Went on a weekday morning. Was not very crowded. Comfortable spacious interior. Excellent and fast service. Food came out very quickly. Would highly recommend. I tried: The Mom Omelette: very healthy, heavy on vegetables, no cheese. Not as delicious as an omelette that includes cheese - I'll definitely get something with cheese next time. Green Tea Matcha Latte: delicious but a bit on the sweet side. Almost like drinking green tea ice cream (yummy). Hearty green tea and matcha flavor. I will order it less sweet next time.

Our favorite place to come for Sunday brunch after church when visiting my in-laws. Daphne was our waitstaff today and she was brilliant--vibrantly friendly, generously efficient (refilling our coffee when our cups were half full), and all-around so cheerfully hardworking. I enjoyed my feta avocado toast with arugula and balsamic drizzle (4.5/5). My husband's Ranchero skillet had scalloped potatoes, eggs and chorizo was flavorful (5/5). Amongst the other customers today were what looked like a sleepover of 8th grade girls in their pajamas and lots of couples and families enjoying a satisfying brunch.

I grew up in La Jolla and would go to the original Broken Yolk location down in Pacific Beach often. I loved it then and still love it now. Every time I come to Broken Yolk I always get a great meal and service is always lightning fast. This Del Mar location is probably my favorite of all of them because there is a large free parking lot directly in front that is never too crowded and the servers are always very friendly here. It can get quite crowded some mornings, but usually it's not as bad as some other places around town. The food is consistently good and the menu is very large so it's a great option for breakfast on any occasion. Inside is quite large and can host many different sized groups from small to large. For this breakfast, I chose a Build Your Own Omelette and added the hollandaise on top which I highly recommend. This place is consistently great and I would confidently recommend it to anyone.

This is my fav Broken Yolk location. The staff is so friendly and food comes out fast. I love the corned beef , 2 egg plate with the home fries and sourdough. Had a bite of my husbands egg sandwich and it was yummy. My mom got the no name, very yummy also. My husband got a complimentary churro French toast for his bday, so delicious! :)

Daphne was a great server! We were seated right away on Sunday for lunch. I got the salmon egg Benedict and classic egg benedict which were a 3.5/5. My boyfriend got the Mom omelette which was 4/5. It was just enough food for the both of us.

Someone once gave me a gift card for a Broken Yolk Cafe, which I've never actually been to a location before. When heading recently to San Diego with my wife, I finally got an opportunity to go there for breakfast/brunch one day. We went to the Del Mar location and had some delicious food, good service, and enjoyed a nice ambiance for brunch. My wife ordered an omelete with potatoes and a blueberry muffin. I ordered a "two eggs plus" with cheesy scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, and a blueberry muffin. We then redeemed my birthday coupon for a free short stack of Cinna-Cakes, which my wife and I shared. We both saved our muffins for later, though between the Cinna-Cakes, the fruit, potatoes, and eggs, we had plenty to enjoy. Everything was tasty, and the portions were generous. We were able to sit down almost immediately upon arrival as we joined the waitlist through the app/website when we were en route to the restaurant. You can also order online at the website (https://www.thebrokenyolkcafe.com) as well as see the menu, learn about catering and how to franchise your own location, and learn about the background of the Broken Yolk Cafe. While they have a location in Arizona, they actually first opened in 1979 in San Diego. They have been featured on Man vs Food and now have 40 locations with 10 more in development. Join the Rewards Club by going to https://www.thebrokenyolkcafe.com/rewards. You can register online and receive a special bonus of a free short stack of pancakes when you register. You then earn points for every dollar spent which can be redeemed for free food. Then, for your birthday, you get a free short stack of Cinna-Cakes, Belgian Waffle, or Churro French Toast. There are also many specials including Mega-Mosa for $7 and 20% off BLTs during National BLT Day. I can certainly use some more Cinna-Cakes again soon!

Broken Yolk Cafe in Del Mar is a charming and cozy spot for brunch, and the overall vibe was pleasant. I decided to try the mimosa sampler, which sounded like a fun touch to my meal. Unfortunately, one of the drinks was served to me in a broken glass, which was really disappointing and, honestly, a bit unsafe. What added to the letdown was seeing another table receive the same sampler, beautifully decorated with fresh fruit and a much nicer presentation--something I wish I had received too. That said, the staff was friendly, and the food itself was decent, so I might give it another try in the future. Just hoping for a more consistent experience next time--especially when it comes to something as simple (and potentially hazardous) as glassware.

Stopped by for breakfast and enjoyed the clean atmosphere. Like many other places, they have a shared lot and parking was not a problem. Food quality was average and portion sizes were good. Soy matcha - I appreciate how our waitress made sure I did not have any dairy allergies Salmon avo toast- large portion but for the price, it's about right. Bread was fine but avo did not taste fresh and tasted more like frozen pre packaged avo. Kids pancake with double bacon- Good sized portion with crispy bacon Kids oatmeal with everything on the side- Tends to be more runny if you prefer this texture. Plenty of strawberries and blueberries given Kids chicken strips with fries and bacon- 2 pieces of chicken and fries were cooked perfectly (crispy but not overdone) Salmon benedict- taste was fine but nothing extraordinary. Service was good but food quality was just ok.

