Our first time coming here for lunch. I had a hamburger and husband had an Avocado Bacon Cheeseburger. Portions are very generous and I had to clamp down on my burger to bite it. I found the burger to be a bit on the dry side though, even with French dressing and other condiments on the burger. I ordered a small order of fried zucchini to go with the burger, which was good. We had water to go with the lunch and it tasted a bit odd-had to ask for lemon to mask the taste. The cost was $30.55 before tax and tip. Service was good. The wait staff answered our questions and were friendly. There are only 3 tables inside and 5 mostly shaded tables outdoors. It was a hot day and I was hot throughout lunch .

We took a quick day trip to Big Bear Lake to catch a little snow before the big storm and asked some locals for food recommendations. First question they asked us: "Do you like burgers?" Yes. Immediate yes They sent us to Broadway Café, and it did not disappoint. It's just past the Village, right off the main road by the lake, with easy parking on site. There's a small outdoor patio (great for pets or groups) and a cozy indoor space (only like 3 or 4 tables inside). The staff was incredibly friendly, especially the girl at the register, who was such a gem. You can see the chef in the back cooking, which is always a good sign. We ordered two burgers and fries to share, and wow... the burgers were HUGE and super filling. The fries were freshly made and hit the spot with a little salt and ketchup. Best part? We spent under $30 for both of us. Affordable, delicious, and great quality. Fun Broadway-themed décor too, especially if you love theater vibes. Highly recommend if you're visiting Big Bear and craving a solid burger spot.

Amazing first experience here. Very cozy atmosphere, super friendly people, and the food was really delicious. You can tell they care about both the service and the vibe of the place. This was my first time visiting Broadway Cafe, and I'll definitely be stopping by every time I'm in the area for business or nearby. Really enjoyed it and looking forward to coming back again.

I thought everything was pretty good, but I get the most basics of breakfasts (scrambled eggs with a side of avo). I did try their blueberry pancake which was yummy! Hubby got a salad with chicken and a burger the two times we've been. He was like it was "okay." Service is friendly, but slow, but I think it's just the mountain-lake vibe, a lot of restaurants in BB seem to be lacking the urgency us impatient city folks are used to.

We drove by this place and decided to give it a shot... They only have three table tables on the inside but they have outside seating and a deck. It has a really great vibe and ambience inside with very friendly staff and really excellent food I had a bagel sandwich very good! Vegetarian options too. Highly recommend

Staff is super friendly. Came originally for the lattes... the house made syrups are the best, but they are seasonal! Comes in a huge cup. Breakfast burrito was sopo good esp with the green salsa it comes with. The pancakes are also really fluffy and tasty with the butter, didn't even need all the strawberry sauce, but good if you're a sweet tooth. Will be back

Food was yummy and filling, though nothing exceptional. Inside the restaurant is small and cozy, and they also have outside dining. It's a great place to stop on your way to or from snow tubing. I'd recommend!

I don't understand the good reviews, it wasn't good at all and the service was bad. I asked for a chicken tortilla soup and what came out was salted water, no chicken and definitely not an original soup. I also asked for a coffee but I had to drink what was left from hours ago bc the skinny dude didn't want to make a new batch. My Gatorade took forever to be handed to me and I was really thirsty. Didn't like at all. read more

Neat atmosphere - decor is theater themed. Owned and run by big theater supports. Good was great - nothing fancy - but excellent (and big) burgers, and very generous portions of fries. Probably could have split one combo with my wife. read more

I'TS GOOD YOU SHOULD! What an great little place! It's further proof for my theory that the hole in the wall dives are the best place to eat. There are 3 tables inside, although plenty of space outside. We were grateful to get an inside spot as it was 40 degrees out. The staff was so welcoming we felt as comfortable as family. The food was all reasonably priced, and the portion sizes were huge! I ordered the Ortega burger with onion rings. That burger was incredible - one of the best I've ever had. The onion rings, made on site, were also amazing. My husband ordered the Southwestern burger and loved it as well. This place is dog friendly, has a kid's menu, and also a vegetarian menu. Good beer selection, too. If you're looking for a great burger in Big Bear, give this place a whirl. You'll be glad you did. read more

This is an AMAZING place. Burger tasted homemade and was GREAT. Brisket was good. Milk shakes and fried zucchini was out of this world. Most importantly the young woman and man working today were PHENOMENAL. their customer service made this the best restaurant I have been to in big bear. Thank you so much for the great food and most amazing NICE service I have ever had. My wife and I will be back next year when we come to big bear. read more

This was probably the best eating experience was phenomenally awesome. Scott and Ashley were so helpful and entertaining. The restaurants around here need to learn Broadway's customer service. Also, the portions here are way larger than normal. Make sure you come here hungry. Seriously, makes the family want to become regulars here! Keep up the good work guys!!!!!!! read more

