Came here on a summer Sunday with my wife for brunch. We sat in the backyard patio which is comfortable enough, but there's no table umbrellas, which is fine. But you may need to chase the shade depending on what time of day it is, and your sun tolerance. Service was warm and welcoming. She (manager or owner) took our orders for avocado biscuit and breakfast sandwich with roasted potatoes. She even accommodated our indecision between guava and mango Bellinis by combining the two, unasked. It was as lovely, and we definitely felt the champagne. She helpfully suggested the $25 carafe rather than two rounds of drinks for $40 - respect! Everything was delicious. We didn't leave a scrap of food behind. The biscuits were a touch underdone - likely by design to retain a bit of moisture upon reheating we both agreed. We both finished everything so we obviously weren't mad at it. My second visit, her first - looking forward to coming again!

The biscuits did not disappoint. One of the best I've had, definitely up here in the north lol. They were every bit buttery, flaky, and unctuous on their own. They don't travel the best, so try to eat them fresh. The chicken gravy biscuit will not travel well in the paper containers they provide. That said, it was still delicious. It's a trip to get out there for me, but I will make the trip for it.

While looking for a place that had either Matcha lemonade or a lemon poppyseed baked good, I hit the jackpot with Brown Butter. Both items were made well (which is a big deal for me when it comes to Matcha because you can tell when people make it poorly). The service was also great from the people behind the bar. Interestingly they have a bluetooth lock on the bathroom so ring the bell and wait for them to buzz you in (it may take a few minutes). The cafe itself is also very cozy. I would have given this place 5 stars but they have a weird no laptop policy even though they have more than enough room to make a certain section laptop only. To top it off, the manager / owner / leadership person? wasn't too kind in informing the people around me about this rule. If you're tired of laptop customers, try putting a laminated sign on the tables. Outside of that moment, I enjoyed my visit here and would come back again (without my laptop lol).

I came here yesterday and I loved it. First the service was amazing and secondly the food was really great. So we ordered two biscuits sandwiches, roasted potatoes, Arnold Palmer and hot chocolate. So we ordered two biscuit sandwich first one was the breakfast sandwich with sausage egg and cheese, this was great and I'm still thinking about it. The other biscuit we ordered was the one for the month with the chicken and that was really tasty, the chicken was well cooked, flavorful and moist. The sauce they used was very good. The roasted potatoes were well seasoned and flavorful. The Arnold Palmer was good and the hot chocolate as well. I would definitely be back to try other dishes. The service was great the staff was friendly and attentive. The space is nice large enough for multiple people and they also have an outdoor space. There are long wooden tables for a family or friend date.

Very cozy cafe type place. I hade the breakfast combo with chicken sausage. The food was tasty. Place was quiet and comfortable. Coffee was good. The service was okay. Quick and easy no chit chat. This is good place to sit and read a book or people watch.

I came here while in the neighborhood with my sibling. Food: 4/5 I had the Belgian waffles with a side of smoked salmon. The waffles were fresh, moist, and honestly so good. I also tried the buttermilk biscuit with strawberry jam. The strawberry jam tasted fresh, tart and so good! Service: 2/5 Unfortunately the service for me wasn't the best the cashier. She was not knowledgeable about the menu options, debated with me and went back & forth in a very hostile & hurtful way. It made me feel ostracized like did something wrong by wanting to place my order and add a substitute. She then began speaking to other co-workers and they began laughing and snickering. This made me feel like I was being mocked and made to feel uncomfortable which Im HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED with. As THIS WAS MY 2nd time patronizing the establishment. The customer service needs work and I'm unsure if I want to return. As much as I enjoyed my meal. I deserve to feel good when patronizing any business. The owner needs to know this because they could potentially cause them to loose business rapidly. Ambiance: 3/5 Basic cafe vibe with ample seating. Cozy, homey vibe where you can sit and enjoy breakfast or coffee with loved ones or alone.

This spot is located in the Bedstuy neighborhood of Brooklyn. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, with tables out front and a really cute patio in the back. I placed my order at the register and grabbed a seat to wait for my items to come out. While I appreciate that my food was made to order, it did seem to take quite a bit of time for my food and drinks to come out. I ordered the avocado toast and added a fried egg and smoked salmon. I got the mango lemonade to drink. The avocado toast is so good! It's not on your typical bread, but more of a flatbread, which was flaky and delicious. The jam on the toast was flavorful, and both the avocado and salmon were fresh. The lemonade was tasty as well. It may very well be the best avocado toast I've ever had, no exaggeration. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're ever in the area.

