Dinner & Drinks ~ THIS PLACE ~ Always has Fresh Cooked authentic Fried Chicken that comes out Piping Hot, Moist and Crispy! It's 'Slap Yo Moma Good!' We always order the Fried Chicken 6 piece, Habanero Bacon MAC, Mexican Corn & Poblano Mash Potatoes and it is SO GOOD!! I go into a state of shock it's so yummy. Trust me on this: Ask for a side of their signature avocado dip sauce (it's no extra charge), then dip your chicken meat in it and you will be blown away! This is one of our Go-To regular places, no matter what time we go their food is FRESH MADE to order and they're open until 2 AM. Great location too, very safe with a door man and all. Try it Out and it'll become your Favorite too. The ambiance is inviting, dim lit and full of positive energy. Everyone behind the bar, where we always sit to eat, is happy & helpful and that makes me feel welcome. I only give HONEST and TRUE Reviews from the Heart. Do not be fooled by this dive bar appearance. By dive bar, I actually mean almost looking like a dive bar that hasn't been operating for years from the exterior. I say all of this as a good thing. It's a vibe. Seriously. The vibe is even better when you get your mouth on the goodness they are serving up. I don't know how they season the chicken tenders (battered and deep fired) but I can tell you this, those tenders are magic to the lips and tongue. WOO! Power-packed goodness. AND the most important part, the meat is tender (yep) and juicy! Not dried out or over cooked. Let's talk sides... Habanero bacon macaroni and cheese. OMG it is probably some of the best out there. It's got that southern-style bake to it that pops with the habanero and bacon. Just enough kick to make you wanting more. Talk about wanting more, the poblano mashed potatoes are INSANE, gang! I could eat them all day, everyday. Again, that southern-style cooking that brings and extra "hmmpf" of flavor! I can't wait to get back to Dallas to try the other menu items. My mouth is drooling just thinking of it.

Great Experience! Live around the area and decided to walk and find some dinner, ended up finding this fried chicken spot and was the best decision ever! Great prices ended up paying for two entrees and two sides for $40 plus 25% tip in total paying about $50 for two people. Food was delicious! And the chicken was cooked to perfection, great portions for the price and very fulfilling. Officially a go to for fried chicken! This feels like a little hidden gem without all the frill, they just cut to the chase with great food and good drinks. Love that they have a variety of flavor options for the fried chicken! We tried the hot and the gringo and both were great choices! Can't wait to try the rest of their menu! read more

Spent the last night in Dallas just bar hopping with a few friends and this was our 3rd stop I believe (we didn't spend more than 1-2 drinks per bar) They have a limited food menu here and not very vegetarian/vegan friendly. It was chicken everythannnng. I opted for the mexican corn and it came out in a cup just drowned with cheese..was too salty and vinegar. Not too sure why it was called mexican corn. I did enjoy the Milk Stout I tried..it tastes better than it sounds! The people that work here were all nice but I wasn't too impressed. read more

This place definitely has the "hole in the wall" decor down, but don't let that fool you. They are frying up some damn good chicken. I had the Hot Chicken and it was tasty and juicy. If you like your food hot then this is the dish for you. I didn't even use the extra hot sauce! Luckily I ordered the avocado slaw to help cool down my mouth.Great side dish. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying the chicken & waffles and some more sides! read more

This is a first class dining establishment disguised as a dive bar. If you are into great tasting food without the frills, outstanding service, and great drinks, this is the place. They have the best fried chicken you could imagine. The deep fried skin left on the legs is a ridiculously tasty treat. The corn is also not to be missed. Also try the jalapeño biscuits and gravy! read more

Absolutely amazing. We were super impressed. Started with the deviled eggs - tangy and delicious. Had the regular chicken and the hot chicken. I'm from Atlanta and found this place through an article naming the top 10 new restaurants in Dallas. Brick & Bone was named #2. It's easy to see why. They've only been open 6 weeks but the cocktails are AMAZING. The fried chicken-words can't describe. Perfectly crispy, perfectly cooked and juicy! This is a MUST. TRY! If you're in Deep Ellum this is the place to go for drinks and food. Their mixed cocktails are awesome and their bar staff is really great at finding the one that works best for you. Solid, welcoming place to grab a drink and some late night food. The staff was super helpful and friendly with explaining the menu and getting our stuff to us ASAP. I wasn't as impressed with the chicken as I expected to be considering all the hype, but did really like that it's an option so late at night! Absolutely do try their jalapeño biscuits and elotes on a stick. So good! read more

Not a good spot for food at all. Only a few chicken items on the menu. The spices in the chicken is bland and doesn't taste good at all. Very few seatings and service is slow especially in the kitchen. Took forever to get the food and when it came out, it was cold. read more

Chicken & Waffle, habanero bacon Mac and cheese, Brussels Sprouts and Cesar salad were all amazing. Drinks were a bit pricey for our liking ($12 for a margarita) but thats expected for this area. The atmosphere is cool and casual. It was not packed at 7 on a Friday night. The service was also great and friendly. read more

