Breakfast was sooo disappointing--always thought blueberry pancakes were pancakes with blueberries IN them, NOT some thrown on top of a plain pancake. Omelet was way overcooked and the "home fries" were mostly "non-fried" slices of potato. The ones that were "fried" had a bitter inedible off flavor--like the cooking medium was rancid or someone didn't clean the grill. The server, however, was excellent, and the restaurant nicely decorated and very clean. Sadly, not enough here to bring us back, but do hope they were just having a bad day. read more

Gave the Broken Yolk another chance, but every time the service hasn't been good. This last time we were there I ordered a mocha, and everybody else's drinks came and were told the mocha was coming. No big deal, several minutes later the food came and we asked about the mocha, our waiter told us those types of coffees are made at the bar and then he just walked off. We're half way through our meal and we have to flag down our waiter and ask about the mocha, he says he'll go check on it and then never came back to our table. We saw him walking around the dining room but he never walked past our table again. When we were done it was actually one of the people bussing tables that gave us our check and processed the payment. We were all polite and didn't complain about anything, just asked about a coffee we ordered so not sure what was going on. The waiter looked to be in his late forties, had glasses and short, salt and pepper hair. Have no idea what the issue was but we saw him checking on other tables and bringing them their orders. Other times we've been to this Broken Yolk and another location and service is always lacking and the food quality seems to be going down =( read more

Just had my absolute worst dining experience I've had in a very long time. Showed up at about 10:00am for breakfast on Wednesday. The server promptly arrived, took our order and brought our drinks. It would be the last time we saw him for quite a while. My wife ordered french toast with a side of scrambled eggs and I ordered 3 eggs and a side of French toast. The meals were taking a very long time. After what seemed like a half hour our food arrived and it was cold. Our server never came back to check on us so I asked the hostess to track him down and send him over. He showed up a while later and took our food back to the kitchen to be remade. A while later I heard the table next to us complaining to another server about how long it took to get their bill and our server never came back to collect their money and if he didn't cash them out they were going to walk out. About that time the manager came over to them and was resolving their issue. I quipped that we were still waiting for our food. The manager went back to the kitchen and came back and said our food was in the process of being remade and it would be out any minute. He said he would comp our meal which would have been great if the food was actually delivered. After about 15 minutes we just got up and left. Absolutely the worst dining experience I think I have ever had. Telling us our food was comped and being remade only to have it never come out was a new one on us.
