A coworker went here three times and told me I HAD TO GO, so we finally went during lunch yesterday. What a cute place!! Bright Side Cafe is located inside The Mercantile in Old Town Scottsdale, at the back of the store. Enter through the back if you stop by early in the morning before The Mercantile opens. While they don't offer a lot of drinks options, they offer the basics along with their own signature drinks like the Blueberry Latte I got. They also top off your drinks with a cute image that you choose when you pay for your order. I was about to get the cactus, but I saw Snoopy, so you already know I HAD to get him! The drink itself was delicious! It was just a tad too sweet for me, but not overly obnoxious sweet. At around $7/$8 for a drink, the prices are average. They even have some seating around the front of the register if you choose to enjoy your goodies there. They do also offer pastries if you go in early enough. When we arrived around 12:20 pm, I only saw 2 in the pastry case, but they might keep more behind the counter. Bright Side Cafe is a cute spot to get some morning joe, latte, or the like before you start your day. Drop in if you have a chance and support this sweet local small business!

Cute cafe in a little mercantile area. This was my first time at this cafe and I wanted to try something matcha so I decided on the lychee matcha with a cold foam for the design to sit on top for $7.75. I chose a cute little pikachu. I also requested to add coconut milk for an additional $0.50. When I received the drink it was too cute to drink but I went for it. The cold foam was a nice thick enough layer for the design. I keep drinking and drinking and I didn't taste any hint of lychee nor did I taste any hint of coconut milk. Service was good but the I believe my drink order was a miss and just tasted like regular matcha with whole milk. I think I'll have to try a different drink for next time.

What a cute hidden gem inside the Merchantile! How fun to look around at all of the small local businesses and find this cafe waiting for us at the end of it. The foam art was FUN! This is a great place to catch up with a girlfriend or have some solo Bible time :-)

Went on Father's Day. Enjoyed how it was inside of a store that carried different merchants items. The staff at the coffee shop were very sweet. My sister's coffee wasn't strong enough so she asked for an additional shot and they gladly brought her one. I like the nice touch of the pictures printed on the cold foam. Would definitely come here again. The coffee was also really good!

This place has one of the friendliest crew I've ever met. Their chocolate chip sourdough muffin is definitely something you need to grab. You can taste high-quality ingredient they put in there, as well as as the softness of the dough. I love this place! The coffee shop is inside the store where you can shop and interesting memorabilia can be found all over the place. Super clean, super organized. Easy to find anything.. definitely must see location.

It's inside of a store. There is a back entrance. There's a parking lot in the back as well. I got the brown butter caramel latte. Also you get to choose your design. The cold foam was good and thick! The drink reminded me of an ice cream. It was good.

Super super awesome service! They were LIFESAVERS when I forgot my computer charger oh a work trip. The kind lady there did not even hesitate to let me borrow their charger and insisted I use it for however long I needed!!!! Very very nice, kind gesture that I will hold dear to my heart for life. My pistachio latte was excellent as well! Better than Starbucks and Peet's. Cold foam with the design was a cute little touch! I am crowing this cafe the best coffee spot in all of old Scottsdale! Beautiful, clean, crisp, chill space to relax or work, and excellent, lovely staff!

Pleasantly surprised! I walked in thinking I need a wake me up. But left without ordering anything. Came back with my son who just woke up. This place is the entrance of a mercantile that is not yet open. When you walk in, everything is clean and white, the baristas friendly. The biggest surprise was the choice of templates to add to the top of your beverage. I was pleased with the selections! Who doesn't love Hello Kitty?! The vibe and flavor was all there. Perhaps my new coffee spot for Scottsdale!

Ordered: Iced Blueberry Matcha Latte (~$8): organic ceremonial-grade matcha, organic blueberry puree, organic oat milk (+50¢), blueberry cold foam with blueberry flakes Aya's take: I was in the area looking for an afternoon pick me up and stumbled upon Bright Side Cafe located inside The Merchantile (which has tons of cool vendors and worth checking out)! The Iced Blueberry Matcha Latte caught my eye and I'm glad it did. Side note, I love that they have customizable latte art - I chose a cactus to represent my trip to AZ! The matcha was fresh and earthy and the blueberry was tart and sweet. I absolutely loved the blueberry cold foam which added a creamy texture and added sweetness to the drink. Super tasty and vibrant aesthetic!