I was sadly underwhelmed by my chicken & gravy biscuit! The chicken was well seasoned but the gravy that it was smothered in had no flavor. I was expecting a lot more from it when I saw it. I also thought the biscuit would taste a lot more buttery and flavorful but it tasted very plain. I also ordered a fried egg to go in the biscuit sandwich and instead, I got a scrambled egg that was also underwhelming. I probably won't be coming back here. I did like that they had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and the staff was nice.

Excellent biscuit breakfast sandwich with hot honey, cheese, eggs, and sausage at the same price most delis are charging for regular BECs/SECs. The biscuit was so fluffy with perfectly flaky edges; if I wasn't trying to eat less carbs, I would've ordered more of them on the spot. Extra tidbits: Friendly service; clean restaurant with lots of seating options including inside, back patio, and front patio. Looking forward to trying more of the menu! read more

The Highlights- great neighborhood, outdoor space I was craving avocado toast one Sunday and as my normal spot was closed, I went to Yelp for a recommendation. Brown Butter is on a great block with plenty bars/restaurants and it's quite active on nights and weekends. With all that said, the avocado toast was a disappointment. I specifically sought out a Black-owned business amidst the unrest to support in a direct way today. I usually don't go out to eat during the week but was motivated to take a walk around the neighborhood for my own mental health. I didn't regret it! Luckily, I stopped by before they closed at 2:30pm today (Tuesday). I ordered an almond milk latte (delicious) and breakfast biscuit BEC. Delicious!! Only two customers allowed inside with a mask on at a time. Payment was with card only. Service was friendly and quick! There's a wide and long bench outside the window to enjoy your drink/food. I come here once a week for their biscuit sandwiches and they're always on point. Consistently super flavorful and made fresh. It's a pretty no frills cafe, but they have plenty of seating, including a backyard patio. Expect a line and expect a bit of a wait, especially if you're also ordering coffee. My go-to is the sausage biscuit, but I recently tried the Chicken Sandwich and WOW. So much flavor! I've ordered the crab biscuit before but it's too pricey to make it a habit. I recommend only ordering one sandwich; it doesn't seem like it will be filling but it is! Only order 2 sandwiches if you're super hungry and don't have plans to eat again until dinner. read more

The Biscuits they are super flaky and light. I ordered the egg cheese and jerk chicken sausage and a plain biscuit. The sausage (made by Maroon Sausage) have a nice heat and can also purchased at the cafe to make at home. It's a cute space with great food and outdoor seating. read more

Alright, I'm going to preface that the delivery made it so my food was somewhat cold by the time it got here, but I don't blame the restaurant, as I'm not really that close to them (and honestly I feel DoorDash is regularly showing me restaurants that are way too far away). So with that said, I don't feel I have a super accurate read on the food here because I also didn't want to mess it up by heating it up again. However, even cold, the crab biscuit was pretty tasty - the crab patty had good flavor, the sauce was good, and the texture of the biscuit was especially good. I can definitely tell this place has a lot of potential and would totally be happy to eventually go in person if I'm in the area. Although, if I can make a suggestion, putting some foil or something that would retain the heat on the food would be good if their delivery radius is going to be kind of far! read more

One of the few things, and I mean, very few things, that I miss about living in the south is BIsCUitS. I love biscuits. People who don't love biscuits never had a good one. They are not dry, they are not overly flaky, they don't fall apart until that right moment. Once you've taken a bite, and it gently crumbles into your mouth. They are perfectly salted and not overly buttered, they are not too thin and not too thick. They are just right. And brown butter gets their biscuits juuuuuust right. Dear team at brown butter, I thank whatever chef may be, that provides this heavenly food for me. My favorite is the biscuit with scrambled eggs; I add tomatoes and avocado and it's just perfect. I also get a couple of biscuit, an egg BLTs because basically I will just eat these for 3 Meals straight, maybe once a month. These are the ultimate treat to myself. I have tried the chicken and gravy and while I wanted to love it, I remember not super loving it, but that is OK. Everything else is delicious. Every single time I consider getting six biscuits just for myself, but I know that is a bad idea. I don't even share my order with anyone. I order it first thing on a Saturday, and I spend the rest of the day reading and eating biscuits. These biscuits are the best ones I have found in New York so far after four years. read more

One of my favorite coffee shops in Brooklyn! Luckily they happened to be open around 8 (Tues-Sun) so I was able to grab coffee before work and gosh it was so good. Their brown butter latte with oat milk is so comforting and has the perfect amount of sweetness. I'd come back just for this latte. Their breakfast is also delicious! I got a fluffy buttermilk biscuit with eggs and cheese, much better than most of the biscuits I've had which can get really dry. I was a fan of theirs! read more

