I've been goimg there for yesrs and aftrr the nrw owners took over, I received my first bad meal. There wss 4 of us and 3 had garlic fries wirh their order. It costs a dollar more for garlic. The fries were so salty that they were inetible and instesd of gsrlic, they put garlic salt! I always get a patty melt and it was 1/2 the size as usual. $10 each burger plus. read more

I have been going here for years, and the food and service never disappoints. My company (Central Exterminator) also provides monthly preventative pest control to make sure no bugs even touch foot in the kitchen for a second, so I'm always comfortable eating here! I definitely recommend asking about Tammy's Dessert options. She makes everything in the early mornings and they are always amazing. I've been coming to bridgehead since I was little. The ambiance and the nostalgia, the way they made you feel at home and the little random trivia cards they had are definitely long gone. This was a place my dad and I would come to eat every weekend. Unfortunately the food and the service isn't what it used to be. Ate here this morning and was very disappointed. Food didn't taste the same, service was slow(especially being a Sunday morning) and the ambiance is completely different. They had Atleast two or three cooks in the kitchen yet we waited a long time for our food- which came out cold. Highly disappointing. Toast, hash browns, eggs, biscuits and gravy- all cold. Bacon wasn't cooked right and the linguica tasted undercooked. I wish they'd bring the original owner back- he was sincerely the best cook, owner, and community friend. Time to find another breakfast spot unfortunately. read more

We had never even heard of this place till I posted on Next Door looking for liver and onion recommendations. Several people suggested Bridgehead in Antioch. We ordered a grilled chicken salad, the Philly chicken salad, liver and onions, and appetizers. For pickup. It was like down home cooking. The Philly chicken sandwich was huge and a big hit for flavor. The liver and onions had a delicious gravy but the serving was smaller than I expected, or it was good and I was hungry. Saw this place on Yelp based off of the reviews came to check it out and they were very welcoming the food was good the service was good we ate outside they practice social disting, they theid protocols was in place. PLEASE GO EAT HERE FOR BREAKFAST!! Stop doing to Denny's (especially the one in Antioch, no thanks!) or eating McDonalds. This place has cornered the market for diner breakfast in Antioch. I recommend old faithful pancakes or french toast. The french toast is Texas style, thick slices and so delicious. The offer flavors or sugar free syrup, and their orange juice is fresh. Imagine that!! I've actually only eaten lunch/dinner food there once, and I had a hamburger. It was delicious. My only complaint was the pickles were gross, and I am a huge pickle fan. But not many restaurants take the time to cut fresh pickles, so I don't hold it against them. Anything breakfast has been so great, and even they're coffee is so good! If you get sausage, I recommend the links, not patties. Omlettes are great, bacon is great, and the staff is awesome. It's the same owners since like 1976, a family, and they love what they do. As we pulled in to the parking lot i noticed the cafe is next to a cemetery? Not sure how i felt about it. Okee dookee. we had their breakfast. i had eggs, bacon and toast with potato with the skin on it, cant recall the name for it, but the potato with skin on was good, my first. The kids and hubby also enjoyed their meals. The kids were entertained by all the decor on the walls, old farming tools I believe. We saw a sign on the wall stating they have the best fried chicken in town or to that reference. We agreed to come back again next time to try their fried chicken. For the most part I feel like service is quick- especially if you get one of the older waitresses, they're on it! Coffee is always refilled often, whether is be from your server or the owner who walks around chatting with people. Orange juice tastes fresh... although the oj to me is a tad pricey w/no refills. This small diner has a lot of charm stemming from both the cute old timey interior, to the super friendly staff who sound like best friends as well as co-workers. The staff is definitely a huge part of what makes this place. Kim was our waitress and she was AWESOME. Within a minute of seating us she was taking our order. Her personality is just phenomenal. All the servers have a friendly, happy vibe. The food could have been better however. I ordered my burger rare and it came out well done. They also need to work on seasoning. My burger tasted like ground beef and that was all. I love that the burgers are obviously made in house, just use some salt and pepper please. Eggs Benedict $9.29 includes hashbrowns or home fries and toast. The Hollandaise sauce has more butter than I prefer and it doesn't have enough lemon zing. Tastes heavy and gets a bit sickening. They did poach the eggs well though. 2.5 stars. Biscuits and gravy portions are huge. Not any sausage chunks in it and tastes pretty bland. Full order is $3.79 or half order for $3.19. 3 stars Hashbrowns are a bit on the greasy side, comparable to IHOP's hashbrowns. Ham is the processed kind that is generally a bit dried since they usually overcook it a bit. Had breakfast today (sunday morning) parking lot was packed, only 3 people serving so it was pretty slow. Booths are small if you have to sit next to someone then when you're eating you have to tuck your elbows in. Coffee is $1.79 and water tastes slightly funny, not sure if it's the water or the ice cubes... This wouldn't be my first choice for breakfast if I had to pay full price, but with the coupon at least one meal is free, thus the bump up to 3 stars overall. read more

Now I feel like a local. I've lived in Antioch for about 6 years now and finally found a good local breakfast diner. The food is delicious, the service is incredible and the ambience is perfect on a Saturday morning. Very old school diner feel, which my whole family loves. There is something to be said about a place whose owner is serving food and going around the restaurant freshening up coffee cups. Yes, it's more expensive than IHOP, but you also get more quality food. The portions are massive and everything tastes homemade . We had the pancakes, biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, and breakfast burrito. We had enough left over to share for a late lunch. We loved it and the kids did too. Great little greasy spoon diner with really friendly staff and a good stock of traditional breakfast dishes that will leave you full and make you skip lunch. We had the biscuits drowned in delicious gravy with perfectly done hash browns. This place was really busy on a Sunday morning, but the service was quick, the food rich and tasty, and the patrons down-to-earth. Since we have been eating at the Bridgehead Cafe for years, and always happy with the service and food, I was very disappointed with what occurred yesterday. My fiancé and I decided to eat there for breakfast. Since he is disabled and uses a scooter it was easier for us to eat outside in the new patio than try and go inside. We arrived and found a table, realized we should probably let someone inside know we were there.I went inside and encountered a young girl with red hair and let her know we were outside. She seemed agitated and said I'll be outside in a minute in a very rude tone. I said "okay" and then asked if I could have a menu to look at in the interim. Her response even more rude was "No, I said I'll be out there in a minute". I was taken back, went outside and we left. We are in our seventies and did not appreciate being spoken to in such a manner. There are lots of restaurants we can spend our money at and I guarantee it will not be The Bridgehead Cafe. So sad, since when Murray owned the cafe it was always a pleasant experience. read more

Pros: Good food with very reasonable prices. What needs to change is a management issue regarding the delivery of ordered food to the customer. The food is cooked, ready to go to customer but it just sits on the counter getting cold. Wife and I were there today and saw three customer orders get sent back to get reheated. We also waited 28 minutes for our orders to arrive at our table. Regardless of reasons, a change needs to be made as there was enough staff to deliver to customers in a timely fashion. I saw an employee only busing tables and/or delivering coffee. All should multi task to get the orders to the customers as quickly as possible. read more