Based off of the reviews and 4.5 star rating, my expectations of the food were sadly underwhelming. I would have left a 2-star review, but I gave an extra star for the ambiance of an outdoor patio with live music. The burger my gf ordered was from a frozen patty - if the visible edges of the round patty were not a dead giveaway, the taste of frozen patty lingered in the mouth with every bite. The wet center of the fried zucchini indicated that this menu item was also previously frozen. I had the veggie extravaganza melt, nothing to write about. Ending on a positive note though, the peach iced tea was tasty and refreshing, and the ice cream in the root beer float was creamy and delicious. The staff was friendly. This was a quaint spot, they could step up the food quality by going all fresh food. Even it raised the prices for better quality, it would be worth it. read more

We went there to order 2 hot chocolates and 2 hot teas. We understand that with covid, things can get a little tough. However that does not mean that it needs to take 40 minutes to receive our order. The line couldn't have been more than 5-6 people long. Two large families received full meals and finished their food all while we waited. We would check in every 10 minutes and the only responses we would get were "it's on the way" or "we ran out of hot water so we are boiling more" but even after those answers we still waited 20 minutes for them to boil water??? They gave us the tea bags to make our own tea, took 40 minutes to do god knows what, ended up telling us they put our water cups in the microwave, and still charged us the price of a coffee for a lukewarm cup of water that took 40 minutes. And the hot chocolate was disgusting. Absolutely never coming back. read more

The BEST food in Big Bear, Period! We were going to the "other" burger place in town but Broadway Cafe came highly recommended with price and quality of food. Forget the "other" burger joint. Everyone at Broadway was friendly, fun and made us feel like friends over for lunch. Their menu has a wide variety of everything from breakfast items in the morning and lunch items after. My wife had the Broadway deluxe sandwich, my daughter had the chicken ranch sandwich and I had a patty melt. We all agreed, each of us had the best of what we ordered. The chicken ranch sandwich was the best my daughter ever had, as was my patty melt. The Broadway Deluxe had roast beef, swiss cheese, green Ortega Chile and tomato on toasted sourdough. My wife loved it! We now have a "Must stop at" place to eat when in the Big Bear area. read more

Great food. Same price as some fast food but don much better. Fresh cooked so wait is a Tiny bit long. Tiny inside but nice size outside seating when its not too cold. Fried zucchini was great and also the BLT. The burgers are decent but we only got regular burgers not any specialty one. I died a little inside when I realized my fried zucchini was all gone. read more

Nice people, very good food, the burgers are works of art. Burgers are cooked on a open fire grill. Quite the assortment of burgers and BBQ. THEY EVEN SERVE BREAKFAST HERE. I've been eating burgers for 50 years and this is worth the drive to Big Bear. ( the last 6 years eating nothing soy meats and veggie burgers) the smell of coking burgers made fall off the wagon). Please don't tell my doctor. IT WAS TOTALY WORTH IT! I figure once a week......BEST BURGERS ON THE MOUNTAIN! read more

This is the worst place ever to get food in big bear. The old lady with the short hair at the register is RUDE AS FUCK. We waiting for an hour just for a cheeseburger. And when I went to inform the lady at the register after 45 minutes she cut me off mid talking with a really RUDE comment and didn't even hear me out. She obviously doesn't acknowledge that she's working for me and my money. And she obviously doesn't deserve any of it. She yells at everyone and has no respect for anyone. I will never , ever, go here again. read more

Came to this place because of the great reviews and I was not let down! My girlfriend and I ordered a burger, half a chicken, and a milkshake for less then $20! The milkshake was phenomenal, the burger was amazing. I don't think I've ever had a burger like that, it had hash browns, cheese and other delicious stuff. Definitely would recommend the breakfast burger. We came back the next morning, the breakfast burrito was a hit as well and it was huge. read more

Such a cute little place to grab a good sandwich. It's not your average sandwich shop though. They had a great variety of options to chose from. My husband had the beef brisket and he loved it. I ordered the tuna melt and it was great as well. The owners were so warm and friendly. My husband is usmc and the owner is former usmc, so there was an immediate connection there. We are out of towners, and they gave us some great ideas and places to check out. Super great little joint. read more

Just made a trip out here to have breakfast based on Yelp reviews. It's 9:18 am now, there are two OPEN signs and the place is locked up. We are standing at the door with two small kids, it's windy as hell and it's about 20 degrees out. I attempted to approach an employee who is outside on her cell phone (older woman with a red Broadway Cafe sweater shirt on) when she turns her back to me. Won't be making it out here again. Initially I had seen this place on yelp and was not up for it but it was my hubbys turn to pick and i had not asked him what he picked turns out it was this place. LOL! The place is really small but the have a pretty big outdoor area and the staff was so nice. I got the chicken ranch sandwich with bacon it was massive and sooo good and an order of there tots which was also delicious my boyfriend got the brisket sandwich with onion ring the sandwich was pretty good overall I would definitely go back read more