I have never been to the location in-person. I have only done Ubereats so I can't speak to the ambiance or in-person services. That's why I am giving 4-stars versus 3-stars. What I can speak to is the phone service and food. The few times that I did call, they were hard to reach. One of the times I called, I was disappointed. They make a chicken sausage. It sounds delish but I haven't tried it because I'm not sure what the sausage skin is made of. By now every restauranteur should be aware of every aspect of the ingredients that they are using. Knowing what the sausage skin is made of is very important. I along with hundreds of others don't eat pork. Sometimes pork casing is used for non-pork sausages. When I called to inquire whether or not that was the case, no one had any idea. Maybe one day, someone will inquire. Hopefully, the casing isn't pork so that I can give it a try. As far as the food I have had: *biscuit with hot honey - OMGEEEE, as I write this I am tempted to place an order. It was so good. The biscuit just right! I think one time I just ordered biscuits. *Brown butter breakfast combo, which included an omelet and toasted potatoes. There was some sausage on the potatoes that was absolutely delicious. * Haitian hot chocolate- seriously, this is the best hot chocolate I've ever tasted. It was so good that I plan on finding a recipe so that I can make my own. One of these days I will actually get there in-person. Hopefully, I will be able to try the chicken sausage. read more

Very light, flaky, lard and brown buttered goodness (seems to be a mix of the two or they're using amazing French or Irish butter...I tried figuring it out) that keeps the biscuits moist and clean tasting sans the browned butter nuttiness, and without any oily heaviness or denseness. Those biscuits were the home to fluffy eggs and our choice of Jerk Chicken sausage. They're two (2) small links so ask for extra. We also had Chicken and Waffles. The boneless chicken thighs are dredged in what's seems to be buttermilk and seasoned flour dredge that includes Mexican oregano, which ALWAYS makes food sing! You can only go in to order or online, no calling. If you needed to customize online, you're severely limited, e.g., intially, we wanted to online order a Chicken & Biscuit sandwich with an egg. Can't request online. It's a Haitian establishment, which is the coffee option and it's delish! They offer Almond & Oat milk and a solid variety of appx. 6 standard syrup flavors (Vanilla, Hazelnut, etc.), if desired. Now, if they could add Coconut milk, it would be perfection. The service is amazing! THEY CARE about getting it right & providing the community with deliciousness! Really wish I could give them 4.5 Stars because their consistency in scrumptiousness & service deserve it! read more

I love to support my people (black businesses) but this is just ridiculous. I gave them three tries and this is a final last straw. There is a long line and you can't see the menu until your at the front which makes no sense. Because you would want people to know what they want when they hit the register. These are common practices. We get to the register and he tells us hey btw we are out of chicken we just ran out. Oh ok it's only 1:30 but sure. So we order something else and a batch of mimosa. Which unfortunately i never got because the barista told me he had too many orders ahead of me to get it. We sat for like 35 -40 mins waiting for biscuits lol. I can't do this place anymore. I value my time too much and i didn't even get my other items. Had to get a refund. read more

Yo I have to be crazy because I had the fried chicken biscuit with gravy & I started crying!!! Backstory: I'm from the South and Texas. I really miss some good southern food and my friends/family back home sometimes. I am very picky about my southern food and sometimes it really don't taste right out here!! Biscuits and gravy is such a southern staple, and I miss it sometimes. I ordered the fried chicken and gravy biscuit delivered to me at home. Let me tell you I sat down at my dining table and I took one bite and started tearing up!!! Why these biscuits remind me of home y'all?! It brought back so many warm memories, these biscuits are the real deal! Those biscuits really tasted like it came straight from the South. It was just that good. Ordered a waffle with bacon and cold brew. Horrible experience with ordering food from Brown Butter unfortunately. Uncooked gooey waffle and looks very unappetizing. Bacon was subpar. I asked for extra syrup and they gave me one, in a small container. Didn't include a straw with my coffee either. All around horrible first experience. read more

Black Owned The the location is freaking adorable and tidy. The food is delicious " My gawd". ( Jayz reference) , its bedstuy .. give me a break . I had the chicken and waffles which is my favorite sunday am cheat. I have also had the biscuit bacon egg and cheese, so yummy . I have had their biscuit with chicken sandwich. Yummy warm buttered Biscuits and chicken won't ever steer you wrong. 1st things first, I love chicken, so this worked out because it was some bomb chicken, so I keep hoping i get an overnight shift so I can come back and get the chicken waffles . I had green tea lemonade and i felt like Beyonce, better than everyone around me . The ladies are nice, cute brunch dolo or with a fran. Get a box of biscuits and ruin your resolution, its too late you already are reading this review so, you clearly gave up. read more

