Absolutely the best breakfast restaurant I have been to in a long while! My husband took me there last Sunday for a pre-superbowl meal, and we are definitely coming back. The building was very nice and modern, the staff extremely friendly and helpful, but not so much so that it is bothersome. The food was just delicious, way better than any breakfast place in hillcrest and worth the drive from the other broken yolk cafe's in the area. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone who is looking for a nice breakfast place to eat. Great parking and location. I was surprised when I walked in at how large the building really is. Tons of servers and other employees to lend a helping hand. No wait during peak time on Sunday which was awesome because I was starving. I just didn't like their potatoes...I think they should stick to classic cubed or hashbrowns. 3 star... 1/2 good 1/2 bad right? I've eaten there twice with my husband. Both times I've enjoyed my food, both times he did not. He said it is plain, bland and nothing to go back to.... Except for the fruit because both times we had delicious watermelon and pineapple. Both times he had eggs of some sort, he is nutty for eggs and spice and beans. I had the mom's omelet and subbed broccoli for mushrooms. It was huge! And tasty. The other time I had a sandwich and it was delicious as well. I guess I liked mine because they were vegetablely and fresh veggies are usually kinda plain and that's good with me. read more

Excellent service! Restaurant wasn't busy early morning on a weekday. Golden state Benedict breakfast was delicious. I loved the atmosphere. Very relaxed and clean environment. Highly recommend it! Like I said I went on a weekday so it wasn't crowded at all and service was exceptional. We all know business during weekends vary. Can't wait to visit again... Two thumbs up. read more

Had pre Father's Day brunch ... Our server was amazing the staff was amazing but 4.95 for a fruit cup that has 5 pieces of fruit ... Come one that was super crazy...the food was also just average I wasn't impressed my waffle was dry and no one in the group was amazed with what they had read more

I love this place. I took the ironman challenge but I did not make it, but the food was delicious and I had a great time. I am glad this here I fully intend to return. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable and the people that work there are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend a broken yolk cafe. I think you'll have a great time With great food. They only serve breakfast and lunch. But that's ok, it doesn't sound like they serve dinner anyway just by the name. read more

First time here tho we've dined at their other locations. The food here was plentiful and better than I remembered. I had the chicken fried steak with country fries, eggs and blueberry muffin. The steak was nice and crispy, tho the gravy could have been more viscous....it was just a lumpy goo. The potatoes were excellent, plentiful and crispy. Blueberry muffin was great to take home as there was already plenty to eat. My bf had the turkey club and it was stacked high. The fries were nice and crispy. The food is really good. I was surprised that I only waited 10 minutes with no reservation or call ahead. I had three BBQ beef tacos and my fried had chicken and waffles, she loved them. The only one thing was that the waiter took forever to take our order, another server gave us our food and our waiter never came back other than to give us our bill. I would have 5 stared otherwise.
