HUGE disappointment. I have dined here previously,but it has been over a year ago and found it satisfying at that time. This time I am convinced I will never be back. The Parmesan encrusted halibut was overcooked and not that savory. My dining partner ordered the Tempura seafood platter which was NOT tempura but simply beer battered and deep fried and overdone! Our server,when she was at our table was pleasant but took forever to take our order and our wait time for our meal to be plated and served was totally unacceptable. Server was fast and friendly but did not know wine nor cocktails. The bar menu had just a few choices but there is a huge amount of bottles on the wall behind the bar. They are missing out with the tiny drink menu and not training servers. This is Oregon, know what wineries your "by the glass" wines come from. Know what tequila is in the featured margarita too. I don't know if they even sell wine by the bottle... My Chicken Marsala was quite good, a big portion and reasonably priced at $19 but their steaks are overpriced and should come with a salad and veggie not have them be $8-10 extra...each.... We found this place based on reviews and the proximity to Eagle Crest. The wine selection was extensive. They had a number of Northwest wines that most places wouldn't carry. (Three different bottles of Syrah from K Vintners) In addition to the wine, we had a mix of steak and seafood at the table. The Ahi Tuna was perfectly seared and delicious. Each steak was cooked to order and very tender. The only downside was the noise level on a busy night. If you are looking for a good place to eat without the drive to Bend, this is a great restaurant. read more

Dinner on a busy Saturday night. Service was prompt, appropriate and friendly, and yet made us feel like they had all the time in the world. The only reason I'm giving them 4 is because once upon a time, my shrimp was a little over cooked and not tender the way it should have been in my fettuccine. It only happens once, the prior time shrimp was ok. The scallops have been great, as well as their steaks, and a mind blowing pork chop! The dessert was super good as well and quite the portion. Me, my father and his girlfriend travel the west coast on a regular basis and quite frequently eat steak so I may say that we are "professionals" when it comes to meat. It seems to be that no matter where we go, Brickhouse always seems to top the competitor. It's in a top tier catagory with the likes of Ruth Criss and others. The only thing that bothers me is that they don't carry A1 or Heintz steak sause. I wish they would add these to the menu as they are a steak house. Would recomend. read more

I went to the Brickhouse on Friday April 7th with a group. The groups bill averaged $50 a plate with less than one drink each, not including tip. I would not usually eat at a place that charges this much. But the food was great and the service was outstanding. read more

All I need to say is WOW!!!!!! My husband and have eaten at the Brickhouse in Redmond and Bend at least a dozen times and it is always AWESOME! This means a lot, coming from my husband, because he spent 7 years in the restraurant business and I seriously call him a chef, which he hates, but....he knows food and when we have a chance to go to dinner, The Brickhouse is his first pick 95% of the time! This is one of my favorite places to eat. Last night we were part of a group of 5. Two of us ordered the salmon. We both thought it was very good. However, we both got sick later that evening. No one else in our group were sick. We believe it was the Salmon. Makes me sad. read more

Absolutely the best food and service in Redmond!! Prime grade beef as good or better than the Met in Seattle. Servers are fun and the bartender knows how to pour a drink and they have a phenominal wine selection. Definitely the place to go for fine dining in a casual atmosphere. read more

First off this steakhouse is a medium to expensive restaurant. Steaks are around $30-40. The building interior is faceted in reclaimed brick, beautiful wilderness paintings line the walls. The food wasn't spectacular, as a matter of fact I've eaten better at the Olive Garden. My wife got the chicken Marsala and I got the steak burger-medium. My wife's chicken was boiled and lacked any real flavor and the noodles were odd. The meat was a combination of mushy and chewy but at least it was cooked all the way through. The burger was over cooked and lacking any unique taste. Having asked for medium I was disappointed to eat a well done burger. The service was good no complaints there, they were a little busy but managed to get to all of us in a reasonable amount of time. It was my mother in laws birthday and they gave her a complimentary fudge ice cream slice of cake. Which was delicious and a great touch and end to the evening. Drinks were about average $9-9.5 but good and strong. read more

