Brick & Brew - Pizza Near Me - Havertown, Pennsylvania

Wow! Wow! Wow! I went to Brick & Brew in Havertown this evening, and I had the best experience! We walked in and immediately noticed how the "terrain" decor fits perfectly! We sit down and our waitress greets us with a smile and welcomes us with waters (without asking...I love that)! We order drinks, the *special drink this week is the Strawberry Basil Margarita, and my friend ordered The Johnny...both were refreshing and flavorful. We put in an appetizer (the special wings for this week), Mango Habanero wings, and they were tender and fell right off the bone, we were in heaven! We then ordered our entree's, and not only did they come out so quickly, but they were delicious! I ordered the veggie sliders with french fries because when you're at Brick & Brew, you should always get the fries; my friend ordered the *special burger (The Emmet's Twilight Burger), and it was the juiciest burger she'd ever had! The service, food and ambiance were exactly what we needed after a long week! Sadly, we were too full to order dessert, but we saw the caramel beignets go out to another table, and they looked like the perfect after dinner treat! Can't wait to come back! read more

So I previously wrote my 2 star review of this place in mid September, It may have been the week they opened their doors. This past week my girlfriend and I decided to stop by this place (since the craziness has died down) and give it another shot. I decided to sit at the bar and noticed the awesome whiskey selection they have to choose from. I've never seen Bookers True Barrel Bourbon anywhere besides this place! It is truly the greatest bourbon I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing and I highly recommend giving it a tasting. The drink menu is very impressive, something I wasn't able to recognize during my first visit of this place. The two female bartenders were very cool and more than happy to talk to us about their different drink selections. We both decided to get an order of muscles and I just had to give the margherita pizza another shot. When the muscles came out I was surprised to see 2 pieces of thick cut bread on top of both of our orders, which turned out being fresh and absolutely delicious. It also had a tasty butter/oil spread on top which complimented the sauce exceptionally well. Mussels were fresh and steamed perfectly too. Another thing I must add was during our appetizers, a gentlemen (may have been the owner) came up to us and told us how magic hat pitched them two new beers they crafted and he was trying to decide if they should sell it at their restaurant. He let us sample each beer and was very interested in both of our opinions on them. The beers were amazing, in fact I wish I could remember the name of the one because I would have certainly bought a case of it! After we tasted the beers he let us have both of them on the house (great guy!) So now onto the pizza. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised at how different it looked from my previous visit. I'm about 95% sure they changed something (if not everything) about their sauce. It's not as sweet any more and the dough also seems to have improved as well. Overall this pizza was a pleasure to eat and I believe they sell them for 5$ during their happy hour. So I have certainly changed my opinion about this place. Their food has gotten better, without a doubt. I will be coming here again. read more

We love this place. The beer selection is top notch. The spirits and specialty cocktails hit the mark as well. Service is always comfortably attentive, in other words, they refill your water, they are right there when your drink is empty and they serve food right away to the right people without auctioning it off and they do this with hovering and intruding on the table. The food is solid. The items on the regular menu are very good and the weekly specials are always worth trying - the weekly burger special is not to be missed!! Thank You H Town B&B! I will be going this week but disappointed already. The management is completely behind current handling of gluten free requests. Many privately owned and chain restaurants allow me to bring my own gluten free bread and discretely hand it to the server. This place has refused to allow it. Totally behind the times. Been meaning to try this place for awhile... now I am sorry it took me so long to get there. Great decor, friendly staff and a fantastic menu. My hubs and I shared the polenta cake with burrata, house-cut fries with prosuitto infused guyere and caramelized onions, and since they are known for their wood fired pizza... we went for the potato/sausage/fried egg circle of love. Overall, good experience. Started with the deviled eggs, which were good, but needed just a slight kick in flavor after the bite of shrimp. I had the duck sliders, which were very good, my only critique was that the carrot slaw was directly on the bottom of the bun, which made them soggy. The French fries were also delicious (they would be perfect with an aioli dipping sauce). My fiancé had the burger, which he said was very good. The bun was soft, which really made it delicious. We will definitely go back. I need to try the bacon (mmm bacon). The whisky sour was also very tasty! read more

Decent. We arrived on a Sunday, first thing at opening. There was a group seated already, but other than that it was empty. The server was sweet and attentive and we were brought water right away. The specials were up on the board so as we perused the menu, we decided to start with an order of fried pickles and the prosciutto fries. The pickles were great, long and thinly sliced, there was a nice ratio of breading to pickle. The prosciutto fries were not at all like we had pictured from the description. I don't know if we had more than 2 or 3 teeny pieces of prosciutto in the entire plate and they got cold and soggy so quickly that they became unappetizing. We were 2 adults and 2 kids (who are just as much foodies as their parents) so we decided on sharing 3 plates. We ordered the Sweet Child of Mine burger cooked medium, the special flat bread and the Parma pizza. The burger was the best of then 3, although it was definitely cooked more to medium well with a grey center. The pizza was very greasy and there was so much arugula on it that as soon as you grabbed a slice, an entire salad fell off of it. Also, the chili on the flatbread over took much of the flavor that it was overpowering. It wasn't horrible, but honestly, the meal was just okay. I did enjoy the fries that came with the burger. Overall, we might return to try some other things out, but a few of our picks were just not worth trying again. read more

