We have been coming here for years and it still has good food, however, they have just become greedy like the airlines and other money grabbers. For being one of the priciest restaurants in Bend, they now charge 3% to the bill for "credit card fee". For a bill of $250 (for 2 people) they add 3% ($7.50). For their very high prices you would think they could "absorb" that fee and not blatantly just add it on an already hefty tab. ....it's just the principle of it, "nickel-and-dime" the customer when the drinks and food are already some of the highest in town. read more

We came here after pulling into Bend very late and were pleasantly surprised. Everything was packed with flavor - from the perfectly cooked filet to the Caesar salad. It has everything you want from a classic steakhouse without being too stuffy. It felt more homey and neighborly than fancy- which I appreciated. We also got the beef pasta and the grilled prawns. The only sub-par meal I've had was actually my first time there. Big thanks to the bartender Rod, I stopped in just to grab a beer with a friend one day and mentioned the SR ribeye I had wasn't good, he recommended I try their regular ribeye and he was exactly right!!! It's good regular and also good blackened, if you're early enough and they still have scalloped potatoes they're fantastic. After a rocky start this is definitely my favorite steakhouse in Bend, ambiance makes me feel like I'm in the Rat-Pack, especially when the manager stops in to check on our table, it's subtle and somehow he never disturbs us or interrupts conversation, honestly don't know how he does it. I've been here twice and both times I've ordered the seafood pasta because it's absolutely delicious! I love the generous amount of seafood that is in this dish and for the price it's perfection. Tonight was such a lovely experience. Found this place after 7 hours of pickleball. Greeted warmly and was seated in cozy booth with inside vibe hitting. I have to start by saying "Bri" was the best server ever. She was so amazing and engaging. A smile the size of the Grand Canyon. She made us feel at home and a part of the family. Can't wait to go back. She made our night and the experience was worth it all. Started with the seared sea scallops. Delish. Followed by kitchen split wedge salad and the warm sour dough bread. I ordered the blackened ribeye and it was a perfect 10. Bri brought me a side of bordelaise sauce, yum. My partner ordered the seafood pasta and let me tell you there was everything from the ocean swimming in that pasta. So much sea food. Yummy Let me not forget the best dessert of my lifetime, which was a Marion Berry cobbler. The top was a candied oat crumble, followed by amazing Marion Berry topped with Tillamook ice cream. To be honest, I was worried about dining here after I read the the three recent reviews. I am delighted to report I did not find any of the three previous reviews to be accurate in my dining experience. The staff were VERY welcoming and friendly. Our server was kind and attentive. They offer an EXTENSIVE wine list...for viewing on an iPad. We ordered the steak tartare, which was was tasty. It is a repeatable appetizer!!!!!! I had the filet mignon with dungeness crab Oscar and my husband had the peppered New York strip. My entree was amazing and the mashed potatoes were decadent. OMG! Made reservations ahead of time to celebrate my gf's dinner when her best friend got into town. Last time the earliest we were able to get a reservation here wasn't until 8p and we ended up canceling so really wanted to check this spot out this time. We got here slightly earlier than our reservation time but was accommodated and seated promptly. I wish i remembered our servers name because she was awesome. Loved her energy and we had zero complaints about her level of attentiveness and enthusiasm. On to the food - for appetizers we ordered crab cakes and baked Brie. Ok... first off I like Brie but I'm not crazy about it but for some reason baked Brie was un-Brie-livably delish! For my main meal I ordered the peppercorn breaded NY steak. OmGggggggg the best steak I've had in a long time! Cooked to perfect and every bite melted in my mouth. I was sad that I couldn't finish it cuz i was so full. We were passing through Bend and looking for a good steak.. we got the NY with pepper sauce, mashed potatoes and veggies.. steak was very good. We also tired the boneless short rib which was also very good with mashed potatoes and veggies.. we also had the beet salad which was tasty but this version have maybe one beet and the rest arugula and other greens Over all the food was very good and ambiance nice.. service was also good! There were about 8 green onion flakes huddled together at the bottom of the potato and a tablespoon of sour cream on the side, basically empty! The vegetables were less than lukewarm with no seasonings....The steak was good though. The server was very nice but disappeared for far too long and the Ambiance was like a coffee shop, Spent $323 dollars BEFORE the tip for 4 ppl with no alcohol drinks, so I'm feeling pretty ripped off at this point. Breathing very heavy while writing this review because I'm absolutely painstakingly full! However, I wanted to write this review while freshly overly satisfied! Lindsey was our host for the evening. Navigating us to our stupendous choices! Let's start from the top! DRINKS! A coworker of mine