Looking for 12 pieces of pasta for $24. Then Brio is the place for you! Look, last time we were in house, things were good. But this time we got take out and it was not good at all. The pasta ala vodka had a literal 10-12 pieces of pasta, they were overdone and it didn't even have any sauce with it. We called to complain and the manager on duty, Miranda, said she was aware and it was the biggest complaint they've gotten over the holiday season and that there was nothing she could do. I stopped in and was happy to find I made it in time for happy hour. I ordered the calamari and white peach sangria from the happy hour menu. The calamari didn't have a lot of flavor but the sauces that are served with it added flavor. The white peach sangria was a nice light drink. I ordered the brio pasta and a side chopped salad for my entree. The vegetables in the salad were crisp and tasty. The pasta had no flavor. I had to add a ton of salt and pepper. I ordered a Cabernet and the glass was filthy, when I asked the Bartender for some napkins to clean the glass she was not very happy at all and threw the napkins on the bar top. The food was at best "so so" On a positive note the salad was actually not bad at all, chopped up very nicely with a vinaigrette. Our party of 10 had dinner at this restaurant this evening. The online reviews and photos seemed positive. Unfortunately, our we had one of the worst restaurant experiences in recent memory. First off, the restaurant designs and decore has the potential to be nice. However, the lights are way too bright and it's far too loud to offer any impression of a nice dining experience. I would say it was more akin to a dinner at Disney buffet than even a chain Italian restaurant like Olive Garden. Our server was beyond slow. While I can appreciate that many restaurants are understaffed, our waiter displayed a combination of incompetence, laziness and lack of caring that is hard to replicate. Our meal took 2.5 hours to be delivered. Getting water took 30+ minutes. Wine bottles were incorrect. Meals were cold when delivered and also prepared incorrectly. The manager was semi apologetic and offered a modest discount. Frankly, the person who seemed most empathetic to our experience was another server who we spoke to on the way out. She was very apologetic and did her best to encourage us to give the restaurant another chance. If I was the owner of this restaurant, I'd park myself in this location for a few weeks and probably replace half the staff. read more

I love Brio. Not gonna lie I always order the same lobster and shrimp pasta, but why change it if its delicious. They offer a variety of different dishes that are also great. If I could give them Zero stars I would !! My online order for pickup consisted of a spinach artichoke dip, a pasta ala vodka and a Gorgonzola cream Campanele. When I got home and opened the order up, the pasta ala vodka didn't even cover 1/2 of the bottom of the take out container. The Gorgonzola cream Campanele was a full container as one would expect. I anticipated returning to the restaurant and picking up a full order, however when I called and spoke to Miranda, the on duty supervisor, I was told that they were well aware of the portion size we received and it was in fact correct. There were 12 pasta shells with no sauce for $22 bucks. She continued to tell me that it was actually one of the biggest complaints this holiday season ‍ She then apologetically said I know it's frustrating but at the end of the day that's a corporate issue and I'm just the store supervisor. Well at the end of the day, I will never go back and I will make sure to warn people to stay away at every opportunity I get. Shame on you Brio. It was empty around 3 pm when I stopped for lunch on my way to NJ with a client and from here started the horrible experience!! A waiter who is very unprofessional and know nothing about customer service!! Took a long time to come take our order , long time to bring the food, long time to bring the check!! When my client asked for a melted butter on her food he said we don't have melted butter! She asked him , could you heat a piece of butter, melt it and bring it?? He said yes and then we heard his rude comments about it with the chef at the open kitchen counter! Same thing when my salad tasted so bad and first I thought it's that type of salad and I asked him to change it to a different salad that I know how it should taste very well (ceaser salad) , I also heard his rude comments with the kitchen about it!! Apparently the lettuce in the salad is not fresh at all!!! Disgusting and could be a Health issue!!! The food was tasteless and very small portion on my spaghetti!! NOTHING WAS GOOD TO MENTION!!! Who wouldn't enjoy a happy hour that begins at 9pm when you've worked past the regular 7pm cut off? Not all bars do this especially in the Christiana Mall vicinity but Brio does. A friend and I met for drinks after a closing shift on a Friday night and I was pleasantly surprised by the huge bar area, dimly lit ambiance and the hh specials. The blackberry martini was definitely good but I have to say the spicy shrimp appetizer was phenomenal just as Crystal E said. The bartenders are friendly too. I would only go back for happy hour specials others wise don't see the price making sense for the quality of food and service. The Route 95 corridor through Newark, Delaware is not exactly the hot bed of fine dining. So, we opted for Brio Tuscan Grille, one of the many restaurants located at the Christiana Mall conveniently accessed right off of Exit 5. Well, I must say, for a chain restaurant I was pleasantly surprised. There were 5 of us and not one person left a morsel uneaten on their plates. The food was that good!! We all went with various seafood entrees (Grilled Salmon Fresca, Shrimp Mediterranean, and the Pesce Piccata). I love this place. I've met gal pals here and I love when my husband and I are around during their happy hour! We were lucky enough one day to be seated outside with a lovely breeze and I wanted to order everything but settle for splitting with the hubs: calamari, sausage & ricotta flatbread, the carpaccio and some drinks. Our food was great, I love the two sauces you get with the calamari and that they fry peppers with it. YUMMMMMM. My white sangria was a bit lite but very refreshing and the hubs had a few blue moons. Presentation of the carpaccio was on point in their long white dish. I believe during weekdays you can even get a lunch half salad/soup and past or flatbread. Food: we love the food here everything we have ordered has been delicious, minus the lite drink 4/5 Atmosphere: I have dined inside with my gal pals before and it is big and spacious, not too overcrowded, this def could be a romantic place if taking someone out for a dinner date but I assume it gets quite busy and loud on weekends/evenings. We really enjoy (when avail/able) dining al fresco. 5/5 Price: Everything was about average price, but I must say stop by during happy hour for a bite and a drink and save some $. this review is based off take out services. ordered online for lunch, it took about 20 mins for the food: lobster bisque, shrimp and eggplant and the lunch chicken mezza. they package the food well and staple the bag shut which I love. the food itself was amazing, my only take away would be to add more sauce to the chicken mezza which is a dish that resembles chicken parm. but the serving sizes are plentiful even for it being a lunch special. they even provide crunchy Italian bread and butter for your take out meal which is often times the best part of dining in. keep doing what you do, brio ! read more
