I love this place! I've been a few times, the time that stands out the most is when I went for my birthday. I asked my niece to reserve a restaurant that was locally and black owned. Unfortunately she dropped the ball, on the day of my birthday I sent a text to the reservation number to rent their room. When I explained how small my party was, they asked if I was sure I wanted to pay for the private room. I was like yes please! They made it happen, the private room was everything I could ask for! Last minute they made it happen! There are a few tvs which made my day, I had tons of birthday messages we were able to play on the tv, the food was absolutely delicious. We tried a little bit of everything. The chicken and waffles yummy, my favorite! We also tried the chicken wings, fish and a few other items. My ONLY complaint is the fried green tomatoes, they add shrimp to them. I'm allergic to shellfish, they don't price adjust them if you ask for them without shrimp. The fleur de lys is the most instantly recognized symbol of New Orleans, Louisiana, and the NFL's Saints. As a native of New Orleans, it was that fleur de lys on their sign that attracted my attention to Brielle's Bistro. Yes, I did have doubts about a Cajun/Creole restaurant in Oklahoma City. So I ventured in for an early dinner. The hostess greeted me warmly. Monica, my Server, was delightful (warm/engaging/patient). I really wanted to like this place because I had heard so many good things. First, when we walked in the place was empty and we were the only customers. They were playing very explicit music and then music didn't change for at least 10 minutes. Once seated it took a long time to get drinks and then food ordered. Second, the food tasted great. I think the portion size discrepancies is big though. My friend's fish and chips with Mac n cheese were at least double what my pasta was. They were both off the lunch menu. I've been supporting Brielles since they were in Spencer. I got fried catfish smothered in et toufe and it was good. My first plate was cold and undercooked but when they brought out the remake 30min later it was good. Not a fan of the jalapeño mac. Red beans and rice were good. Dirty rice was mid. The smothered pork chop in mushroom gravy/sauce could've been better. The sauce was amazing but the pork chop was bland. The fried green tomatoes were okay. Edit, came back. Got the Gator Poboy, fried Okra, beignets. Next day had the croissant French toast and a side of grits. Next day came back and had the shrimp and grits. Would recommend this place and wish I lived here so I could be a regular Food: I had the Mardi Gras Omelet which was topped off with a Crab Queso. Ok hear me out.... I am a foodie, a culinary student and amazing home cook... I am also a restaurant manager... I have Been in the industry for years. So I know I can be a tough critic.... first I want to say that this place a lot of potential... it's a great space for large parties, they even have a space that maybe or band or DJ could set up for. This place came recommended by some friends of mine that live here. Pictures on Yelp look good and reviews are high, so I definitely was excited to come. Unfortunately, the food missed the mark BIG TIME. So we ordered the Cajun honey lime wings to start... the wings were yummy but missing the Cajun flavor. Our server said "if we like spicy the we would enjoy them" unfortunately there was no spice at all. We also ordered the dirty gumbo to share as well. To be honest, it was more of a vegetable Stew. Although the flavor was good it had a lot of diced vegetables. When I think gumbo I think a dark brown broth with chicken and sausage or seafood. The dirty rice that came with it was crunchy, probably scraped from the bottom of the pan. For our entrees we ordered the blackened catfish with etouffee, my bf though it was good but not great. The meal came with 2 sides he ordered the greens and dirty rice. We sent the green back because similar to other reviews, it was extremely salty. We exchanged it for green beans. They had good flavor but still a bit on the salty side. I ordered the fried catfish with red beans and rice and jalapeño Mac. The jalapeño Mac was a big disappointment because I was expecting a lil heat and jalapeños and I got neither. The fish itself was Missing some seasoning. The red beans and rice were decent.... nothing special. Our server Cassidy was wonderful! She was pleasant, accommodating, and friendly. She took great care of us. The manager also stopped by and listened to my concerns. I really appreciated that. Most times when an experience is less than pleasant... the recovery is what matters. Walking in, I was surprised at how spacious the restaurant was. On Wednesdays and Fridays, there is live music. So we got to experience that yesterday, and