Very disappointed with the service. With a all u can eat it was like placing my order when I first gor there. Now the liver was pretty tasty just the service I received was poor. I asked for napkins several times close to end and still never received them. I believe on a Friday especially, they should have more than two servers and one cook. Had to order breakfast because of the shelter in place but this breakfast was cooked perfectly. I like my hashbrowns super crunchy (deep fried if possible) and they came out perfect. Over medium eggs sometimes are delivered over hard but these were perfectly cooked. Gigantic breakfast with 3 eggs, 6 sausage links, hashbrowns and toast yum. We went here to see what it was like ( outside looks can be really decieving so in we go. It was for breakfast ( on a weekend I believe) and the place is packed but they have waiters running around serving food like it's black Friday sale at Walmart. We get seated and a person ( presumably a waitress she was moving to fast for me to see) puts water juice (which she must have read telapathicly cause I don't remember ordering) and my coffee on the table. Then comes the food and it's a truckload. The food is delicious, there is enough on one plate to feed a small Air Force Base the only thing ( and this doesn't put me off at all) is it's a bit old. We use to stop here years ago and was great. We took a ride while SIP and was glad to see the cafe was still there. We love this place so much. We drive quite a way to come here fairly often. Murray, the owner is awesome-- fun guy. Destyne is our favorite server but everyone here is always so nice-- we love them all! The food is fabulous. Cinnamon rolls are fresh, hot, served with butter... delicious! Just had the best time here! Lusanna was our server and she was excellent! The owner came out and said hi, my aunt & her husband are regulars (you can tell by how everyone knew them). My aunt and her husband ordered the Pork Chop special (two 8 oz pork chops, 3 eggs, toast, and home fries) it was a ton of food! I ordered the blueberry banana homemade French toast, it was definitely home cooking! I tried it with syrup but ended up eating it without syrup because the flavor is phenomenal! I also got the full order of biscuits and gravy to split with my husband, it was good but I added more pepper, I should have asked for sausage gravy but I have left overs of the French toast and biscuits with gravy. Hubby got the Chili Cheese Omelet! I can admit I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was! 5 out 5 wheelchair accessibility. First time here definitely won't be the last where to start. I called to see if there was a long wait and the gentleman that answer the phone was great and he said "no no if it's just the two of you no problem!" ( Mother and I) We found the place It was packed. They had accessible parking right in the front. Now, if you have a larger wheelchair it might be a little tight but, manageable. We got in and there were tables for two people they sat us right away. Since it was busy, it took just a little bit of time to get to us but, that was no big deal. All the staff was super super friendly. They were all hustling and bustling to get to everybody filling up coffee cups and taking orders. The coffee was great! I really enjoyed it. I've been going to the bridgehead cafe, since I was a kid. I've always had good service and good food. Things changed with the new owners. I went with my husband and two friends and ordered burgers and garlic fries and of course the garlic fries were a dollar more. well, when our burgers and fries came. The fries were extremely salty and didn't even taste like garlic. I asked the waitress about them and she went in and asked about the garlic fries and she was told it's garlic salt! We couldn't eat them and we're not asked if we wanted different anything and the waitress said next time just ask for no salt. I also always get a patty melt. They are always nice and big and good. The new owners have a different idea of what a patty melt is. It's half the size that it was for the same price. It'll be a cold day in heck the next time I go, and the biscuits and gravy are nothing to be writing home about. read more

What a cool, old school little place! I have driven by this place for YEARS, and never really imagined it to had been anything particularly special, or worth checking out. Well, as the sang goes, don't judge a book by its cover, for you never know what charm you may discover...and this place was certainly charming. Located off E 18th street heading toward downtown Antioch, secluded by a less than attractive wire fence, this doesn't exactly strike you as a place you would eagerly anticipate to get your grub on ( at least aesthetically wise), but you surprisingly walk into what could almost be the set from the "Roseanne" show...totally dated back to the 80's, remaining untouched by society, for God knows how long; though unusually making you feel right at home and quite comfortable. It was open seating so, I grabbed a big leather booth table for my self. The seats were slightly uncomfortable, due to the slight sink-age occurring of years of abuse from butt after butt dining in. I was then given my menu from the very cheerful server. The menu provides the basics- omelets, pancakes, hashbrowns, sausage and eggs...ect. I ended up going with their California Omelet which consists of - Avocado, tomato, and bacon. I switched the bacon out for sausage and added swiss cheese. It comes with the standard hashbrowns and toast, however I just substituted it for fruit instead. I also had coffee. Coffee was good, and was always replenished. Omelet then arrived smaller in portion, though excellent tasting. Hearty, savory, and just dog gawn, good tell the last bite. The fresh strawberries were also vibrant in color, sweet, and delicious. Overall, I absolutely love the nostalgic feeling this place exudes, totally brings me back to the 80's. It also appeared to be clean. Definitely a hidden gem worth stopping for if you love greasy spoons. Small town hospitality, in a shall we call rustic little shack with just one window. I didn't notice it only has one window cause it was so small an orifice in the wood panel walls, barely any light came in. The parking lot is shared with a motorcycle shop so never mind the tough guy types around the back. I had the golden chicken strip dinner, and let me tell you they were the done right. I've been on a cruisade to find my golden chicken strips for at least two weeks. All if my experiences had been soggy, over cooked, under just plain sorry. The breakfast menu is huge and pretty awesome. An omelette lovers paradise if you like traditional greasy spoons. The corn beef hash was better than most, not dry or overcooked. They keep your coffee full, and the food comes out fast. Don't be offended if they remind you to tip, I think its pretty sleepy around there as they have a cemetery as neighbors to the south. Note worthy are the daily specials, some aren't cheap, but since when is all you can eat cod cheap? I haven't tried it but its worth checking out. I was so excited to go here after reading the reviews... However, it barely met my expectations for a "home style" breakfast eatery. We loved the outdoor seating, and our server was sweet, unfortunately the food didn't even compare to Black Bear Diner for us, and that says a lot. We don't typically support the chain food restaurants, and much prefer the more "home style", family ran, route. Here were the problems: Country fried steak and eggs, cheddar on the eggs, and toast- Country Fried Steak was your typical, under seasoned country fried steak. We expected to get home style gravy, real gravy, with bits of sausage and all, unfortunately it was more of what you would get out of a packet. The eggs came out missing the cheese, and when we mentioned this, the waitress disappeared with the plate and came back with unmelted shredded cheese placed on top, which cooled the food on the plate. We had to request hot food, which we got a little faster than you would think, if you know what I mean... Steak and eggs- Eggs were perfectly done. The steak had no flavor to it. So if you're looking for a piece of steak cooked to order, but with no added flavor, you'll be fine with this plate. Pancakes- now these were good. Crispy edges just how I like em!
