The menu is a bit limited, they carry alot of options in their specials, but I was kinda in an appetizer mood, to which their were few. My partner for the evening doesn't like fried food (I know, just horrible, haha) limiting our sharing options to less. However this 'forced' us to have the seafood and portobello in white wine garlic sauce. DELISH. Waited 15 minutes for a seat even though there were many tables open - they don't do reservations either. We ordered clams and they were very fishy. My sister and mom got fish and chips which they said was just alright. I had the buffalo wings - they were average at best. Service was alright, they were nice enough. Waited in line outside in the cold. There were four visibly open tables. The hostess just kept saying "It's October" as the excuse as to why no one got sat in the past thirty minutes. Three other couples left the waiting line after getting frustrated. AND the 16 year old hostess had the AUDACITY to pull out her lunch and ate it in front of a huge line of hungry, annoyed, and cold customers. That was so unprofessional, and we left as soon as we saw her eating in front of us. That is what designated break times and break rooms are for. read more

Great spot for lunch in downtown Salem. The menu has a little bit of everything so finding something should not be difficult. The portions are very generous. If the lobster reuben is on their lunch special menu make sure to order it or you will have many regrets. My only compliant is them not having sweet potato fries as a side. read more

I stopped in one rainy night in late October of 2010 while I was visiting Salem for Halloween! (which I recommend everyone do at least once in their lives). My reason for stopping was to get a cup of hot apple cider to keep me warm. It was served in a cup large enough to be a soup bowl, which was wonderful. I might have ordered food, but their menu was too difficult to decipher, and since I wasn't able to crack the code, I went to Essex Pizza at the Museum Place Mall just down the street. I went here last night. Food was bland, I had the fish and chips and they were both tasteless. Worse was the music. I sat at a table where speakers nearby were blasting heavy metal all night. Might have been a radio station, but really heavy metal isn't something that helps diners enjoy their meals and makes it hard to talk. We went here because it sounded good, also my friend's dog is named Brodie and we were looking for a shirt or glass. Well they don't sell merchandise with their name so we were out of luck. My friend and I ordered the bucket of booze expecting a large scorpion bowl of liquor. The "bucket" was less than 16oz and tasted like sunscreen. Not to mention the fact that it cost 23 DOLLARS!!! Delicious meal, although the atmosphere wasn't what I was expecting it was nice; think dive bar but a seafood place. I had the best seafood meal I had in town on our trip which was the Parmesan Haddock and a crab cake appetizer. My partner had fish and chips, both were good! Was advised that the kitchen closed at 10 and we asked in advance if we could still get food and someone told us yes and to sit down anywhere outside and a waiter would be with us shortly. After 5 minutes the waitress came out and immediately asked us if we were only getting drinks. Stated no, we wanted food and she then proceeded to tell us the kitchen will be closing in 10 minutes and we couldn't get food. A friend and I decided to stop in for one drink. A Bud light and a Vodka drink. Got the bill , it was 17.41 I gave a three dollar tip. The very next day there was a pending transaction on my debit account for 134.73. I called and spoke with Joe ( The owner) who proceeded to imply that I was responsible. I went back to the establishment and was shown a receipt where my card was ran, but the signature where it was signed was not mine. He gave me cash to cover it but, the feeling I got from the whole experience I can honestly say I will never do business with these people again. And you probably shouldnt either. read more

The newest eatery jewel of Salem. Great food, good prices, super friendly and helpful staff. Our two dogs were allowed to join us at outside seating, and the dogs were treated as well as we were. We had everything seafood and it was all good - lobster quesadilla, fisherman's platter, and good desserts too. This is a terrific place to get a good meal, quickly and with an attentive staff, at an affordable price - we'll be regulars for sure. This place really takes casual dining up a notch. read more

TERRIBLE service. We sat on the patio for 15 minutes after being seated, and none of the waitstaff came to offer water or take orders of any kind, despite all of them having plenty of time to congregate around the hostess stand and talk. We tried making eye contact to no avail. Finally managed to flag down a girl delivering food to the table next to us. When we let her know that nobody had been by our table yet (and can we please have some water?) she told us to take it up with the hostess. I'm not usually one to leave reviews, but I had to sit down and write one for the outstanding service, food and atmosphere. I was in a real bind, and Brodies Seaport saved the day! My wife was having a big Birthday (I won't mention how old.. lol) that I wanted to make special,,, but with all the COVID-19 restrictions we really couldn't plan a party or normal event. The staff worked with me to create a 'safe distancing' environment on the patio, where we could entertain guests at separate tables,, and we somehow pulled off a fun evening event while abiding by all the mandated safety guidelines. Kelsey our server was outstanding and on top of everything, providing great service and attention throughout the evening. The chef did a great job with choice cuts of steak and seafood that everyone made comment on.. I'm sure they've made a few more customers because it was so good. I have eaten here many times and never had a bad meal. The bartenders make a great drink, sooo many tasty margaritas we drank them out of Patron. Despite all the challenges, the owner and staff made this the special event I was hoping for. I would highly recommend to anyone in the Salem area to visit to Brodie's Seaport Grill for a 'safe environment' featuring live music, great food, drinks and excellent service! read more