We live in Redmond and would like to see the Brickhouse thrive. Unfortunately, we have been disappointed several times. We had dinner there on 6/29/16 for our anniversary. My husbands steak was terrible! Fatty and inedible. His baked potato must have been over cooked in the microwave! Came up from San Jose, CA today and found this restaurant on the internet. What an amazing find. Located on the main street and for a Thursday nite, it was pretty busy. DId not have reservations, but Jody the hostess was very pleasant and seated us immediately. Our waitress Jo gave us recommendations for our food. It turns out that probably anything we ordred would have been great. The owner Jeff came out and met with us. We ordered filet tips for an appetizer and the halibut along with salad for our main menu. Surprisingly the portions were large and the fish was very fresh. We ended our meal with the lava cake. They also had a binder full of their alcoholic drinks available. If we ever return to Redland Oregon, this would be the place we would eat at. They also have a pretty good Happy Hour everyday from 4 - 6pm with a very reasonable appetizer menu. read more

I love most food but this place was special. The appetizer was a chicken skewer with a Thai peanut butter curry type thing with just the right amount of spice and very good chicken cooked perfect. I hate to do this but when you actually get sick from the food you eat I think someone needs to know. My Wife and I had been looking forward to this evening out with friends for a long time now, our friends and clients wanted to take us out to dinner. We had been to the Brickhouse a couple of years ago and I thought ok sounds like a fun night out. I ordered the Battered seafood platter. From the first nite I knew something was not right. It looked like just a bunch of batter to be honest. The first bite of the shrimp was just nasty. it actually tasted rancid. The Scallops were raw, the onion thing that went with it did not make sense at all and was no better than an onion ring. It did not take me long to actually start feeling sick to my stomach. I never complain about food as I have never been picky and will pretty much eat anything but I can honestly say that this was the worst meal I have ever had in my life. The platter cost 37.00, with a salad which was also just lettuce with dressing was the best part of the meal, add a glass of wine and mine alone came to probably 50.00. I know for fine dining that is pretty cheap and I do not mind paying for a really great meal but seriously I got sick from this meal. I did not want to say anything to our friends who were not saying much about their food either, one of our friends got a Filet that was suppose to be medium and it was raw, my wife got a filet and although it tasted pretty good it was also raw. I had been looking at the prices and was really glad that I did not order a 45.00 Rib eye even though that is my all time favorite cut of meat. As I said above I really hate to post this type of review for a local business but also as I sad above this was the worst meal I have ever had in my life. I spent 8 years in the military and have eaten pretty much all kinds of really bad food, this topped all of those meals as the worst. Please step up Brickhouse and live up to what I know you are capable of doing. Money is hard earned and this is something we do no do very often so I hope this helps you look over what you are serving. read more

We just went to Brickhouse for the first time to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had reservations for 5:30 and were promptly seated when we arrived at that time. No bread or other 'munchie' was offered. After finally ordering our drinks 20 minutes later, we sat for another nearly 20 minutes waiting to place our order. One of our party asked for a refill on his beverage. 15 minutes later, I caught the waitresses eye and reminded her about his drink. She mumbled something about it 'being really busy at the bar', yet came back in less than a minute with the drink. Overall the service was lackluster, to say the least, and very slow on top of that. Being a special occasion, I ordered the "Kobe" beef New York steak priced at $5 per OUNCE with a 10 ounce minimum. I was VERY disappointed. The meat I received was bland with no marbling, unless you count the thick band of inedible connective tissue that ran through the meat. I could have picked up something from the local grocery for a LOT less money that would have been MUCH more satisfying and edible. I ordered scallops as an addition for $15. They were good tasting but had some grits. At $5 each, I expected better. My wife ordered the Lamb, and pronounced it to be 'good'. She also ordered prawns as a side, and they were magnificent! Our friend ordered the Rib Eye Steak, which he said was 'good, but not great'. His vegetables, like mine, were cold on arrival and nearly raw after insufficient blanching. Our friend's date ordered the Clam Chowder, and though she tried, finally gave up, calling it over-salted and 'gross' in general. They split a cheesecake slice and we split a creme brule dessert. Both were good. Overall, we found the Brickhouse to be grossly overpriced for what we received, service was very slow and nonchalant, and the restaurant, with all of it's hard surfaces, amplified the normal din and clatter to unacceptable and painful levels. We will NOT be going back. Call it a $200 lesson in not-so-fine dining! read more

Should have been better, but the staff made assumptions about us and fell far short of what others probably received. If we had come in after work, in our professional garb we might have been treated differently. But having just played in the Lava National Monument and driven to Redmond, we weren't in our Sunday best. We indicated to the hostest that we were there for Happy Hour, and then immediately she showed us two table options, neither of them preferable, and no where near the bar. We immediately felt ostracized. Whatever, we were there to make the best of it. Then, a server peeks around a partition and asked if we are "walk-ins or reservations" if felt like saying how about paying customers, but woulda, coulda, shoulda..... Food was good, martinis were good, service was good, but the long look down too many noses was bad, really really bad. The Red Martini down the block was a much better choice. read more

