My friend and I finally made it to Bridges & Bourbon. I had been wanting to come here for a while. The space itself is gorgeous. It's warm and cozy with low lighting. This would be such a great date night spot, but it works well for a girls night out too! Our waiter was great and answered any questions we had. The drinks are the show stopper. They are presented in such a unique and beautiful way. My friend and I each ordered two different cocktails and not only were they pretty, they also tasted good too! We both ordered food as well. I had the scallops. This is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. The scallops were good, but I feel like the price point was steep for the portion. It was one of those meals where you go home and have a little snack because you're still a little hungry. Other than that, everything was amazing. I will definitely go back for cocktails again. Ok so I'm still giving this 5 stars....even though our experience didn't start off great. I still feel like they deserve 5 stars because of how the entire interaction was handled. Honestly it was VERY busy in here: it was a Friday night, a lot of people were going out for a late Valentine's Day dinner (us) and a lot of people were either in town for Drake or to go to the car show at the convention center. So that being said, I understand that they were stressed. However, let me just say that I don't think the hostess's communicate. We walked in for a 6:15pm res at 6:05-- hostess said she could not seat us until 6:15 so we'd have to wait. We said cool no problem. And then she said ohhh actually there's some seats opening at the bar. Give us a min and you can go there. The people at the bar leave, and so we go over and sit. Not one minute later, a different hostess comes over and says "you can't sit here there's actually a LINE for the bar. There's people ahead of you". We immediately were like ummmmm she literally told us to. But ok. We will get up. So we go back to the hostess stand and have to wait another 5 mins or so for a table. Not a huge deal. But overall it wasn't best way to start our dinner here. We weren't going to make a big deal out of it at all. Food: whatever you do....get the Brussels sprouts, they're my absolute favorite thing on the menu. Smashburger: also very very good. Poutine - my husband loved it and he's a huge poutine snob lol. Fries - very good but a little peppery or over seasoned. The dessert was meh. I don't recommend. Drinks: honestly I've been here multiple times and these were my least favorite drinks I've ever had here. Just skip these and get a bird drink! If you like sweeter drinks, that's usually the way to go. However, they are not cheap. When we got our bill, the server ended up telling us that they took care of the dessert for us. Due to the "wait for the table". So it seems they did realize that there was an issue when we arrived. Which I thought was nice of them to do. So overall I DO recommend visiting, I think it just depends on what you're wanting! read more

We were walking around and everything was full but luckily B&B had about a 5 minute wait for 2 bar seats. They have an unbelievable variety of Bourbon as well as specialty non bourbon drinks. Grant, our mixologist/bartender, made us incredible boulevardiers. He obviously knows what he's doing and he didn't try to upsell our bourbon choice. He basically said we should drink what we like to drink and that's what we did. We also watched him mix a wide variety of different drinks for a group of women next to us. They kept raving about everything they tried. My wife also had a glass of Malbec which was good but what seemed like a small pour. I'm sure that's their size pour that everyone gets, but I wanted to just mention it. We ordered a salad and the short rib poutine. Both were healthy sized potions, very good, and everything was reasonably priced. Overall we had no complaints and would highly recommend it for food or drinks or both. read more

A family member told me that this was a really nice cocktail bar, so while visiting Pittsburgh, I stopped in for a drink. The bartender was very friendly, instantly greeting me when I came in. He was busy, but took the time to answer questions, give me water and take my order. I opted for the Dandelion and it was pretty good! They have an extensive, unique cocktail menu here, as well as the typical cocktail menu that most places have. They have a nice looking menu of food, though I didn't eat anything as I had dinner reservations elsewhere, I could see coming back to eat here too. The place has really nice décor, with a cool bar and lots of seating. I suggest a stop here, especially if you're into cocktails! read more

I will say up front that our waiter seemed annoyed at my older parents who weren't sure what to order and couldn't see the small QR code menu, so I was NOT happy about that. But the overall vibe here was so cool, and the drinks were delicious, so we still had a nice night. The charcuterie board was pretty average (can a restaurant PLEASE go a little above and beyond the norm on these??) but the crab fritters were delicious. And the drinks really blew us away. The Butterfly Effect was *cool*--I won't say more than that so I don't ruin the surprise! The Waterfall in the Woods also had a unique effect, and the Vogue was really good. My mom seemed to like the Blind Date a lot--she ordered two! I would definitely come back here to try more of the drinks and food! read more