I usually order the bec but today I wanted to try the biscuits and gravy. At first it was really good, good seasoned gravy and fluffy biscuits. Really well seasoned chicken too. But I looked closer and my chicken is all pink :( it really disappointed me bc I always come here and have never had a bad experience. So I believe this is just a one time thing I hope:( just pay more attention to ur chicken I guess it's really dangerous for this to be served to customers read more

Over the weekend I wanted to break from making my own coffee. So I decided to stop in Brown Butter for coffee and to my surprise the place was packed and smelled wonderful. So I ordered a biscuit sandwich and a slice of coconut cake in addition to the coffee. The biscuit was fresh and sooooo good. As a southern the biscuits really hit the spot. The eggs, bacon and cheese were also fresh and prepared well. Thr coffee was excellent also. The only item I wasn't pleased with was the slice of coconut cake. It was pretty dense and lacked flavor. I wouldn't purchase the cake again but I'll be back for the breakfast biscuit sandwich , coffee and great customer service. read more

I am HI KEY mad I am just now experiencing Brown Butter. First off I will say I live in Harlem in it was worth the 1-hour commute on the train to experience these heavenly biscuits. I ordered the Crab Biscuit and the Jerk Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit and both EXCEEDED my expectation to the point I was trying to plan my next trip to BK while in the cafe. I highly encourage you to order ahead as there was a line a couple of times while dining and everything are made fresh to order so please remember patience is a virtue. The staff was kind, the playlist was banging, and the space is kept tidy and clean. read more

I've never met a biscuit I didn't like. But I can say, I LOVE these biscuits. Wow. Where to begin. What to say. How to start. 1) Go here. Go ahead and put your shoes and face mask on. You can read this review while you walk. But just go here. 2) THE BISCUITS. They are so flakey and tender and fresh! $4 gets you a single biscuit. $5 gets you a biscuit with butter and jam. And $6+ gets you a biscuit with alllll the fixins. I'm talking crab cakes to fried chicken to -- my favorite -- a classic BEC. The biscuits are big enough to where one is plenty to fill you up, but you're going to want more than one because they are just THAT good. 3) This is a Black-owned jawn. So go support your local Black-owned businesses! 4) The folks working here are unbelievably nice and welcoming. Super disappointed! I was excited to get the biscuits based off past photos from. Yelp where they appeared to me made from scratch, I even ordered one extra on side just to get what appears to be Pillsbury biscuits. Look at my photos and the other ones and you'll see what I am referring to. I could ignore the wait time and me having to ask for a status update versus just being told it will take a little longer but I can not get pass this biscuit! read more

OMG!!!! It's the BISCUITS!!! I'm so mad I know about this spot....how am I suppose to stop myself from a biscuit drive by??? That damn breakfast biscuit...eggs, cheese, & chicken jerk sausage (idk if they still have that sausage). It was EVERYTHING!!! I am only allowed to have their biscuits 1x a quarter. Passed this spot all the time and yesterday was my first time there... before I start I'm going to give this place another try! I had the SMOKED SALMON TOAST Cream cheese, red onion and capers (TRIED SOMETHING DIFFERENT) it was okay not bad but it's something I wouldn't order again.. the biscuits were amazing with the hot honey that'll probably be my go to! read more

This place has delicious biscuit sandwiches and I will definitely be back for more. They have outdoor seating in the front & a small outdoor space in the back (which was full when I went). They had signs up that said no wifi/laptops which im guessing is covid related? So that was a little bummer but the staff is friendly, service is quick, & they call your name/bring the food to you if you're sitting outside which is convenient. read more

