I love this little place. Perfect little small town eatery. The two couples that own and run it are so friendly and love interacting with our kids. Best of all, the food is always hot, cooked to order, and scrumptious. We love sitting out on the patio under the warm mountain sun - perfect setting for a tasty meal. Great price great food. So while on my way to show a few homes. I stopped in for a quick breakfast. Just wanted eggs and bacon. Not a main dish but not expensive to put together. This cafe exceeded my expectations in every way. My family and I originally went there because they were dog friendly and not far away from the cabin we were staying at but not only were they dog friendly, they asked if we wanted a dog water bowl right away and said there were treats available on the inside and were very friendly. I and two other family members had the beef brisket sandwich and it was beyond delicious!! We also had ordered a carafe of bloody Mary's and they were really refreshing. One of our favorite places for breakfast/lunch in Big Bear. Great portions, yummy food, and reasonably priced. They are often busy on the weekends and the food is cooked to order so it can be a short wait for food (20 min). The owners/staff are super nice and will accommodate almost anything. I asked for a cheese steak but, they didn't make them BUT, he customized my sandwich and made it into a cheese steak anyway. He even said, he might have to add it to the menu. Overall, a nice diner that serves the purpose. The owners were very nice and attentive and the food was overall good. Portions are huge so my husband and I could have shared. I ended up not finishing my entire breakfast burrito. There are only three tables inside so prepare for that. So saw this place on yelp and it was suggested as a recommendation through the place we booked our cabin with. We had a party of 8 hungry people . We called ahead to see if it would help us with the limited seating but they wouldn't accommodate and that's fine. The main reason for is choosing this place over the others was the Sunday breakfast options and other cheap menu options. All you can eat pancakes and eggs and bacon for $6.50... and everyone's pictures of the breakfast looked good. But when we came they weren't service anything but this option. And it wasn't $6.50 it was $8/each. And $1 for each topping like blueberry etc. but it was for a good cause and it helped support small business as well. So that's good . But it's still a bummer that's all they were serving. There was the cutest little waitress but when she came out we were confused st which one was the blueberry and chocolate chip and when we asked her she was about to grab the pancake and lyft it up to check with her fingers and her fellow young waitress friend grabbed the plate from her and gave us what she thought was the right one . They were still wrong but we switched them around halfway into eating . We will probably opt for Denny's next time but it was an interesting experience. read more

This cafe has incredible food, both for lunch and breakfast. All you can eat pancakes on Sunday - and their pancakes are really good. Their tri tip sandwich is loaded with steak and cooked to perfection. Their chili is famous (yes, they do chili fries/tots too). They have beer and milkshakes. We came to big bear for my daughter's birthday and she chose this place based on the name because she's really into musical theater and the name caught her eye. This was an awesome surprise when finding out the Hawaiian items on their menu from the Kalua pork to the Huli Huli chicken they did an excellent job. They had a solid Loco Moco plate and don't pass up on the JT sandwich. My kids loved and raved about the hot chocolates. My boyfriend and I spent the labor day weekend in Big Bear, and to our disappointment most of the restaurants had 45 minute wait time. We were so frustrated and hungry, so we decided to give the Broadway Cafe a try since it was the 4th place we've driven to. Did I also mention that we were craving pancakes? The service was so awesome that they even offered us a parking spot out front. It was a bummer that they did not serve breakfast anymore since we showed up at about 11:05am. And we were both stumped on what to order so we decided that the Kalua Pulled Pork Sandwich will do the job for now. The wait for the sandwich was 20 minutes! Ok, here goes more waiting... Well if If I would have known about Broadway Cafe on Saturday, we would have hit this place first ! Thank you for saving our hunger and our pockets! I been to this place a few years back and told myself never again. My brother told me to give it another try and thinks the owners might of changed since the last time I ate there. WoW he was absolutely right, awesome service and great food. Went there today for breakfast and it was $8 all you can eat pancakes that came with scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage or both with OJ and Coffee.