Total thumbs up. The staff was very friendly, genuinely interested in us having a great experience. The cocktails are some of the best you will find in the city, and the fried chicken and other chicken options will NOT disappoint. Came here on a Wednesday night for drinks and appetizers. They open at 6 so do not come looking for happy hour thats for sure. The menu is fairly small but has some really good stuff to choose from. We tried the mac & cheese and deviled eggs. First off the mac & cheese is a must! Deviled eggs were very unique and different the way it was presented and made. I really want to describe what and how these deviled were made of but there was no description to them on the menu and sadly I forgot to take a pic! Moving on to my drink, I ordered the huckleberry drink which consisted if I can remember, vodka, strawberry , grapefruit, lemon and basil. WOWZERS it was so damn good and very different than what id normally order but it sounded refreshing so I took my chance on it. The atmosphere was very warm, not very loud at all and the music was very relaxing and added to the vibe of the place. The wait staff were extremely friendly! I almost forgot we ordered an appetizer called D'z NUTZ. Lol dont be alarmed they are simply a warm mix of different nuts such as cashews, peanuts and pecans tossed in chili lime seasoning. They were pretty good it you want to come for drinks only and looking for a light snack. Overall ill be coming back! read more

Hands down the best fried chicken in Dallas that I've had so far! Amazing! And that hot chili oil is divine. At Brick & Bones, fried chicken is our specialty -- and, here, we do it our güey (pronounced "way" and used in Mexican Spanish similarly to how "dude" works in American English). In short, we're not winging it when it comes to our birds. Whether we're serving it in buckets, as tenders or with waffles, our chicken is at once remarkably crisp and impossibly juicy. And that's just the start: From lush salads to savory deviled eggs, we've got something for anyone who's feeling peckish. Pair that with our seasonal, hand-crafted cocktail menu featuring fresh, hand-squeezed ingredients, and you're not going to want to leave. Good thing we're open till 2am. Hey, we don't cluck around.

History

Established in 2015.

In the summer of 2015, when we laid down plans to open Brick & Bones in the heart of the Deep Ellum district, we knew we were flocking into one of Dallas' classic neighborhoods - a place with a rough edge, specific tastes and a definite attitude. Becoming a part of this storied legacy was something we appreciated, and something we knew we couldn't mess up. But that doesn't mean we could fowl things up a bit! So that's what we set out to do. We started in our kitchen, where we cooped up and built a menu centering around our Mexican-inspired fried chicken. It's our specialty, and we do it our güey (pronounced "way" and used in Mexican Spanish similarly to how "dude" works in American English) -- which is basically just another way of saying we're not exactly winging it over here. Our chicken is at once remarkably crisp and impossibly juicy -whether we're serving it in buckets, as tenders or with waffles. And that's just the beginning.

"When Cliff Edgar first opened the doors to Brick & Bones, he thought he had created a dive bar. Sure, he'd hired a chef he'd latched onto during a stint at the now closed Table and Tavern, but the focus of the space was meant to be cold beer, great cocktails and a relaxed vibe. Rey Morales' menu took the place in a different direction, though. Edgar asked Morales to do more than just roast tinctures for the bar. He wanted a short, tight menu that would keep hungry drinkers fed while giving the place a personality. He decided on fried chicken because it is universally loved, but he wanted to give it a unique spin so he turned Morales loose. At Brick & Bones, that Mexican touch is present in a brine infused with japones, piquin, cayenne and morita peppers, honey, salt and garlic, producing yard bird with meat as good as its crust." - Dallas Observer

Apothecary offers customers a unique drinking and dining experience through its use of two…read moredifferent options between its Archive section and its Alchemy section, both utilizing their own separate spaces of the same building. That's not where the differences stop as the Archive menu provides more traditional cocktails and a diverse array to choose from, with drinks you may be more familiar with. Alchemy on the other hand offers a more experimental approach to their drink menu, including creative cocktails that seem eclectic and never been tried before, using unusual ingredients or prepared in a unique way, but if you are feeling adventurous, I'd highly recommend trying the latter. Keep in mind, when entering Alchemy, the inside is very dark so if you want to see properly I would recommend sitting outside if it isn't too hot. To start, my friends and I ordered the truffle fries for the table and they were highly ranked in my opinion for best truffle fries in Dallas. They were perfectly crispy and flavored well with the truffle seasoning. For drinks, from the alchemy menu, we ordered the I Dream of Kiwi (my choice), Kaleidoscope Eyes, and Inappropriate Beet Pun. My drink was made up of bamboo tea gin, kiwi coconut water, plum wine, and kiwi boba. I liked the sweetness mixed with tartness and the boba balls added a nice touch. Additionally we ordered the pineapple soft serve margaritas (it was my first time experiencing soft serve margs) and I really enjoyed Apothecary's version. The pineapple flavor was tangy alongside the creaminess of the ice cream. And there was a nice chili salt garnish (similar to tajin) added on top. For food, I ordered the Lil' Thuggies, a hilarious name for a dish that is actually very delicious. It consisted of popcorn chicken nuggets, cooked in sweet tea brine and spiced flour, served with a side of epazote ranch and korean wing sauce respectively. My friends ordered the Japanese elotes and Muhammara (roasted red pepper & walnut spread, greek oil, sea salt, microgreens, grilled baguette). Both very tasty as well, with the elotes having a cream sauce on top. Overall I can't wait to go back to apothecary and maybe try the other side next time.

The last time I went, it was during happy hour (4-6 pm, weekdays), when HH drinks are $9 each. I ordered the mushroom toast and my fave food option which is the Cacio e Pepe. They use flat long pasta in their Cacio e Pepe that is so delicious, flavorful, and hearty and top the dish off with a generous amount of Parmesan cheese. I also appreciate how late their kitchen is open in the evenings (10-11 pm) so you can stop by for a late night bite.
