Well it's just the beginning but I want to tell you everything was A+. The girls at the desk were so sweet and accommodating. The dentist Dr. Joseph Godinez actually had been my dentist years ago and it was wonderful to see him again. He's always been terrific! I am thrilled that he will be my dentist for my husband and myself. Everyone was very kind. I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to any dental examination etc. and they were very careful with me. I'm going back there for some extensive work and I feel hopeful that it will go well! read more

Positives: George, one of the dental professionals, was very friendly. I came in for x-rays today before making an appointment for wisdom teeth removal. The front office staff quoted me $2,700 after in-network insurance -- because their oral surgeon requires bone grafts -- not covered by any insurance -- for every single tooth. The employee at the desk then told me she had called around at other local dentists and that this was standard procedure. I soon after called around with other dental offices and found this is not the case at all. It felt very unethical, being price gouged for necessary medical procedures all while being in immense pain. I do not recommend coming here. read more

I am extremely disappointed with Bright Now Dental. My husband is in severe pain and urgently needed an extraction. However, Bright Dental refused to perform the medically necessary extraction unless we also agreed to a bone graft, which was explicitly stated as NOT medically necessary. Essentially, they were holding a critical procedure hostage unless we agreed to pay out-of-pocket for an additional service we didn't need. This is unacceptable and feels incredibly unethical. We are now forced to find another provider, while my husband continues to suffer. I would strongly advise anyone seeking straightforward, necessary dental work to avoid Bright Dental. After I made an appointment with them gave them all my insurance information address birthday and my personal info , that canceled my appointment day before my appointment, they don't know how to check insurance benefits so I took my business some where else ! They called me to schedule an appointment for a routine teeth cleaning. When I got there the office person took me aside and said I needed to have "Deep Cleaning" to the out of pocket (upfront) cost of over $400! What? How would she know I needed to "Deep Clean" without even an examination? I had extensive oral surgery, similar to root canals earlier this year. My entire mouth was examined and cleaned...so if anything... I just needed a general cleaning. I had to take an Uber to this appointment and I was mad! I told her in the front desk that this was a perfect example of "bait and switch" She followed me outside to "apologize" yeah right....she has on several occasions try to upsell me a flouride wash for $40...I have a good mouth wash that does the same! She also mentioned that I have cavities... 3 other dentist did not note such. These are well known oral surgeons. I noticed that on the website "Nextdoor" that this office gets alot of complaints for overcharging on unnecessary procedures. I will be filling a complaint with the Dental Board of California...Medicare and the Better Business Bureau. read more

I do not recommend this place for several reasons. The first time we went there, they made both my husband and I each wait over an hour before we were seen. When I went back to have an extraction, the dentist wouldn't do it and recommended the periodontist. I then went back a third time and the periodontist wouldn't do it, either. Meanwhile, last week when I went to one of the doctors they referred me to, he told me I had an infection in a different tooth based on the x-rays they sent him. No one there ever even mentioned that! When I called to inquire about it, they said someone would call me right back. That was three days ago. This is not a very professional group nor one that engenders trust, to say the least. Do yourself a favor and go to a private dentist or a more upscale dental group before going here. read more

If I could put a 0 star I would! This place is a complete disaster. Before booking, I was told they were booked out for teeth cleanings until July, so I made an appointment for a FULL EXAM. I arrived 10 minutes early, only to wait an hour past my scheduled time before being called back. When I finally went in for X-rays, I mentioned some sensitivity on the left side of my mouth. Instead of taking X-rays for a full exam as scheduled, they only focused on that one side. Afterward, the dentist had the audacity to tell me I needed to schedule another appointment for a "full exam." This was nothing but a money grab. To top it off, the front desk staff was extremely rude and argumentative when I tried to address the issue. I've never experienced such unprofessionalism and poor service at a dentist's office. She was very thoughtful and thorough, explaining everything she was doing and ensuring I was ok. She was the best I have ever had, great job in hiring Meriza!! the staff was professional / polite and provided good customer service. however, my only one visit to receive a ton of composites with dr nissen has caused problems for afterwards: 1. his work left a huge gap in-between my teeth and now anything i eat gets stuck/lodged. it was never a problem till after the service was provided. the problem area also feels sharp when I use my tongue to try and clear the stuck food, my tongue feels like its getting cut. 2. another composite/filling section between teeth had floss breaking in half. I never had a problem with floss breaking and lodging in-between my teeth ever. when I went to my teeth cleaning appointment the hygienist noticed her floss kept breaking and also a buildup of broken floss lodged in between my teeth. the hygienist could not remove the lodged broken floss and had dr. nissen inspect the area. dr nissen said the composite filling broke somewhere causing the floss to break in half. he also did not try to help remove the broken threads. 3. during a teeth cleaning, the hygienist wasted too much time (over 30 min.) trying to clear out the lodged broken floss (as explained in #2) and the service was insufficiently / halfassed met. 4. bad bedside manners (D-) not good. the patients shouldn't be hearing the dentist talk about his personal problems. furthermore ................ i will be asking for another teeth cleaning appointment to make up for the problems the hygienist ran into from the bad composite work / lodged floss. eventually I was able to clear out the lodged thread myself using "threader floss" I'd bought which i kept mentioning and advising the hygienist/nissen to try but they ignored me. read more