Brodie's is a destination, a haven of delicious cuisine, and a home - warm and filled with smiling faces and servers who ask, "How was your day?" And REALLY mean it. The food here is phenomenal. Melt in your mouth steak tips, burgers topped with generous portions of real lobster, and all at a price that is reasonable for the North Shore, given the quality and deliciousness of the plates. These guys need to be on Restaurant Rescue. Maybe if they get the secret video they will see that service is S L O W and erratic, staff and owners are rude to customers and food is both mediocre and pricy. The band was good but too loud for the size of the space so acoustics made it uncomfortable. There are tons of good places to go to in the area so they've had their two strikes from me. I'm local and go out a lot. This place is like the anti-Cheers-- they don't want to know your name and they don't really give a damn. You know how in simulation games - like the Sims or whatever - you create all these cool characters to represent yourself or family members or Johnny Depp? And then you place them in virtual scenarios and see how they react? And you know how while your paying attention to these creations, there's all sorts of stuff going on in the background? Like, you're focused on the Mom, Dad and kid you made from scratch and wondering how they'll behave in Sim Mall, but in the meantime the game itself has created all these random stores on the fly to occupy the rest of Sim Mall - a pet shop with the same dog chasing its tail over and over again, some salon with a woman getting her hair permed that never quite seems to be finished and that one restaurant where the guy is nursing his glass of soda and poking up from a newspaper while the chef just shuffles back and forth and the waitress hits up the same tables in the same order asking the same questions. Seaport Cafe is the auto-generated restaurant in that game. It's about as ho-hum and average as you can get. I can't say anything terribly bad about the place but neither can I throw it compliments. They have average menu items cooked in an average way, average specials that you'd expect from this type of place, average decor, average beer in bottles and average beer on tap, average service (actually, it may be slightly below average, but not really worth complaining about). This place is just about the most perfect 5 out 10 spot imaginable. Normally, average doesn't bother me much, but for a location with such potential in a city with a lot of other less average options I can't help but feel sad for this one and can't help but think its days are numbered. read more

This is my 2nd review. I gave this place 3 stars when they first opened as they seemed promising, now I take them all back. This place has really regressed and is now AWFUL! Hot blacktop front yard with tables that slant, a clueless waitstaff and obnoxious heavy metal music blasting. Not sure how the food is here because we waited 40min in a line..we were 10th in line at the door, the hostess was inattentive to the line and not informing people of the long wait. As we stood in line I could see 2 open tables with a 3rd and 4th being cleaned off and no one was being seated even after 10 more minutes passed. The final blow that made us leave was when the hostess brought out a sandwich to eat at her station.... does anyone else see how wrong this is?! Go to your break room or out of sight from a line of about 25 hungry patrons waiting like idiots! Customer service was so poor based on that alone! read more

The cooks were on point, we watched the food come out quickly, then sit for a while before the servers would pick up the orders.The food was basic, not bad but it didn't blow my Nuva ring out or anything. It atmosphere was very quiet, there wasn't any background music, I mean, c'mon, give us a little Luther Vandross. The window seats are great for people watching! Their food is very good and quite reasonably priced, but their service really needs some work. Nice people, but verrrrrry slow and not familiar enough with the contents of the dishes they serve - e.g., I ordered "a cup of chowder, but only if it doesn't have bacon in it." Guess what I found in my first spoonful? That's right, a big ol' hunk of swine flesh. The server also told my companion that his steak tip sandwich would be served on a "sub-type roll," but it arrived on a brioche bun. These gaffes and a few others (e.g. taking for - ev - er to bring drinks to the table, forgetting to ask questions about the dishes we ordered while we were ordering them, etc) notwithstanding, the food was quite tasty and generously portioned. I bet I'd be willing to bump this up to four stars after they've been open for a bit longer and the servers have had more of a chance to acquaint themselves with the menu. Also FYI, they do not currently offer breakfast - but our server informed me that they hope to start in about a month or so. read more

Only had drinks and appetizers at this place (now named Brodie's) but the nachos were a bit overcooked and the calamari was "average." Service was good. The entertainment was lacking and for a Friday night it was dead as a result. What really hurt this place is they need to deal with the grill ventilation. At around 10pm when kitchen closed they used some awful grill cleaner on the hot grills that overwhelmed the whole dining room with a noxious odor. Eyes were burning and smelled awful and we were almost immediately chased out of there from it to the next bar. Need to focus on the details and get the simple things right. read more

Used to be a great restaurant, but the new management stinks. A year or two ago, we were still going there a couple times a week, but now the food quality has dropped drastically, the prices have risen, and all their best servers have gone to work in other restaurants around the neighborhood, of which there are many. Seaport still has decent music, but my wife and I much prefer In A Pig's Eye for food and excellent live bands, about a block away from Seaport. If we wanna watch the game, we go to Witch's Brew or Old Main Street Pub, also within a block. If you just want delicious seafood, go to Finz forty paces away. In short, we avoid wasting our money at Brodie's. Having lived in Salem 12 years, we've seen so many bars come and go -- I give these guys another year, tops. One sickly star. read more

Went here for lunch today. Food was unmemorable, kitchen was slow, and charging $2 per soda refill (without notification on the menu!) is unacceptable.
