I've been here maybe 3 times, each visit has struck me as fair or ok but never anything worthy of an exclamation mark, good or bad. On our most recent lunch date with my wife, she was in the mood for a good Reuben sandwich, but when it arrived it was opened faced (no mention on menu) and tasted rather bland. My gyro was tasty, but skimpy on the meat. Staff was friendly, facility is very nice, food was so so. My wife says she is likely to not return. Classic Greek Diner in NJ with a pretty decent cup of Joe. We walked in on a Sunday and to the usual large crowds. I went to the woman behind the counter to put in our name and she told me to talk to a guy in a blazer. That guy was impossible to catch and took 3-4 minutes to even get him to the area where he was taking names. Despite the rush and crowd, it only took 15 minutes to seat us. There is no where to stand so you just kind of hover over the other diners. It's sunday, so can't really fault them too much. Food: Pretty tasty classic diner food and when asked if they have sausage patties instead of links, they didn't bat an eye. Decor: Classic diner look with booths and stools Price: Standard NJ diner fare...less than $10 for my eggs with meat breakfast Service: I'm not counting the waiting experience, but they were rushed and really let me feel like I was in their way. The blazer dude came by to ask everyone how their food was but before he even finished his question he was already walking away. He didn't even stop to turn and look at our table as he asked, like litterally said it as he was walking past our booth. If you don't care, don't bother. What one would expect in a diner in central NJ. My wife noticed the waitstaff was primarily young, female, and attractive - I suppose that could be a plus or a distraction. Anyway, the U-turn a few feet W of the diner was closed in June, so people now use the diner's parking lot to cut-through, so be very careful driving/parking/walking. read more

Great place for lunches and breakfast. Their lunch special menu is typically a very good bargain that includes a cup of soup, an entree and a cup of ice cream for 10 dollars. Everything here in terms of flavor is very mediocre. Its diner food after all. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Traditional diners like this one I feel like are becoming more and more scarce in the central jersey area (large portions, large menu, reasonable price, diner aesthetics). The servers here are typically very nice. Two complaints. 1. The time from being seated to paying your bill is around an hour and twenty minutes during lunch rush which is difficult when you're on an hour break. I understand it's a rush. But consistently, when it comes time to pay the bill, its difficult flagging down the server. Second, management/owner's (not sure what they are), are fairly rude and self entitled. Simple requests on bill splits or seating arrangements they seem to act like its the most unreasonable request in the world...and their attitudes have to go. I see this without fail EVERYTIME I go. Its usually happens to our group and surrounding patrons. Its ridiculous. Went here for weekday breakfast and was hoping for some good diner food. But the food was just passable. The pancakes were thin and lifeless, not the fluffy substantial ones I was hoping for. The hash browns and two eggs were on par with Denny's (ok but not much else). Finally, the toast comes buttered, so by the time it was served the toast was barely warm and soggy. The waitress was nice and attentive, the hostess didn't say anything, no good morning, no nothing. When I paid her and I was leaving she muttered "have a nice day" Overall this is a place to fill your stomach with average fare. The service here is always quick and the food is very good with a huge variety of options. Easily accessible from the east and west bound sides of Rte 22. The employees could be a bit more friendly but the facility is also clean and newly renovated. It's a good spot if you have business to discuss and are looking for a quick hearty meal. read more

Went here today with my boss and a fellow employee before a meeting. We arrived around noon and the parking lot was full and the restaurant fairly full. The menu was enormous, per usual for a Jersey diner. The waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered food fairly quickly and the soups arrived quickly. I was seated facing the door to the kitchen. When we first arrived I noticed that there was a lot of smoke when the doors opened. I assumed that maybe something had accidentally burned (that happens) but saw that the smoke never seemed to disappear. Decent food, good service. Worth the stop. read more

Food was amazing, service was good but what stood out was the professionalism of their manager Sam! Her customer service skills are top notch! She was amazing and very attentive. I frequent the Bridgewater diner for lunch because of the convenient location on Rt 22, not for any outstanding food. I've ordered everything from their egg platters/omelettes to their wraps/sandwiches/burgers. Food is A-okay (a bit bland), service is speedy, and prices are what you'd expect from a diner. They're priced a little higher than the other two diners I frequent in NJ. Tons of different food items to offer on their multi page menu. Wouldn't say this is my favorite diner in Jersey but definitely worth a visit if you're looking to satisfy your diner craving or want tons of food options any time of day. read more

