I've been to this one and I've been to the one in Rancho Cordova. I've always had breakfast here and dinner at the one in Rancho. I don't know why it worked out that way. I like this one more, with parking right there, conveniently located next to the freeway and major arteries in Roseville ... not clogged ones, but roads ... you know what I mean. The service has been friendly, the prices are in the ball park, and the breakfast platters are large and satisfying. Their pancakes have been reliably tasty and, for me, pancakes are almost central to any breakfast adventure. This restaurant has a good atmosphere and it's a great place to sit there with a friend, keep drinking coffee, b.s., and procrastinate what you should be doing. Everyone should love this place! I have come here to eat quite a few times, and they have a wide variety of really delicious foods for a very reasonable price. A friend and I ate dinner here earlier today and were met by very welcoming staff. We were seated quickly and received our food just as quick. We both ordered the 2 piece fish and chips. I was immediately disappointed by the very small size of both pieces of fish. One of them was easily 2 small bites of fish in the middle with fried batter extended on both ends. I moved from Sacramento 12 years ago, but every opportunity I have while back in Sac, I stop for breakfast at Brookfields (any location, not just this one). My grandparents used to bring me here when I was a kid too. I can't believe anyone would compare it to Denny's or Carrow's - even though it's technically in the same coffee shop category, it's definitely on the high end of that scale. The decor, the food, the cleanliness, and the service are all excellent and way better than anything I've ever experienced at a typical greasy spoon chain coffee shop. I've never had a bad meal or bad service at any location. I just stopped by yesterday after spending Saturday at the State Fair. My favorite is the breakfast burrito- "Classic Huevos Con Burrito" I think it's called- but that sounds even more ultra-gringo than I already am, so I just ask for the breakfast burrito. I love that they bring me my extra salsa in a small gravy boat! My boyfriend got the San Jose scramble, which I have never seen on the menu before- a delicious mix of carnitas, potatoes, peppers, cheese, and eggs. Bill's Cafe, here in San Jose, has a similar delicious carnitas breakfast dish- I wonder if that's where they got the idea? Our server was great; he didn't even laugh at as too much when we ordered a giant brownie sundae to top off our breakfast. Yum! 8/19/2012 I'm not usually a fan of chain restaurants like this. Especially knowing it's a favorite destination of my 84 year old Grandparents. Our taste is dining is vastly different for the most part. The menu is so big, it took me F O R E V E R to decide what to order. Once I had decided on having Breakfast for Dinner, I settled with something quite simple. I had their French Toast Combination of Parisian French toast, eggs, bacon and sausage. It was good. I have no complaints. In fact, I can't complain about anything here because not only was the food better than just "good", but they were SO FRIENDLY, it actually blew my mind! I was there with a party of 9 to celebrate another relative's birthday. Of course, my Grandparents were there too. It just made me feel good to see how great they treat the older folks. There are times that my sweet Grandma isn't the easiest to please but they treated her as if she were family. Now I know why they go there so often! Two thumbs up for excellent customer service! Even though it isn't my kind of place to frequently dine, I'll be obliged to join my Grandparents the next time I get an invite, instead of just saying "No", because they're going to Brookfields. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I went with my grandfather for Father's Day and they were better than I could of imagined! I called they day before regarding reservations and the hostess was so sweet and genuinely friendly. I was concerned that my Grandfather who can't stand for long would have wait for a table but she assured me he would be taken care of, and comfortable. Top notch hostessing! When we arrived no wait friendly greet! As we sat my grandfather kindly thanked the seater and she was so touched she gave him a lotto ticket! My grandfather was so amazed he couldn't stop talking about it all day. He loves playing the lotto. We got Trisha who is one of my favorite servers she is always sweet and kind. Her service is on point every time. My grandfather was so moved by everyone as a whole that experience alone was better than any gift I could give him. I had Chicken fried steak w.peach scone. Hubby had waffle, eggs, bacon, sausage and added potatoes. Apple juice, orange juice and coffee ordered. Grand total = $40. Too expensive for our taste especially for breakfast. Busy restaurant. Good service. Quality of food was lacking. Wishing they didn't put cinnamon in the waffles. Chicken fried steak was huge, or so I thought. Had to peal away the extra breading to get meat. Also, the breading just fell off. Not a great chicken fried steak. Good gravy tho! Potatoes were soooo plain! Crispy but had no seasoning, onions or bell peppers! Coffee was good & strong! Apple juice was tasty! The good: Seated fast, drinks came out quickly... server was "friendly": The bad: 2 of us ordered bennies, returned both of them (cold and one was wrong). Replates come out quickly, and this time hot. My CA benny was missing tomatoes, covered in "sauce", assembly was awful, eggs overcooked. My friend's eggs were overcooked and also covered in sauce, but slightly better. Ladies had an omelette and granola and yogurt (no issues thankfully). Was here recently with a large group after a family event. This is not a place that I would normally go to eat, I did not pick it; but I was pleasantly surprised. I had the enchiladas with tomatillo sauce, they were quite good, but could have used more tomatillo sauce. They were "glazed" with sauce. The beans were ok, but I really liked the rice. Came in for dinner around 5 on a Saturday. They were doing a good business in what looked like a very local clientele. We were seated promptly. The service was impressive - fast, friendly, attentive. Again, Roseville disappoints. We came here per a hotel suggestion and lets just say its like an over rated Denny's- in fact Denny's would have been better. We ordered our coffee first and before we even had a chance to enjoy it, a waitress clumsily approached our table yelling "coffee refills?" It frightened all of us. My wife chose not to finish that drink due to the poor make up of the drink. My wife had the Corned Beef Hash, and the green onions seemed a bad fit for the dish. And was full of coriander seeds which are not great to bite into. She barely ate a quarter of her meal and didn't even take the left overs due to disappointment. Really not all that great. First off it's super noisy in here. The decor gives it the ambiance of a Cracker Barrel which may or may not be your thing but when there's a lot of people in here it gets pretty defeaning in my opinion. We got a couple breakfast items which were acceptable but nothing to write home about. We opted to get some of the dessert items too since they looked so good in the display case but boy were they disappointing. They just had no flavor to them and were really uninspiring. This is one of our favorite places to go for brunch or breakfast. Hands down best made from scratch scones, breads, and pies. Cinnamon rolls are off the hook.