order the Huckleberry Lemon Drop, and I ordered the Pear Moscow Mule. Both delicious! I tasted her lemon drop and it had a nostalgic taste of Blueberry Sour Patch, in the most positive and delicious way. The Pear Moscow Mule was absolutely delicious, perfectly balanced and cut that strong ginger taste the mule traditionally has. Next up Appetizers. I didn't get to make this choice because it honestly wouldn't have been my go to pick but we split the Brie. It was good, a nice creamy brie with seasoned toast, roasted garlic and grapes. It was very good but honestly you can get brie anywhere.... Try something more exciting! *DRUM ROLL PLEASE* Now the stars of the show...... well, it's close between the entree and the dessert. But entrees, Lindsey was very helpful with this selection. She read the specials and had me at lamb. I ordered the lamb chops, with mashed potatoes and asparagus. We were traveling for work and sometimes I look for an item that has mashed potatoes just for that simple comfort food. Their mashed potatoes were delicious like they make them better than I do.... And I make scrumptious mashed potatoes. But we are really here to talk about the lamb chops! Ordered medium and cooked to absolute perfection. I was glad we were in the back room because I picked these meat lollipops up and ate them right off the bone, you know to get all the good stuff! The portion was huge! I managed to get down a little more than half but this meal should really be for 2! I even ordered another cocktail to you know work up that liquid courage to try and finish my plate.... It didn't happen but I felt terrible wasting it. One coworker ordered the Salmon, and another the filet. I'm sorry I don't have a ridiculous description for these other than they both kept saying "Oh my god, this is so good!" None of us were able to finish our meal but you know what!?! It was Monday night so that means dessert! One coworker the whole dinner kept talking about Crème brûlée, the other was like eh I don't what that, let's see what this Hula pie is about..... ok, I was assuming from the name it was going to be some kind of coconut or pineapple pie. Delicious I'm sure but not what we had in mind. We asked Lindsey she said oh the Hula Pie is my favorite do that one!!! So what did we do? We ordered both! The Brickhouse was our last stop of the night after visiting some wonderful breweries in Bend. (Yes, we were walking). Fiancé wanted steak for dinner but I know her, there was no way she could put away a 17oz Rib Eye, nor could I. So we decided to share it, along with two other appetizers to share. And let me tell you what, I was NOT disappointed. Both, the Pork Belly and Scallops were so tender and seasoned just right. Pretty sure I could have made a mea with just those two. Then the entree shows up, the 17oz Rib Eye steak. First cut into it and it was cooked to our likely, medium rare. Like our appetizers, the steak had just the perfect amount of seasoning that no sauce was needed. Don't judge me, but I like some kind of sauce with my steak. The service was fantastic as well. Prime Rib on Saturdays is my favorite thing in Bend! My wife gets the Beef Tenderloin Pasta and says it is one of her favorite dishes shes ever had! Mashed potatoes are always delicious! They have my favorite whiskey and wife's favorite wine! Service is always amazing and food comes out quickly and on point! For dessert the Chocolate Lava cake is the best!! Sadly, no pictures! But had to give a huge shout out to BRICKHOUSE! My husband and I went there for my bday / our anniversary and last date night before our baby comes and it was FABULOUS. For starters, they made a wonderful virgin peach Bellini for me and it was one of the better mocktails I've had while pregnant. We also indulged on the crab cakes and clam chowder and the chowder was out of this world!! Perfectly creamy, seasoned well and we actually loved it more than the crab cakes (which were also good, but a little too much red pepper for my taste). Dinner we had the beef tenderloin pasta and the short ribs and both were incredible. Just fall apart beef and perfectly rich, well cooked and delicious. My wife and I celebrated my birthday on August 25, 2024. I was warmly greeted with a "happy birthday" by the hostess (in my reservation I indicated it was my birthday). What a bonus that the hostess did not have a nose ring or visible tattoos! So rare to see this in a Bend restaurant. Our server, Samantha, was awesome. We could not have asked for better service. And yes, no nose ring or visible tattoos - I love it! We started with bread and salads. I had the Caesar and my wife ordered the beet salad. Both were delicious. While I greatly respect the Brickhouse wine program I had a really special bottle of my own, which was lying on its side for 11 years and was ready to drink. The corkage is $35, which is well worth it for a special bottle. Samantha took care of decanting and pouring. Here's a tip - if you are going the corkage route and have something nice offer a splash to your server. For dinner my wife ordered the 8 oz bacon-wrapped filet with baked potato and broccolini, while I had the 17 oz ribeye with mashed potatoes and broccolini. It was all outstanding. We were so stuffed we turned down their offer of a Marion berry dessert. It was a Sunday evening and the restaurant was doing great business. I definitely recommend Brickhouse! read more
