Fantastic pizza, delicious dishes, handcrafted drinks, and the perfect atmosphere to enjoy dinner together. We'd been once before, but we were in the back for an event - we loved the dishes we tried, so we had it on our list to visit the next time we were in town. Our daughter's friend was performing in a high school musical close by so it worked perfectly to stop by LoZio's beforehand. The service was friendly and the atmosphere made you feel like you were invited into their little community. I had my eyes set on a pizza and beer and both absolutely hit the spot. The pizza crust was just right - a bit bubbly and crispy where needed, and the sauce was different than the norm, but in a very good way. The bruschetta kicked us off and the tiramisu and an espresso finished our meal. Hayley of course had to pose with the Tiramisu as it's her favorite. We finished the evening watching Something Rotten, which was incredible btw, but I have to say there was nothing rotten about LoZio's. Looking forward to our next trip out!

Mozzarella Sticks with Marinara, crispy perfection, especially when dunked in rich, tangy marinara.

My wife has been talking about this spot for a while, one of her friends from Italy has been hyping it up like it's the second coming of Naples, so expectations were properly calibrated. We decided to run it as a Saturday night movie-night takeout play. To their credit, my wife let the person on the phone call an audible and build out a "best of the best" order. Respect. We landed on: Spicy Antonio Pizza - a beautifully blistered crust with that perfect balance of chew and crisp, topped with spicy Italian sausage, chili oil, and just enough heat to wake things up without blowing out your palate. This thing had attitude. Spicy Penne Vodka - creamy, rich vodka sauce with a subtle kick, clinging to perfectly cooked penne. Comfort food with a little edge... exactly what you want on the couch with a good flick. Mozzarella Sticks with Marinara - textbook execution. Golden brown crunch on the outside, molten, stretchy mozzarella on the inside. No shortcuts here--these were dialed in. Bottom line: the food flat-out delivered. Pizza was legit, pasta was strong, and those mozz sticks? Dangerous. Only reason this isn't a full 5-star banger... the total. After tip, we were north of $80 for takeout, which made me do a quick double take. Not a deal-breaker, but worth noting. SMH That said, quality is there, flavors are there, and I get why it's getting buzz. Would I go back? Yeah!!!! "A tavola non si invecchia."

I walked in on a Friday afternoon during lunch hour. The place was completely empty while two young ladies were at the bar handling glasses and utensils. I approached them, made eye contact and they continued working without acknowledging me. I stood by the bar for a minute or two when one of the young ladies asks if I'm there to pickup. I said I was dining in and she told me to pick where to sit. I took a seat and one of the young ladies came by with a menu and some water; she said she'd be back in a moment to take my order. 10 minutes later, she came back to take my order. I felt my wait was excessive as I was the only customer there. Not sure what made the wait so long. Nonetheless, I placed my order and thankfully everything came out in a nice timely manner. I started with the Nonna's meatballs, which were honestly so delicious! I wish it came with even one bit of bread so I could mop up the sauce with. Next, I dug into the Margherita pizza. The pizza too, was outstanding! I like a little kick with my 'za, so I had to get up and find my own red pepper flakes. I didn't see any Parmesan or oregano to add, so I assume they don't offer it. I ended my meal with the cannoli, which were just average. Overall, I think the food is superb but the service is lacking. Next time, I will order take out.

I'm shocked by the high reviews for this place but there are also many lower reviews which make sense... the location of this restaurant is kind of good, near the beach literally across from Veterans Park. There is metered parking outside and the place has lots of seating inside and outside patio. The food is very MEH.... The mozzarella sticks just taste like frozen ones heated up in the oven, Caesar salad was just ok and very overly dressed.... The pomodoro was probably the best thing we ate here but that was also just meh and really didn't need the melted mozzarella on top.... The pizzas were both meh....the margherita was alright and the waitress recommended the ricotta with mushroom one as a best seller but it was so bland and just a mess of mushy ricotta with no taste... The chocolate gelato was decent but the cherry one tasted just like cough medicine... I don't think I'll be going back here...

Food is outstanding!!!!!!!! I have never tasted such a fine food from my dad's friend's restaurant!!! Absolute greatness, and my mom says try the lemonchello! The service is kind and friendly. It is also kinda quick! The ambience is a nostalgic Italian atmosphere along with a setting of any great pizza/pasta place.

I had an amazing dinner at Lozio Osteria in Redondo and I'm already excited to go back! I started with Nonna's meatballs, and wow, these were perfection. Tender, flavorful, and surprisingly light, they had that comforting homemade taste that makes you feel like you're being welcomed into someone's Italian home. Next up was the Ricottina pizza, and it was absolutely outstanding. The mix of mozzarella, DOP Parmesan, ricotta, sausage, and portobello mushrooms, all finished with fresh thyme, created a beautiful balance of rich, savory flavors. Every bite felt thoughtful and elevated without being heavy. To top it all off, the pistachio cake was the perfect dessert ;moist, nutty, and just sweet enough. A perfect finish. One of the highlights of the evening was getting to meet the mastermind behind these dishes, who is from Bari, Italy. You can truly taste the authenticity, passion, and craft in every plate. Lozio Osteria is a gem with exceptional food, warm atmosphere with amazing service and a personal touch that makes the experience unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Walked in right as they were opening. Was greeted by friendly staff and told we were perfect timing because they offer happy hour! We knew nothing of this place, we had been customers of the old restaurant prior to their opening. The space felt familiar and intimate with some changes, but was clean and cozy. Shared a pasta and pizza and was full and happy (the HH wine helped). Will be back to try the homemade meatballs!