Greeted with criticism of letting my buddy take his seat at the bar before me. Since it took 2 seconds longer, the waitress decided to give me feedback about being in the aisleway too long. I sit down and look at the bourbon list which was filled with mid and bottom tier bourbon. It's like they went to fwgs and bought the middle and bottom shelves. It has bourbon in the name of the business, absolutely nothing unique here for bourbon. Beyond attitude from the server, the bartender carried the same unwelcoming persona. This was my first time and I only got some cocktails before heading to another place for dinner. The two cocktails I had were The Butterfly Effect and the Drunken Warbler. Flavor wise they were both outstanding but personally really preferred the Drunken Warbler. The only thing Im going to mention is that this place is pricey, but worth it. Came here for the first time for a special occasion and was blown away. Very trendy place with creative cocktail options. The atmosphere was great with indoor and outdoor seating available. The bartenders really know how to make great cocktails and the food was amazing! Had the peach burrata salad with a side of fries and broccolini. I enjoyed my time here. This place was more of a spur of the moment place as I was walking by and the interior caught my eye. It was busy in here and the tables were all filled. I thought that since this was a popular place that it was worth a try. I went in and checked out their cocktail menu online and there were some options that really caught my eye. I love their naming convention for some of them and the presentation for some of the drinks were interesting. The drinks themselves were well crafted. Some of them made me want to get seconds immediately. I love the ambiance of the place as well as the music. It gives it a nice lounge feeling while you enjoy a drink with some friends. The decorations would benefit from cleaning though. I noticed that they had some glass ceiling lights with dead spiders inside, which was a bit off putting. I guess another downside is that they are busy and it was hard to get the attention of our server at the time. Loved the cocktail range of choices and everyone in our party oooh-ed and awhhh-ed at the pretty mimosas with mini frozen orange juice marbles and fun presentation of the flaming/smokey Rip The Throne. The food was good. Nothing spectacular. Very bland chicken and waffles sandwich. One super hearty horseradish packed Bloody Mary and a small sandwich with tip $40. The truffle fries are a hard pass. Come here for a fun night and great strong drinks. We arrived late on a Monday night after the Pittsburgh Symphony performance for the arts festival. It was a gorgeous weather night so both huge windows to the restaurant were open bringing the outside in. We arrived and it was packed. I'm so glad we made a reservation. Our table was waiting for us. The energy was lively but classy. This place reminds me of a high class speakeasy that doesn't have to be hidden. Our drinks were amazing. They have a lovely curated cocktail list, highlighting the bourbon and whiskey. I was very happy with my cocktail. We ordered food and enjoyed our meals. I wouldn't come here FOR the food but if you are hungry you won't be mad you paid $40 for a steak. I ordered the scallops and they were good. Don't come expecting to be full unless you order the burger maybe. This is really somewhere I'd bring my pals to get toasty in a high class environment. Brought a group of 8 friends over to Bridges and Bourbon and it was an amazing experience! The drinks were fantastic and all so delicious. We made our reservation just before happy hour ended (Monday thru Friday, 4:00-6:30pm) to be able to get some good deals. I would highly recommend making a reservation in advance! The last two times my husband and I tried to come by they were all booked out and had no open spots or waitlist. I wanted to take my dad here for Father's Day because he likes bourbons and whiskeys, and I've heard great things about this place. I made a reservation for 1pm through the Yelp app. We showed up 15/20 minutes early and were seated right away. I don't think we needed a reservation for that early in the day, but I wanted to be safe. We really enjoyed the aesthetic and decor of the whole place. It seemed rich, lavish, and full of character. It was a beautiful day out, so they had their patio doors open, which added to the ambience. The drink menu was very impressive and had tons of options for everyone. My dad had a Bloody Mary followed by two different bourbon flights. My mother had the Dandelion and the Butterfly Effect. I had Birds of a Feather and The Torch. I couldn't pick a favorite between them. All of the drinks we had were unique, and I recommend any of them. I definitely recommend the charcuterie board to share. It had a nice assortment of cheeses, meats, and toppings. My dad and I had the Loco Moco for our meal, and it was one of the best brunch items I've ever had. So many flavors and quite filling. My mother had the Smashburger and really enjoyed it. She just got it with one patty instead of two. Even with one it was huge. My mother and I got a dessert to split, which was to die for. We got the Do It for The Graham. Although it was very tiny, it was delicious. I've never had a better texture of a marshmallow than in this dessert. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. Our waiter gave great recommendations, including the meal that my dad and I got. I highly recommend going for brunch or even just cocktails. Our server was the sweetest, she had great recommendations, great service, and really added to the environment of the ADORABLE restaurant. The desserts were very good - we opted for the lemon bar and the grasshopper crème brulee. The drinks were also delicious, very creative and came out quickly! So often with cocktails bars I find that it takes at least 10 minutes for one craft cocktail to come out. I love a good presentation. The pace of our brunch was slow, which I like so that was fine. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We started off with brunch fries for the table, which were really good. I had the sautéed mushrooms: mushrooms, arugula, toasted sourdough, slow poached egg, hollandaise sauce. The egg was so underdone there were hardly any parts of the egg white that were firm/cooked/set. A love a completely runny yolk, but the egg white so uncooked was like slime on the plate. The mushrooms were very salty. The hollandaise sauce tasted like straight butter. One member at our table said the loco moco was lacking flavor besides the furikake. This was the first time we visited Bridges and Bourbon. We made reservations for lunch before the Nutcracker at the Benedum. Location wise, it is a less than a 10 minute walk to the Benedum. We chose to sit inside because this was the first time we ever been there. We were glad we made reservations. It isn't a very big place. It is elegant, trendy and upscale. Behind the bar, there are shelves with every time of alcohol one can think of. Outside, there were clear tents/igloos that guests could sit in also. Next time, we want to try sitting in one of them. The tents are perfect for when a couple wants a little more privacy! As we were looking at the menu on our phones, we saw this drink come out to a table. It was an ornament hanging from a hook with presents around. We oh'd and ah'd over it. We found the tab with all the cocktail drinks. Using Yelp and online, we were able to see the different photos of the drinks. I had my heart set on a Bloody Mary before we came. I started with that. It was a delicious Bloody Mary. It had celery, olives and bacon. They accommodated me and there was no haberno vodka in it. There was still the perfect balance of heat. We both chose the Lox Benedict. Each bite was more delicious than the last! The salmon/lox was beyond delicious. No fishiness. It was the best lox I have ever had. The eggs were perfectly poached. The yolk breaking perfectly when I stuck my fork in it. We watched others ordering fancy drinks. We decided for dessert to order the Butterfly Effect. We were so glad we did. We oh'd and ah'd when it came to us. Smoke poured out of the glass that contained a tube. We loved pouring the tube of liquid into the flute and watching the drink change colors. The flavor was delicious. If going here one must order one of the cocktails. I don't think one could be disappointed! The drink menu is extensive with something for everyone. Most of the drinks were presented in a very unique and beautiful way, which added to the overall experience. Some of the drinks didn't hit the mark on flavor, however, but the servers were knowledgeable about the menu and helpful in selecting a drink. Despite being first and foremost, a bar, I thought the food was better than the drinks. We had a Italian squash dumpling appetizer and a beet salad as appetizers, which were both delicious. For dinner, I had the Brie sandwich, while others got the burger, friend chicken sandwich, and mushroom pasta. Everything was delicious with generous portions. My only complaint there is that, because the kitchen is small, the food took a LONG time to come out. We made online reservations for 7pm and although parking was an issue (save yourself the trouble and just use the parking structure. It was $6) the food and drinks were worth it. We both ordered cocktails. Waterfall in the Woods was presented beautifully and the rose garnish on Incense was classy. We ordered the Fried Brussel Sprouts for an appetizer and it was the perfect portion size to share. They were really really good but a bit too oily for me. Since we couldn't decide on what we wanted for dinner, we both chose an entree and split that as well. I got the Main Salmon and she ordered the Creole Cassoulet. Both were delicious! If you're looking for a chic downtown bar to endure racial discrimination and sixteen year old hostesses that whisper "F*** YOU" under their breath, Bridges & Bourbon is your spot. Last year, around late July, my fiancé and family dined here and experienced two major incidents that have instilled long lasting, horrendous memories for years to come. This spot was actually promising, cocktails were bomb, food was tasty, vibe very Lower Manhattan, but after the hostess blatantly disrespected us upon arrival due to her inability to communicate seating availability over the phone AND our black grandfather being told the restrooms were for "paying guests only" (after being seated for over THREE hours unnoticed by any management), Bridges & Bourbon is a MAJOR NO. To add insult to injury, the red haired, female manager claimed that they deal with "many crazy people in the late hours of the evening", assuming our grandfather was one of them simply because he is black. I mean, Christ, the man was wearing a friggin' button-up polo, slacks, a Yankees cap and walked around with a CANE. If I could give this ignorant, racially insensitive, poorly run establishment a -5 stars, I would. Educate your staff, it's 2023, not 1945. read more

