For an app we shared the fried calamari. I've had it here before, still good stuff, but the price went up and size went down - just like Oreos! They use to serve a generous portion in that standard red plastic fish shack basket, but now for $14 you get half that amount in this cutsie little metal fry basket that's almost small enough to fit into Malibu Barbie's Kitchen. Take a look at the pic how small the basket is - at $10 they'd be getting away with murder almost! The we both ordered Bacon Cheese Burgers - which come in a basket with fries & one pickle. The burger is of modest size, sized more for a very hungry kid than an adult, but if you're not that hungry and are just hanging it'll do. The shoelace fries were excellent - nice and crisp - but again the price ruins the aftertaste - $22 for a burger in the basket?!!! SERIOUSLY? You can get a nice skirt steak at that price elsewhere. Sorry no way - even if they priced this at $17 you'd still think twice. Who cares if you name it a "Smash Burger." It was a good burger, not outstanding, nor smashing, just good - but again at $22 they're just knocking you over the head. No respect as Rodney would say. It seems ownership is on a COVID CASH GRAB - trying to make up for the lost revenue of 2020, but not realizing the spicket might dry up real soon once price burned customers get a load of their check. I went to Brooklyn Crab 2 day's ago and while it seems like everybody's experience is not consistent and a hit and miss here I go with my review. This was a last minute dinner and I placed the reservation online but was never confirmed. Since I live 10 minutes away from the restaurant I decided to walk and see if they have a table for us. Waitress was accommodating and we had a table right on the spot. The place was empty and it was raining outside so I was sure that getting a table by walk in shouldn't be a problem. Now going straight to menu and staff/service. We ordered Mac and Cheese and two orders of Snow Crab steam pot. Drinks came first with Mac and Cheese and food came around 10-15 minutes later. Mac and Cheese were really good and I've tried many Mac and Cheese from different places before. It came hot and I did really enjoyed it. Snow Crab Steam pots came also hot to my table and had very good taste. I would say it has a unique flavor and not comparable to eat crab legs straight from the ocean right away even boiling them, it was good. My waitress and the waiter (seems to be on training) and that's why I had two instead of one were not pushy on us to order either drinks or more food. They literally served us and left us to enjoy every minute of ourselves and the food, that is a plus. Now there are a couple things I have to say in order to keep a balance and what I pay and what I got: Understanding that this restaurant was closed for a very long time due the pandemic, the prices have increase and the serving, in specific for the crab legs, for the most part were thin long crab legs not super meaty but large on quantity. I'm not sure if they charged me a COVID fee because it was not on the receipt but there are other restaurants that do it and is I believe a 2% extra charge. Now because the waitress/waiter really let us enjoy our food and drinks, food came hot all the time, serving size was decent to what I was paying even not as meaty as I expected and understanding that the restaurant just came back from the pandemic but still maintain a acceptable level of quality and customer service I give them 4/5. read more

Came here today 6/21/19 to my celebrate my nieces graduation. It was raining but we still had a good time. I ordered the little neck clams but they didn't have, i also had the calamari which was good, and the popcorn shrimp was ok. had a little bit of my sister's crab roll, nothing to rave about; a lot of mayo. We all petty much had the same things except for the ppl who had burgers. The fries were good as well as the passionfruit margarita but could hardly taste the passionfruit; it was mostly sour but strong. While I've enjoyed my share of Crab Boils- down in the Lower East Side and close to home, I almost hesitated to come here. I felt twice is more than enough to eat at those Boil places with seasoned 'seafood-in-a bag' and hoped dearly, this wasn't another one of those. Honestly, it's different- alright! Street Level has a large Bar Area, Bean Bag Toss and other games to keep you busy while waiting. Another Bar Area on the 2nd floor with an outdoor deck and more seating. Then there's the 3rd floor- tons of space and huge windows overlooking the water. But here's the thing: wait for a table was an hour+15 minutes. Hostess mentioned the 2nd floor as being less uptight and if a table was cleared- we can claim it as ours. We grabbed some chairs, ordered drinks to keep busy and waited for what cleared first: the 2nd floor or our initial reservation on the 3rd. Thankfully, got a text and off to the 3rd we went. Sat after 10pm, caught the sights and energy with some pop music. Oysters were ok as a starter. Cocktails were pretty good and somewhat strong- no major complaints. My daughter thought her Portobello Burger with French Fries was ok. My Snow Crabs were very good and so freaking meaty but my real issue was the soggy and overdone shells on all of them and didn't crack well. My husband's Jonah Crabs (similar to Stone Crabs) were good. Service was nice- some hit and misses but not a totally huge problem and rounding it to a 3+1/2. As a matter of fact, I wanna come back. For a 22 dollar roll of crab, I received a small tiny amount, on which there was mayonnaise, which should have been placed on a side. The roll itself was not tasty. The king crab roll that my partner obtained was the same. Caesar salad was mostly croutons, no healthy amount of salad. No salt or peppers at the table and waiter was mostly absent. It's covid time, understandably. The roll is served with potato chips. So you get the idea - simple carbohydrates overload, a part of our obese American diet. We also ordered a chowder, which had raw potatoes in it. For 100 dollars per 2, it was mostly little of nutritional value and the food did not taste good. Stopped in for a lunch/brunch and had the "Crab roll", which is like a lobster roll, only with crab meat. It was pretty tasty, and comes with a ton of "Herr's-style" potato chips and a pickle. Not too bad for $26. I also had a frozen margarita. I just sat at the bar, arriving just after noon on a busy and beautiful Saturday. As the crowd started to build, the bar, where I was sitting was getting SLAMMED, even with 3 people working it. I had to flag them down to just pay my check. There's gotta be a better system. I've been here a few times over the years, and I dread the thought on crowded days.... but I will return again, because they always have very good quality food. My dining guest had the shrimp basket they were also very tasty and fresh but the fries were undercooked and sent back and replaced with Cajun fries that were tasty. The Bacardi pina colada was the best I've had. They offer a seafood platter called the Royale with crab, lobster, and , shrimp. Most of the seafood was good. However, the shrimp was washed out, we sent back one of the clusters of crab legs and the lobster was mushy and not fresh. The ambience is very casual and a great spot in the warm weather.
