Stopped at Broiler Bay this week and expect many, many repeat visits in the future. I say (with great respect) that this is a classic greasy burger spot, with old school menu on the wall and flames rising from the grill as you watch your burger being charbroiled. Parking is limited and may be tricky at times, but it's a small price to pay for supporting the independent businessman. Burgers come in a variety of styles and sizes (up to triple); I indulged in just the double cheeseburger which tasted like something you'd have at a great cookout in the middle of summer back home (wherever that may be). My only slight suggestion is how great a nice crisp cold slice of white onion would have tasted in place of the diced ones! The fries ($4.99) were so red hot fresh that I had to wait for them to cool down. Oh, and BIG BONUS POINTS for having a giant squirt bottle of Frank's Red Hot at the condiment table. That is really huge. I was so instantly trained to say "with fries" that I totally missed out on what I've heard are stellar onion rings. Next time. Also, and more importantly, I felt incredibly welcomed when I entered thanks to the two guys manning the place at the time. Great spot to order a burger and eat either in the dining area or take it to go and eat in a park or near the water. The burgers and fries (or whatever else you order) are made to order, so it takes a while. Be prepared to wait on a delicious meal. One of my favorite local lunch spots! It's a classic burger, and the single patty Cheeseburger is super filling - although there's a Double Cheeseburger as well if that's more your style! I like to keep it simple with their default lettuce, tomato, onion, and sauce. My spouse is a fan of their Mushroom Swiss Burger; they love the extra flavor. We tend to share one order of fries because they are seriously big! I've heard good things about the onion rings too so it doesn't seem like you can really miss. Affordable prices and a homey feel with gender-neutral bathrooms. Easy to walk to and plenty of parking if you're driving, although the parking lot can be a bit treacherous to navigate. 10/10; the best spot for a quick and filling lunch takeout at any point in the week. read more

Had an great meal at Broiler Bay today, I came in around 12pm today and I was greeted by a kind young man at the cashiers desk who answered all my questions about their menu. The restaurant is surrounded with 90's decorations giving the restaurant an very old school ambiance. I ended up ordering the zucchini fries and patty melt. The patty melt was cooked perfectly, I enjoyed every last bite of it! The zucchini fries complemented my meal perfectly I look forward to ordering them again! I enjoyed my meal here and I will make sure to come back. read more

Good hamburgers. So I am not from the Seattle area and cannot attest to the competition of other burger places in Bellevue or Seattle but their burgers are good. I had the bacon cheese burger and fries. Although not the best burger I have had in all of the states this one does hit the spot. Just know this is a small hole in the wall place with virtually no inside seating. There is outdoor seating right at the edge of the parking lot and it is covered. This place is nothing fancy as others have said. But for the old style burger and fries this is worth it. The staff is very friendly and happy. 10 minutes or less to get your burger. Ordered mushroom, Swiss burger and onion rings. The burger was unboxed from the storeroom freezer and put together with very few mushrooms. These are essentially short order frozen burgers on what were likely Costco buns. The onion rings were inedible. The amount of grease on the onions rings and their bag was pretty terrible. We have a reservation at John Howie Steaks. We watched a Youtube video about his favorite places to eat. This was the burger place he picked. A solid burger and great onion rings at a low key spot in Downtown Bellevue. In my opinion, it's closer to 4.5 stars because of the incredible value and portions for the price. Got the grilled onion cheese burger and mushroom Swiss burger and an order of onion rings. Grilled onion burger was our fave and the onion rings were crispy, a little greasy (but who doesn't like that), and perfectly seasoned. I've had the fries before and they are of the thicker variety, which isn't my preference but they're not bad. Two burgers and an onion rings was $21 before tip, which is a great price point in Downtown. Love this place! read more

