The menu in the Moab food guide didn't have prices, so to me that meant it was expensive (which I expect in a tourist town). She gave us great recommendations and was at our table at all the right times to refill water, check on our food, and bring the check quickly to help us get out the door and get to Arches at dusk. My outlaw pork chop was delicious. The garlic potatoes were seasoned perfectly as was the perfectly cooked asparagus. My son had the ribeye with onions and mushrooms and loved it. Not many options in December in Moab. Its a little overpriced in my opinion, but guess ya gotta make up for lack of Winter tourism and small population. Ordered a burger, I think it was the Fiery Furnace but I dont remember, the spicy sauce was good tho. The bun was good and unique, but it was just a cheese burger in the end, nothing spectacular. And they sell ya on the sweet potato fries but they taste like everywhere else. The ambience is kinda cool. They decorated for Christmas so brownie points there. Service is okay; be prepared for inattentive waitstaff and waiting for basics like ketchup and mustard for a long time (it isn't brought before or with the meal, everyone had to ask). Food is horrible. This was by far the worst meal we had in Moab. The burgers are gross (the meat was a weird flavor and texture, they were severely overcooked). The Broken Oar has an interior reminiscent of cabins probably more suited to Jackson Hole than in Moab. An opinion that doesn't at all detract from how beautifully decorated and classic it felt to eat at this establishment. Classic, not classy. It's thematically a frontiersman's rest that boast large chilled drinks, meaty sandwiches, and a large steak/ seafood menu. We were seated on the second floor, up past a wide staircase. Our waitress was very attentive to our needs and also allowed us to provide instructions for special accommodations. My companion and I had sandwiches that were loaded with meats and was very filling. Did I mention their chilled drinks are massive? Their spicy cucumber lemonade is a must-try. Very unique and an ultimate thirst quencher. If I'm coming through Moab in the future, this restaurant is on my short list! read more

TLDR: Super friendly waiter! Delicious food! The place looks like a TGI Friday's reject. We were sat upstairs, and was immediately greeted by a very warm, very friendly waiter. We were a bit early, as we just finished an exhausting day at Arches. So I got the St Louis Ribs. The menu said they were "Fall off the bone" juicy. Mine weren't. But they STILL were very tender and juicy. But I couldn't just slide my fork across them and get all the meat off. I also really like their BBQ sauce... a little vinegary and a LOT sugary... with no heat. JUST HOW I LIKE IT! I also like the mac-n-cheese. Man... UT really has their mac-n-cheese game going! Their macaroni was also al-dente, just a bit of chew, which gives a nice texture to the side. I was never a fan of potato salad, but theirs was decent. At least they don't put celery in theirs... Yuck! -.-" My wife ordered the lovely honey-siracha salmon. She was worried at first, it would be spicy, cause y'know... siracha. But thankfully it wasn't that hot at all. The fish was very tender, and the sauce actually complemented it very well. It was a great dish! We also ordered some nachos and salsa as an app (Remember we hiked ALL day in Arches. My fitbit said we walked SEVEN MILES! SEVEN MILES! And that's not even counting the hills. Ohhhh the hilllllsss!). We really liked the nachos. They definitely tasted home-made. We even brought them with us so we could snack on them during the cold TV-less night under our glamping tent. The only downside was the mousse. I don't know when they changed the definition of mousse. Maybe I didn't notice the "mousse" revolution? When I hear mousse, I picture "light, airy pudding". This is the second time we ordered mousse, and it came like this thick fudge mess... It wasn't that pleasant. Even my wife, the huge chocoholic, could barely eat 3 or 4 bites. We mushed a bit of it around, to make it look more eaten than it was. Now, our waiter... was super dope! He was very friendly throughout the whole meal. In the middle of the meal, I decided to add an ice-cold Coke zero, because, ARCHES! When the bill came, I noticed he didn't charge us for it. After a bit of discussion with my more-honest partner, I let him know that he forgot to add the coke. He said, "Forget about it! Good Karma will come back to you" Aww isn't that nice??? Good Karma did come back to him, because we tipped him an extra $5 (to partly compensate for the drink AND for his nice demeanor). If you ever visit Moab (whether to ski or ARCHES), then you HAVE to come to this place. I'm not sure if the waiter will still be there, but his name was Mikey. We loved this restaurant! Vinny was the best server, very friendly and accommodating! I had the breaded chicken sandwich and fries, my husband had the brisket and sweet potato fries. All was excellent! The ambiance and decor is great. Only downfall of this place is that it is often very crowded with a long wait for a table but we went midweek and were able to get right in. I asked for a side order and for $3.50 got two little pieces of bread not much bigger than a ritz cracker sprinkled with cold Parmesan cheese. Garlic toast shouldn't be that hard. My mom and I walked in on a Monday night. We waited about 30 minutes. The food was worth the wait. I got the Miners cabin burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was exactly what I wanted after hiking at Arches National Park all day. The sweet potato fries have cinnamon sugar, salt, caramel, and lemon zest on them, making it really tasty! My mom got a sirloin steak and it comes with asparagus and potato but she substituted for onion rings. I tried some of my mom's steak and didn't think it was anything too special. read more