So I have mixed reviews about this place. My first experience was awesome. The food was great. The staff was friendly. It is a locals place with a local feel. The second time I took my family to show them how good it was. Unfortunately it took forever to get our food and it didn't even all come out at the same time. To top it off, a few of us waited the long time to get cold food. It was a total bummer because our first time the food was piping hot and delicious. read more

(Two of the adults are in their 80's mind you.) We're really hungry lol. Two 4 seater tables finally open up in this tiny place. A small family of 3 shows up and knows the hostess (pixie haircut and piercings, don't know her name but can't miss her.) she waves them in and gets them one of the 4 seaters, no wait for friends I guess! 2 minutes later a third 4 seater opens up in the same row but she sat her friends at the one right in the middle. So they call our name and then tell us we have to separate our family to get seated and take the two 4 seaters on opposite ends of the table they gave away. They don't give a (insert your favorite curse word here). I guess it's okay though because they warn you on their menu that the staff might be moody lol! A great scapegoat for terrible service. Never again. Here's a tip to anyone reading: go literally 1 minute west down the road and eat at the first restaurant you see. They were phenomenal!

Our latest visit yesterday was still overall a very positive experience. Much to our delight, their buckwheat pancakes are still the best pancakes EVER (imho). These pancakes are the reason why we come to Teddy Bear every time. Something about the flavor and texture just makes them stand out. In fact, we no longer order pancakes anywhere else. Corn beef hash and pastrami hash are still so very flavorful and satisfying. The cinnamon cornbread is still good. Coffee might seem a little weak for some (like my husband) but good enough for me. Our server was super busy so service was understandably a tad slow but decidedly adequate.

I got a sourdough sandwich with bacon (can't remember the name, unfortunately) and an order of chili cheese fries. The sandwich was awesome, but those chili cheese fries were the real star of the show. The flavor was insane. Chef's kiss. If you've been hiking all day and need a place to refuel, this is it. Great food, great portions, and exactly what I needed after being on the mountain. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Big Bear. Ambiance was nice too, you can see the lake from the parking lot.

Mrs. Pickles was very friendly and took time to explain the ordering process how we can call in orders and things like that. I am so glad we came in here and gave it another shot. Also, while you're there, walk around and look at the amazing job, they did outside the restaurant of planting some sustainable food. TWO STARS THE GOOD : the food was good in taste didn't have much of a complaint on that . The look of the dinner is very small on the interior but the concept of decor is quaint and cute . Plus a great outdoor area THE NOT-SO GOOD: I came up the mountain to visit my family as I do every week and we stopped to try somewhere else besides our usual spots . We walk on being the only ones inside and outside the restaurant (besides the one lady leaving with a to-go ).Instantly we were met by a younger woman working the front and she already had a bad attitude when we walked in , not any "hi how are you" just a " there's full menus right there " and an irritated expression and went off to the back . As my family is aware they close at 7 we arrived at 5:15 to ensure enough time to eat so they can go about there business and have a quick close up and we weren't straggling in their diner . After the 2 others and myself started ordering she kept this irritated short snappy behavior like as if she absolutely hates her job . I totally get work is no one's happy place especially in customer service as I am a restaurant worker but still we tried to be as polite and courteous to her as we try to not be "those" customers but no matter what she made the mood of the environment unwelcoming and cold and kept a angry demeanor . Also I believe 10-15 dollars for a burger and having to order fries separately or get a combo for 3.50 more is ridiculous I would pay 12$ a burger if fries come included . Especially since we saw that their patties all come pre frozen so it makes me question the quality of meat I'm paying so much for ? OVERALL- we did our best to have a nice time and the rest of the workers were so sweet . It just gives off the energy of a family ran company and some granddaughter who just finished high school got roped into working there and she hates her job . Well! I just bought a cabin in the area, and my wife and I are betvyp-dUmsym-7nuqbo very exited to start supporting the local businesses on the mountain. After a long Friday, we decided to take the kids out to breakfast on Saturday, so we start looking on-line for restaurants with good reviews. Unfortunately, most of the good ones had a long wait time. She found this place with not bad reviews but when she called, we wondered why there was no waiting, but we decided to try it anyway. To make a long story short. The food was not too bad. But man, the service sucked!! It was a small place and 1 cook was yelling at customers to wear a mask meanwhile neither cooks were wearing masks. This place is the best. Everything about it is great. The food is fresh and delicious. The breakfast burrito is huge and hot. They make their own salsa, so that caught my attention right away. The service is top notch. Brenda was super friendly, funny and helpful. When I asked if they had steak and eggs, she said they didn't but directed me to where I could get some.
