I don't get to Brick 3 as often as I'd like, mostly because the bar scene surrounding it is not my scene. However, when I do I always say I'm going to try to get there more often. I've always received friendly/prompt service. This is the kind of place where you go in, point to the slice(s) you want and they throw it back in the oven to warm it up. I see nothing wrong with this if the pizza is fairly fresh. I almost always end up taking home a slice of mac&cheese or caprese. read more

a friend ordered two supremes for our lunch card game today. well the black olives were good, and the few onions were ok, the crust looked ok but looking at the bottom was black except for the lighter dots that show that it was not baked directly on a stone deck like real pizza is. the sauce was strange but not horrid ( not good either),. the cheese was , i don't know the correct word, maybe cheap? now to the italian sausage. as an italian , it was an insult to the name italian sausage. maybe bratwurst or????. if you dont know how to make it , you can buy italian sausage at scardina or glorioso's, i have had better frozen pizza. so listen up, if you want good, real pizza, go to lisa's ,or balistreri;s , or fillippo's , or calderone's, hup's is good also, and there are other real italian pizza's that are great in town , just skip the fake, lousy ones like this, you wont be sorry. life is too short to eat crummy food like this. read more

Brick 3 is hands down my favorite pizza place in Milwaukee!! I'm originally from NYC, so when I heard this place was making NYC style pizza I knew I had to try it. It definitely is sooo close to that NYC pizza that everytime I am downtown, I always stop by and grab a box of pizza to go. They have so much different types of toppings and I've tried maybe 8 different specialities and they were all awesome. Definitely try this place out! read more

Brick 3's biggest selling point for me is its location. Situated on Old World 3rd Street and near the Bradley Center, it's definitely in a prime location for downtown traffic. As for the pizza itself, it's good but I'm not sure it's that unique compared to other Milwaukee options. The crust is usually my favorite part - chewy but not overwhelming. Nice variety of options, usually including some more unusual or gourmet combinations. Overall, I've generally experienced fast and friendly service here. A friend has recently sworn off it after a rude encounter with an anti-Brewers staff member (dude, you live in Milwaukee - don't wear your Cardinals-lovin' heart on your sleeve at work), so that was a bit of a turn off for me, even not having been there. Nevertheless, I primarily stop here when it's convenient. Based on the pricing, I'll choose cheaper but equally tasty options when given the option. read more

I'm a big fan of Brick 3! I always order a slice of the spinach feta pizza. SO GOOD!! They heat it up in the oven just the right amount and it's the perfect amount of crispiness. It's also a huge piece of pizza. The service is great. Their fast and friendly. My friends have had the pepperoni, ham and pineapple, and others. My sister ordered the mac and cheese pizza once and really liked it. It's kind of a faster restaurant, but it's nice that they have bottled beer. The cashier suggested a seasonal beer I had never had before, but really ended up liking. Overall, I love going there, especially at 2 am after bar close. It's the best! read more