We tried the Margherita pizza, chicken wings, and their meatballs. The chicken wings were okay, but the meatballs were really good -- the sauce was great and very flavorful. The Margherita pizza was also good; the sauce really stands out. Service was good as well. We sat at the bar and the staff was really nice. Serving was quick. Highly recommend their gold rush to try.

Cute spot right off the pier. I loved that they have gluten free pasta and pizza options. They had excellent service and the food came out quickly. Seems like a spot locals like to visit which is a good sign. Will be back for sure

Delicious food. Had the Spaghetti Pomodoro...perfect portion size, a dollop of melty stracciatella...yum. Excellent accurate and attentive service. Lovely back area (with a parking lot!) and outdoor seating with umbrellas. Cozy and comfortable. Can't go wrong here. Everything was exceptional! We will be back!!

Spaghetti pomodoro with added meatballs. Really good.

Tried this place the other day for lunch and it was a pleasant experience. I ordered the spaghetti pomodoro and added meatballs. It was delicious. The sauce tasted fresh and flavorful, definitely good quality tomatoes. The lady next to us had the bruschetta and it smelled so good. Definitely will be going back to try everything else. The only thing that was kind of a pain was the parking. They have a tiny parking lot in the back but they share it with another business so there's only like 4 stalls designated for the restaurant. Luckily it wasn't too crowded so we found metered parking nearby. But if it gets busy like in a Friday or Saturday night, might be a nightmare. Other than that, great food and will definitely be going back.

LoZio is located in the same building where Pura Vita used to be. There's metered street parking, which can be inconvenient since they don't have their own lot. We came at a time when they weren't busy, so parking wasn't an issue for us. The front windows & doors were open, so it was breezy inside. We were greeted and told we could sit anywhere we'd like to. We chose to sit near the open windows. When you walk in, the bar is front and center. There are tables surrounding the bar and an outside area with a nice patio set-up. We came on a Sat. at around 12:30 and our server gave us several menus including one for brunch. After checking out the main menu, we decided to start with some Spicy Chicken Wings and put in the order while we decided on which pizza we wanted. We eventually chose and ordered the Spicy Antonio. We know wings take a while and pizza is pretty quick, but we hoped to have time to eat some wings before the pizza arrived. Nope. Both arrived within a few minutes of each other. I was a little disappointed. Pizza gets cold pretty quick, too! The wings were Spicy Italian Buffalo Wings. They were pretty tangy. They were okay, but we probably wouldn't order them again. We enjoyed the celery sticks and carrot sticks which we dipped in the Ranch Dressing. The pizza has a great crust. As for taste overall, the sauce and toppings were scrumptious. This pizza has a hint of honey, but I don't think I really noticed it. We added our own spicy hot honey we brought with us. I think it's a little to thin near the center because when you pick up your slice, it droops pretty sadly. It's better to handle if you fold it in half before taking a bite. I rarely hold a slice of pizza and eat it that way. I use a fork for my bites. As I loaded the tip of the pizza onto the fork, it just drooped. It wasn't at all crisp or sturdy. I couldn't even poke it with the tines. TIP: They offer a Gluten-Free pizza crust for $5 extra. Our server kept telling us how he liked certain items, but the more he talked about the menu, I got the feeling he liked just about everything the restaurant offers! LOL Great for the business!

Cool hangout if you're looking to enjoy some ocean breeze and decently authentic Italian food. We tried the All You Can Meat Pizza, which had fresh, juicy toppings on a thin, crispy crust. It was definitely greasier than pizzas I've had in Italy but still quite good. We really enjoyed the hot veggies with mozzarella and the Peperonata, and the Italian sausage almost had the flavor and goodness of a kebab! It wasn't crowded on a Sunday afternoon, so we got excellent service and a beach-facing table!