Overpriced and disappointing. The baked brie & roasted garlic appetizer was a huge letdown... the cheese was cold and rubbery (not properly aged, nor even noticeably baked), the garlic clove (and everything else) was drizzled in a sticky balsamic, so to pick up the head of garlic to try to extract the tiny little cloves meant getting my hand covered with papery garlic skin. When I complained, the waitress brought a warm hand towel so I didn't have to suffer through the entire meal in this state, but, really!!! We also ordered a side of "sauteed mushrooms", which were domestic mushrooms swimming in an unidentified dark brown gravy which looked like it had been concocted from one of those little packets you get at the grocery store. Simply horrible. We didn't finish either appetizer. The salads were little plates of lettuce and a slab of lifeless tomato with a few shrimp on top-- uninspired and not worth seven dollars. The entrees were decent-- my chicken piccata was perfect, and the sides were okay, if rather pedestrian. Dessert: do not make our mistake of ordering the marionberry cobbler. It comes in a shallow dish covered with... Bisquick dumpling? Ugh. The wait staff was attentive and polite, but service very slow considering what we ended up waiting for... it took one hour and 45 minutes from start to finish to consume this expensive and unmemorable food. read more

This restaurant is in a small town . . .and they are charging NYC pricing. I've been around for a long time, well-traveled, and have lived in Bend and Redmond, OR. Use to go to the Brickhouse in Bend, then they moved and pricing went through the roof. First time at the one in Redmond. I ordered one of the cheaper items on the menu (a petite fillet) and that was $30. Husband had a 8 oz size fillet and that was $45. Of the items mentioned by server as SPECIALS of the night, there was nothing under $39 and one piece of meat was $69! It's just a steak, cooked normally; no garnish; just baked potato and came with ordinary green beans. We brought wine, but there was an $18 corkage fee for that, and $10/ea for a glass of poor Prosecco. with tip we spent $123. And if that wasn't enough, there were only 2 people sitting at the bar fondling each other. I'm sorry, but if they're going to charge these prices marketing to an "everyone welcome" atmosphere, I find it very inappropriate to have 2 people practically in my face needing to 'get a room.' So gross. Meanwhile, great grandma and grandpa were seated across from us trying to enjoy their evening out, thankfully they were facing away from the bar, or oh boy, what a show they'd have gotten. This dinner was my husband's idea for our 34 wedding anniversary. The server was very good, hence the tip. She was training another server (on a Sat. night) who followed her around like a baby duck. We ate at Brickhouse, Tues. evening, Aug. 12. What was good - The julienne vegetables that came with my entree - fresh, lightly steamed, Also, the marionberry cobbler a la mode - not too sweet, a little tart, enough fruit, not too much thickening. This was the best part of the meal. I love fish and seafood. I will have to say this was the worst seafood meal I have ever had bar none. It was listed on the entree as Tempura Seafood - with Prawns, Scallops, True Cod. Please note the plural. The waitress listed several choices of starch. Of the voices, I chose scalloped potatoes to accompany my meal. It was clearly not a tempura dish. Tempura is not greasy, is l ight and crisp and uses panko crumbs for a coating. This was deep-fired in a flour coating. It was greasy. overcooked, and greasy and greasy. It included one prawn, one/half or one-third scallop (It came as a thin slice of what was once a whole scallop sliced into thin slices and apparently pounded to make it look wider as it had holes in it, and a piece of "true" cod. It also came with two large deep fried onions rings. I had asked whether the scalloped potatioes contained onions or garlic as I am allergic to them. You would have thought that would have alerted the waitress to either leave them out or mention that the dish came with large onion rings, I assume they were included to make the dish look more substantial as they were not mentioned in the description of the entree on the menu. The cod was okay though a relatively small serving. The presentation was not appetizing - i.e. the greasy appearance was part of that, and the seafood concoction was plopped on top of the scallloped potatoes which were also greasy and unappetising looking. I regret not sending this entree back as outside the vegetables, it was not pleasing either in taste or appearance and defiinitely deceptive in regard to the description as tempura and amount. Very expensive for what it included. I learned a huge lession - ask for detailed specifics about the dish - what does prawn(s0 mean, what does tempura mean, specifically what is inlcuded in the description, how is it presented. Send it back even if you're with a group of firends and don't want to create an unpleasant scene. And Never Ever eat here again read more
