Okay so I popped in last night for a date night snd was seriously blown away by the hospitality , we were greeted and seated right away by Michael he was really nice and showed us to the outdoor patio , which is super cute and then he introduced us to our waiter. This was my first time at this restaurant and Omar made it amazing! We ordered a combination dinner with ravioli, lasagna, and cannelloni Florentine. Everything was fabulous. Had the pleasure of visiting this lil gem tonight! This place has a very old school authentic feel to it, and it did not disappoint! As mentioned in other reviews, Brogino's has a small parking lot. But what was left out, was that there is plenty of street parking surrounding their location. When you enter, you get that feel of stepping into Italy past, and the smell coming from the kitchen is truly amazing. Upon our arrival, we were seated promptly and greeted by our server "Jeanette". She was very knowledgeable about the menu, and made sure to let us know about how large their portions were. We started out the evening with cocktails and garlic bread. I have been a Broginos customer for over 30 years & and the food is excellent, but the service was not too good today. I ordered to go.. A simple antipasto salad and a pint of minestrone soup. When I received my order, I asked if there was any garlic bread ? The waiter said no only on entrees, so I said, "Please add to my order 5 minutes later. He just totally ignored me. maybe he was having a bad day, but wowieee.. 5 mins later, cook or another waiter ask me , "What are you waiting for?..I said a side of garlic toast. So he was kind enough to help me. I just can't believe this one waiter who didn't give a fruck. And it wasn't even busy that day I ordered my simple dish. Spaghetti and meat sauce was included. Appetizers: meatballs. The food was prepared within 15 minutes while soup, salad and garlic bread was served. Food is good and still has the old skool charm from when we first started coming here in the 90s. Love the salad with the tomato vinaigrette dressing. No place in the South Bay makes the dressing. If you love tomatoes, this dressing is sooo good and tangy. The tureen of minestrone soup is ok. Pasta is on the mushy side. I would suggest adding pasta to the bowl of soup prior to serving the soup instead of adding to the soup and letting it keep cooking all day. The broth is still salty like how it was in the 90s. I always added hot water to the soup to tone down the saltiness. That always seems to do the trick. My boys who are adults now said they didn't mind it as the soup taste how they remember it. The pasta dishes are generous portions. Their garlic bread is good and addicting! Careful not to eat too much! It really fills you up! Service is super slow the night we went. We were there for almost 2 hours. A patron came 1/2 hour after us. She was served before than us and was finished waaay before we even got our food. Prices are on the higher side for a pasta dinner compared to Lomeli's in Gardena. The background music is 70s/early 80s, it is well lit compared to how it was before (dimmed light/romantic). Brogino's is a Redondo Beach neighborhood charm. It's one of those restaurants that you have to try once when you reside in North Redondo Beach. This is my favorite Italian restaurant in the South Bay. They have excellent quality food at a reasonable price. You can get the Veal parmigiana dinner which includes bread, soup, salad, Veal parmigiana and spaghetti for $25. The portion is huge and I always bring home food for lunch the next day. I've been here twice and the employees are very friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and quick to clear the plates off the table. Omar was especially awesome! The menu is huge to satisfy any craving you may have. Parking can be tricky but there are a few spots on the side and in the front. Ambiance is nice .Ordered an appetizer , and 2 complete meal pasta of Fettuccine Alfredo and Cannelloni dish that came with minestrone soup and salad. The Service was good but 1.serve garlic bread with the olive oil balsamic vinegar dip. 2. The minestrone is too salty. We didn't finish it. 3. The calamari are long strips served with Marinata sauce. I am so conflicted in writing this review because I know Brogino's is a local institution! My husband and I came in for the first time recently and loved the old school Italian (Chianti bottles hung with faux grapevines) so charming. The smell of good food was great when you came in. Got seated and Jeanette was our server and she gave us excellent care and so friendly! The vibe was nice and buzzy! My husband got lazagna with complete dinner, and I got shrimp with asparagus, mushrooms over linguine. The soup was delicious and lasagna real tasty! My pasta was huge and piping hot ! Leftovers for days. But the sauce was very bland and so watery! I have never had that experience before! And the dish was mainly mushrooms large & small- I LOVE MUSHROOMS but so many. I tried to put red chili flakes and Parmesan cheese but this did not help. I was very sad. Could have been an off nite for this dish, and everything else was great. Honestly, it was such a disappointment coming here. First we had reservations at 6:45, we didn't get seated until 7:15, when we sat down we ordered right away for my grandmother and nephew as my grandmother has medications she needs to take (and we timed it that way), after a while we order our appetizer, the fried mozzarella sticks which were about the only decent thing we had. We ordered our food, and at this point we still haven't recieved my grandmothers or nephews food, we get our food (and to our surprise we still haven't ordered my grandmothers or nephews steak) this was about an hour and a half after we sat down. So they both had the steak, and for my nephew we order it medium rare on the rare side because if it's not pink he won't eat it...we got the steak and cut into it and it was more on the medium well side...my nephew barely ate... I got the carbonara with bow tie...I've eaten a lot of carbonara and I have never received one that was so soupy! It didn't even taste like carbonara... Honestly, it seemed like management was annoyed from before my family got here and our experience wasn't great, our waitress and another employee heard our complaints and nothing was done about (not saying we want a free meal but at least try to make it right on some level) management didn't even come out to talk to us about the situation... I'm not gonna tell people to go or don't go...but I will tell them this...if you go, it's at your own risk...and don't order the carbonara ! read more

Brogino's is a gem of a place in Redondo Beach. Once you walk into the restaurant you're transformed into an intimate place with the vintage signs, classic booth seating, classic photos, and the smell of Italian food. You can tell they use top-quality and fresh ingredients. I learned everything is made in-house and fresh every morning. The House Salad was the perfect starter and the dressing was so unique (tomato-based?) and refreshing. The Meatball Spaghetti was another delicious dish. The meatball was so satisfying and savory, the sauce was hearty, thick, flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfectly and had the ideal bite. I kept dipping the garlic bread into the sauce! Thank you to the generous spirit of Tony for opening up his restaurant and providing food to help our non-profit event fundraiser in the South Bay community. Came here for Valentines Day 2019! I strongly suggest you make reservations for this day and you make them as early as you can. To let you know how long we stayed - We got there at 6:30 PM. We were seated within 10 minutes. It took almost 30 minutes for our waitress to come by to take our drink and dinner order. Both of us got a combo - meaning our meals come with soup and salad. Our soup came out at around 7:30, and our dinner came out around 8:20. We left at about 9, which was too long for my back to be sitting in one of those chairs. I also felt bad for the people still waiting for a table. As far as the food goes, I'll make it fast: - The complimentary bread was really good. We scarfed that down as we were waiting or the rest of our food to come out. The bread was warm and was really good with the balsamic vinegar! - The vegetable soup was a little too salty for me, so I didn't eat a lot of it. - I got this lamb dish, which I thought it came with rice, but it came in a bowl that looked like...soup lol. So I ate the meat (which was really tender by the way!) but really didn't eat the soupy part, or the stuff in the soup. - My husband got the lasagna and some other type of dish. The lasagna was really good and really cheesy, which made it really good! So I recommend getting that! Parking is horrible lol. We just had another meal with our friends at Broginos and as usual it felt like we were dining with family. During the pandemic, this restaurant has always offered the FULL menu and pre pandemic hours of operation unlike many other Southbay restaurants. We love Broginos because of the food and service.
