Best coffee in the city
Sara D.

Excellent coffee. Their beans make a very strong coffee taste without the bitterness (I'm lookin at you PJ's) that's perfect just the way it is served. The chocolate sauce for the mocha's is homemade and chocolaty (is that even a word?) but not too sweet. My husband, who always adds sugar to his mocha, didn't have to sweeten this coffee at all and completely won him over! And as a bonus- I love the fact that they serve espresso in a little ceramic espresso cups instead of the usual paper. I look forward to stopping by more often:)

If they would just use Counter Culture, Intelligencia, or Stumptown beans I would seek them out every day I stay in New Orleans.

I started with their housemade hibiscus margarita with a tajin rim instead of salt. I thought it was good and not too sweet. The tacos, to me, were delicious. I think they have an option for anyone and they have some pretty unique combos. I loved the Korean inspired taco and their classic brisket taco. I did go for the tacos but I did get to try their guacamole and the amazeballs. The guac was not the best and you don't get much -- could've used more seasoning. I liked the amazeballs + they come with a really good chipotle aioli. I think this place has some things to work on while they get situated from reopening but I do think they have some great tacos!

I understand that probably a lot of people do that and look at different places so they don't always order. However, I had to interrupt him to get his attention to place my order for nachos. . I added meat and beans. The taste was different. I can't say that it was good. As I was eating them I found two french fries in my order. To my knowledge don't serve french fries.

I came on Wednesday, which is game night! So. Much. Fun!!! It starts at 7pm, and it's not like your typical trivia. You have to come to understand. The food is so good. I ordered the jerk chicken plate from Johnny's and it was fresh and authentic Jamaican food. You won't be disappointed. I've always thought New Orleans needed more food trucks, and this is a thought. There is a small parking lot in front of the food truck lot, and you can also find parking on the street. Added plus, bottomless mimosas for $13+ tax on Sundays!

Came with rice, plantains and greens. The chicken was on the bone and there were lots of little pieces to pick through. I didn't mind but some may. I came because a friend told me about the snowball truck that has dairy free condensed milk! She mistakenly told me he had a nectar flavor so I had my heart set on that. I ended up with an ice cream flavor with dairy free condensed milk. The condensed milk was delicious! The syrup wasn't as sweet and flavorful as I like my snowballs to be. I would definitely go back to try a different flavor. He makes all of his syrups with natural ingredients and said he may try to figure out a nectar flavor. My biggest complaint and the reason for the less than stellar review was the garbage smell that permeated the area. I tried relocating to three different tables to escape it. I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. My best guess is a hidden dumpster somewhere. It was awful and hard for me to enjoy my food when there was a smell of garbage. Lots of space to sit, bathrooms and a bar area for drinks. There was also a live band playing music. It was a nice touch.

It's rare to step into a restaurant before the doors open, an almost behind-the-scenes experience…read more You get to see what makes people tick and who they really are. In the restaurant business, we all have a switch: once the doors open, it flips. Until then, you're seeing people exactly as they are. This team is genuine. Hands down. Yes, I know, I'm technically here for a king cake. Standing in line for a king cake from a famous fried chicken company almost feels satirical. But watching the entire team sit down together for a meal an hour before service told me everything I needed to know about the leadership and the values of this company. People matter here. You can see why the sandwiches are as good as they are. You can feel why the king cake is worth the wait. This team operates like a family; kind to one another, intentional, and connected. The food is made with care because the people are cared for. I'm not here to review the food (which is phenomenal) or the king cake. I'm here to review the brand. This is the kind of business we should be proud to support as a community. Keep it up.

It is off Veterans Blvd. It is on the right side as you are driving east. Please be on the lookout. Otherwise, you might pass it by. Tends to spring up and drive by. We almost missed it. This is a fantastic location! Kinda tight and almost missed it. Parking is very limited. If you get discouraged you cannot find a good parking spot. I believe you may park on back street? Do not hold me to that. Worst case, you can always get your order to go. It was our first time. We were curious about and not many restaurants offer fresh made pork cracklings. Usually you have to buy it at a local market or know someone. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They briefly went over a few recommendations. We started with of course, order of adobo fresh pork cracklings. Adobo or traditional** crispy pork belly, adobo sauce, topped with garlic peanut rub Southerns Queso burger - 6 oz. beef patty*, pickled jalapeño, queso, beer battered onion ring with order of fries. Tender meal - Choose your spice level. 3 jumbo chicken tenders, fries, and tender sauce. (Mild) Southerns Original Chicken Sandwich - Choose your spice level. Boneless chicken thigh, Yuzu aioli, slaw, housemade pickle. (Mild) I was curious about the Phuket Sauce. So I got an order too. This tastes great! Not spicy at all. Do not let the pepper fool you. It has a little kick but not spicy at all. All are well seasoned. Few of them you can choose your spice level. We all washed down with fountain drinks. They do offer catering services and possibly call ahead ordering. Please reach out to them for options. If you are in the mood for something different but great food. Give them a try if in the area.

The menu had Jerk chicken, curry chicken, and brown stew chicken. I wish they would have listed the sides on the menu as well, so it wouldn't leave potential customers wondering what comes with the chicken. I planned to get the jerk chicken and my mom was going to get the brown stew chicken. My mother and I aren't eating rice right now, so we asked if we could get a plate without rice and peas and just double the veggies/ greens. He said he did not have enough veggies to do it for two plates. I said okay well if we get one plate can you do it on that one and he said ok. So instead of purchasing two plates we just purchased one jerk chicken plate. The chicken was good and the greens were flavorful. I wish there could've been another veggie offered like cabbage so I could've had cabbage and then greens, but overall I enjoyed the food. Only other tip besides adding the sides to the menu, is that I think they would've benefited from having another staff member. It was only one guy plating the food and taking the money/ orders. There was someone else who would come to refill the food but they didn't help serve.
