    Smashburger

Brickhouse Tavern was a great first experience. I love the setup of the Tavern. I like how the bar side is separate. The server was fine star from start to finish. The waitrress was friendly and patient with my table of four. First of all, the menu had so many great options that I could not figure out what I actually wanted this time so I opted for the smashburger...great choice. When I looked at the other people's dishes at my table, I could have ordered all of them. I will definitely be back.

It had been years since I had been here. I really do enjoy the earthy and dark ambience. It seems to be a place geared toward the college crowd. We didn't have to wait long to be seated. Our waitress did a decent job of meeting our needs. Her approach wasn't quite polished though so I think she was just fairly new to the task. Just the little things like not introducing herself and having to be asked for To Go boxes and water refills could be improved upon. My daughter and I went here to celebrate Father's Day. We started with a spinach and artichoke dip appetizer which was delicious and had big chunks of artichoke. Then we both ordered pizzas which were really good. We could only eat a few slices and had to have boxes for the rest. I recommend this place though. It's a nice casual spot with a good beer selection and great pizza.

Brick Oven Quesadilla Asked for the chicken to be tossed in buffalo sauce!

This space is really large so it's usually good for a crowd, and little wait time. I love bringing family here because a lot of them are picky and the menu is diverse bar food. My go to is the quesadilla made with their pizza dough. It's stretched thin so it isn't like a calzone, and I ask them to toss the chicken in buffalo sauce. It's delicious! They serve coke products which is my preferred soda, and the beer list is great. Our server this time around took care of our large 8 person party with ease. Never missed a refill and every order was correct. We will be back!

Our second time here because it was so good last time. We ordered a pizza tonight, a Caesar salad, spinach artichoke dip, chicken wings and a bowl of chili. Everything was delicious, especially the wings and the chili.

This was our first time here, and it's a very nice venue. To start, their coffee is delicious and strong. I had the Double Up, with scrambled eggs (with added cheddar), bacon, sausage links, sourdough toast, and fruit. My husband had the Short Rib Hash with a side of potatoes. He forgot the hash also had potatoes, and should have gotten something else, because he had far too many potatoes! My scrambled eggs were a little over cooked and the cheese was only melted on top (rather than being mixed in), but they were still decent. The bacon was perfectly crispy--as requested, and the sausage links were fine. The sourdough toast was buttered and delicious. And the fruit had watermelon--a nice addition to the usual fruit cup. My husband's short rib hash was good. The eggs were perfectly medium, but the potatoes were a bit salty. Easy Like Sunday still makes our favorite version of this dish. Our server was very pleasant, and the wait wasn't too long for our food. I loved that we could pay with ApplePay via the Toast handheld. While everything wasn't perfect, we'll definitely return and try some different items. I want to try them for dinner, too!

The nachos and dips were excellent. The salsa was tasty and the appetizer also came with a side of fresh guacamole and pimento cheese. The filet mignon was top-notch & cooked to perfection. I got the grouper special with a side of lemon butter sauce and crab. Absolutely delicious. The place is modern with a cool vibe. The only thing that took away from the experience was that it was very loud & noisy - the restaurant was packed and they had music playing on top of that so it was a bit much. There were a lot of servers helping with water refills and being very attentive. The customer service was excellent. Amanda brought out a brownie with ice cream with a candle on top when the birthday boy was outside taking a phone call, so she left her lighter so I could light the candle when he came back. It was these small touches that really made the evening special along with the fantastic food.

I also ordered the off-the-menu Garden Lemon Drop, and it's an absolute must-have for me every visit. It's refreshing, delicious, and one of my favorite cocktails anywhere. My mom ordered the salmon, and she said it was fresh, light, and very filling. 131 continues to be my go-to steakhouse. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Despite having reservations, the arrival and seating process felt disorganized. Our server was very friendly and sweet, but she was also somewhat aloof, rarely checked on us, and didn't seem particularly knowledgeable about the kitchen or menu. She mentioned at least five times that they had a new chef and that the menu had become "eclectic." In retrospect, that should have been a warning. Unfortunately, we did not have a single item of food that we would order again. At this price point, that is unacceptable--especially when outstanding premium restaurants such as Seaboy are literally just down the road. We started with a fried rice-ball appetizer and a mozzarella plate. Both desperately needed seasoning and were surprisingly bland. My Caesar salad was tiny, limp, and somehow almost entirely flavorless. My wife ordered a fried game-bird entrée--quail, if I remember correctly. I can't say exactly what went wrong in the kitchen, but the coating had the stale-oil flavor of McDonald's fries discovered three months too late. The accompanying sauce was murky, visually unappealing, and did absolutely nothing to rescue the dish. I love fried chicken, and even I couldn't eat hers. When our server cleared the plate, approximately 95% of the entrée was still sitting there. The server asked if my wife didn't like it, and she commented that it was not very good and explained why, yet they did not offer to make any changes or even discount that part of the bill which felt like a significant missed opportunity to address an obviously unsuccessful dish. I ordered the trout. Even allowing for the smaller portions common at upscale restaurants, it was one of the smallest entrées I have ever been served. Unfortunately, it didn't deliver enough flavor or refinement to make up for its size. By the time dessert was offered, we had no interest in spending more money after being disappointed by the appetizers, salads, and entrées. The beautiful historic home, atmosphere, and front-porch dining remain fantastic. Sadly, the food and overall experience no longer lived up to that wonderful setting. Our first visit was mind-blowing. This visit ensured that we won't return. Unless a massive sign appears out front announcing new management, a new chef, new staff, and an entirely new everything, we will spend our future anniversary dinners elsewhere. To those about to nosh, you have been warned.
