But today was different as our server, Christina, was exceptional and all the food and drink we enjoyed was very good as well. We received a gift certificate for the broken yolk so we decided to try it. The service has been good. That's the only reason why there is more that one star. There is no real cream for the coffee or whole milk so if you don't eat food with chemicals in it, I would suggest not coming here. My kids got menus with color by numbers on it but the whole restaurant only has yellow crayons. Yellow?? Food... Not good. Crepes were cold. My kid liked it though. It just really wasn't good. Broken yolk is pretty good. Just so expensive for what you get. I always leave spending 50+$ on breakfast and that seems a bit obscured. On a lighter note the apple juice is the best apple juice in the world and the eggs Benedict is fire. Came to try out a brunch/breakfast spot with my girlfriend around 1pm. Food (4/5). I ordered the Hash Skillet. The potatoes and onions were great. I could barely finish the food it was so filling. The only downside was the taste of the meat wasn't't there. My girlfriend got the Golden State Eggs Benedict. She enjoyed her meal but wished the bacon was actually cut instead having one strip across both Benedict's. It would be a lot easier to eat. Service (5/5) Manny/Emmanuel was amazing. He was attentive and pleasant. He is the reason I believe this place deserves a 4/5 stars not 3.5/5. My girlfriend ordered tea and wanted black tea. Unfortunately when the tea came there wasnt any black tea. After mentioning it to our server, he refunded the tea and got us a Messy Caramel Latte. He handled the problem very well. Mediocre food. Service is something to be desired. Used to be a mean freckly faced waitress who would ignore us and give us dirty looks when we would come in. A lot on the menu but nothing here tastes that great, especially if you are trying to avoid meat. Forget about it. I'm giving two stars instead of one just because I like other Broken Yolk restaurants, but this one doesn't deserve the brand. The line was long and service was slow. This location is way pricier than others, and food quality does not match that price difference. Home fries taste really bad, plus they are served cold. One of the things I love about The Broken Yolk restaurants are their Monte Cristo French toasts, which are tasteless, cold and lack a lot of cheese in this location. I'm so sorry that this restaurant does not meet what it takes to be a 5-star Broken Yolk, specially because I live nearby and could have visited this place very often, but it is also sad to pay a pricier check here for a less quality of food. In conclusion: if you want to pay more money on less quality food, then come here. read more

Wow...ordered through DoorDash. Had a tuna "melt" with onion rings. Requested sandwich to be served with no lettuce...don't know if it comes with lettuce, but wanted to be sure. What I got was a cold tuna salad sandwich, on stale sourdough bread, no cheese, no "melt" as bread was certainly not near a grill. Onion rings on the side had bitter taste as they were fried in rancid oil. This is no longer an option for a working Sunday lunch - or any meal! read more

Came in for breakfast last Sunday and the line was out the door to be seated. We decided to sit up at the bar for immediate seating. Our server Sarah was so sweet and gave some great suggestions. I came here twice within 2 weeks. The customer service for both times were great and friendly even though the place were busy. On my first visit there, I had a Golden State Benedict. It was truly delicious and it came with home fries which I thought it was okay. My friend has milk allergies, so she ordered gluten free pancakes which has no milk in it. She was very happy with her order bc it was delicious and tasted like real pancakes. She hasn't had pancakes in years. I also tasted them and they were very good. Also the portions of both meals we were big. The following week, I took my brother there also b/c he also can't eat dairy. He also ordered the gf pancakes and he loved it. I ordered the American Breakfast with hash browns, and it was good. For the price of the place, I would recommend the Benedicts. You can get similar dish of American Breakfast at another breakfast place for cheaper price. Just be prepare to come here hungry or get ready to bring home leftovers. read more

Really awesome food. Came not knowing what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by the service, food quality, and ambience. I ordered an omelette which was delicious albeit a little greasy. I also ordered a side of fruit, which really impressed me believe it or not. Instead of the typical fruit cup you get at this type of restaurant, the fruit cup actually had freshly sliced fruit, perfectly ripe and delicious. I came here with one other person on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. It was moderately busy, but we only waited about 15 minutes before being seated at a booth near the front. The atmosphere is very casual and no-frills, which is perfect if you're not looking for something too fancy. We were given water and coffee almost immediately, which was nice. I love all their different benedict variations, and settled on the Western since it included meat, hollandaise, and avocado. The food came out very quickly and definitely photographed well. The taste itself was very rich, with the combination of avocado and hollandaise, and enjoyable, but nothing special at all. The only thing That genuinely ruined this place for me was that or entire meal was very rushed. Not even ten minutes after we received our food, I asked our waitress for more coffee and in the process of pouring she put the check down! I hadn't even started eating the benedict yet! She kept passing by and looking at our table, but not asking if we needed anything, so I assume she was looking to see if we'd paid yet. When I asked her for more water, she asked if I was done and in the same moment was already reaching out to clear my plate. There was still half my food left! This happened a couple more times so we just paid and left to take our time at the Starbucks down the street. Overall the food was up to regular standard for a brunch place, but there are so many with better service that this place isn't really worth the rush. read more