Finally some good, NY style pizza in Milwaukee! I moved here from the west coast last year but am originally form the east where NY pizza reigns supreme! I was disappointed to not find much good pizza here. But recently having Brick 3 I was happily surprised. Perfect crust, floppy and foldable slices, solid sauce and fresh toppings make this some of the best pie I've had recently. It meets of exceeds Ian's quality and taste. Also the people working (got delivery) were very nice and helpful. I think it was the same guy who delivered and took my order. Friendly and helped me out with a coupon question I had. To start I've been here several times. Each visit has been slightly different in terms of timing and atmosphere. My most recent visit was for a Saturday dinner. The place was empty. This surprised me, as it always seems to be busy! Brick 3 is never the cleanest restaurant, but all that black certainly makes it look sleek. The booths in this place are super long, and make conversation easy, if they're empty and clean. And luckily, on this visit they were. I'm a big fan of the NY style pizza. And this is one of the only places in Milwaukee that does it justice. When you walk in it's like a food lottery, you never know what kinds they'll have available. I had the spinach and the mac & cheese pizza on this visit. The spinach was awesome. The mac & cheese was good, I'd never had mac & cheese pizza before, but it left me desiring one thing: pepper. Not red pepper, just regular pepper. And there was none to be found. That would be my only complaint about the pizza. I got lucky this time, two good pizzas, a booth, and blue lemonade. I have been back a few times and always have a good ht and tasty slice. I dont dislike brick 3 pizza. I've just had better. It has a great location on old world 3rd street. I was hungry one night I was staying at the Aloft hotel and wondered into Brick 3 after midnight or 1am. There were a few people in the establishment with me. Right away you can see that it is a pretty nice place. The wood flooring is excellent and the colors are inviting. The stainless steel decor runs throughout. They have the showcase so you can see some of the deserts that they sell. Now what i dont like is that they have the pizza sitting out... I could care less if it is under a warming lamp, they take your slice and throw it in the over which is in full view so it can be warm for you to eat. I understand this is New York Pizza. I have had New York Pizza in New York. I dont like it in Milwaukee or in New York. Part of the reason its made this way is that New Yorkers have little time to sit and wait for a pie to be cooked. This is not New York by the way and we Milwaukeans have time!. I always order cheese. The cheese pizza was a standard cheese pizza. Nothing more and nothing less. The crust was a little dry and gritty for my taste. Kinda like the pizza i had at transfer... just not that bad. The prices on the other pieces are really steep. Pizza is very good. Best time is to get it around bar close because all their pizzas are fresh. I have gotten some slices that have been sitting out a while, and after its reheated it still isnt that good, and the crust got too hard. If you go here and get a fresh piece, you will love it. This place is great! We were greeted immediately upon entering (how often does that really happen?). You can order by the slice or by the whole pizza. We chose to order a whole pie. Since we like very different things, my husband ordered the chicken bacon bbq on half and I ordered half lasagna. OMG to die for if you are a lasagna and pizza lover! This beats my favorite hometown place in Normal, IL! Which is very hard to do. It's counter service, beer is available. If you like your food, let the cook know. He really appreciates it!! Ordered for a work meeting. Delivery took almost 2 hours and when it did arrive, one of the pizzas was made incorrectly. We ordered through Eat24 via Yelp and the Yelp service was excellent, but communication with the store was really disappointing. Long story short, we ordered a sausage pizza, add mushrooms, black olives, & green olives and we received a mushroom and olive pizza, hold the sausage. The employee swore up and down that there was sausage on the pizza... the 10 people in the meeting as well as myself felt otherwise. I offered to send the picture I took and/or drive the pizza back to the restaurant to prove that it had been made wrong and the perosn on the phone just said, "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" I said we would like a discount on our pizza because we ordered a sausage pizza and didnt get any sausage. They gave us a $4 discount... We had also requested plates,parmesan, and crushed pepper (options on their online order form) - which never made its way to us, but at the point we were at with arguing about sausage, I didn't even bring it up. Needless to say, it was a hassle. Pizza should make people happy, not grumpy. We will not be ordering from Brick 3 again because the experience was pretty bad. read more

If possible to give no stars I would. In town and staying at a hotel 0.4 miles from the restaurant, I called in an order for just a pepperoni pizza. The young man taking the order confirmed my name, phone number and hotel address & room number and said it would be between 20 and 45 minutes. I called back at 45 minutes to check the order status. I was asked my name to confirm the order and then told, "oh, yeah. The driver just arrived". I asked "arrived where or left where?" He replied that the driver just left their restaurant with my pizza. I called back 15 minutes later (60 minutes after ordering). Now the driver had now just left the restaurant and was on his way - only a couple minutes away. At an hour and 15 minutes after ordering I called back again. The young man was already familiar with me calling and just answered the phone with "yes?!" Again, the driver was just leaving and on his way. Would be there in "5 minutes, swear to God". I replied that i didn't believe it and would like to cancel my order. It took 3 clarifications that I'd like to cancel my order because I didn't believe it would actually arrive. I said if they wanted to deliver it at no charge now, that would be fine, but I'll be finding another place to eat. Young man then blamed their ordering system. I replied that I had called in the order. He then said they don't have their own drivers and have to use other delivery drivers. Not my problem. I told him I hope they use this to make themselves better. Their pizza sounded tasty, but if it never arrives then it doesn't matter how good it is. Very disappointed. read more

