I have worked with Todd for several years and have found him to be both extremely knowledgeable and dependable. For example, during a recent electric emergency (major power fluctuations within home) I was forced to go with a competitor as I required a same-day visit (Bright Idea did call back later that day). In short, after explaining my problem with the competitor they informed me I needed a whole new electrical panel at a cost of $4,800. When pressed they were not able to answer basic troubleshooting questions. Fortunately Todd called back and explained that my problem most like was due to issues at the source (i.e. Edison). Ultimately Edison did come out and remediated my issue at no cost. I (obviously) did not go with the panel installation. As mentioned I have worked with Todd for several years, and will continue to do so for the reasons above. read more

Great experience! We had the old fluorescent lighting replaced in our kitchen and bathroom and we love the new look! Especially the dimmer! We got six can lights in the kitchen and a new light fixture installed in the bathroom. The job looks professionally done and the guys showed up on time and were quick to complete the project, even after having to get different can lights for the kitchen that better suited the space, which is a small space. My only gripe was the dust and debris I found in my medicine cabinet. We just need to cover things more thoroughly since dust and debris can creep in anywhere! Would I recommend Bright Idea? Yes! Todd has been our electrician for going on 20 years now. This morning we had an issue after power went out due to extra Christmas lights. It's Christmas Eve and he still stopped by. A non-electrician strongly recommended to me that I needed to replace my old electrical panel on the house. I contacted Todd at Bright Idea Electric and he came over and we discussed at length. He assessed that I wasn't really having any problems with the box. I told him that sometimes they trip, and he said that has nothing to do with this box, just try and space out a bit when you are using all of your appliances in the kitchen. I had a section of my house lose power and couldn't figure out why. I checked the breakers on the side of the house and none had tripped. The sections were on different circuits and baffled me why I lost power to both. Thought perhaps it was a mouse nibbling on wires because I heard scraping noises coming from inside a wall located in my garage. Anyway, this was beyond my abilities so I asked a friend who is a general contractor and he referred me to Bright Idea. Todd and Dave came to my house and,like crime scene investigators, traced the problem to a junction box located in the attic where a pigtail connection had broken loose. How they managed to trace it to that I have no clue but it was quite impressive, These guys know their stuff and have the equipment and tools needed to be successful at the problem at hand.
