Let me start by saying that we our server (I believe he was the owner) was very nice and provided us with great service. He was very attentive to asking if we needed anything else, refilled our water without us having to ask etc. I ordered the special, chicken parmesan. I am used to the chicken being fried and it wasn't although he told me that it wasn't when he described how it's prepared. It was good but not great. Hubby ordered the all you can eat spaghetti, again, good not great. It came with garlic bread which was good not great. The salad was really lackluster, just lettuce with a few carrots like that come from a bag prepackaged and a few crispy wonton strips with run of the mill out of the bottle dressing, blah and boring. Next time I would go with soup instead of salad. I just really liked the feeling of being at home and we both really liked the server. We won't go out of our way to come back but would like to, especially to try breakfast. Nice variety menu too. read more

The service was great. I made an order for pick up and added extra bacon. When I got home there wasn't any bacon in my container. I also ordered my blueberry topping on the side. I opened the container to find frozen blueberries. It was my first time there and I don't think I'll ever return. I wish I had a better experience. read more

Came here for breakfast and although the food was good, the service was not. If it wasn't for Murray himself I would of probably gave one star. After picking our seat - we were forgot about. We waited so long we got up and got our own menus. Our silver ware was dirty and the waitress said she would be back to replace it but instead went back grabbed silverware and gave it to a new customer that just sat down. It wasn't until we got our food that we saw her again (About 30-40 min later). Our drinks were empty and we kept waiting for the waitress to come back, but no luck. Another waitress kept coming to replace coffee, but because we didn't have any, she didn't even bother looking in our direction. Eventually Murray himself was coming around pouring coffee and he was the only one who came to OUR table and refilled our drinks. I had the corned beef hash with eggs which pretty good except the eggs were cooked wrong. My friend had the bone in ham with eggs which the ham was good but the potatoes were terrible. With all the great reviews - i guess I expected too much. Sadly to say I probably will not be back here. I love this place! There food is top notch, I could be here all day and rate everything I have tried so I will keep it simple. Everything here is a 4* or 5* This is what i have tried so far, heres a list of 4* foods first. Deluxe Breakfast, 3Texas Slices French Toast, Meatlovers Omelet, Philly Cheese Chicken Sandwich, 1/3 Jumbo Burger, Bowl of Chili, Breaded Veal Cutlet, Chicken Fried Steak with Country Gravy, Chicken Club. Those are all 4* meals and some of those meals have a bigger version of it! Heres all the 5* meals. Pork Chops and 3 Eggs, Chefs Surprise(potatoes,eggs,diced ham,bacon,onion cheese!) Smoked Brats&Eggs,Corned Beef Hash &2Eggs, Deep Fried Waffle, Cinnamon Roll French Toast, Chicken Sandwich(Fried), Santa Fe Melt(Grilled Sourdough 'w' Roast Beef Ortega Chilies & Jack Cheese),1/2Lb Burger, 1/3Lb Jumbo Chili Cheese Burger, Chili 'w' Cheese & Onions, Garlic Fries,Beer Battered Onion Rings, Murray's Bridgehead Brownie Sundae, Carrot Cake, Lemon Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Pecan Pie. basically everything here is to die for and I cant wait to go there again and again. This place is great! Murray ( the owner) takes great pride in his food and business and that is apparent as you will often find him going around the restaurant and chatting it up with all of his customers. I love this place! The food is excellent and owner is always there when we stop in for breakfast on the weekends and is super friendly. One of my favorite things to eat is there biscuits and gravy...I recommend getting a half order though because a full order is way too much food. There are also picnic tables in front of the restaurant in case you prefer eating outdoors. The food here is just above average it basic food like egg and sausages. However, it's cooked to perfection. I like the feel of this place; I grew up in here and it's like walking in a time capsule of Antioch history before it got super developed. This place is a little bit of country in suburbia. My husband and I had breakfast here and it was awesome. It's been a long time since I've eaten in a place that felt like my grandmothers kitchen. The atmosphere was like family and the food was fabulous. I know that some would prefer more salt in the food but for those of us that are on low to no salt diets I'm happy with their food. Im not going to give this long review. Wanted and ordered a BLT, NO HARD CRUNCHY BACON! Rcvd BLT. It was extra crunchy bacon, a whole sliced tomato, a troth of lettuce on slightly burned white toast. The Bridgehead Cafe is the best you can get when it comes to mom and pop eateries. It is small and quaint and the best family dining experience you can ask for. The food is home made, the staff are long termers and just as friendly as can be. When you come in, you are made to feel right at home. As a person of color you might feel intimidated when you first come in, but let me assure you there is no ill treatment or respect when it comes to this great group of people. The owner, Murray is very nice and hands on as well. The best bang for your buck will be the specials, especially the all you can eat specials of fish on Fridays and fried chicken on Saturday and Sunday. My favorite thus far is the cinnamon role french toast, chicken fried steak, and the biscuits and gravy. I am sure I will develop more as I continue to go. Good down home food. I was visiting town and a friend brought me for "brunch" I asked the servers favorite and got breakfast "the chefs special." The bigger waitress there put soap in my roast beef dip and made me sick with diarrhea. i took a napkin and fork from another table cause there was nothing on our table and it seemed to really tick her off. then my dip tastes different than the two other times i had been there and it had a slight white froth on top. cut to the first foamy explosive diarrhea of my life. I kinda want to go to the police but I don't have anyway to prove this. I feel pretty powerless. read more

Friendly and great food! People treat you like family.

This is a no frills, pat your belly, toothpick when your done, roadside honey. And they're getting harder to find! For me, I am not a fan of large chain frozen food breakfast eateries that when you leave the restaurant the little voice in your head says, "Now why did I eat that?" At this place the food is fresh and cooked to order. Now I haven't ordered anything (yet) here that I didn't enjoy. Last time in, my son dared me to eat the 10? egg omelette (I lost count, it might have been more). It was perfect. I ate half, took the other half to work. You know, it tasted better the second time I attacked it. Go figure. Anyway, the service is great, the coffee is good and your cup never goes empty without the waitress refilling it. Most of all, the people that come here are smiling and friendly. I stumbled onto this place a couple years back and really enjoy it. Hope it stays around for awhile. read more
