My rating is basically based on the wine options. Good selection of wines but an $18 corkage fee is ridiculous. Please consider zydeco as an option to this restaurant. No corkage fee if you bring in Washington or Oregon wines. $10 otherwise. Being in the wine business I have never seen a charge this ludicrous. read more

Was excited to find a nice place in Redmond. But don't bother. We waited 15 minutes at our table to be given water or asked for a drink. The waitress was rude and the steak was bland. The prices are high enough you would expect a superb steak. Too bad, the atmosphere is nice, but that's it. Diego's across the street is much better tasting and nice if you like upscale mexican. If you are looking for a steakhouse make the drive to Bend and go to the Blacksmith...it is fabulous all the way around. But make reservations there..you won't be disappointed. read more

Excellent food for the type of restaurant it is. This is not the fanciest but they offer all of the service and ambience you would find in some of the best steak restaurants. The service is exceptional but if anything goes back for any reason make sure to repeat any special request. Overall, it is worth the price and is a great choice for Bend dining. Hands down the best meal we have had in a restaurant in many many years. Staff and the meal were over the top. It was our 47th anniversary so it really made it nice to be able to relax and enjoy a full 3 course meal. The gentleman that was our server was outstanding and his suggestions and service was excellent. Very much worth the price we paid. We will definitely return. We went here for the first time tonight and we had the most wonderful experience! We were immediately seated and given menus, drinks and water. Our server, Leslie, was friendly, knowledgable, and attentive. She gave great suggestions. We shared the wedge salad with bacon bits and blue cheese. One was plenty for both of us. For our entrees we ordered steaks which were cooked to perfection! The steaks were accompanied by fresh, crisp, perfectly cooked mixed vegetables, and a delicious baked potato. After dinner we chose freshly brewed coffee, bananas foster and Marion berry cobbler with vanilla bean ice cream. This was our anniversary dinner and we appreciate everyone at The Brickhouse for making it such a special evening!!! read more

We have eaten at the Brickhouse several times and although it is pricey, the food is excellent and worth not driving to Bend for. However, the last time we went, they decided to leave off the vegetables and charged the same high price. The drinks were more than usual as well. We will not be going back. read more

We live locally and between girls nights and dinner with the hubby and friends we have been to The Brickhouse on several occasions. Our recent experience left us extremely disappointed. We were waited on by Jeff, and although it was not overly busy our larger party seemed to be a bother. He was outwardly rude when one in our party did not receive her meal with the rest of the party, she waited 15 minutes for chicken the he adamantly claimed was under coked, not left off the ticket. We would have spent more money on drinks and desert if we had not almost literally had to force him to stop and take drink and desert orders. Our large party was charged the standard 18% gratuity although he most defiantly did not earn this. one person in our party who was especially frustrated removed the gratuity for a lesser amount only to check his bank statement and find Jeff had disregarded this and billed him the entire 18%, theft of non-services if you ask me. The food was superb, as was the company and occasion, however we will think twice, and it will be awhile before we return to The Brickhouse. The Moral of the story is Jeff will not be getting our business again, you may want to request another staff member as well. read more

Terrible!! the worst management. the young "manager" is walking around in her tight skirts and high heels doing nothing. NOT a good place to work or eat. VERY expensive for small portions. the owners are also very disrespectful with and there is very low employee moral. read more

We went there for our anniversary my wife had the cod and it was mush had no flavor. I had the prime rib steak it was a quarter inch thick and five inch's a round and had no flavor at all. it was one of the worst dinners we have had. Do not mind paying $38 for a good steak and a baked potato. The potato was good. read more

Not impressed. My husband and I just moved to the area and decided try this place out the other night. The hostesses seemed very disorganized. With a reservation they attempted to seat us in the corner very uncomfortably surrounded by other tables, and when I asked if we could have a different table I was told the other tables were reserved. We did end up getting a better table, but I believe it was only because they couldn't fit an extra chair in that corner (though I may be wrong, but that is what it looked like to me). Once seated we got our drinks 30-40 minutes later, and a little over an hour after seated we were told the cook didn't see our ticket. So about an hour & a half later we got food. My husbands tiny seafood pasta didn't have all that the menu said (missing prawns, the best part). They offered to buy him dessert, but we just wanted out of there by then. They discounted my husbands dish by half instead. I don't like complaining as I used to be in the restaurant industry myself, and I know everyone has bad days...I probably still wouldn't have if they compensated a little better, it was a terrible night out that I still spent a large amount for with their prices which is frustrating. Too many pieces fell apart, and no I won't be back, not to say it wasn't just a bad day for them, but still not impressed at all. read more

new resident of Redmond...went on a recommendation...was seated facing the hostess station where spent thirty minutes watching her constantly play with her hair.... after a thirty minute wait, the $16 cheeseburger, specifically ordered medium came out blood raw....not rare,... RAW...a different server then began arguing with me about how it was cooked...was then asked to wait another thirty minutes for a replacement, which was unacceptable...I then asked for the TOTAL bill and that the inedible entrée be wrapped for my dog...presented with a bill for the $7 salad while staff had a long discussion within earshot...again asked for TOTAL bill and server argued with me...informed him I would not leave with something I had not paid for...he then followed me out the door making comments about how my dog might have better taste than I ...will not be returning or recommending to anyone read more

This is the place to go for special events, such as birthdays and anything else "big" going on in your life! When I made a reservation, I was clear that we'd be bringing in my mom for a special birthday meal and of all the options in Redmond/Bend, we chose the Brickhouse as THE place to celebrate. Our server, Debbie, was perfect--calm, kind, and acknowledged the reason for us being there: my mom! I felt we were treated with such grace and elegance! The food was beyond delicious and while the prices are way beyond what we can afford on a regular basis, we left knowing we had a true "experience." The halibut and salmon were prepared perfectly. I only wish that both a potato AND a vegetable side were part of the package. For the prices, seems like adding a true veg side would not be a big deal. Other than that, request Debbie as your server and you'll be treated like royalty. This is a superb place, with a very nice ambiance to enjoy a meal. read more

After hearing good things about this steakhouse we decided to eat at this restaurant to celebrate our birthdays. What a huge disappointment it was. The service was very poor - very slow & I think we were the only people eating dinner at the time. It was around 6 pm and the server assured me the baked potatoes were good -- which you would think at 6 they should be good -- nope - mine was over baked -- tasted over baked & was rubbery. The server did replace it with some mashed yams -- which were probably better the day before. I ordered my steak medium well & it was rare. For $29 I got a steak & about 5 sprigs of broccoli & some bread. My husbands steak was better as was his potato. He got the broccoli too & bread & I think his steak was $30. No salad (extra $$$$). We ordered an appetizer which was OK but again overpriced for what we got. To top it off we wanted to use a gift card to pay for part of our meals and it didn't work -- the server said "sometimes they work & sometimes they don't". My wife and I have eaten at Brickhouse two times in the past year, and both times there were problems with the meal. The first time a member of our party ordered a Filet Mignon medium rare. On arrival the filet was cooked well done. On our second visit my wife ordered the same steak, a Filet Mignon. This time the steak arrived burned on the outside, and even more insulting the meat was plated with the burned side down, as if to hide the fact it was over cooked. When the server brought my wife the replacement it was cold and purple on the inside, a health hazard if consumed. On both occasions the server replaced the steak, however by the time it was made correctly, the rest of the diners were finished with their meals and on to dessert. At the prices they charge, one would expect them to be able to get it right the first time! Save your money and find a quality establishment that will get your order correct. read more
