunch but it just didn't turn out that way. We came in, placed our orders and waited like we would at a normal restaurant. The problems started when the food came. First, we asked our waiter to bring the check along with the food; he didn't. Next we ordered the fries combo. The fries combo is three different types of fries. We were expecting one plate with three different kinds of fries, however, we got three large cups of fries; far more than the two of us and our baby could eat. The fries combo is enough for four adults, maybe more. You would think that the waiter would've told us this was way more than we needed, but he didn't. He also didn't tell us that our toddler's meal came with fries. So we ended up with way more fries and we wanted or needed. Shortly after our food came our waiter just disappeared and we never saw him again. Somebody who I think was the owner got us to go boxes for leftovers and the check. Overall the food was good. I liked the menu, they had a good selection of things to choose from, as well as a nice selection of beers. Unfortunately, the service was clearly subpar and as a result, we ended up getting way more fries and we wanted or needed. We were excited to try out BRGR as it's a Local KC restaurant but we were disappointed in the lack of customer service. We sat at the bar because we typically get better service as you are sitting right in front of your server. However we were not greeted and at the time there were 4 other guests at the bar. He took several minutes to greet us and definitely not with enthusiasm or any personality once he did. He was bare minimum with effort to say the least. As far as the food - I will say the food was really good and would recommend if you can deal with the possibility of poor service. We had the Bloody Mary's which had a kick to them for sure. The mimosas were a joke because the pour the OJ first and it was about 60% OJ and the rest champagne. We had the Three dips and chips to start and it was great, everything was hot and fresh. I had a chicken sandwich and my fiancé had a burger which everything was great as far as the meal as concerned. The server never asked if our meal was good or checked to see if we needed anything. He never pre bussed the table and left all empty drinks sitting in front of us ( I noticed he did that with the other guests as well ) he actually disappeared for awhile and we were ready to leave. There were serval staff and what seemed to be managers standing around which I found odd because they were not walking the restaurant checking in on guests or helping ( even though it was not busy! ) a manager did finally approach us and ask if we needed anything and I said the food has been great but the service not so much. He didn't even really address that I said that and took our plates away. Overall food was great- service extremely poor. We were disappointed and will not plan to go back.
