    Spicy salami pizza ($23)
    Alan C.

What a great little place hidden on the end of a street and behind a fine dining restaurant and a coffee shop ! We have been visiting Mendocino for many years and now live in the Sea Ranch and based on our quick and casual dinner last night before they closed (they stop taking orders at 5PM during the week apparently) we will be putting this place and their delicious pizzas on regular rotation. Fairly priced, nicely charred in a real wood fired pizza oven and with open seating in a lovely outdoor garden surrounded by gardens and flower beds - with a solid selection of drinks and beers and wines we will be back. We had the spicy salami pizza ($23) and it was plenty for the two of us. Great job ! Highly recommended !!

Brickery Pizza is tucked away on the same property as Café Beaujolais, and finding it is part of the experience. Walk down the path between the two yellow buildings, surrounded by lush foliage, and it feels like you've stepped into The Secret Garden. The seating is thoughtfully scattered throughout the gardens, offering a mix of sunny and shaded spots. The main gathering area has the most tables, so it can be a little livelier with conversation. I'm a bit sensitive to noise, so we wandered down one of the smaller garden paths and found a table beside a raised garden bed. It was the perfect place to enjoy the beautiful flowers, herbs, shrubs, and trees, with little birds stopping by throughout our meal. We had a small miscommunication with our order, but the staff handled it immediately with kindness and professionalism. The customer service was exceptional and made us feel genuinely cared for. The pizza was outstanding--an easy 10/10. We ordered the Burrina along with a cheese and pineapple pizza for our little one. The combination of spicy salami, fennel sausage, creamy burrata, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar was absolutely delicious. Every bite was balanced and full of flavor. Between the incredible food, attentive service, and peaceful garden setting, Brickery Pizza is a place I can't wait to return to. It's one of those spots that feels just as special for the atmosphere as it does for the meal.

    The window of irascibility

The food was OK, not as gourmet as the hype. They automatically add a hefty "tip" to the order that you must opt out of. Strange, considering there is no service from the staff after the order is placed at the window. The water in the bathroom was dangerously scalding hot. I told the mistress at the counter and she complained about the management not doing their job, and scoffed at me for suggesting they at least put a sign up to warn the poor dirty souls who soil their hands with grease and whatnot. The garden atmosphere is lovely, a redemptive quality to the unsettling experience.

Wood fire heaven Doesn't get much better than this. This place has mastered all the elements - thin crust with a crispy periphery and just the right amount of smokey char. We got the combo pizza with arugula added on top. Plenty of meats and veggies. Made fresh and ready in about 25 minutes. Plenty of tables outside to enjoy. 1 pizza is enough for 2.

I think I love this place more for the location than the pizza! It is tucked away in the back with a little pathway between two restaurants, so it's easy to miss but Google Maps gets you right there. I ordered the Margherita pizza ($22). It's a good size, thin crust but still soft, and topped with plenty of basil. They have got a self-serve water station and drinks too--definitely try the pickle beer (around $5). Now, the vibe here is what makes it special. The outdoor seating feels magical, surrounded by plants and cozy tables. It's super relaxing and just beautiful to sit out there. They even have a couple of tables inside their farm area, which is such a cool touch. Location: 5 Food: 4 Service: Self Service

    Artichoke Pepperoni

This was our first meal in Mendocino after making the four hour drive from the Bay Area and it was so good that it had us licking all the pepperoni grease off our fingers! We came by at 4pm on a Friday in spring season and there were only a few other parties there. We ordered the Artichoke Pepperoni. They only have 1 size and it looks big but has a thin crust and can comfortably feed two people. The thin crust and dough has a crispy exterior yet a subtle chew on the interior -- it's sturdy enough to support the weight of the toppings but still has a flop when you hold up a slice so it's not too stiff. The slight char on the crust complements the tickle of acidity in tomato sauce. The cheese is stringy and the right amount, while the slices of small pepperoni are crispy and curl up to fill up with its own grease! The salty pepperoni is balanced by the sourness of the artichoke hearts. I also really like the vibe of this place -- they only have outdoor seating available but it's in a serene landscaped garden with tables and seating scattered throughout. If the weather is good, enjoying your pizza while soaking in the costal Mendocino air and partly cloudy sun will make for a memorable experience! Overall, definitely a must-try in Mendocino!

