This is a follow up review. About a week ago I had a very bad experience at the La Grange location and wrote a complaint review, which the owner responded to immediately. He responded with offering to give us a better experience. The food was great, my daughter expressed how good everything was. I judge mexican place by chips and salsa and theirs were delicious the entrees were delicious, everything was a Mexican delight. We ordered pick up from here last night. I got the ground beef chimichanga and my husband ordered lechun asado. We both had enough for two entire meals. The chimi was different than I am used to back home in Ohio - they stuffed it with ground beef, lettuce, beans, rice, and sour cream. I am used to having. All the fillings on top or beside the dish. Because of this, the chimi was HUGE, but sooo tasty! I ordered queso fun dodo to pour on top but by the time we got it home, it had congealed to just a giant block of cheese. I tried reheating it but it never got soft enough to pour. They also don't provide chips or anything to dip in the queso which is so odd to me. Are we just supposed to cut off chunks of cheese to eat by themselves? I am going to try putting it in a small crock pot tonight to see if we can get it back to the way we had imagined it would be. My husband loved the lechun and said he would order it again. I would definitely try this place again and am looking forward to the leftovers but I don't think I'll ever order the queso fundido again - just wasn't what I was expecting. read more

First visit here. The decor is modern, fresh clean like an upscale restaurant. The server stopped by with chips, salsa and an offer of a beverage. They just opened late morning and I was one of three diners there. I would think the chips would be made daily, but after biting into them, they were not. You can see the display case with a few dozen bags of them and the oil accumulated at the bottom. They pout a bag into a basket. They were stale. I asked for fresh ones, she came back with warm chips, not freshly friend, but warmed up. So, we didn't eat anymore chips\. The salsa was bland and not authentic, but they appeared to try a twist of modern flavors. So the steak tacos I ordered arrived. The presentation was very nice. Flour tortillas were warm but a bit too large for the ratio of meat and fillings. The steak had great flavors and tender, until, yep, the typical grizzle and untrimmed fat. It was going great the first couple bites until then. Same thing with the other 2 tacos. That pretty much left me not finishing the food. The server came and took the plate, asked how everything was and I said "it was okay". She continued on and brought my bill. There's no asking what may have been wrong. We waited a while for drink refills and you could see other diners looking around for the same. Several servers were gathered behind the counter blocked by the display case. The owners are apparently the chefs as well, came out once to greet customers which was a nice gesture. It is not authentic by any means and neither is the service. read more

I eat out 4-5 days a week so I am always looking to try new places. What a great little find in Hillside! This is a typical Mexican diner with excellent top end Mexican food. The place is clean, well lit, and has its own charm. The takeout counter as you walk in adds to the ambiance and I thought created the diner feel. We were seated right away and the wait staff was prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. A few minor dings, silverware settings should include a knife, chips taste very store bought, and every self-respecting Mexican restaurant should serve Bohemia. The salsas were really interesting and tasty. Creamy in texture they really had a great flavor. We had a large Ceviche to start and I gotta say, as good as I've ever tasted. But the large is enough for 8 peeps. I had a couple tacos, barbacoa and pastor. Delicious. Portion size on the rice was small but tasted great but the beans really need work. The stars were really the mains. We had burritos, Barbacoa, Quesadillas, fajitas, and all were excellent except the quesadilla which was good, not great. It's nice when you find a hidden gem in your neighborhood. No disappointments here! Service was pleasant,the restaurant was clean and the waitress was attentive. The food was delicious! It's a mixture of puerto rican and mexican food. Which is a plus! My sister had the steak torta and I had the cheese enchiladas. Both with puerto rican rice. So delicious! From the outside, this place looks like a place that you might go for drinks, but not necessarily food. I went here after my hair appointment to satiate my appetite prior to my long journey home and was pleasantly surprised. The inside is bright with contemporary styling that is even more appealing than the outside. The prices were reasonable and the portions were plentiful. The staff were friendly and attentive, anticipating the needs of their customers before it was even requested. I was a bit disappointed that they did not sell elote as their outside sign stated, however, the torta that I ordered easily made up for that disappointment. The sandwich was filled with meat and beans and the bread was phenomenal. I may have to get my hair styled more often just to justify this pit stop soon :) read more