I was going to be a new patient with dental insurance. I had pulled a crown off and needed it re-cemented. I had an 11 am appointment. I was in the waiting room for 1 1/2 hours. A staff member came out and stated that the Doctor wanted to go to lunch and would I go to lunch and come back at 2 pm. What????? I went back. The Doctor eventually came in with a mask on, barely acknowledged me, and I never saw his face. He spoke about how old my crowns were (I'm old) and how I was ruining my teeth if I didn't replace the crowns soon, and left the room without a goodbye. He had the bedside manners of a goat. Next, an administrative person presented a document for me to sign, stating that if my insurance didn't cover the cost, I would be responsible, and that there were no guarantees that the cement would hold. Just a nightmare. Needless to say, I'm still on the hunt for a new dentist. read more

I was going to become a new patient at this office. But the front desk staff killed the experience for me. They don't say hello or acknowledge you until you say HI FIRST. They are definitely there for a paycheck than to be helpful over all. Definitely not a welcoming environment at all. The older lady in the front her name is Blanca I believe. She was one of the more unwelcoming ones. After I let several office staff know the number they had me under was incorrect they never changed it & still kept using that number to try and get ahold of Me. All in all they are all over the place and careless. I had to call back and cancel any future appointments I had pre booked. I would never recommend this location to anyone. To top it off my insurance PAID them to do X-rays and a surface level cleaning . They told me just because I needed a deeper cleaning they would not waste their time providing a regular cleaning & proceeded to tell me I would not be able to get that deep cleaning for another 3 weeks as I would have to schedule a new appointment for that. These ppl really test your patience and don't have any issues wasting your time having you in circles. The positive reviews I know FOR SURE HAVE TO BE FROM FAMILY & FRIENDS cause I know no one's having a good experience here. I see ALOT of the reviews with ppl complaining about similar if not worse things regarding the same staff as far back as 6 years ago! Horrible experience. I was a new patient. Made apt online. Filled out all required info for insurance. I received 2 texts, one to confirm apt and another as a reminder from them. Arrived 5 minutes early to apt. Signed in as instructed by the front desk. They started calling people in that came after me. Then they take in an apt that was for 930 at 915. By 930, I was pissed and asked the front desk what was going on. The lady in the front desk says, oh we have a lot of 900 appointments today. We are running behind. Lies. They took a 930 early. Then she has me fill out paperwork and I stated all this was done online. She says it dont save the info from online. What???!!! So I fill it out. 1000 comes and they call a different name, I just walked out. Waited for an hour. Horrible customer service. read more

Rude staff that argue with long time customers and don't have facts. Crowns never last always crack