10/10. Coffee is delicious and organic. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Explained and gave me tips etc. it's soo cool that the give you an option to add a design to your coffee (included in the price!!) like what!! I loved that!! Bright Side is a hidden gem with some of the most delicious coffee, matcha, and pastries around. I've visited multiple times, and the staff is always warm and friendly. While the prices are a bit on the higher end, you can truly taste the quality ingredients and appreciate the consistency every time. The owners are a wonderful family, and the love they put into this business is evident in every detail.

If u use the back door u can get right to the shop, if not u can go through the store which has all of of super cute items. Very friendly staff. Allot of cool decorations for your match/coffees. The mango chai was good, not as sweet as I like but still good. I wasn't a huge fan of the blueberry but that's just me. I would love to go back and try their chai tea. read more

Cool little cafe that's part of mercantile. At first I thought they were closed because went early and mercantile wasn't open yet, but then I looked on insta and saw to enter from the back for the cafe! It is very clean in there, I liked the light fixtures. It's definitely a Christian focused coffee shop, pretty common in Scottsdale. Service was good and didn't have to wait too long. I love that they do art on the cold foam. I got a cold brew with Ube cold foam and got a cute snoopy joe cool picture on mine. Adorable! They have a bunch of pics as options or you can upload your own. The matchas looked really good so I'll have to try sometime! I will say maybe a bit too much cold foam for my cold brew, it was kinda overboard but otherwise good. The treats they had looked yummy too! Glad I went here today! read more

A cute little shop inside of the Merchantile. We almost couldn't find it but they do have signage on the sidewalk that indicates you are in the right area. The staff was friendly and fast. I got a blueberry matcha latte and my friends got strawberry matcha lattes. Both were very yummy, a perfect color, and just overall well-made. Drinks are decently priced. The latte art they offer is the CUTEST! There are quite a few options. I would come back. read more

Cute little space in The Merchantile, which is chock full of fun vendors if you're looking for a gift! Note there is a back parking lot with a door the leads straight to the coffee shop. Came by on a Saturday morning and it was quite busy, so we browsed and shopped while waiting for our drinks. There's matcha and coffee specials starting at $7.75 which includes a fun foam design! Got a strawberry matcha with a desert cactus scene and the aesthetics were on point. Taste-wise, not too bad, felt like the drink could've been colder but I'd take the design over drink temperature. My friend got a coffee latte with a bow design and unfortunately the ice cubes floated to the top and misconfigured it. read more

Just earned brownie points for taking my girl here. She loved the coffee and the where it was at. Its in a local store that sells merchandise from small businesses. While we were waiting for our coffee we were walking around looking at all the stuff they were selling. Other than the coffee looking great, it ACTUALLY tasted so amazing. read more

Shop was very cute and staff were very sweet and helpful, but I didn't like the coffee, I got a hot latte and that's my go to just plain but this tasted like the coffee was burned. It had a cute design on the top of our drinks, it's a neat experience but not a place I'd go back to for coffee regularly. read more

Fresh, delicious organic coffee. Friendly service. We loved the art on the foam, so many options to choose from and they can do chocolate or strawberry milk with flavored cold foams for the kids! We definitely had to get the K-pop demon hunters images. This is located in the cutest shopping space with what seemed to be selling items from many different local vendors. I wish I had more time to shop in this space. read more

