The glazed is the perfect amount, a little crispy, and perfect size of the donut leaves you wanting eating more. I got some milk, it was in a small container probably about 6-8 ounces. Parking can be a little tricky, near the board walk it's private lots and they were asking $45 for the whole day. Not ideal if you are coming to get donuts. If you can have someone drop you off and you run and get the donuts or park in the street meter for $3 an hour. One of the best donuts I have ever had. Britt's is an institution that has been around since 1939. They keep it simple here. You can buy glazed donuts and milk. If they sell something else it doesn't matter and I don't know about it. I came here for the third time this past week with my family and we ordered a dozen donuts. Donuts cost $1.00, but you can get a dozen for about $10 dollars. You can also get a small cup of milk. Nothing is better than coming in and sitting down at the bar and waiting on your donuts to arrive. The smell is magic. I am generally health conscious, but I crushed four donuts.... Remember to bring cash since this place is CASH ONLY. The staff is pretty big on nights, since so many people come to enjoy these crack donuts, but expect to wait at least 5-10 minutes. I give Britt's 4/5 wishing I could give them a 4.5, but I don't think it deserves a 5/5. The donuts taste like a cross between a glazed donut and a funnel cake. They are quite tasty and not overly sweet like I was expecting. The shop itself is simple, typically crowded, and right off the boardwalk. This is a "must try" when you are in or nearby Carolina beach. The only downside is that some of the donuts are a bit too greasy for me, there is usually a long line/wait, and there is really only one thing on the menu (besides water, coffee, and Pepsi products). The donuts are hot and melt in your mouth yet crispy at the same time.. it's magic! There is usually a line. However, it moves fast and it's WELL WORTH IT. Don't forget to bring your cash because it is a 'cash only' shop. The donut shop is located right on the boardwalk so there's plenty to see and do while there. Eat your donuts right on a swing located on the boardwal while watching the waves for the best experience. I recommend this place 10/10. We arrived at the beach early to get a great view of the ocean. Before heading in I noticed a line of people waiting. My brother-in-law stated that is the donut shop that I was telling you about. Prior to our arrival he was raving about Britt's Donuts and how good they were. Lucky me we happened to park near the location. After settling at the beach I decided to walk over and give it a try. It did not take much convincing for me to have donuts for breakfast ha. When I approached the shop several people were waiting for their orders but my brother-Inlaw stated "it moves fast". I was able to walk up and order and wait with everyone else. While waiting a met a nice lady and asked had she had the donuts before and she stated several times. I wanted to know what they tasted like lol. Are they better than Krispy Kreme ? Several people around me said BETTER!! One lady said they reminded her of her deceased grandmother and she tested up the first time she tried them. I immediately got excited because her memory was nostalgic and I love KK donut's especially when the Hot Sign is on. I enjoyed my conversations with several strangers and before I knew it my order was ready. I ordered a dozen of donuts. They were hot with a slight crisp and amazing center. I ate 3 within minutes I really enjoyed the donuts because they were not overly sweet but they give you exactly what you need. I was surrounded by loyal Britt's Donuts customers it felt like a rites of passage where the veteran customers gave me a stamp of approval before I even took my first bite. I didn't need much convincing the line of people first thing in the morning spoke volumes and hey, they have been around since the 1930's to their credit. The donuts at Britt's are light, crunchy, and sweetened to perfection. This family own-shop has a great home made recipe. I was able to come here on a day when they didn't have a line wrapping around the corner, and my fiancee and I both ordered one donut. For 80 years Britt's has been serving up donuts on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk! It's a really unassuming place that only has a small counter seating area. But then again, if all you're getting is a donut and coffee, that's all you really need. The donuts are not cake based, nor like Krispy Kreme, but have the taste of a funnel cake you get at a state fair! While I enjoy a funnel cake for sure, I only want one once a year. How could I not give this landmark anything less. I first experienced Britt's about 10 years ago and it is a must visit anytime I'm in Wilmington. A hot fresh donut with a cold milk is paradise on the boardwalk. I love the history too..and really I love the business model and the fact they haven't had the need to get fancy and weird. Kinda has the vibe of Geno's Steaks in Philly....one product and one only....made the same way for 85 years now. Last visit I only waited about 20 minutes.