This is a great addition to Havertown. Came here for dinner on a Thursday night. The place is very cute, has flowers outside and exposed brick walls and the brick oven pizza a being made in the back smells delicious. It's very small and it's usually crowded so we had to sit at the bar back by the brick oven. The servers were very friendly and took our orders quickly. Out food and drinks came in a timely fashion and were presented very nicely. Their draft menu was very good but lacked descriptions of the beers which made it hard to choose which one to get without asking a bunch of questions. My bf got a draft recommended by the waiter and enjoyed it and I went with a glass of wine because I couldn't decide without descriptions of the beers. We had the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich and the Greek burger which was on special. Both entrees were delicious as were the fries that came with it. We left feeling very stuffed because everything was so good. Overall it is a great pub with a good menu of food and drinks and good atmosphere. My 4 stars is just for how crowded it is and the limited seating and space. Will definately be coming back! read more

I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately I don't think I'll be back. Went for lunch in a Tuesday afternoon with my husband and son. We got fried pickles, pepperoni pizza,wings, and buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. The pizza was the only good thing. The fried pickles were ok would be better if they weren't cut long ways. Because they were cut long ways instead of chips - the batter fell off. It was just big and messy to eat. The wings tasted funny. They also had an after taste. My sandwich was a joke. It was like 3 small pieces of chicken and the sandwich itself was falling apart. Maybe I might go back for JUST PIZZA? and even then I would try to go someplace else. It was very cute inside. We love the Brick and Brew!! We go the bb about once a month so we have tried a lot of items on the menu. Some of the items we love are: Fried pickles Beet salad Bread pudding Wings Mac and cheese Their cocktails are creative and tasty and their beer selection, which changes frequently, is great. The bb gets very crowded on the weekend so expect a wait since it is a small place. My only complaint about this place is it is usually very cold inside during the winter. Have not tried the food... Both times I went there was a long wait and no where to sit at the bar... Food looked good coming out of the kitchen. Woo hoo! Is right, Yelp! I loved this place. Stopped in while visiting family over the holidays. Loved the beer selection, unique food and the burgers were awesome! We had a few Dogfish Head beers, flight of a few other craft beers from the area. I loved the atmosphere - it was rustic, gastropub-y & an old time America feel to it. Would definitely stop in again. First time to Brick and Brew this evening and I really enjoyed it. There was a big crowd and it took a little longer than expected to get a seat, but it all worked out well in the end. They still seem to be working out the kinks with respect to the crowd/service ratio. All-in-all, it was a pleasurable experience. I had the Autumn Veg pizza. It was Ok. A little overdone and the veggies were lacking. The short bread fries were super tasty. The beer selection was top notch. I'll definitely be back soon. Cute place. Great beer and whiskey lists - a plus if you are seeking beer and/or whiskey. Our service was very good and attentive. It was a beautiful Sunday evening around 7:00 so not really crowded. We ate outside. We ordered a pizza, fried pickles, and the fried chicken sandwich. I know, not healthy. Well, there is no salt left anywhere. It was all on our food. Pickles and fries almost too salty too eat. Three stars for the place - not the food -but next time we won't order anything fried and see how that goes. read more

Every time I drive by this establishment- it's jam packed so I thought I'd give it a try. My boyfriend and I went last night to dinner and we're so glad that we did. I love how they have bar stools set up as a "pizza bar" and you can see the pizza cook work his magic right in front of you. Michelle, our server, was an absolute delight. She was fast and had an extensive knowledge of the menu (both food and drink), which is always a great thing. My boyfriend had the "award winning whiskey sour" and it was delicious. We had the Lobster Mac & Cheese and it was absolutely amazing. The dish was started in the kitchen and finished in the brick oven. So good. We also ordered the Lump Crabcake Pizza, which was so, so, yummy. I don't remember the Pizza Chef's name but he is a redhead and had a bandanna on his head last night and he was amazing. Being an avid cook and baker I know that pizza is very hard to make in an oven, and even harder in a brick oven and he cooked everything flawlessly. The only reason why I gave this establishment four stars is because of the size of the restaurant. It's a very small place and they don't take reservations so I could only imagine what the wait would be during dinner time on the weekend. We thankfully went around 5:45-6:00 so we beat the dinner rush. If you don't mind waiting, this is the place to go. Will be returning soon! read more

First off, I give B&B credit for trying and it is a major step above all the Irishish bars that permeate Northern Delco. The food is top notch and the beer selection is better than anything else around, though a bit limited if you're used to places in the city or a place like Capones or TJ's. Negatives for the overall crowdedness, the couple of times I've gone here I just haven't felt comfortable enough to stick around. Also don't like that they got rid of Happy Hour on Fridays. I'd definitely bump this up half a star if I could. read more