Super cute shop to visit. As you walk in it's a bunch of little shops and at the end is the coffee shop! Great atmosphere. I went with my 3 friends. I got the brown sugar caramel latte and it was ok, tasted like something i could've made from home and the mango matcha just tastes like milk and mango. This place is just amazing - they do everything right! From the adorable pictures they do on top of the iced latte foam to the coffee ice cubes so your drink doesn't dilute to the yummy flavor combos - it's just perfection! If you enjoy overly sweet and milky coffee this is the place for you. They market the drinks as organic, but there's nothing organic about the bright purple lavender Monin syrup that they use behind the coffee bar. All of the seating is for 2 people, good luck if you are in a group of 3 or more people getting together for coffee. The service was fast which was impressive but it definitely came at the price of an unbalanced coffee. The store it's attached is super cute, but if you're looking for good coffee this is not the place for you. Do yourself a favor and walk to Cartel down the street. read more

Great service and really cute place! Love that everything is organic and the prices are still normal. I got the strawberry matcha and it was really sweet and not super matcha tasting but that was expected with the strawberry purée and strawberry cold foam. My sister got the chai with vanilla cold foam and it was AMAZING! Great amount of spice and flavor. Will definitely be getting that next time. read more

I stopped by for the first time to try it out! I got the hot matcha with vanilla. It cost $7.56, took about 10 min to prepare, and it was not bad but not at all worth the price or wait time. The drink was not as creamy, as full, nor as large as I expected for nearly $8. They did not ask about the milk, but apparently it was whole milk, but it didn't taste as creamy as I was expecting. The flavor was pretty good. The cup was not filled up all the way, and it appears to be a 12-oz cup. They have no food options other than a few muffins and cake pops. Overall, I would not recommend it unless you are stranded there and desperate. But maybe the other drinks with strawberry puree, etc., are tastier. The barrista came to check on me and informed me that the cold drinks were the most popular with strawberry or other fruit purrees and cold foam on top. She also offered to remake it for me, but I did not want to be charged again. It is located inside the Mercantile building with vendors, so it is in a bright cheery environment. The service is casual and friendly. read more

We made it our mission to try a new coffee shop every day of our Scottsdale trip. We are on day 8 and Bright Side Cafe is the best so far by a landslide. Amazing coffee flavor. Went to a few places near here looking for good matcha. This was the only place that I would keep returning to for a matcha. Tried about 5 different drinks of theirs and they were all good. The strawberry matcha tasted like it had real strawberry puree and the matcha taste was strong. Not too sweet either. Cute spot with handmade item booths to look at while waiting for your drink. read more

We were in town for a soccer tournament and wanted to try different coffee shops so we went here. I got the blueberry latte iced and it was delicious! The service was great with staff being very friendly. It was inside a store that had all kinds of things from clothing to souvenirs so you could go shopping while waiting! I wish I could give more than five stars. This place has some of the best coffee I have ever tasted! The baristas are friendly and knowledgeable, and they offer the option of artwork on your coffee. Choose from a bible verse or desert themed picture, so cool. Located in the make of a multi booth mercantile in Old Town so you can either browse unique gifts or sit down at one of the cafe's tables. I wish they offered decaf, I would be here all the time! read more

The coffee here is really good, but what makes me keep coming back is that they use ice cubes made out of coffee! I've only found one other place that does it, and they're all the way in downtown Phoenix. This place is definitely my go to for the summer read more

I am blown away by how amazing this cafe is!! They take premium coffee to the next level. THEIR ICE CUBES ARE MADE OF COFFEE SO IT DOESNT WATER DOWN!!! I had the best experience here, I got a strawberry latte with strawberry cold foam and even a little picture of butterflies on top. Eugene was so nice to me and very helpful. It definitely rubbed me the wrong way, and I told her nevermind... I left and got another drink at Sip Coffee. I wasn't going to spend $18 on coffee there. Even with it being my fault, in customer service, that's not the right thing to do at all. Not in this economy! I also posted about my disappointment on my IG story and they saw my story and had an opportunity to make things right but they still chose not to! There are so many other wonderful coffee shops in Old Town who absolutely would never do this. Go to Brightside Cafe, Berdena's or Fourtillfour instead. All amazing options, and better coffee!! :)

While on the food tour we got a little bit of background on the founders of the establishment and their local success along with a wonderful Brown Sugar Cold Brew.
