    Southern fried mushroom "chicken" crepe

Took a drive and happened upon BOK thanks to Yelp and "vegan options". Our waitress was friendly, patient and checked in to inquire if we needed anything else. We sat outside but went inside to the restroom afterwards and the decor, cleanliness and spaciousness made me wish we had eaten inside! Oh the food.... Delicious!

    sesame ginger bowl

Went here for lunch and really enjoyed the fresh tasting food. To split for two people, we ordered the sesame ginger bowl with chicken, green juice, and truffled kale and chickpeas. The green juice was great and had a bit of a kick to it. The truffled kale and chickpeas were crispy and was a perfect sharing size. The sesame ginger bowl was good, however, it was sweeter than expected. We asked the server if there was anything making it sweet and he told us there was some maple syrup on the chicken. He was extremely kind and told us they could take it out for us now in the kitchen or in the future. We were of course happy that it was a natural sweetener, however, the chicken just didn't need the sweetness. The dishes were more expensive than we were expecting and hoping to pay, however, all the fresh ingredients and kind service were much appreciated and make me want to go back.

Real lemonade and an oat milk latte

Referred by a friend and so glad I listened! Had no idea this amazing place existed, right on a lake!! The cafe is adorable. But the food - cooked by a vegan chef, outstanding! We came here on a Caribbean themed specials evening. So happy we did because the Coconut "shrimp" - delicious!! My partner ordered the jackfruit sliders - I prefer much less salt than was on them. The gluten free vegan muffins - I'd travel the 45 minutes just to have another one. REAL lemonade - nice and sour. The lattes were delicious and they use my favorite oat milk - Oatly - making for the most delicious creamy vegan latte.

I came here for brunch with a group of friends on a Sunday and had a great time. The place is clean and very straight forward, relaxed dining area. We had the mushroom calamari which was good but the breading was a little salty. I had the steak panini with arugula and goat cheese which was good but very heavy. The staff were really nice and friendly. It's nice that they have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options for both their sweet and savory foods. The price is a bit steep even by NYC prices.

Good smoothies and latte's have lavender... The outdoor seating is nice and food is ok. I love that they let you change things and are SO KIND always. So I'd def go here even if food wasn't 10/10 as they sub things and again service is top notch!

Gluten free Avocado Toastie with poached egg

I was up this way for a doctor appointment, googled gluten free and this place popped up, so I decided to give it a try. Originally I was going to just get food to-go, but the environment was so inviting I decided to stay and sit at the counter. The servers were so kind and very patient with another customer who was being difficult. All they employees were wearing masks as well, which was comforting. I got the gluten free avocado toast with a poached egg. It was really well balanced and had a generous amount of avocado! Perfect! Cons: they went a little heavy with the almond milk and ice in my iced coffee. And the gluten free banana chocolate chip muffin that I got to-go was really bland, the banana tasted like it had gone bad, and the base was more like a cupcake flavor/texture. If I had only gotten the muffin and coffee... This would be a very different review. Definitely worth stopping in for a meal. They have lots of healthy options for many different preferences / dietary restrictions.

YES YES YES YES YES! The is a must try spot located in the heart of Mahopac. Can you say vegan? This place does not have a vegan option..... they have MANY!! The make us vegans feel right at home with a vegan chef on staff. They have so many tasty options and even offer vegan muffins, brownies and sometimes cake. That staff is just phenomenal always so welcoming especially the owner who is just the sweetest person. One thing that can be a little scary is it's a little pricey which stops me from going there all the time, but you get what you pay for which is fresh and delicious food & drinks. The restaurant is always so clean and has such a warm/welcoming vibe. In the warmer months they even have outdoor seating. To top things off they even participate in Vegan events like Vegandale last year at Randall's Island & this year had a Veganuary Happy Hour!

    Iced matcha latte..

Cute restaurant with lovely decorations and vibes but the drinks are awful. I came in for about 30 seconds and grabbed a menu, was asked if I was ready to order immediately. I said no, I just got here. 30 seconds later, I was asked again if I was ready.. I said no. Another 30 seconds again I was asked if I was ready, I said no. I felt so rushed so I made a quick decision to go with an iced matcha latte. I got my drink within 2 minutes. I noticed they did not whisk the matcha powder and water at all. I've had mediocre matcha lattes before but this is the very first time ever in 15 years of drinking matcha lattes that I received a terrible drink!!!! It tasted like water with 5% matcha flavor. Look how dull the drink is!!! I couldn't even drink more than 1/2. I even gave my friend a sip before telling him my opinion so I can hear his first, he gagged and handed it back to me quick. What a sad morning it was! I purchased it at 11:30am. Please do better with the drinks, the place wasn't even that busy.

Went with a party of 5 and pretty much everyone had a complaint. Soggy potatoes are the worst.

Our…read morefirst visit was on a Friday, and it was nice and quiet with only about five families there. The waitresses were very attentive, the layout was beautiful, and everything was clean and welcoming. The only little thing that bothered us was a fly that kept coming back to our table. The food, however, was fantastic! On our first visit, I had the Kimchi Bowl, my husband had the Steak & Eggs, my daughter had pancakes with strawberries, and my son had Chicken & Waffles. Everything was delicious! We enjoyed it so much that we came back on our last day, which was a Sunday around noon. This time, I had the Steak & Eggs, and let me tell you--breakfast of champions! My husband had the Breakfast of Champions, my son made his own burger, and my daughter had the Nutella crêpe with strawberries. Every single plate was left empty! We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was so lovely and welcoming. We're already looking forward to coming back to town, and you can bet we'll be making a stop at The Brunch House again--especially for the Steak & Eggs and those delicious crêpes!

It didn't feel like one of their specialties, so if I come back, I probably wouldn't order it again. But i love the fries. Overall, the place is nice, and I'd return -- just for something else on the menu.

But it was a good meal. The Cottage Pie was pretty good..again, I prefer the classics so I would rather a Shepherd's Pie ( with seasoned ground lamb and not beer ), but it was still a nice comfort meal. The decor is cute..I miss the dim light and warm / dark woods and colors that you expect in an Irish pub. I met the owner on the first visit and she is very nice and I wish her great luck..but the kids who work there have very little passion or personality unfortunately. This really is a nice little place and I hope it succeeds..but it has a few up hill issues..first is its smack in the center of many already establishment great restaurants the other big one is this: 75% of people who live up here moved from Southern Westchester or the Bronx..what does that mean? ..it means we all grew up on Rorys!!! And that is what we are seeking up here. Anyway, nice little place for a comfort meal if you are tired of Good Chinese or Italian. Enjoy!