Beware - If you don't have time, keep moving. The service is SLOOOOOW. Polite- but slow. Stopped in for lunch and wound up getting hangry by the time some food showed up on the table! I love diner food and always love having soup, especially a good bowl of Matzo Ball soup! Despite sitting in broth... the matzo balls actually tasted a bit dry. I ate it nonetheless. The salad I ordered was HUGE and really hit the spot, but it took FOREVER to come out and then another forever to get the waitress to bring me the right dressing I ordered. Just a typical diner. I'm not a huge fan. Not quality food. It's quick food. But don't think you will love it. I had eggs, bacon and sausage this morning for take out and it was almost $14 bucks. Only one good point - the matzoh ball soup was great. Now the horrible - I ordered the roasted chicken lunch special. THE CHICKEN WAS SOUR, SPOILED OR ROTTEN (pick one). Worse than that, never saw the server and I had to flag the host/manager down who was more involved with his phone call than me waving my arm to get his attention. Once he came over after seating new customers and finishing his phone call, snatched the plate and asked what I would like, told him the stew. 12 minutes later my stew showed up, NO APOLOGIES OR ANYTHING. Based on one visit, on my own, for breakfast, with my own booth, I can say this much: Good bacon, better than at some other diners, who tend to under-cook; Good home fries, a step above some others in crispiness; Good over-easy eggs; And regularly topped-off coffee. What else do you need at a diner? Maybe it's a dollar more than other nearby diners but surely the real estate requires it. I can see what previous reviewers meant about the rather, shall we say, curt hostess, but honestly I just thought it added character. Service was great but I'm an easy customer. The decor is nice, though it's surprisingly small. Pretty cool how it's sandwiched in the neutral ground of Highway 22, but as others have said, getting in and out is a bit of a thrilling experience! We have been here numerous times. It is a typical NJ diner. Not the largest portions or cheapest prices for NJ diners, and not the worst. Pretty much in the middle. The food is good and consistent. The specials are hit or miss, but more hit than miss. Service and friendliness is always good. For the area, it is a definite stop if you like diners. BLT, Club, Burger all good. Always a safe bet for a fresh, satisfying meal and a reasonable price. They move a lot of food here and during peak times it's crowded. Parking can be tricky if its busy. Very fast service so the wait time is never terrible. Just be patient. Waiting area is very small but they move fast here. We like their soups, turkey sandwiches and country breakfast. Yeah, this place is awesome. Don't let that death trap of a parking lot deter you, the quality, quantity, and variety of food items is well worth it. The menu is pretty much a novel thick of endless choices. Don't just flip to the last page (Senior discounts), you'll ruin the plot. The breakfast items, sandwiches, "in a basket" section, and italian dishes are just some of the categories of food of which I have sampled. All of which have been 5 star worthy. I am gluten-free, dairy free and sugar-free... Lost 40 pounds since February 1. I ordered the western omelette with home fries and I wanted to substitute a tomato slice for the toast. I was told that there is no way to do that because it will charge you if she puts it in the computer... So no substituting. They did have almond milk as a sub for cream for my coffee... when I received my omelette... It was all burnt up... I do not like to eat brown eggs! See picture. This place needs to get with the times and understand that eating habits have changed in recent years... They need to make accommodations for people that have dietary restrictions... If you like undercooked French fries and wilty lettuce, step on up. The chicken wings are strange and terrible but the potato skins are huge. You will have to pick a lot of past-their-prime vegetables out of your salad (never seen a bad cucumber in a salad before!) This is by far the worst diner I have ever been to. Went there for Father's Day, waiter came asked us what we wanted to drink. We placed and order for everything at the time. We asked for ice water and the waiter only brought a cup of ice with no water and never even saw that it was just ice in the cup. Then when the food came out one order was incorrect and I told the waiter to correct it. He say okay and wipes the sweat off of his forehead with his hands and grabs the plate with the same hand. Then comes back and proceed to tell me that the kitchen is extremely busy and they cannot replace the meal, so I then asked for the manager. Now the manager comes over I explain to him the situation and he tells me that they are so busy (but had so many empty tables in the diner) that the grill was full and they could not remake my order but in the same breathe asks me if I want something else. The distraction was high at this point and I told it is fine I will not have anything and allow my family to eat. Towards the end I asked the waiter to take my meal and my soda off of the bill as I didn't eat or drink anything during my time at the diner. They took the meal off but were fighting me to remove the soda off of the bill. Essentially the soda was taken off and we left. PLEASE OF YOU ARE THINKING OF GOING TO THIS PLACE DO NOT GO, they are not friendly , polite or sanitary for that matter of fact. I also believe that the manager was racist as well. read more

This is definitely my favorite diner. The hostess can be a bit indifferent as other reviews pointed out, but most of the servers are good, very responsive, and helpful. As diner food goes, the food is very good. The french onion soup is probably my favorite thing on the menu, and I personally like the Florentine Eggs Benedict is a good breakfast choice. For lunch the grilled chicken sandwiches are good. These sandwiches in particular are quite large, as are many things on the menue. You should plan to either split it or take a doggy bag. read more
