Had a very bad experience today, my eggs were ordered over medium, they were served raw, the whites were clear and raw. I asked for new eggs, they never brought them so I told them forget it, when we got the bill they didn't take my breakfast off after serving me raw eggs and an over cooked steak yeah not happy!! THEN when I asked if they could please take my eggs off the check he said he did I said no you didn't, he showed me a receipt for $4.95 that they were actually going to charge me for recooking my raw eggs hahahaha you can't make this up, so he felt he saved me $5 for eggs they messed up boy that's really generous!! My hash browns were cold my toast was cold just bad all the way around service was awful, manager was awful short Hispanic man like no one knew how to fix raw eggs? Wild to me!! This is the first restaurant I ate at with my buddy when visiting him in California. It was Thanksgiving Day and we had a hard time, of course, finding something that was open. We were actually both impressed with the food quality here. The interior is clean and we didn't need to wait long for a table. We were actually seated immediately. I remember ordering steak & eggs. The quality of steak wasn't bad. It sufficed for diner quality food. I also ordered hash browns on the side. I liked the local hot sauces that were on our table. It's great when a restaurant features local products. Also, this restaurant sits right on a major roadway or highway in Oceanside. It's not hard to miss. It's in a strip mall shopping plaza. Our waitress was personable and accommodating. Total bill was reasonable as well. I would eat here again. Not a bad place for quality diner food. I tried to sympathize bc I get it your favorite team is playing, but when you're barely acknowledging me while taking my order? Like that's a little annoying and disrespectful. When the food came, there was a stack of receipts at the bottom of my plate underneath all my food that I would've accidentally eaten if I haven't decided to move around my hash browns first. I wasn't going to make a big deal about it as I was hungry and still excited for the food as I ordered my usual favorite thing on the menu. I've worked in the food industry myself before so I try to sympathize when I'm at a place during busy hours. We went to breakfast this morning after having not been here for over a year. The meal was awful and the service was too slow. The meal was drowning in so much butter and oil that it was unappetizing. I noticed the portions were significantly less than the last time I had been there. I had to get up and ask someone for the check and there were no apologies for having seemingly forgotten guests. The meal was $50 and definitely not worth it since it was Denny's level food. Yuck. This is your typical American brunch spot that has a huge menu. There's also a bunch of seating too and Yelp allows you to put your name on the waitlist so I would definitely take advantage of that. I got the ranchero skillet and thought it was average. The dish felt a little disjointed and lacked seasoning. I appreciated how it came with fresh slices of avocado but it could've came with more ranchero sauce. Maybe I should've used a little more Tabasco. I've only gone on weekends but every time I go, they always seem much busier than they can handle every time I've been there.. it takes some time to be seen by a server (average 20+ minutes) once you're seated and you don't see them much after once you order as the kitchen staff bring out your food. Some of the staff have looked visibly frazzled on many of my visits... :( Anyway, the food is pretty good- all the omelets and Benedict's and skillets I've tried have been good! I do not recommend the kids meals as the Mickey Mouse pancake is ginormous and of no real nutritional value. The scrambled eggs are just sad with no seasoning- I would just order something else on the menu to share with them next time. I had the pick 2 Benedict - sopas and Golden State. Both were good but the sopas was exceptional! The ranchero sauce is amazing and not spicy at all! I'm a baby about spice. I had them take the siracha off the Golden State but would recommend leaving on. My husband had the machaca - scrambled eggs with peppers, onions, and shredded beef. Tortillas and pico on the side to make breakfast tacos. All were served with a side of potatoes (home fries or hash browns) or beans (refried or black) the machaca also came with rice.