Oops, I've been going to this joint for two years now and I've been meaning to write a review but I kept forgetting. These burgers are pretty solid. This used to be my bf's and my favorite burger joint, but I guess after having it for two years, it's lost a bit of its magic. But we still go often since it's nearby. The people are really nice. My bf usually gets either the bacon cheeseburger or the philly-- they're both solid. i got the chicken sandwich for a good bit and then got bored of it and moved over to the chicken tenders, and those are usually pretty good (though they automatically give you free ranch with it, and i don't really think that makes a good combo, but i guess it's a personal preference). sometimes they don't have the milkshake you want, so just be wary of that the biggest thing though is that the people are really nice and cool. i'm glad this place is closeby read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE today by a White Male mid to late 20's at 1:25pm. Wife and I with our daughter asleep in the back seat pull into an EMPTY parking lot. We had called for 15 minutes on the way in but the phone line was busy as we normally order for pick up. My Wife parked perpendicular over two spots with the car running. She drives a 2020 Aviator and would NOT fit in the small spots. I was going to order and pay then we would drive around as our order was made. Anyone with a Toddler knows to keep them asleep you need to keep driving. I walk in, greet the guy and he says "what are you doing???" I truly was confused by the question and asked "What?" He then pointed at our car and yells you need to move your car, I explained why and he put his hand up and said he wasn't going to let me order until I did. I again stated my case, he then put his hand up with a pushing motion. This was unbelievably horrid customer service at a truly awesome place. Cue Broiler Bay. No gimmicks - no frills - just solid burgers and classic milkshakes or sodas with a selection of fried sides (onion rings, mozzarella sticks, fries). And the best part? you can have a whole meal for under $15 and the burgers will fill you up! I've driven by here hundreds of times over the years as I've heard they've been around for a few decades - so I figured one day - they must be doing something right - so glad I gave them a shot! Easily one of my favorite burger shops due to it's classic/simple flavors and preparation. I've had the bacon burger, cheese, mushroom, double patties and classic and it's got that good char (non charbroiled - cooked on a flat top) but solid smashburger type flavors and textures. The best value in Bellevue! Broiler Bay has one of the best burgers on the Eastside. Even though I'm kind of comparing apples to oranges, this burger is pretty much on the same level as the Happy Hour Burger at John Howie Steakhouse, but without all the pretentiousness. One is an All-American burger and the other is a Steakhouse burger. Both great in their own right. Tucked in the corner of a mini mall, this place is the epitome of a burger shack but I'm ok with that. As you walk in, you can smell the grease from fryer and the hot grill. I'll usually order the Bacon Cheeseburger or the Mushroom Burger. Both are fantastic choices. There's also a Pastrami Burger that I've been meaning to try as well. For me, I think the Sesame Seed bun is what makes the burger. When you take a bite into the burger, that bun is so dense and soft, it doesn't succumb to the burger juices and holds the structure of the burger in tact. I just had it when the bun is all soggy due to all the moisture and the tomatoes and onions squeeze out with every bite. And those onion rings and fries! They're both so good, I always have a hard time choosing between the two. The onion rings are perfectly battered, while the fries have a perfect crispness to softness ratio. I could eat a whole tray of both. If you're in the Bellevue area and looking for a quick lunch, go to Broiler Bay for a quick meal. My girlfriend ordered the "Big Bay" and it lives by the name! It's basically a Big Mac on steroids! Flavorful juicy thick patties with 3 bun action going, shall I say more? We also ordered fries and a shake. Fries were fresh and hot but I wish they were a bit crunchier but I'm pretty sure you can request it since it was my first time I just played it safe and enjoyed the process. The MILKSHAKE is awesomely delicious! We tried the pineapple shake and it had chunks of pineapple and the milkshake was thick and creamy just perfect. I also got a side of french fries, onion rings and a vanilla shake. All were delicious and their side portions are GREAT for the price you pay! Most burgers are between $6 and $8 and they will definitely you up. They also have a wide variety of sauces: fry sauce, tartar and ketchup are pictured below. This is a favorite of my family's to stop in and grab a quick meal when in Bellevue. The menu is burgers and a few sandwiches, and this is greasy food so beware! BUT the greasy food is always delicious (get the frings (half onion rings and half fries) and pair it with a burger and you're set. I always get the "jr meal" which is affordable and also features the perfect amount of food for a smaller portion. This place is family owned and has been in Bellevue for a long time.