Brick 3 Pizza is walking distance to my job. The guy that took my order was rude he asked if I wanted chicken on my salad I said yes and I didn't get it. When I asked for the chicken he said I said I didn't want any. We went back and forth about whether or not I said I wanted chicken. I didn't think it was a big deal and I actually thought he was kidding as he rung up the cost of the chicken. Well when I got my chicken and the extra croutons that I asked for the guy said the chicken was under the croutons. I didn't see them, but the bowl was hot. So I continued to dig through the croutons and found chicken bits dried out to the max. So bad I couldn't eat them. I asked him about the texture of the chicken and he said it's not always the same. I left without asking for my money back. Big mistake. Not only did they screw around with the chicken they also put so much salt on the garlic bread "it melted the bag as if it was snow" my point is... way too much salt. I know this was a employee/customer dislike attack of my food, money and body. Everybody can't do salt. Even a little too much can be dangerous to the individual that takes that first bite. Me for instance. I work in the neighborhood for a reputable cable company TWC and we buy from Brick 3 all the time. Big Mistake! read more

Went here for a slice on my lunch break from work. Upon first inspection, it looked clean and the two individuals behind the counter were both friendly. That's where the good parts of this place ended. After selecting my lunch and placing my order, I watched the gentleman grab the two slices I had ordered and place them in the oven. I then journeyed on down to the register. I ordered a fountain drink, and for my pizza for dine-in. The guy behind the counter rung up my order, and told me my total. While I will not/cannot quote the exact price, but for 2 slices of pizza and a soda it was fairly overpriced. The guy behind the register then handed me my drink. Instead of the fountain soda I had ordered, I was handed a bottle of soda. While this may not seem like a big deal, it goes towards the lack of detail this place has. I paid, and sat at the window counter. And sat. And sat. And sat. When 3-4 people that had arrived after I had ordered had picked up their pizza, I walked up to see why I hadn't gotten mine. They immediately asked if I wanted to order. Absolutely clueless as to what was going on. I explained that I had already ordered before (pointed out all the people), but had yet to receive my pizza. They asked for my order, again, and then put my slices in the oven. Again. A few minutes later, I was then handed my pizza in a to-go box. Apparently I was not welcome to stay? Now, for the pizza itself. The crust was the best part. It was the right amount of chewy, crispy, dense, and light. That was the only good part. My pizza was pretty much cold. I was now on a short timeframe to get back to work as a result of them forgetting my order, so I ate it. I ordered one slice of meat lovers, and one of sausage/mushroom/onion. The meat loves was ok, with my largest complaint being the large amount of grease when I cut into it. The sausage/mushroom/onion really should have been named mushroom and raw onion only. The slices here truly are large in standard New York fashion. There were two tiny pieces of sausage on my entire slice. And as you can imagine, the onion was so undercooked it was borderline raw. Long story short, go just about anywhere else as the product is subpar and the service is atrocious. read more

So I stopped in with my GF and 2 friends. She orders a loaded mac & cheese slice and I want pepperoni. Oh, they're out of pepperoni. Who runs out of pepperoni? For .25 more they have pepperoni and sausage. Sure, whatever. Pay and go to sit (more on that after). Pick up my slice and it's stiff, take a bite and it's.. crunchy? Pizza shouldn't be crunchy.... Look at the bottom and it's gray-ish looking, so it had probably sat up there for awhile, drying out. About 2 bites into it I notice there's a fresh full pepperoni pizza sitting out there. Thanks for letting me know it would only be a couple mins for what I actually wanted to come out. Guess they really wanted my 25 cents, and to get rid of that old slice. Crust was pretty much inedible as well. We go to sit down, and have two friend with us. Only one place to sit, at a booth that's still quite dirty. Also there's a dirty rag and spray bottle for cleaning the tables on it. Nasty. Guess the guy behind the register was too busy to do any cleaning. Wasn't too busy. Eventually the table behind us gets cleaned, by the guy serving the pizzas, because a family of 3 needs somewhere to sit, and it's the only place for them. The last people left all their plates and empty beers on the table. Apparently they don't have a garbage can on the floor for customers to throw their own trash away. I give it 2 stars because my gf actually liked her slice, which actually had a little bend to it, like a large slice of pizza should. read more