What an adorable little space tucked away in a garden that feels like the coziest backyard setting. Our barbecue chicken pizza was absolutely delicious. Perfectly balanced sauce, cheese, and homestyle dough that altogether made one of the best barbecue chicken pizzas we've ever had! The staff here is easy-going and super friendly. If the weather is nice like it was today, you can easily bring your dog and have a lunch day outside together! We can't wait to come back. Thank you, Brickery, for serving us one of the best pizzas we've had so far this year!

One of the best pizza places in Mendocino - they have delicious pizzas and very inviting ambience! Loved the beautiful art on the wall!! Highly recommend going here when in Mendo!

Excellent pizza and very warm well designed garden with lots of cozy nooks to relax and enjoy the food.

FYI Brickery is down the path next door to The Waiting Room. Beautiful grounds to relax and enjoy the wood fired pizza here. We had the Hot Honey Pizza which came out different than what I had read online. Most likely they change their menu daily. The crust had great chew but I prefer a crispy crust. The pizza was very one dimensional lacking veggies of any kind. The so called hot honey was not hot at all but perhaps because there wasn't much honey. I am thinking we should have ordered a different pizza.

Gorgeous pizza! We got the Combo and it was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Super fresh ingredients and a sauce and crust that are world class! It's going to be my first stop the next time I'm in town!

Unique pizza combinations and seasonal specials in a cute spot in Mendocino. Lot of outdoor seating in their garden with beautiful succulents. Wouldn't recommend purchasing soup since it comes in a to-go plastic container. A must visit place with reasonable prices and generous portion sizes. We ordered 2 pizzas for 2 people and ended up eating it for dinner too, so order judicially.

The store is much larger than I anticipated and they have an amazing array of fresh produce, just as you enter the place. It's best to scope out the store and check out all that's available. The aisles meander and you may find things were It's least expected. They have a good looking meat counter and lots of typical market items, plus local things too. I was on a quest for breakfast things and amazed to fine very nicely packaged breakfast sandwiches and burritos made by the store in a refrigerator case. I grabbed several. The store is a bit rustic yet clean and well organized, and there's lots beyond just food items at one end of the store. The woman who checked me out was very pleasant and friendly. If you're looking for something to eat, or fill up on groceries, this is it.

A great local market in Mendocino!…read more My wife and I were in Mendocino for a few days staying at a nearby Bed & Breakfast. When we first checked in, we were told about this market and given directions to it. We were glad for that as we found it to be a well stocked and reasonably priced place to get food for our picnic on the cliff and snacks for the other days of our stay. The selection is great and the prices are very reasonable.

Which was fresh and great tasting, but a bit too much bread for me. I had a side salad with a fantastic home made dressing. My wife ordered the Chicken panini and potatoes. It was also very good. The special of the day was the Red lentil Carrot coconut soup. Again, it was fantastic. For desert we had the Hokey Pokey sundae. The hot fudge tasted homemade also and I really enjoyed the honeycomb ice cream.

The look is very much a country cafe vibe, yet somewhat upscale too. The lunch outside was so enjoyable. The space and garden is delightful. Seating is far enough apart so you don't feel cramped. I started with the soup of the day which was wonderful. Then I chose the Rock Fish Tacos and oh my goodness, some of the best tacos ever. I liked that they didn't automatically fall apart when you picked it up. Plus the flavor and tenderness of the fish was spot on perfect. For dinner during a subsequent visit sitting inside at a cozy table was equally enjoyable. Four of us had a tough time choosing entrees as everything on the menu looked appealing. We started and shared the cheese board which was fabulous. Local cheeses were the highlight and ever so good. For my entree I chose the Gnochi with vegetagles. I very much enjoyed the overall dish but the gnochi were somewhat sparse and not that good in texture. Surprisingly that didn't impact the overall impression as everything else in the dish was satisfyingly delicious. It was an adequate portion and the price point good for the quality. We went through two bottles of wine, one suggested by the server. It was spot on. This is a delightful restaurant and if you're in the area definitely make it a stop for either lunch, when available, or especially dinner.
