Employees are given too many jobs and none of them get done well. Server is expected to wait on a dozen tables; do hosting and seating; take payments at the register. Busser doesn't notice empty coffee cups. Food runners bring out 40% of the food correctly. Meanwhile; manager walks around handing out cards for free waffles to make up for the poor service. Service is always friendly. Pancake and French toast offerings are unique , super sweet, and pretty tasty! Short stacks are plenty IMO. I usually get an omelette, family gets cinna stack pancakes combo. Giant portions - we always go home with enough food for tomorrow. Kid really likes the smoothies but to me they're a bit too pricey to get every time. Plan on spending a little less than 20 per person. Smoothies are half the price of a meal which is why we only get them occasionally. read more

We were greeted by the hostess Danielle. 2/3 of our party went to the location in Oceanside where they had a 25 minute wait. We were seated and given coffee and plenty of time for our party to reunite with us. The food was amazing! Shout out to Gloria Adriana. and Oscar. The menu is expensive and varied. All six of us were able to find something really good, and this included two children. Our granddaughter really likedthe chicken and waffles! The Lavazza coffee is the best. This was such an incredible experience. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with such a warm hello, checked in, and sat right away... even though it was busy! Well... here we go. The good? The hostess was actually really nice--friendly, polite, and let me sit wherever I wanted. I picked a spot near the door so I could eat and leave quickly. She even checked on me while I was waiting and brought my drink without any issue. The salad? Honestly, really good. I asked for extra feta (and didn't mind paying for it), and they didn't disappoint. No complaints about the food. Now the not-so-great part... The service was slow. Like... noticeably slow. I sat there waiting long enough to start debating if I should just pay for my drink and go somewhere else. Eventually the server showed up, I ordered, and yeah--the food was good, but the wait kind of killed the vibe. What really didn't sit right with me was waiting forever just to get my check. Someone who came in after me got theirs first, and I'm just sitting there like... I have to get to work. Then when I finally get my bill, the server tells me I can go pay at the counter--as if I didn't already know how that works. Overall, the food was good, but the experience? Just... meh. It's SUCH a nice feeling knowing I can show up when the restaurant opens (so early!) and immediately get excellent service from every employee! I have to shout out Carlos specifically- he's consistently gone above and beyond with his service- he's certainly a reason I have come back multiple times. Was in the area on a trip with my sister. We wanted breakfast. Joined the virtual waitlist on Yelp and only had to wait about 15 minutes for a table on a Saturday. Service was quick and coffee was good. They had a vegan egg scramble which made my day. They used Just Egg, Beyond Sausage, and spinach and mushrooms. Served over sliced potatoes. So so so delicious, I wish every restaurant would understand that you can make good vegan food. I asked them to leave out the bell peppers (don't like them) and the avocado (allergy), and it was not an issue. My sister wasn't feeling well and just wanted plain scrambled eggs and plain white toast, and they were able to accommodate that as well without making us feel like we were too much trouble. My boyfriend and I went here for brunch after a workout. The food is great but the drinks were magnificent. Our server Carlos went above and beyond and made our drinks not only tasty but also very appealing. I got a Bloody Mary flight and my boyfriend got a mimosa flight. It made our experience more fun. Good food, great service and my family went during busy brunch time on a Sunday and we were seated pretty quickly. Food was super yummy, ordered chilaquiles, pancakes and a mimosa..... all were delicious and my daughter's steak and eggs were equally as yummy. My mom loves Broken Yolk in La Costa. It's her go-to spot and she's there at least once a week, so of course we went for her birthday today. Everything was fine until we tried to do something small but meaningful. A candle for her birthday. Nothing fancy. We asked quietly so it would be a surprise. Instead, someone came to the table and said, "Sorry, we don't have desserts in the morning to put a candle in." Like... what? It's not about the dessert. It's a candle. Stick it in a pancake. A muffin. Literally anything. Or just bring it out. Don't announce the whole thing and kill the vibe. They missed the point and made it awkward. My mom didn't say anything, but I could tell she was disappointed. The food is still fine and she'll probably keep going, but they need to be better about simple moments like this. I've been to many locations and this one is by far in the top few. I was at the location in Gaslamp recently and it was not as good. They didn't even have fresh brewed tea. This location: I was greeted immediately when walking in. Very friendly staff. After being seated, I had two different servers ask for a drink preference. After ordering my meal, it was delivered in a timely manner. The server and busser were very attentive in cleaning trash from my table and refilling my Fresh Brewed tea! The omelette I ordered was the same item ordered at the other location I spoke of prior. What a difference in presentation and quality. This was so much better! Also, my English muffin was perfectly toasted. It wasn't rubbery like most places serve. A nice crunch is expected! Also, the potatoes were nicely browned and good. The quality of food was awesome! They got slammed right after we walked in for weekend brunch but still got our orders in and served quickly. I ordered the wellness wrap and my husband ordered the rancher omelet. Both came out hot, fresh and with the correct modifications. Servers were super friendly and welcoming. When we would look around for her to get her attention she was too busy being flirtatious at the bar with the elderly gentlemen or being engaged in an unprofessional personal story by her co worker (a tall gentleman with black hair and eyeliner) who was loudly over sharing his personal intimate life -something we didn't need to hear. I've been to Broken Yolk in Colorado and the food stays similar across different locations. I got the Sope Benedict, my friend got the Mom omelet. We also got the Mimosa flight and because I have to, the Matcha Green Tea Latte. The latte was delicious and I will keep ordering it until they stop serving it :) sweet with the perfect balance of the matcha flavor. The Benedict was ok. It needed more kick. The picture looks more appetizing than it tasted. The hash browns were ok. My friend liked the omelet. The portions were pretty big so this served as lunch and dinner for me. Out of the mimosas, I had the lemon and the orange which I loved. They were definitely stronger on the champagne which I always appreciate in a mimosa. Our server was very nice and pleasant. I was in the area for a work function and decided to stop in for a quick lunch break... everything seemed fine until a month later I noticed they charged my card twice! yes twice. When I called to dispute with them directly so I would have to deal with the headache of getting a new card they never picked up the phone. This is terrible way of doing business.