I have been to Brick and Brew twice in the past week. Both times the food was absolutely phenomenal. The whiskey sours can't be beat as well. The specials are always changing so you can always have something new. Last night we had these buffalo bites filled with Gorgonzola Mac and cheese. Absolutely delicious. The wait time is long on a Friday night, but it's worth it for the food. Our server was attentive and friendly. Definitely my favorite restaurant in Havertown! read more

I tried it once and I ordered the county style fried Chicken but it was over cooked almost burned.The waiter said that's how it's supposed to be cooked. One of my favorite places, just wish place was bigger. Go early to get a seat where you don't have to strain to listen to your dining partner over the person next to you. My favorite appetizer, the Prosciutto Fries are insanely good and might be overlooked by their name.'The chef has weekly specials, and the Chicken & Waffles are worth trying, probably the best I have had. THe Crabcake sandwich with a fried greem tomato is excellent too. I would eat here more often, if there wasn't a line out the door, but that goes to show you how creative and delicious the food is here. read more

Been here a number of times since they opened about a year and a half ago. Positives: Bartending - make sure you have Mike make your drinks. I'm surprised he's still there and not yet at a fancy bar downtown. He's a legit pro. Negatives - can get very crowded; always have a plan B Food - mostly hits but some misses. Pizza has gotten much better since they opened. Generally a good creative menu - definitely a step above any place in the area, although I still feel like they have room to improve. Specials are always overpriced. Feels like they've been getting a bit complacent lately but still worth the four stars when comparing to Havertown's other offerings. Might be time to move to a bigger location though! read more

Was very excited to try Havertowns new upscale pizza pub. Walked in and sat at the empty bar and was greeted by a nice looking bartender, after delivery draft lists and menus she started yukking it up with coworkers about the slow Saturday and her boredom. It took her over 10 minutes to turn from her fascinating convo to ask us for our drink order. We ordered the chicken and hot pepper pizza well done and the butter milk fried chicken sandwich with fries. The pizza was not cooked well done but the peppers were hot and the flavor was awesome. The fries were seasoned with a little bit of a dry rub and cooked to perfection. There homemade ketchup had a hint of BBQ sauce that was delicious. The chicken sandwich had a great carrot slaw on it. Was great. After hearing a few other patrons comment on the specials we turned to see a board full of menu additions that our terrible bar tender did not mention, she also never checked back on us after we received our food. The place has a comfortable atmosphere. good beer, bourbon, and whiskey selection. Food was great but service was quite poor and disappointing, especially for sitting 2 feet away from the server at the bar. Will defiantly return, hopefully to a more attentive server. read more

For the travel, I and my friend each had the short rib grilled cheese, which was absolutely delicious. Her boyfriend had the special burger, loaded with meat ON TOP of the burger pattie, and he said it was delicious. My wife had the margherita pizza, and she deemed it very good, with fresh and tasty toppings. The beer tap choices were a little too Millenial for me, and bottle choices didn't suit me much better, but I settled on a Yards beer. Place is small but very inviting, and service was friendly. Just when I thought this place was already the best ever and couldn't get any better!!! BAM! Surprise!!! Got extra more happy stars and greatest vibes points!!! The specials are insanely tasty, the staff makes us feel like family no matter what day we show up and how small or huge our table is, plus their mussels are a yes please all the time we go there! But tonight we sat at the "pizza bar area" and chef Tim went the extra mile and asked our daughter if she would like to make her own pizza! His kindness and superb generosity and happy vibes are beyond anything we've seen before! We are so grateful to everybody that works so hard at Brick and Brew so we can have a great time and taste the best food ever! I stopped in after work last night around 10:30 for some food and drink and was greeted nicely by the bartenders when sitting at the bar. That gave me a very good vibe right away about Brick and Brew. The ambiance of the place is really nice and the draft beer selection and whiskey selection was for the serious minded and sophisticated which I like. Kelsey, my bartender was very well versed in the food and whiskey choices and suggested the wings and the single malt scotch that I ordered. She was right on the mark as the wings were so tender and good with a little kick as well. The service was fantastic and I am looking forward to returning to sample some other food. The staff was delightful & our waiter was especially attentive considering it was a busy Saturday night. Drink menu was extensive & my Manhattan was the best!  Our food was delicious, especially the roasted Brussel-sprouts & the beef brisket on brioche roll, & the Caramel beignets for dessert were beyond awesome.  My only real disappointment though was the fact that they don't serve coffee here at all, which I have never experienced before at a restaurant.  This may be a deal-breaker for me, but because my entire experience at Brick & Brew was so enjoyable, I'll just have to return & hope that maybe coffee has been added to the menu... read more

Had a great meal here and I'd go to 4.5 stars if I could. The wood burning brick oven pizza is really good and there are many tasty and unusual options to try. The beer menu is excellent, the apps that I've tried are great (wings for sure) .... Bottom line is that the place has a REALLY cool vibe and great service ... This place is amazing! Such a classy little spot, in little Havertown, with a small menu of eclectic pizzas, delicious apps and lots of great brews. I'd say that 60% of their menu was beer, wine, cocktails and whiskey. Our server was really really nice and helpful. Can't wait to get back and sit outside on a beautiful summer evening.