This location is the most poorly run business in the Coachella Valley. Nobody greets you when you come in. The staff is consistently rude. They somehow are booked solid for 4 months out which is unbelievable. I had a filling come out in my front tooth after just a few weeks. I called and told them I need my filling repaired. The lady I spoke to was uncharacteristically polite and helpful for the first time dealing with their staff. I then showed up for my 2pm appointment, waited till about 2:30pm to go back, then waited another 15 minutes for the dentist. He came in took about 30 seconds and then walked away. I then had staff come and tell me that because I'm not in pain they weren't going to do anything and I shouldn't have been booked. Then the front office manager came out and she told me they would have to reschedule me and that the soonest appointment is October. A filling they put in comes out after 3 weeks and I have to wait 4 months for them to fix it. Then the manager got snooty with me when I said I'll probably have to go to a new dentist if it's going to take 4 months. She told me I shouldn't even book with them if I'm going to go somewhere else, so I told her that's up to me to decide and to book it anyway. This location will lie to you and tell you, you need braces to get more money out of you when you could get aligners for cheaper. I went into this location to get X-rays done for aligners and was told the next day by the manger I was not a candidate, I went to get a Second opinion from their other location because my teeth are not that bad and the other location told me right after my X-rays I was a candidate for aligners. I called and spoke to the manger at this location to ask why she lied to me and she was extremely rude to me and told me I shouldn't accuse her of things and told me she never said I was not a candidate, then she hung up on me. The worst dental experience i have ever experienced. dr. Nissen is a horrible dentist. They removed a tooth and in the process broke another tooth that i was unaware of at the time. But the pain became worse after the tooth removal. when i went back a month later. they said the tooth was split, filling fell out and infected. the x ray shows it was fine before they did the extraction of the other tooth. they would not own it. tried to charge me again to have that tooth removed. when i asked for something for the pain they refused that also. do not go there. read more

DENTIST IS NOT VACCINATED! I had to cancel an appointment I have been waiting for since the start of Covid because the dentist I was seeing is not vaccinated. I am a nurse and I felt like it was totally irresponsible for someone to care for children who are not vaccinated and other adults who may have underlying conditions to give any medical treatment when the dentist and most likely other staff members choose to not be vaccinated. I had not gone to a dentist in ten years(scary and nervous)and I finally worked up the courage to go get my teeth checked. I was worried that I would not find a qualified dentist that would also make me feel comfortable and ease my nerves. I was referred to Bright Now in La Quinta by a coworker of mine who said her kids go there and that the doctor was great with them! On my first visit I was so anxious and a total wreck. I knew there was going to be a lot of issues with my teeth that would need to be fixed since I waited so long.... But my nerves were put to rest right away! I really have no words to describe just how amazing the staff there is! The front desk ladies- Desire and Vanessa:) are so welcoming and kind. The dental assistant (?? Not sure of her exact title)-Erica- is a very nurturing, attentive, and empathetic human. She actually listened to my worries and made sure to keep me informed throughout the process of each procedure so I wasn't left in the dark:) She is one of the kindest, knowledgeable, and attentive people I've ever met. Last but not least, Dr. Nissen did a perfect job on my teeth- from my root canal to my many cavity fillings- he makes each process as quick and painless as he can. He is always extremely thorough and has a very relaxing, calm demeanor. Between him and Erica I felt so safe and confident in the work they were doing. Also- they play awesome old school rock music in the office, which helps pass the time too. My teeth came out great. Doctor did a perfect job and I can't thank them all enough for providing me with a wonderful experience!!! Please give them a chance if you need dental work- you won't regret it:) read more

