I was yelping for a nice latte spot in the area and I discovered Brot Coffee. They are located in the same plaza as Staples and there was plenty of parking. The interior was quite roomy as well. There was plenty of seating to the front and the left of the shop while the coffee making and ordering is to the right of the shop. Seems like a good place to sit down and actually enjoy your coffee and pastries. Anyways I proceeded to check on their menu. I had been warned about their bread from Ryan P.'s review so I figured I would stick to lattes and pastries. I ordered a large hot Vanilla Latte ($4.50) and a Kouign Amann ($3.95). To save you struggles that I faced with pronunciation, Kouign is read as Queen. I got my pastry first and it was a cute shape. However when I bit into it, I was somewhat disappointed. It was hard and just okay. My second bite improved cause the taste was better and I could see the thin layers of pastries. I think it would have tasted a lot better if it was fresh. I came before work so it was early morning and there was a huge pile of these so I don't think they are leftovers from the prior day. They probably didn't bake these freshly in house. I would love to try these fresh! I imagine it would be quite glorious. With my latte, I asked for it to be in a togo cup so I wouldn't have to rush if I need to leave for work. It came with a cute little heart design on top. My Vanilla Latte was perfect. The coffee flavor was perfect! I can definitely see myself coming back to Brut Coffee for Lattes, but I will pass on their pastries or bread. The coffee pricing is reasonable but the bread and pastry price is by far on the higher side and with my personal experience, it wasn't worth it. Service was up and down. This is a solid Cafe Spot near Orange, if you ever need to find a spot to study or something quick. There is a small parking lot surrounded by other stores but on weekdays, parking can be fairly easy to find. The service was quick and the cashiers were very friendly. The coffee was still very good yet it did not stand out as much as other cafe spots. I have had multiple drinks there such as the white mocha which would be my favorite or the ice blended drinks. I've also tried their matcha lattes which I wasn't a great fan of, as I ordered the sweetened one yet there was only a hint of sweetness and depth within the drink. I still recommend this cafe as a great cafe to go to when you need something quick or to study as there are multiple seats inside. read more

They also service bakery foods and I tried their seasonal toast which was good. As for the ambience, it can get a little loud which can make it hard to study without headphones. Guys. I played a game of Yelp roulette and won! I had a bunch of back to back meetings and needed to be in the area before an appointment and didn't want to risk traffic so I went to Yelp and typed in my requirement of a coffee shop with wifi and let the GPS guide me. What an adorable shop I stumbled upon! Not only is Brot super spacious with a variety of different types of tables but their offerings were simple and delicious! More on that in a bit. As mentioned my main criteria was a place for me to take my VC work meetings and Brot provided the perfect environment for that. There were many different types of seating, high tops, round tables for socializing and a bit more secluded tables for quiet or solo work - with accessible plugs! I found myself a nice cozy corner against the back. Also in terms of sound, it wasn't creepy quiet where I was afraid to make sounds but the background noise wasn't overwhelming where I couldn't get work done either. I am not much of a coffee drinker but I do love me a nice cup of tea. They have a great selection of loose leaf teas and the best part is that if you are staying they give it to you in a pot and you can seep to your hearts desire. Also I loved the ecofriendly option of reusable cups! I was most surprised by their toast bar - not even sure if that is what they call it but whatever. Essentially you can build your own toast or choose from a prebuilt combination. I was initially confused because instead of the standard pastries case they were showcasing different types of breads - classic, sweet, savory - they had it all. All of their toasts are reasonably priced and come with a generous pat of butter. And you can then choose your toppings according to taste - again sweet or savory combinations are up to you. I went with a garlic rosemary bread with avocado and egg. They served me up a thick slice of evenly toasted bread, half an avocado and half an sliced up egg. I love simple meals and this was super easy to put together. I loved their sustainable options here, reusable utensils, trays, cups, etc. They have a central area for extra fixings that also help cut down on waste which I loved! Great place to study/get work done! The baristas are very friendly and you can tell that they care about taking care of the cafe. I tried their March monthly speciality drink, the matcha latte with rose and it was delicious. I would highly recommend. For an extra charge, milk can be substituted. I liked the variety of drinks they offered. There is a good amount of outlets and plenty of seating. I would not recommend going with a group of more than 5 people on a Friday afternoon. I visited on a Friday around 10 am and most seats were taken. People seemed to leave closer to 12 pm and most seats were available around 2 pm. I would definitely come back! read more