the singer was talented. Our server was friendly, but she didn't check on us as much, and my friend had to ask her to refill her waters. Despite the inattentiveness, this place has great-tasting food with budget-friendly prices. I had the blackened catfish with crawfish etouffee, and it came with two sides. The catfish was flaky and fresh-tasting. But as I continued to eat it, I realized it got saltier after each bite. Their coleslaw and fried okra were great. Where do I start with this amazing gem of a restaurant. From the moment I walked in, I was politely greeted and shown to my table. I instantly noticed some of my favorite music playing from when I grew up. I absolutely loved the way they decorated the entire place. My server was very friendly and instantly made me feel at home. I had a question about the jalapeño Mac and cheese and she gave me a great explanation. I ended up ordering the chicken fried chicken. The crust was nice and crunchy and the chicken was incredibly juicy. The tasso gravy that accompanied it was a match made in heaven. I believe that same gravy was also on my mashed potatoes, because they were amazing as well. On to the jalapeño Mac. It's hard to describe how good it was. I'm not really that big on spicy stuff at all. This Mac had the flavor of a jalapeño without the heat (the manager later told me they remove the seeds). Everything I ate that night was perfectly seasoned and made with love. Can't forget the pancakes!!! They had a slightly crisp edge to them, which is how I prefer them. They weren't too fluppy by any means........Just perfect pancakes. I highly recommend Brielle's Bistro to anyone looking for great food. Update: The food was so perfect that I decided to come back for a second day in a row. This time I tried the blackened chicken breast, smothered in a creamy mushroom sauce. Devine doesn't even begin to describe the flavors I experienced. Of course I couldn't help but get the Jalapeño Mac & Cheese again. It definitely didn't disappoint. The sweet waitress talked me into trying the Mardi Gras cheesecake. Such a great recommendation. I ate every bite, even though I was already full. Upon the recommendations of a couple of friends, we decided to try out Brielle's tonight. I have been wanting to try it for a while, and we had a very enjoyable meal. One of the most memorable things was the friendly service. All of the waitstaff were smiling and always checking in on us. The restaurant is not too large, maybe 12 or so tables. It has a casual atmosphere with a Mardi Gras decor. I decided to stick with the Cajun theme, and I ordered the crawfish po' boy with a side of red beans and rice. Both were delicious and very filling. We had crab beignets for an appetizer, and they were good, but I felt they might need a bit more salt or seasoning. They were filled with plenty of crab though and very little filler. I probably needed more of the sauce, which was spicy and flavorful. My friend had the chicken fried chicken, and it was tender and juicy. Her sides of gravy, green beans and fried okra rounded out a classic southern meal. I ordered the crab beignets and the crawfish etouffee. The crab beignets are delightful - like a hush puppy combined with a crab cake. It came out with a Cajun seasoning covered lemon half which sprinkled on the crab beignets was quite delightful. I must say that the remoulade was tasty and SPICY! A remoulade is essentially a European aioli. The crawfish etouffee was yummy and also spicy. Are you detecting a theme here? But it has nice pieces of crawfish and lots of green onions and rice and an amazing flavor. I also ordered okra but my waiter forgot it, they didn't charge me for it, and I was full. So no harm no foul. They are still wearing masks to walk in the door. They do not have any type of spiraling water. They did have live musicians but I never heard them play, they just kept checking their store for. Oh and finally the water first took my card and check to the wrong table and then he didn't give me a pen. I can't tip without a pen. Happened upon Brielle's Bistro on accident while we were heading to a different restaurant for dinner. Saw Brielle's and decided to try it out. While in the parking lot we checked the other reviews and saw it was highly recommended. I ordered the Natchitoches Meat Pies with mashed potatoes and okra, my husband ordered the chicken fry steak with dirty rice and red beans and rice. The gravy and the chicken fry breading was very salty, almost too salty to eat. The red beans and rice and the dirty rice was delicious. The meat pie was very good but I was surprised that there was only 1 since the menu stated "pies" plural. The okra was good and the mashed potatoes were incredible but the gravy was too salty. I would like to try Brielle's again but since my husband is on a low sodium diet, we may not be able to go back. I hope they are able to reduce the salt in the recipes. read more

