Honestly, I was super nervous about getting my eye check up, because I was afraid what I would find out about my vision and eyesight. After hearing great reviews about the doctor here, I decided to give it a shot. I was definitely super happy I came to see Dr. Soong! He made me feel extremely comfortable, and did a great job of relating to me. IMO, a person who is great at his/her craft can take the complexities of what they do and simplify it so everybody can appreciate and comprehend their craft. Dr. Soong is great at this and I was very impressed. In the past, other optometrist have tried to fit me with contact lenses, but for one reason or another, it's always been difficult and uncomfortable for me to put them on. Dr. Soong actually took a ton of time to explain to me what I was doing wrong, and helped me try on different lenses until I felt comfortable. I think going that extra mile really put him over the top in my eyes. I highly recommend everyone to come here if they need anything help with their eyes and vision. Making an appointment was super easy, and they e-mailed me an online patient evaluation form to fill out prior to the appointment in order to save time. When I came in for my appointment, the young lady at the front was so welcoming and kind. She even offered to clean my current glasses for me! Per recommendation from a friend, I decided to come here instead of my typical walmart/costco optometrists. I was due for a checkup, and I also wanted to purchase prescriptive sunglasses, and they were superb. Upon walking in, Brian helped us quickly register. He was friendly, polite and courteous on answering my stupid questions both before registration, and after my exam for my sunglasses purchase but I will get to that after. Oh, he also did those pre-checkup where you stare into the red barn thing (those of you who have had eye exams would know what I'm talking about). I guess I should note they dont have that instrument where it blows into your eye! if you are like me and despise that part of eye exam, come here, haha. Dr Soong saw me soon after. He walked me through everything I was used to doing (I've had contacts for many years). He also mentioned to me I have slight astigmatism which none of my doctors before me NEVER mentioned. He tested me out on some lenses and prescribed me one. (he did way more than any doctors have done in my years Ive had contacts/glasses lol) At this point he asked me when was the last time I had my eyes dilated, which happened to be a year. So, I decided to get that done too. Overall exam was typical procedures as any other place but he did do extra things my other doctors have not done.. Dr Soong was a mixture of polite and friendly, which is good! None of those stern, quiet doctors who make your 15min checkup feel like an hour haha. Anyway afterwards Brian walked me through bunch of sunglasses they had, and let me know the pricepoints. Unfortunately I have vision of a bat (really bad eyesight) my lens came costly, but it was SO worth every penny. My commute to/from work in sunrise/sunset is not a problem anymore! I've had bad vision since I was in 3rd grade, so going to the optometry was a norm for me. I went to different places throughout the years because I was never comfortable with the previous optometrists or I wanted a place that was more convenient to where I lived. So when I was recommended Bright Vision Optometry, I was hesitant because I lived in Chinatown but since this place had such high ratings, I decided to just go for it. By far the best decision that I've made. When I walked in, I noticed how clean and modern the place was. I was warmly greeted by the staff, both Connie and Brian. I also noticed how they not only treated me, but another guest that was there at that time (they picked out glasses for her while she was getting her eye examined). Something that I've never experienced at another optometry office. Connie was very sweet and made me feel comfortable when she did the pre-test on me. Dr. Soong soon took me in for my eye examination for both glasses and contacts. He got to know my lifestyle and took the time explained things to me in terms that I understood. They are knowledgeable, efficient, and thorough, and will catch anything that your average optometrist might miss. Since I only need to do it once a year, why not come to professionals who can do it right the first time so I can leave with a peace of mind?! That to me, is MONEY WELL SPENT. Horrible service. First they charge you $20 in addition to trying to get you to pay the full amount when you have vision insurance that covers 100%. Second they try to up sell you contacts that you can purchase at Walgreens at a much lower rate than what they offer. The buy four boxes and get a rebate bait and switch doesn't work. My daughter had a vision appointment and it's been well over three weeks and she has yet to receive her contacts although they have already billed my insurance. When she called them to inquire Bright Vision claimed they were waiting to hear back from her before they placed an order. Ok so you've heard back from her and still no contacts so now we are contacting the insurance and the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. We realize businesses are suffering due to COVID, but so is everyone. I recommend going somewhere else for prompt, honest and reliable care. read more

There's a lot of good optometrists around and I've been to a few of them but nothing compares to Bright Vision. The brother/ sister team of Dr. Soong and Dr. Hsu is absolutely amazing. No can't go wrong with getting either of them for your eye exam, they're both friendly and knowledgeable and really takes their time with their exams. The opticians are also amazing here, Adrianna especially, she made sure my frames look and fit perfectly. They treat you like family here for sure. I also love the fact that they carry ProDesign which are the frames I prefer the most (coming from up north), they're the only ones I know that carry this frame brand nearby. Lastly, they use the latest technology when it comes to exams. They have this digital retinal scan thingy which I love because I hate getting my eyes dilated during exam, so yay for me! read more

I love this place! My go to place for all eye related problems! Dr. Soong and Dr. Hsu are both super genuine. The staff is amazing! Everyone is just so friendly! I always feel super welcomed!