AWFUL. AWFUL. AWFUL. If you scroll down you will see multiple reviews from people who were told they needed a deep cleaning when they didn't! Well..add me to that list. I went in for a new patient exam, x rays, and a regular cleaning and they flat out refused to clean my teeth and instead insisted that I needed a deep cleaning....before he even looked in my mouth! He came into the room and stood behind me looking at my xrays and started talking to his assistant, telling her to write down that I needed an implant, then made a comment about a crown looking really worn (it is less than two years old) then asked me if I had any pain...and when I said NOPE I am just here for a annual cleaning he said that I needed a deep cleaning. And this was before he had even looked in my mouth!!! When I told him I just wanted a regular cleaning he, unbelievably, told me that a regular cleaning would be the same as me going home and brushing with an electric toothbrush. (THAT IS ABSURD) When I said AGAIN that I wanted my teeth cleaned...he said that if he did a regular cleaning he would not be able to get a deep cleaning approved by my insurance! SCAM ARTISTS (IF this has happened to you like many people, call your insurance company and report this office!) I came here for a dental exam. The one my insurance covers with teeth cleaning. While I was waiting in the waiting room I heard a lady tell the front desk girl "why am I having to pay for that?" and "That's a lot of money". I now know. I went to the back and talked to the dentist who poked around my teeth for about 2 minutes or less. (literally) and said I would have to get my wisdom teeth removed. This I already knew I would have to have done, although, after he walked out, they said I was all finished....after 2 minutes! I asked her, the assistant, that I was under the assumption that I would be getting a teeth cleaning because my insurance is paying them for one with this visit...she went on to say that I need a "deep cleaning" and it would be around $700-$800 out of pocket. I let her know that there is no way I could afford this and that I just want the free cleaning that my insurance is covering. She said they wouldn't do it because I need a deep clean, not a light clean. This is where I was really bummed because that's like going to a car wash and them refusing to wash your car because your car needs a "premium" wash. Doesn't make any sense at ALL. So I called my insurance and spoke to them about it. They said that indeed, they pay them money so I can have x-rays and cleaning. The lady at the insurance company said she doesn't understand why they wouldn't do a light cleaning and at least polish my teeth as this is something that is always a good thing. Plus this is what they were paid through my insurance to do. Anyway, to make a long story shorter I went back to have my wisdom teeth removed. I took a week off work for vacation as I knew I would need time to recover. I get there and they tell me I need a bone graft after I have my wisdom teeth removed. That it would be out of pocket $1,000-2,000. I just got up and left. I spoke to TWO other dentist and one surgeon since then and showed them my X-rays and they said there is NO REASON a bone graft is needed in my case. They also warned me about going to dental chains like this because they scam people like this. From all the negative things I've now heard about this place I'm guessing a lot of these "amazing reviews" are from friends and staff. BE CAREFUL! GO TO A PRIVATE DENTIST THATS NOT A CHAIN DENTAL PLACE! If this place isn't shut down soon or doesn't have some class action lawsuit against them in the near future I will be very surprised! I said I just want to have a normal $129 cleaning and they said no. They were more interested in the billing of my insurance company then anything else. read more

Reviewing Bright Now! Dental in LA Quinta comes easily and with pleasure. Several months ago, I walked into the office with an emergency. A tooth near the front had broken off. Although they had no appointments available for almost a week, Desiree, the treatment coordinator went to the back, and upon returning to the front desk, she asked if I could come in at 2 the following day. Absolutely, of course, yes! I was treated by Dr. Paul Nissan who is thorough, gentle, and communicated with me from start to finish. It was right then and there, I decided to address other dental needs. Since that day, I have had an extraction, been fitted for a partial, prepped for a crown, and am in the process of a deep clean. Vera, an excellent dental assistant has helped me many times, and Erika has worked under Dr. Nissan assisting him. Rahul, my Hygenist is both detailed and careful in sensitive areas. In the front of the house, Vanessa in billing has not only worked with my insurance company, she has worked with me to make all these procedures possible! The experience as a whole at Bright Now continues to be positive, and I can be sure if I need to make an appointment, Blanca will help me as she's the appointment expert! read more

They will say you need work done that really doesn't need to be done just to make money!!! The MAIN receptionist is very unprofessional and rude AF!!! If the doctor says you need a deep cleaning, but you can only afford a standard cleaning, he wont do it. I just got fired from my dentist for calling him and his team out on gaslighting me. I also brought up the fact that I was traumatized mentally and physically by him and his assistant's negligence while filling a cavity last time I was there. If anyone wants to know...The dental assistants mother is such a clean freak that she actually cleans her cleaning supplies after she cleans. I know this bc this is the stuff they were talking about and laughing at while working in my mouth. They were flirting and giggling and I have been in pain ever since bc of the lack of attention. I was scheduled for a cleaning today and they argued incessantly with me that it was for a checkup. This has happened another time here as well. I spoke my mind. I asked them to take accountability and instead of owning up to their lack of professionalism, they fired me! Wow. So unprofessional. I was never going to write a review. That's why I confronted all of this personally. Now here I am bc my dentist doesn't have courage to say "I made a mistake." Definitely not someone I want taking care of my teeth. Bad business. This office is very unprofessional The staff talks in Spanish at the desk about their patients which they didn't know I could speak the language and then they make me wait almost an hour to get in for my "deep cleaning" which I hear is what they push primarily on all their patients. The staff wasn't very friendly and I felt uncomfortable and am out a lot of money. Think once this work is done I will contact my insurance and switch dentists. Not a happy camper :( read more
