We've pass this location several times and finally decided to eat here for my husbands birthday. We had an amazing server: stephany, she was kind, responsive and efficient. We ordered the egg Benedict sopes, they were good but not great. They tend to get soggy over time. I had the breakfast tacos, they were chorizo con huevo with avocado, I really liked them. We also ordered a side of Nutella crepes. They were a little thick but overall good. All staff were extremely friendly and Kim. Will definitely come again. read more

Had a mom date for breakfast after we dropped off our kids, it was great! The decor inside has been updated since I've last been in here and looks nice and spacious. You would think that with a 20 percent surcharge for any individual food price plus $12.85 service charge for using uber eats that they could get an order right. Ordered a number of items. Missing an entire American breakfast. Only gave us the toast! Ordered chicken fried steak and no gravy. Took 1 1/2 hours for delivery. Interesting to note that earlier recent reviews mentioned that their same meals were also missing the gravy so this location definitely has issues with attention to detail. Absolutely no aspect of it was fresh, the bacon was undercooked, and the refried beans on the side were truly 90% water and more akin to sludge. Visited Broken Yolk for the first time this morning with friends. I am absolutely in love with their savory chicken crepes here. My lady opted for Chicken & Waffles Benedict that were just amazing too. Our friends really enjoyed their Nutella crepes as well with fresh strawberries + bananas. Broken Yolk is conveniently located off Chapman and Yorba in the city of Orange right off Chapman and the 55 freeway. The vibe here is fresh, clean and airy, a very comfortable feeling any time of day. Our server Manuel was very attentive, made great eye contact and was able to provide us with everything we needed for a great morning catching up with friends. I was really impressed with the quality of their bacon as well, and can't wait to try the Churro French toast when we come back this week! Thanks Manuel and team for a great experience!! Our visit for breakfast was quickly acknowledged and seated by Angelo and his team were very efficient in bringing us coffee and menus. We selected and gave our order 5 minutes after the coffee and the waitress returned 5 minutes later to refill our coffee. The food came out shortly and was delicious and fresh. This is a very popular place in the morning. Get there early or you'll be waiting. Staff are very nice. Was seated immediately and greeted by wait staff quickly. I ordered biscuits and gravy with side of fruit. The gravy was very good with pieces of sausage within. The biscuits tasted good but the bottom and top crust were very hard. The gravy is so thick there was not liquid to soften it. The bowl of fruit was very fresh and had a good variety of fruit. We were two friends catching up for 1.5 hours and attended to just enough during our visit. My friend ordered a short stack which was huge. Would go back again. read more

A better name would be "Broken Business Model". The food, when it finally arrived, was almost cold. The "Huevos Rancheros" was one hummingbird egg on the pita chip with tomato chunks from a can, topped with Costco Guac. The beans and rice were separate and would be right at home with the new El Salvador Supermax. Kids "Skillets" were cool to the touch with uncooked potato slices you could see through. Daughter Hash Browns were Hash Whites. The server was nice and the coffee and sweet stuff were good. But everything else was awful. I would say that perhaps we had a bad experience because we came almost to closing time. However, after asking them if we were going to get a table they said they could still serve us. I came here on a sunday afternoon with coworkers. No one attended our table after we sat down for some time. One waiter took our drink orders but never came back. Another waiter asked if we were ready to order but we brought up our drinks hadn't come. When the drinks did come I was still missing mine well into our meals. One of my coworkers was missing his order entirely. The machaca my other coworker ordered was missing the tortillas. The burger I received could be better as far as a breakfast burger goes. After asking for help from multiple waiters we were over it! They didn't even know the menu well enough to answer other questions we had about the beers on tap. Additionally, the food loses its flavor and you lose your appetite when service is this bad. I would definitely visit the other location we had a completely different and amazing experience. I am laying in bed on Saturday morning and my husband text me from downstairs, "Do you want breakfast?" Sure! I suggested a place I love that has awesome breakfast tacos, but they weren't doing delivery that day, and he didn't want to drive. So he chose Broken Yolk Cafe. I ordered the Baja Breakfast Tacos, which are chorizo, eggs, avocado, salsa fresca, and cotija. They are served with a side of rice and black beans. Husband ordered the Sun-Up Breakfast Sandwich: eggs, bacon, cheese, sourdough, served with potatoes, and he got a side of hollandaise. My tacos were really good! Although one fell apart as soon as I picked it up, would probably be good for them to use 2 corn tortillas instead of one. The tacos are pretty big and quite tasty. I LOVED the salsa fresca, it had a great flavor, I will ask for more next time! I was happy with the tacos. The rice, as others have stated, was crunchy. Like, how can you mess up rice so much that people review it being crunchy so many times? Figure out how to cook rice! It was inedible. The beans were whatever, kind of chewy? Probably also overcooked. His sandwich was quite boring, I could have made that for him at home and not had him spend $15 on it. But he said he liked it, and really liked it with the hollandaise. Potatoes were fine, also liked them with the hollandaise. I will order from here again, probably try one of their benedicts now that I know the hollandaise is good. read more

We came here on a Sunday for our first visit and surprisingly even though the restaurant was busy we didn't wait long before we were seated. Our Server was very friendly and he took the time to answer any questions we had since there were just too many delicious items to choose from! I ended up ordering the Biscuits and Gravy with Scrambled Eggs and Sausage. My daughter Kileigh decided to order the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes with Hash Browns and Bacon. The portions that they give you are big and we found out fast that our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. That being said, the food was really delicious and I even ordered an extra side of gravy to make sure I didn't run out! I'm from San Diego and the first Broken Yolk Cafe I went to was the original, in Pacific Beach. That one opened in 1979 and I started going in 1984. I was surprised to find a BYC up here, and in fact there are many. Today we tried the one at this location. It is Wednesday, and we arrived around 9:15-9:30. We were promptly seated, asked for a table on the patio, which is nice, though just a view of the parking lot. Our server was friendly and attentive. Our food arrived in a timely fashion. My wife gets the basic breakfast: eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast. She liked hers fine. I chose the Hash Skillet, and it was good but not great. I did not taste the hash as much as I would have liked. The coffee was good. Now, after 6 years of being up here and not knowing about the BYC, we will be back. The next time we'll try the Fullerton location, equidistant from our home to this location. read more