Brick 3 Pizza is near my work, which makes it convenient for a lunch hour. That's about the only positive I can come up with, especially after today. In total, I've been to Brick 3 about 4 times since they opened. Each time was progressively worse than the last. Bottom line, the customer service is just plain bad. There always seems to be 4 or 5 dudes working, yet they still can't get it together. I ordered two slices for lunch, and the cashier (Guy #1) asked if I wanted to do a combo meal instead, that included two slices, a garlic knot and a soda. I said sure, why not? The cashier took my $9, and then just stared at me. He didn't grab the soda, he didn't tell his co-worker to throw a garlic knot in the oven...he just stared. Finally, he spit out "that'll be right up". So I took a seat and waited, and one of the cooks (Guy #2) brought out the two slices. No soda, no garlic knot. So I said, "I ordered the #3 combo, which was supposed to come with a garlic knot and a soda." He replied, "Uhh, what?" I can understand that Guy #1 didn't relay anything to Guy #2...annoying, but no big deal...So I repeated again, and he threw a garlic knot in the oven and then looked in the direction of the soda machine..."What do you want?", he snarled. I said, "Diet Coke"...so he goes to the soda machine, pours the cup half full and then just leaves the cup sitting there and doesn't give it to me. Umm, thanks? He walks back to the oven, gets the garlic knot with some tongs and walks it out to the table (holding it in the tongs the entire way) and plops it on to my tray. Still no soda - since I'm obviously done talking to cheerful Guy #2, I walk up to Guy #1 and I say, can I get my soda? Guy #1: "What soda?" "The soda that I ordered with that #3 you told me about" Guy #1: "Is this for here, or to go?" "It's for here, that's my diet coke right there, the half full glass" Guy #1: (grabbing paper to go cup) "So diet coke to go?" Instead of a relaxing lunch, the utterly confused, rude and unenthused staff makes me want to bash my forehead against a wall. During a previous visit, a combo meal that offered a side caesar salad caused the same level of confusion. It's almost as if you have to be the one to go tell the cook if you order a side item. If the food was great, I'd deal...but the pizza comes out just barely warm and isn't all that, even if it was hot. I'm guessing this place makes the majority of their bank on downtown drunks at night who don't know any better. After today, I won't be back. read more

First, I didn't mind that the variety available late afternoon was pretty terrible, nothing but the basics. I didn't mind that all the pies looked quite sad, like they had been sitting out since the morning. I had a new Living Social coupon and was going to get a great deal. I didn't even mind the wait at the register while the guy tried to figure out what to do with said coupon (rang up the order four separate times, each with a different total.) What I do mind is that in the time it took to figure out the coupon and pay, our food had become burnt to a crisp, and as this was take-out, we didn't notice until we got home and opened the box of nasty burnt pizza. Service is decent and good environment, but the pizza is so weak. Absolutely devoid of anything a normal person would consider flavor.