Just finished dinner with my family on a Tuesday night and here's my review: This isn't my first time at Bridges and Bourbon, but I will say that the restaurant does come to life during the night time hours. The colors and decor lean toward a night life bar and restaurant. The restaurant is small and the service is intended to be a multiple hour experience so I would recommend making a reservation. I'm regards to the food and drinks, the cocktail I had was the "Autumn Mist". As a scotch forward drink, it was quiet strong but had a smokey sweet flavor. We shared the fried pickles and baked brie. The pickles were thicker cut chips but were nothing spectacular. The baked brie was also nothing special and was just classic baked brie. The butternut squash soup was flavorful and was on the thicker bisque side. I had the apple butter smash burger as an entree. The apple butter was spread on the top of the bun with slices of apples as well. The smash burger was flavorful and the sweetness of the apples did not overpower the burger. Overall the restaurant is very nice and the service is friendly. I do think they are slightly over priced for the portion sizes but a good experience overall. read more

This place is always a good idea Love it for brunch or just cocktails! On our most recent visit our bartender, Sean (hope I'm getting it right), was as good as it gets. He expertly prepared the "rain of steel" for me & "campfire" for Jason. My drink was almost as if an old fashioned has been mixed with a whiskey sour & it had an extra touch of sweetness from some pineapple. The jelly angostura pearls added a unique texture.
