Simply a great place to sit and relax, while enjoying the excellent coffee, tea, and food offerings. Leo and company are friendly and laid back and are of great service. All sorts of other events are being offered there, including D&D! Check it out, you will be happy you did.

    Inconsistent hours

This place is for darn sure NOT CLOSED. Whilst cruising by in Oak Park, I saw this place OPEN. Seriously. I try to support small businesses, but when I came by this place on two different occasions, they were closed. I don't know what happened, but on my Apple Maps, it's says this place opens at 6am and closes at 6pm. On a different occasion, it was 1pm when I drove by. I accepted it and hoped there would be another time. A person came out and told me they closed by 1. They could at least update their hours on Yelp or Maps. Then on a second occasion (which was a few weeks later), I drove by when it was 12pm, making sure to catch it in time before they closed. Unfortunately, they were closed. I ultimately gave up. Now, just today, it's OPEN! I didn't go inside because I really just gave up and I didn't think it was really worth it to try it a 3rd time. I have my limits when it comes to supporting small businesses. At least, the kindest thing they could do for themselves is update their Yelp and their Maps. Don't fool everyone out here and make them waste their time. I really wish I'd rate this place 0 stars just for being inconsistent, but Yelp forces me to give a 1 generous star.

London Fog Latte (left) and Vanilla Horchata Latte (right)

We loved our stop here today!! The best part about our stop was 100% the service. The barista was engaging and offered us more info about the drinks before we ordered. My boyfriend ordered a vanilla horchata latte, and the only he didn't enjoy was that it was a bit too sweet for his liking. I ordered the London fog latte and it was delicious - just the right amount of creamy and flavorful. I also ordered the fire side immunity shot which was like a kick in the pants!! Had jalapeños and apple cider vinegar in it and, unlike some of those cider vinegar drinks, it was tasty enough to sip on (although quite spicy). I also liked the vibe inside the cafe - lots of space to work/study and get things done. I will definitely be coming back here!

I came here for a meeting a few months ago and I fell in love with the atmosphere and their coffee. An added bonus to me was they make all their drinks with almond milk. I can't recall if they used soy milk as well. I was just excited about almond milk. They also have some tasty treats, breakfast burritos and beautiful artwork on the walls.

    Asiago bagel and mocha

A hidden gem in Sacramento! The service is superb, the food (particularly the bagels) is the best I've ever had, and the drinks are incredibly tasty. Some highlights: The Asiago Bagel: 10000/10. Truly the best bagel I've had - it was crispy and flavorful, yet soft on the inside. I dream about this bagel. The Lava Cake Tea Latte: 100/10. I had the opportunity to try a sample and while I was deeply hesitant, I ended up being pleasantly surprised at how good it was! Unfortunately I did not get a chance to try a full sized version but I plan to go back and try it. Mocha: 1000/10. It is on the sweeter side but I loved that about it. It had a bit of cinnamon which complimented the chocolate! They use oat milk in all their drinks which is *chef's kiss*! Great for all the folks like me, who are allergic to nuts! Service: 1000000/10. WOW. I didn't get a chance to catch the man's name, but he was the sole person working at the time. He made drinks, food, and still found time to visit with customers and bus tables. He was so kind and warm, truly a joy. This place reminds me of a big city hole-in-the-wall coffee shop. The kind of place you'd go to in Brooklyn to people watch, connect with the community, or have a quiet place to yourself. I truly cannot recommend this place enough.

Bacon & cheddar scone with a coffee
    Courtney P.

On a Sunday morning, my boyfriend and I walked over to Broadway Coffee to grab a cup of coffee and a small bite to eat. It was one of those places we had driven by a thousand times and never stopped in. The quaint coffee shop offers both indoor and (limited) outdoor seating. They serve Temple Coffee - classic coffee, lattes, etc. They also serve small bites to eat like quiche, scones, bagels, croissants, and even a breakfast burrito. I ordered a latte with almond milk (they don't Up-charge for milk substitutes) and an egg and feta croissant. My boyfriend got a black coffee and a bacon and cheddar scone. My biggest qualm (and the reason I didn't give this spot 5 stars): right after we paid full-price for our croissant and scone, they placed the exact same items on a plate and labeled them "Day old pastries, $1". What?! You literally just charged us full price for these exact same items! (Which cost us like $8). Anyways, just seemed a little unfair. Nice little coffee shop in the Oak Park neighborhood.

Cute little place for simply coffee orders. We enjoyed some drip coffee and a wellness shot. There is a some parking out front. If you are looking for something more than drop, latte, or mocha I wouldn't recommend. We also tried their hot chocolate which was the best hot chocolate I've ever had.

Great place for coffee and tea. Drinks were very reasonably priced. I love that Leo still sells the Classy Hippie Tea here in bulk too! Was able to get some of my favorites. The pastries and bagels looked delicious but I did not try anything. They also have live music here! Leo who is the owner is super friendly and fun to be around. Highly recommend!

Local coffee, awesome people and the perfect spot to get some work done in Oak Park!

Old, tried, and true. Broadway Coffee never disappoints with the friendly staff, local coffee, and neighborhood regulars. This is the missing ingredient in the coffee shops in the world today. This homey spot is frequented by old and young alike, with some sitting for hours and on daily or weekly basis. This is the place you come to have people know your name, get your coffee and watch a community grow. I'm here constantly. The sunrise African hibiscus tea is a delight. The burritos and turnovers are a delight and great morning breakfast. Jimmy is great, and he manages a great team to create the best coffee environment in town.

We were seated outside which was lovely, especially given the weather and the slight breeze. I appreciate that they offer an option for reservations. Many brunch places do not do those nowadays, which I hate. Every brunch requires a coffee. I appreciate that they do lattes here, rather than just hot or iced coffees. They had some unique syrups, such as bourbon caramel and praline. The syrups were on the more subtle side, which some people prefer. I am not one of those people, but it was a good latte for a breakfast/ brunch spot. I wish there was more ice tho.  The skillet cornbread with sharp cheddar, creamed corn & garlic, honey butter & house made seasonal jam on the side was a great starter dish. I enjoyed the garlic and cheese. The temperature/ toastiness of this was yummy.  We couldn't decide between the cornbread and the sticky bun, so the only obvious solution was to order both. The topping of the sticky bun was delicious. It was almost pecan pie adjacent.

It's been years since I've been, mainly because of the long wait times and no reservations on weekends. As a planner, I gravitate toward places where I can make a reservation. However, it was a special occasion, so we committed to it on a holiday weekend. The wait was estimated at 1.5 hours for a party of 7, but it ended up being closer to 40 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad at all. The patio and waiting area are gorgeous and make the wait worth it on a beautiful day. Great shade from the trees, solid service, and a really nice ambiance overall. The menu is massive with a little bit of everything and huge portions, so it's quite hard to decide. I settled on the Madame Cristo because it sounded decadent and somewhere between lunch and breakfast, which felt perfect for brunch. And decadent it was. The cheesy ham and béchamel blended into this super rich, fatty bite balanced by the French toast it was sandwiched between. The eggs on top were almost overkill, but still a welcome addition for some protein. The chipotle raspberry jam was surprisingly good too, almost like a smoky raspberry salsa that added sweetness and helped cut through some of the richness. The potatoes were standard and nothing to write home about. It was definitely a lot, but pretty good and exactly what you expect from a brunch spot like this. I'm not going to say the food is mind-blowing, but it's solid and they have unique dishes, great vibes, and something for everyone to enjoy. Nice to see that Tower Cafe is still doing well after all these years and remains a great place to celebrate special occasions.