Now I must say I just learned that the "squaw" bread (which I refer to as molasses rye bread) could be an offensive label for Native American women thus found it curious to be on the menu along with the "Squanana". I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place after a doctors appointment nearby. The space is super cute and has several plants around AND wall plant art which I am obsessed with! Lots of seating and a cute small table for kids. The owner was very nice and helpful in giving me recommendations. I got the almond milk vanilla latte and it was incredible! Last week was my first visit to Brot Coffee - the parking lot was almost full and a couple homeless people begging for money & another man being arrested in the parking lot, but I digress, no vibe or positive energy and wasn't greeted. Several people eating or having coffee and 2 people in line in front of me so waited 15 min to order 2 lattes (1 hot & 1 cold) meh! And ordered the avo toast on toasted sourdough w/HB egg, tomato - very sparsely topping and it wasn't toasted besides being asked twice if I wanted it toasted. Ordered a slice of toasted cinnamon bread and another dude of plain toasted sourdough - waited 10 min handed bread - not toasted either. I figured why bother waiting in line to get it fixed - slice of bread $3.00 each?? Geez. I def won't be back next time we are at CHOC - not worth the wait or the money read more

My favorite coffee shop AND favorite study spot in Orange County!! It's clean, spacious, and there's a lot of natural light from the wall of windows. The staff is always friendly. They play classical music softly in the background which makes it perfect for studying. It's most crowded on the weekends in the morning, but I'm always able to find a seat. Sometimes I have to sit at the bar if I come on Saturday at 10am, but I just wait 10 minutes until a table opens up and hop over there. Brot has the BEST caramel latte!! The foam on top is so delicious. It almost tastes like marshmallow fluff. The latte is sweet, but you can still taste the espresso. I get a large latte every time I go, but I've also had their hot tea, which was great. They have a large selection of artisan breads and you can get a thick slice for $3 which I do occasionally. I usually get the garlic or cranberry walnut. The butter is free, but they have other toppings for additional costs. It's a nice alternative from the typical pastries coffee shops have. This quaint little coffee shop with a display of freshly made batch of pastries and bread is quite welcoming. The parking lot is a bit odd in that it is a one way only type of deal, but once you get passed that idea, you see that it's nestled near a taco shop, Domino's pizza, and Staples. I stopped by for a quick pick me up and thought the hot vanilla latte was just okay. It didn't blow me away like other yelpers experienced. My new favorite coffee shop! Have been getting coffee here regularly for the last couple months and I am in love! Used to go to Starbucks, but decided to give Brot a try since its on my way to work and I have not gone back to Starbucks since! Every single staff member that I have interacted with is always very friendly and polite. And they have an amazing squawnana toast that has also become a regular item for me. The wait is usually pretty short and they have NEVER messed up my order (I'm usually there 3 times a week!) I have recommended them to several friends and they all agree. My first time here. My parents and I went here on a Sunday at around 2:20pm and the traffic for coffee was pretty much nonexistent. The space is nice, pretty calming, and also more quiet than other cafes. The barista was quite nice and it was a pleasant atmosphere Italian Cappuccino w/ oatmilk Love it! It was a smooth coffee flavor for me and it wasn't too overpowering. Chai mocha w/ oatmilk You can really taste the mocha, and it was quite delicious! It's not sweet as you would expect it to be so it was a pleasant surprise. I'm glad the barista recommended it to me. I honestly downed it in less than 10 minutes...I need more self control.. Cafe latte It was pretty good as well. I mean it's your basic common late. My mom and dad liked it. Great parking, great interior. I saw a lot of good reviews and was eager to check it out for myself. Ordered a Caffe Mocha with macadamia milk (0.80) and was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the taste of the chocolate and it wasn't overly sweet. I was also glad it was not as expensive as other places. There is free wifi and plenty of seats and outlets. Lots of people come in but it is not obnoxiously loud. The baristas are attentive and patient when ordering. The first thing I noticed when walking in was the smell of baked goods!
