In Tulsa, Ok visiting the in-laws and outlaws - and was shopping at a really eclectic shop (Ida Red) on Brookside when they recommended grabbing a bite to eat at 'Brookside by Day' across the street. Excellent choice on a chilly, windy December day to relax in this community favorite since 1991. Perfect place to enjoy some delicious home cooking on a cold damp day! Food and drink were great, service was top notch with friendly staff and food at great prices. Really enjoyed the experience I think everyone has a favorite place they can go to and enjoy good home cooking in a relaxed environment. Thank you for the great service Jack!

These people have got to be the worst thing ever. Horrible food and service. The owner flipped me off and told me to get out and not come back. All because I didn't feel like the server deserved his so called 20% tip that they automatically add to your ticket. First of all if you zoom in on the pics you can see the owner saying his arms and yelling at my wife and our daughter to get out. Not a place I'd take my family ever again!

Haven't been to BBD in years so we decided to change that. Unfortunately it want as good as I remembered. My dad ordered the basic two egg and sausage breakfast which was on the pricier side. They were out of hash browns, which is strange for a breakfast joint, so home fries were subbed. All ten small cubed home fries were delicious. But ten? I ordered the Basic Murrito with scrambled eggs, sausage, cheese, etc. again on the pricey side for a small burrito and again, approximately ten small cubed home fries. It was served with thimbles of guacamole, sour cream and watery salsa which didn't have much flavor in my opinion. The flavor just wasn't there at all in my burrito. Will definitely be a while before returning as there are far better options for breakfast in the area.

It's pretty good. Stick with traditional breakfast items and you can't really go wrong (I've only had breakfast here). My first time I had the Fred's Country Benedict. I wasn't a huge fan at all. The small OJ was extremely small. Maybe 4 - 6 oz. The second time I got the 2 egg breakfast and a waffle and it was good. The waffle was really good! I'd definitely order again! I got a large OJ and was much more pleased. If you go early enough or on a nice day you should definitely enjoy your meal on the patio. Very nice vibe.

Great service, perfect portions, and fresh ingredients. We all loved our food. The only reason I'm leaving 4 stars is the bathroom really needs a remodel and new tile. I'm really big on places being clean. This bathroom felt gross when I walked in and it smelled like mold. I know it must be difficult to remodel when you only have one small bathroom and need to keep business running. However, I think that bathroom will always feel dirty until it gets new tile, grout, and maybe a fresh coat of paint. Oh also expect 20% gratuity to be automatically added to your check.

This whole area reminds me of Meridian Drive in Oklahoma City. Wide Open Spaces by The Dixie Chicks. However it's also city life. Lots of people. But also very comfortable. The waters and waitresses wear very casual outfits. Shorts, lounge wear, croptops and tennis shoes make people feel right at home. But it's not just the attentiveness of the staff and the way they dress and act are what's so appealing. I love looking out the large windows. The music is perfectly chosen. The food isn't bad. It's honestly really good. I just don't understand why it's only rated 3 stars. Maybe I can figure that out by reading other reviews.

Went for a late breakfast with my sweetheart, and this place fit the bill as she wanted protein but i fast food. She had French toast and bacon, I had an omelette. Decor is simple and dated. Don't come for the decor. Wait staff was awesome and attentive. I asked for coffee once, every other time they asked me if I needed topping off. Food was good. Momma loved the French toast, and had a side of 4 pieces thick bacon. My omelet was good and had plenty of filling. It came with sides, including a biscuit and gravy that was spot on. Added to the bill was 20% gratuity, which was a surprise, but with Covid, I've got no problem with this because although I pay up, there are plenty of jack wagons who don't. Meal was a little pricey for the location...but we enjoyed our meal. Momma was happy, and if Momma ain't happy .... you get the drift. 4 star meal, 3 star value, 5 star service. 4 stars overall.