Ambiance: Very minimalist. Black tables, white walls, brushed chrome counter and pizza ovens. We were surprised to find they weren't brick ovens as we assumed that is what the "brick" in the title refered to. Staff: Counter person was very nice and very efficient. We had got an order of the fried raviolis. When he brought them out to the table he told us that two of them had gotten lost in the fryer and they were remaking them and would bring them out right away. Now, it didn't say on the menu how many ravioli's came in an order. He could have just as easily brought out what he had and gave it to us and we would never have known but he didn't. And a few minutes later true to his word he brought out the remaining two raviolis. There are a lot of restaurant staff out there that would have just let this slide and hope the customer didn't notice, I have to commend them that they were not one of those staff. Food: So I'm not a native New Yorker, in fact I've never quite made it to New York yet. I don't know if this is authentic New York style pizza, all I know is I LOVED IT! I am your typical Milwaukee pizza lover, cracker thin, crisp crust and cut into sqares all the way. So who could have imagined when I picked up that big triangle of pizza on a floppy crust that I would fall hopelessly, shamelessly in love? But I did. I just got a slice of the simple plan cheese pizza. I like to start out with cheese pizza when I am trying new brands because you can really taste the important elements that go into the pizza without getting clouded by over the top ingredients. The cheese was generous, and greasy! The sauce was perfect, not over whelming at all. As I said above I actually really liked the floppy crust. Okay, HUGE bonus points from me for the following 1) In addition to Grated Cheese and Red Pepper Flakes for you pizza they also had an Italian herb blend too. Few pizza joints to this, I don't know why because the minute I see that little green jar of lovely flavor begging to be sprinkled liberally on my food, I am a happy camper. 2) All 3 accoutrements were at each table, instead of one communal area for all diners. I like not having to share :) The fried ravioli's were good and came with more than enough tomato sauce to dip them in. Boyfriend ordered the Lasagna pizza and agreed to let me have some. I loved the creamy pockets of ricotta and the well seasoned meat. They have some desserts in a display case. Boyfriend got an éclair which was gigantic. Since my original trip I have been back many times and have thoroughly enjoyed their Hawaiian Pizza and their BBQ Chicken Pizza. Both were awesome! Went back again. OMG try the Philly Cheesesteak Pizza! Beverages: They have Coke! Another point awarded. Parking: Street only. I definitely plan to return. The staff was awesome, the pizza was incredible. Great pizza and great service. I was just in town on business and Brick 3 was recommended by the front desk clerk at my hotel. I couldn't have been more pleased. Nothing like a hot ny slice on a cold day. They have a great variety of pizzas and the guy at the counter was very friendly and knowledgable about the area. I read here people are saying it's like new york style pizza, but I don't know if they actually have ever been to NY.I am sad to say I was disappointed with the flavor, the pricing, and my overall experience. After a night at the Pabst theater, we ordered a HALF CHEESE HALF PEPPERONI/SAUSAGE 14'' pie. I asked the guy on the phone my total in which we said $14.89...okay, I was honestly going to rant on how he over charged me and bla bla bla, but hey-everyone makes mistake, and the worker did feel bad, so I'll stop here. I pretty much expected the pizza to be exactly like a thin crust, cheesey gooey slice of pizza but instead it was like eating cheese on a piece of wet cardboard box. While I can't speak for their takeout or pizza, my dining experience at Brick 3 Pizza left me wanting more... from somewhere else. My husband and I stopped in for a bite on a Wednesday night at just after 6pm. Old World 3rd was crazy busy as usual, but there was no one eating inside, so we worried they might be closed for some reason. A worker peeked out at us from the kitchen, but didn't greet us. He didn't say anything at all, actually. As we studied a menu, a man appeared carrying a load of pizza boxes and asked us what we wanted. I know it's a pizza joint, but we decided to skip the pizza since they had 9 pizzas and a platter of cheese bread sitting out on display, just hanging out at room temperature with nothing to keep it hot or cold. My first instinct was to leave, as this is a huge restaurant no-no, but we were hungry enough to let it slide and just order something else. I got a sandwich and my husband ordered a custom calzone. Looking at the drinks menu, we decided it would be more economical to order a 2-liter to share. Unfortunately, you can't order a 2-liter if you're going to be dining in. They're only to go. ((Also, if you're picky about your fountain soda, my regular coke tasted like diet.) Apparently, their kitchen staff needs to work on their timing. My sandwich arrived first, all by itself. We waited 5-10 minutes for my husband's calzone to arrive. The man that had taken our order brought it, and upon setting it down, directed my husband to the plastic cutlery hanging on the wall by the entrance... The food was o.k. Not terrible, but nothing that would bring us back. I couldn't stop looking at the old pizza on display. A few people came in just as we were finishing our food. They sat down, and hadn't been spoken to by the time we walked out the door. I'm an avid searcher for the best pizza in the area. This is one of my top favs in the Milwaukee area. Have yet to be seen in the building... I actually don't know where it is. However, first time I had it was in Park East Lofts sitting in the hallway after bar waiting for the people that lived in whatever apartment I was at to show up. Instead our group was greeted by a friend who lived down the hall with a huge white box of pizza. We dug right in on the floor and all... I was so happy I had a pizza in my hand that I had to fold to eat. I was instantly hooked and couldn't wait to order the next Friday to deliver to my house.