Wow! My friend suggested this place and it was probably the best suggestion of restaurants I've had in a pretty long while. I was told by one of the bar tenders that it had been there for a few months now. We where seated pretty quickly. The atmosphere was pretty positive. Energy is everything to me. With everything I ordered i got suggestions from our waitress. And they where good recommendations. The queso chips are freaking delicious. Probably the best chips I've had in Oklahoma, hands down. All they need is a warm temperature to them. And honestly they're great without. I just know with heat, they'd be even more satisfying. The shrimp pasta was absolutely tasteful. Just the right amount of sauce, and honestly just the right amount of shrimp. No complaints. It did come with a side of salad, which I did send back. But that's because it was iceberg. I unfortunately hate iceberg salads. However, I did try it, and was immediately disappointed. It was not the dressing i choice, but definitely the salad itself. However, I was able to replace it with a different side and I chose collard greens, which was suggested by our waitress. They where delicious. Omg. I tend to always put hot sauce on my collard greens. But they where so good I didn't request any. They where so good, I saved them to take home because the pasta was so appetizing, I didn't want to stuff myself and not be able to enjoy them. It was a great choice. I also ordered a martini which was also great. Not quite sure of the name just because it was another suggestion of our waitress. I will say service was not bad, but our waitress was pretty slow. Sadly. I asked for cup of ice a couple of times. She came to our table about 2 other times after me requesting the ice and still had not brought it. So i decided to go get it from the bar myself. Which is when I was able to get a little info on the timing they've been there. But it doesn't trump the overall services we where provided or the great food. If I'm not mistaken, I believe this place was in Spencer, OK at one point. And it was devastating! Total let down. So if it is the same restaurant, Bravo! Way to step up your game. This spot is definitely a hidden gem in Oklahoma City! They know how to really deliver good solid Creole food in this town. I have actually been here three or four times when I'm visiting. My parents eat here often and seem to know the people very well, but each time that I have been here the service has been spot on and the food has been beyond amazing! What I love about this place is that it's your local family spot, but you feel like you're eating elevated Creole food. They have recently renovated since the last time I've been there and the renovations look good. Very glad to see them thriving during COVID-19. These are the types of businesses we have to keep going and supporting, so if you're in the area definitely stop by. I promise you won't be disappointed with either breakfast, lunch, or dinner. My chicken was really flavorful. My entire meal was delicious. Great atmosphere, good music piped through the speakers. All the staff that we encountered were pleasant. I was surprised there was no alcohol but not a deal breaker for just my husband and myself although I'd prefer a drink if we were socializing with friends for dinner. I did not visit the ladies room so I have no review. I was slightly disappointed there was not any piece or stem of mushroom in my Cajun mushroom sauce but did not take away from me enjoying my meal. This place has been on my radar for sometime and I am kicking myself that I haven't been earlier. We arrived for lunch on a Saturday around 12:30. Not crowded but not dead either, there were a few tables seated and more people came in as we were there. At the recommendation of our server, I went with the blacked catfish with crawfish etoufee. This thing was fantastic. The fish was still moist but cooked all the way through. Great blackening seasoning as well. There was plenty of rice and etoufee as well, that could have been your menu. I probably would have eaten enother serving of this if I had ordered it, although it was substantial it was so good I would have gladly eaten another. My mother got the meat pies which were likewise very strong. They are large too, 2 come to an order and you shouldn't be hungry. My son got the gator po boy which was a large sandwich. Next time we go I'd like to try the catfish po boy, but it'll be tough not to order the blackened catfish. SIdes were also strong: mac n cheese, fries, red beans and rice. All were prepared fresh and had great flavor. No additional seasoning was needed. This joint also serves breakfast which I'd love to try.