I'm guessing since they're coming to a permanent closure, it only makes sense that the quality of the experience (food and service) had began to going down. We were seated immediately, so we were off to a good start. It took a bit of time for Daniel (yep! We got the same server from the last time) to come around and get our orders. It wasn't too bad since the wait gave us the opp to decide on apps and mains, so we got to put all our orders in at once. CALAMARI: Battered thin and crispy. Dash of lemon juice made it better. Quality? Yes. Quantity? Not so much. I thought it was pricey for the amount we got. PEPPERCORN POLPETTINE: Meatballs in cream sauce. Even with the whole peppercorns, the sauce was good. The meatballs, however, didn't taste or look homemade at all. (I recently made frozen meatball soup at home and the meatball's flavor was pretty much similar.) So.. meh... BRUSCHETTA ALLA CHECCA: This was the best app out of the three. Crostini was perfect and the toppings were all perfectly balanced. SPAGHETTI AI NERO DI SEPPIA: Looked great, but lacked flavor. Asked for fresh grated cheese and added black pepper which helped a little, but still missing something... Hubbers got the linguine pesca mare which he loved (he emptied his plate!) So I guess that says a lot. And I'm really glad he liked it, being his birthday and all. He also chose crème brûlée to finish off his birthday treat. (No, they didn't comp it - which is fine, and I don't expect them - or any business - to, even more since they are shutting down. I understand they need all the profit they can get.) Overall a little less stellar than the first visit. I'll admit I was a teenee bit disappointed since we had an amazing experience the first time. All the same, I'm still glad of the experience and wish them well on their future endeavors!

We started with cocktails. I had the Mary Sue ("Pornstar Martini") with vodka, vanilla, passionfruit, salted lime, fino sherry, and champagne foam. YUM. Dangerously good. My husband had the Rob Gentile, an elevated Old Fashioned, and was thoroughly impressed. Service was great, and the food was top-notch. Let's dive in! Meatballs with beef, pork, ricotta, potato purée, tomato sauce, Grana Padano, and arugula--WOW. Cheesy, saucy perfection. Beef Tartare with tonnato, shallot, marjoram, crispy potato, and toast. Delicious and a generous portion. I ordered Coop's Pork Shank with Lambrusco-mustard glaze, aromatic jus, and potato purée. Tender, flavorful, and that broth was incredible. It paired perfectly with the broccolini... ...which we didn't order. We spotted the table next to us enjoying it with burrata and immediately added it to our "next time" list. My son ordered the Chicken Parm with capellini. He loved the huge chicken parm portion, which successfully fed his bottomless teenage appetite, but declared the pasta "too eggy." Teenagers are basically unpaid Michelin critics. My husband ordered the Scarpinocc with braised beef cheek, brown butter, sage, and saba. He loved it, but our resident food critic chimed in with, "I don't really taste the beef." Dessert was the cinnamon bread pudding with ice cream and caramel drizzle--absolutely worth saving room for. Everything was delicious, portions were generous, and we left happy (and full enough to feed a small submarine crew). Definitely coming back!

The right about of cheese and crunchy nuts, but also a super healthy start to what'll come next, haha! Broccolini - wasn't a fan. Spicy and tangy and over really great ricotta. I just think the ricotta would be better with a simple arugula and seasonal fruit with balsamic glaze. Not terrible, just not for me. The scarpinocc was divine! Looks super heavy bc of the butter, but unless you're scooping the butter up with each bite, most of it stays on the plate. Brilliant move to add the sage - really makes it pop! Mushroom lasagna - hubby loved it. It was delicious but a bit too heavy for me. Super cheesy. First bite was awesome. Two more bites and I was done. Oddly, more heavy than the buttery meat dish. Overall, fantastic and we'll be back.

Appetizers: beef carpaccio, calamari. Fresh ingredients, plated with care, well seasoned, sized like the starters they were. Pasta: Seafood Stuffed Ravioli in lobster sauce, Meat Lasagna with béchamel. The fresh pasta in both was exactly right. I ordered a bread basket just to chase the lobster sauce around the plate. The lasagna sent me back to Italy. No dessert this time. There will be a next time. And the three after that. I recommend.

The hostess and the server went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. The food, on the other hand, was a disaster. It felt like they were not prepared to be open on valentine's Day, and they went to Costco to get already prepared meals to sell at a higher price point. The Caesar salad was clearly from a bag, the vegetables were 100% frozen and re cooked, and the meat was as if it had been cut into smaller portions just to make a little bit go a long way. The most disappointing part is that they sell themselves as a mom and pop Italian restaurant... when in reality they are not and owned by a company that runs other franchisees. So, the lot know better... it was just a bust and we will not be returning.

I ordered the truffle mushroom pizza and it was absolutely phenomenal. The crust was perfectly crisp on the outside while still light and airy inside. The truffle flavor was rich without being overpowering, and the mushrooms were fresh and perfectly cooked. Every bite tasted balanced and authentic, like the kind of pizza you hope to find in a small Italian spot that truly cares about the craft. Then came the Nutella calzone, and that alone is worth the visit. Warm, perfectly baked dough with Nutella inside that melts just right. Sweet, indulgent, and honestly one of the best dessert calzones I have ever had. Also the best and most polite service, wonderful people. I have had a lot of pizza around Los Angeles, and this is easily one of the best I have tried. If you are in Redondo Beach and appreciate real quality pizza, this place is a must. Great flavors, great execution, and a spot I will definitely keep coming back to. 10 out of 10. Highly recommend.