This was our first visit to Brother's, as we have tried just about every Mexican restaurant within a 10 mi radius of Oakbrook. The Carne Asada was THE BEST I have ever had, and believe you me, I have had plenty in addition to cooking it myself. Unbelievable flavor and tenderness. NEVER had Carne Asada, medium rare, as tender as Brother's. Also had Shrimp Diablo. Fantastic spicy sauce. Maybe a little light on the shrimp, however plenty of sauce to make a second meal with our own shrimp. Again, this is one of the best in the area. Guacamole is a wonderful side! read more

Wonderful, friendly service. Excellent food and margaritas. We go almost weekly and have never had a bad experience.

I ordered takeout using the Yelp app-very easy and convenient. My food was ready when I arrived and check out was fast and polite. The restaurant is in a strip mall so you can park right in front and zip in and out (a bonus when picking up an order). I ordered the Carne Asada Tampiquena. It came with a cheese enchilada (which honestly was unrecognizable when I opened the container), red and green sauce (both very good), sour cream, and rice and beans. I ordered the steak medium, but wasn't really expecting it because generally carne asada is so thin it is always med well-not at Brother's! The steak was thicker than usual and was actually cooked to medium. While I didn't eat at the restaurant, it looked clean and comfortable. The food is good (not great), and the staff is pleasant. We recently used Brothers to cater a graduation party. They are not too glade away and I had heard good things. I stopped by to place the order in person, and I have to say for a small location in a strip mall, it was very warm and friendly. The girl who took my order was nice, but I especially appreciated the call I received from what I assume was one of the "Brothers" the morning of our event, going through my order to ensure he had everything right. While all that is great, it comes down to the food, and while we kept it simple with A Taco Bar and quesadillas, both were fantastic. We had shrimp and chicken tacos (the taco bar came with all sides including rice, beans and all the fixings for the tacos....lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, onions, pico and sour cream) and steak and chicken quesadillas. We also ordered guacamole and chips. I am happy to say the food was a huge hit. Everyone loved it with big shout outs to the steak quesadillas and their guacamole. We liked it so much we are eager to go eat at the restaurant. Again, I was going to wait until we ate there in person to review, but I will assume it will be just as delicious if not more than when we catered. Really glad we found this place! read more

Ordered the steak and chicken fajitas. Literally got more tortillas than steak and chicken. 4 small pieces of chicken and 3 little pieces of steak. Pathetic for $15. Have ordered here for work twice and both times order is wrong and items were forgotten. Never again. Hard flour tortillas.. dry steak (like jerky)..Dry hard chicken... ric is undercooked. I went here today and it was AMAZING! I had the jibarito sandwich with pork and it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. I loved the flavors and the plantains made the sandwich so unique. We also had the guacamole which was so good and even the French fries tasted awesome. I can't wait to go back. Service was good and they even turned the heat for me when I was cold. I order 2 steak jibaritos. I was really disappointed. The meat was tasteless and hard to cut. It was not crunchy and almost look like it was reheated/not fresh. On top of all that I order for delivery and when I placed the order I asked if it will be here at 12 30pm which is my time of lunch and the girl said yeah it'll be there by then. Sure enough it made it almost by 1pm. I lost my lunch. Had like 5 minutes to eat it all up and the meat was so hard to cut I just ended up throwing it away. Also they charge if you want to pay with a credit card and $5 just for delivery. In conclusion I spent $32 on 2 jibaritos that taste poorly. Don't think I would ever order from here. read more

Love Brother's. They have AMAZING guac, there are times i go just to pick up some and bring it with me to parties. I enjoy the tacos a ton. I am a creature of habit, so I usually just get the tacos. The barbacoa is my favorite. Also a surprising great dish are the steak fries. They are so good, usually it is not something I would try at a Mexican restaurant, but my roommate had them and i could not stop eating off of his plate. I was looking forward to the flan and was completely dissapointed with how bland it was.