I'd give Broken Yolk a 3.5 out of 5. I had the Chicken and Waffles Benedict. The taste was solid. The chicken was well seasoned, and the hollandaise sauce was decent. But the portion was small, especially for the price. I was left still hungry, which isn't ideal for brunch. Others in our group ordered skillet dishes. The portion sizes on those looked better, but they weren't actually served in skillets. That felt a little misleading. One person had the country fried steak and said it was a bit dry. The service was where things really fell short. Our waters and coffee cups were left empty for long stretches, and it felt like the servers weren't really checking in. The place itself is clean and has a typical brunch vibe. It's a nice atmosphere, just not very memorable. Overall, not a bad spot, but not great either. Some good flavors, but the small portions and lackluster service keep it in the middle range for me.

Yummy food, great service, clean and chill environment! Would definitely come again. We ordered the vegan spicy bowl (definitely spicy!!!) and the hash skillet. My mom really enjoyed her meal and I enjoyed mine! Very filling

Anytime we heading from LA to SD, we stop at this specific Broken Yolk location for breakfast! The vibe is great, the food is amazing, and the service is always excellent and fast thanks to our waitress Kelly. You can tell she cares about providing her customers the best and friendliest service. Will always be coming back here! Highly recommend the breakfast burger, cali breakfast burrito, & Cinnacakes!

Not busy on Sundays before 11:30am. It does get packed minutes before noon though. There's lots of seating inside, outside, and at the bar, so you shouldn't have any problems getting seated within a few minutes. Always a delicious choice for brunch.

We don't have a happy hour but right now our mimosa special is $5 mimosa and $7 mimosa flight.

I sat there patiently, and the female employee came to the register to take my order after a while. I ordered my burrito... we had a choice of bacon or chorizo at the included price. Carne assda was three dollars extra or if I wanted all three meats it was five dollars extra. I probably should've not done this, but I paid for all three. I walked around while I waited. After seeing everything in the entire place, I took a seat near the Pick-up counter. While I was waiting there, the guy who was cooking was complaining about so many things. The one thing that really was upsetting is he said something along the lines of "people have to wait for their food anyways." this guy is angry and bitter, and does not like his job. The wait was oddly long I was tempted to ask them to cancel my order but I waited. The Third employee handing me my food with a smile in a box no bag no napkins no nothing. I guess those were self served, but would've been nice if he had said something because I got home and didn't have napkins or anything. The icing on the cake is paid for three meat definitely there's no bacon in here and I think I found one piece of Carne Asada so I paid five dollars extra basically for a chorizo burrito . There's hardly anything inside of it. I taste more tortilla than the inside. This was the most disappointing burrito. I think I've ever had in my life. I should've gone to the taco shop and gotten a much better burrito. Shame on you, Ranch 45. I don't have the energy to call you or go back and why waste my time and money coming back to complain. Our last visit also took a ridiculous amount of time for one pastrami sandwich. I was waiting in the car while my husband went in. Sad to say I doubt I'll be back here ever again. Step up your Customer Service step up the execution of your beef. Stellar quality meat is not enough. You need to execute and have staff that isn't complaining with an earshot of the customers.

This one is right near the Del Mar racetrack down the street. It's in a shopping mall and it's sort of hidden. Our waitress made a mistake and put in the wrong omelet for us, so ended up with the Santa Fe, which was...OK. I guess they bake it, so it tasted a bit dry and it definitely needed more seasoning. The hash browns had the same problem. Our daughter got the chocolate chip pancakes and she loved them, but we found them to be pretty average. Their showcase dish--the baked apple pancake--was definitely spectacular when it came out on the plate, but the actual eating experience was only so-so. The crispier parts on the outside were really good if you ate them with some maple syrup, but the rest was a bit mushy and the whole thing was shockingly sweet. We had a very pleasant morning here, the staff is nice, and apparently the business is family owned, so we wish them well. But today I needed a little extra je ne sais quoi because my morning was annoying, so I decided to splurge on lunch and not just a pastry here. I asked Steve, the (très beau et gentille!) co-owner what the quiche of the day was. There were two: one with jambon (ham) and one with épinards et fromage de chèvre (spinach and goat cheese). When I hesitated, he told me that the spinach one was amazing. Even though it's $20 for a quiche plate, I decided to go for it. I thought I was going to get a sad little quiche slice for that amount and might regret it. But OMG, it was more than worth it! Already they have a lovely patio on this pretty street in this fancy design district. But it was also a HUGE and exceptionally savory rectangular slice, alongside a DELECTEABLE petite salade. I asked Steve what mustard they use in the vinaigrette, and he said plain old Dijon - but the proportions and the seasoning were EXCELLENT. So it was salad perfection, not heavily dressed at all, just delightful. The patio was full on a Friday with ladies who lunch - but did that include me, as a solo diner, since I am a lady who had lunch? I'm not sure, but you can feel comfortable here no matter what. And now I know Madeleine Cafe is much too good to just come for coffee and for ordering in French from Steve or his co-owner Emmanuel. I don't want to spend that much for lunch every day - but I'll be back!