I tried this place today for the first time and they have a very simple but good breakfast and lunch menu. I had the breakfast burrito with sausage and it was great decent portion size and okay on price. I think my only issue that I had at this place is they automatically add at 20% gratuity to your check. The service was fast and we had a group of eight and everything came out at the same time and everyone enjoyed their food. But I wouldn't say it's a place I would try to go a lot of times for breakfast.

Ambiance reminds me of a fancy place you would find in a larger city. Upscale and minimalistic. Very pleasant. I sat at the bar so unsure about service at a table. Unfortunately, I felt overlooked at the bar, especially since I wasn't drinking. The staff was extremely busy making drinks and I had to get their attention whenever I needed anything. Would recommend making reservations to get a table seat to receive proper service. I ordered the burger with fries. Cooked well but the flavor was nothing special. Decor is dim and intimate, very nice. It was fun watching the bartenders mixing and crafting drinks. The patrons here kept them busy. I ordered an espresso martini without Bailey's (Oren's way), which was decent. For dinner we had the lamb shoulders, brussel sprouts and a burger. The lamb came unexpected in almost a meatloaf shaped slide and it was tender flavorful. Quite good! The Brussels sprouts were nicely done and tasty. As for burger, I was indifferent on. I had a friend who said it was his favorite, but I thought it was fine. They need to change the buns. The fries were awesome. Looking forward to coming back again!

Service was spot on throughout the entire night. We started with the deviled eggs, half plain and half Chef's Choice. The Chef's Choice were the best, drizzled with chili crisp (or pickled Szechuan peppercorns) and topped with a tiny gherkin and fresh dill. The soup of the day was a cabbage and radish soup. It was interesting and very homey but I wish I had ordered the salad. I had the Novarro Farm sweet Potato Gnocchi (kale and pecan pesto, Birch Bottom Farm Georgia candy roaster, fresh chevre). I was a little hesitant about the kale pesto but should NOT have been. This dish was delicious--great garlic flavor. Would order again. The burger looked amazing and while The Hubs said it was good, he also said it needed some more spice. They had a couple of rotating beers from Heirloom--a Mexican Lager and an Italian Pilsner. I had the Water Lily cocktail, their take on an Aviation. Order it just because it's beautiful (and refreshing). The photo does not depict the deep color of it. I asked what other gin based cocktails they had on their menu. They didn't but the server/bartender offered to make me a Bee's Knees for the second round. It was delicious! The atmosphere here is casual but the food is elevated. I kept thinking this is what a French bistro would be like inside. I want to come back and shop the market. Oh, and the apple pie was excellent as well!

Upon arriving at my table, I was offered still and sparkling water to drink and my server was very attentive to my needs and kept both of my water glasses full. I ordered the chicken piccata. The chicken picatta came with a generous helping of three pieces of chicken served with a buttery pan sauce and capers alongside whipped potatoes. The chicken was excellently cooked and was tender and moist with ever-so-slightly crisped edges. The sauce was tangy and the capers added a bite that worked perfectly with it on a way that really made the chicken piccata shine as a dish. The whipped potatoes did not have a lot of flavor on their own, but meshed well with the pan sauce. At the conclusion of the meal, the check came with an Andes mint. It was semi warm and it just wasn't what I was expecting. But my father-in-laws wife had it and loved it. So I chose this restaurant because they had fried chicken in the menu. Well, I'm never gonna turn down fried chicken so I ordered it. I included pictures for reference. At first glance I thought they had over cooked it because of its dark color. But as I started eating I realized that they had used a ton of paprika in the batter to give it that dark red amber color. The chicken was good and not overcooked. However, they used a batter for the crust. Much like a Japanese tempura but less garlic. The crust was a hard crunchy shell. The flavor was ok but I just don't care for battered chicken. I also felt like it was cooked too hot. The crust was borderline over cooked but the inside was done. That's just my opinion. They served the chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy on the side. Both just warm and as my meal progressed the gravy was straight up cold. But I was finished so I powered through. To be fair, the fried chicken was the least expensive entree on the menu. But I'm kind of a fried chicken snob so I'm gonna give it a 6 out of 10. I prob would not order it again, but there were some other things on the menu I am excited to try on our next visit.