Cute little coffee spot I stumbled across. All I ordered was a latte so I can't give you much of a review. The coffee was just ok. Wish they had more ass in flavors. Guy at the front desk was ok. When you pay they have a tablet and it asks you if you want to tip, I feel like I was being stared down to see if I would lol. Place was ok. Not an overly friendly spot. Attention all biscuit lovers : AHEM THIS PLACE IS THE BISCUIT MECCA OF THE WORLD Thank you for attending my ted talk! But seriously I found this place on IG and finally found my way there. Treated myself to egg bacon biscuit with extra egg and my companion had the blt biscuit with avocado. We drunk blood orange mimosas with extra ice cups! Blueberry Lemon Loaf slice was our dessert. No outdoor seating is available but a small bench is outside if you want to enjoy a breeze while you wait. Thus we walked back to the car to digg in and post pics. I couldn't even get to taking pictures because after unwrapping the aroma transported me back to the days baking biscuits with my mother on sunday morning. I had to take a bite and before i knew what took over me I was done and asking for another biscuit. I was so focused on the biscuit taste that i couldn't focus on the dessert or drink. I was like a zombie running for my meal. So y'all know I went back, I ordered 4 bsicuits to go and another round of blood orange mimosas. The staff provided us new ice cups and extra napkins! Definitely a massive shout out to the 2 women working that day because they are the bomb dot com! This restaurant is only open until 2pm so make sure you are up and ready because this place gets busy fast. Covid facts: 1) All employees wear masks 2) Only 1 set of customers are allowed in at a time. A friend and I met at Brown butter after drooling at the biscuits online one Tuesday afternoon. Ever since I have been dragging friends from all over the city to try this delicious chicken biscuit sandwich. I'm not a fan of chipotle mayo, it is phenomenal even without it.The staff is very friendly and professional. The tablet is cleaned thoroughly after anyone touches it. Masks and gloves on and social distancing is politely enforced. There are s few seats outside (front and backyard area). The brunch drinks, teas, and coffees are also solid. A bit pricey but delicious. My coworker and I had it delivered to our office and it arrived still nice and warm. We tried the breakfast biscuit BLT with egg and avocado. I am not sure if this is a fair review but I arrived close to closing. I did not know the schedule beforehand and I was recommended this place by a friend. In fact she suggested the Haitian hot chocolate. The freshly made hot chocolate was excellent i.e. savory and rich. The kitchen closes an hour before closing but I will be back for food. I liked the space. It had a large communal table and stools for windows gazing. I will be back again soon read more

Be sure to make a reservation, as this spot is popular, especially on a nice weekend. We recently had a weekend brunch at one of the tables outside. Everything on the menu sounded good, but we decided on a couple of their specials. Started with the razor clams, which were cooked perfectly and topped with fresh herbs. We also had the fried soft shell crab sandwich with the side of Caesar salad. The sandwich was well balanced with the crunchy crab and herby aioli. The Caesar was light and refreshing. The fish and chips came with two fried filets of white fish and a basket of classic fries. The fish was lightly battered and flakey. The house made tartar sauce was a good complement to it. I've never had anything like that before, but they were crispy on the outside and nice and tender on the inside. - The raw oysters and ceviche were also very good. My only complaint is that this place is quite expensive, but you do get what you pay for in terms of quality, and the portion size was decent. Our waiter was very friendly, and the ambiance inside was very nice, although it is a little tight.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Brown Butter. When I arrived, there were only a few other customers in the restaurant, so I expected a reasonable wait time. Instead, I sat waiting while multiple families who arrived after me were served their meals before my order was even prepared. After waiting an excessive amount of time, I asked my server, Magaly, for an update. Rather than addressing my concerns professionally, she responded with an attitude and informed me that my meal would take an additional 20 minutes. At that point, after already waiting far too long, I requested a refund because I no longer wished to continue waiting for food I had yet to receive. Magaly stated that she processed the refund, but after checking my account, there is no indication that any refund was issued. As it stands, I appear to have been charged for a meal that I never received. Poor communication, poor customer service, and a complete lack of accountability made this one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had. Waiting is one thing, but being ignored while others are served first, then being given attitude when asking a simple question, is unacceptable. Unless Brown Butter makes this right, I will not be returning. read more

Last time I was here I had a terrible experience. But this time was A LOT better. Came in on a Monday morning for some breakfast and coffee and I was not let down. The espresso I had was perfect and I was able to get some reading done since it wasn't packed like last time. Maybe their weekends are much busier than the weekdays. I'm glad I was able to give this place a second chance. My waffles was really tasty too. The service was pretty good this time around and she even brought me some water since I was sitting in the back which was nice. They should think about putting a water station in the back as well because I hated walking to the front for water if I'm sitting at a back table. Overall, I'm glad I gave this place a second try. read more

My experiences here get better and better 11/10. the new boss/chef is knowledgeable and charming, his new menu additions really elevate the experience. this felt like a little cafe before. now it feels on the verge of a gastropub/bistro. Chili oil made with wagyu beef fat and black garlic? YES PLEASE. the service has gotten considerably better. the staff is engaged and personable under the managers lead. he's got us laughing, he's got them laughing, it's a win win. the music is better but the place still lacks a vibe. it needs a little something, but I've been told a refresh is coming. This place is really coming along. read more

I was looking forward to good food when coming here but it was anything but. I arrived earlier at around 2pm for a light lunch, it was way too full inside and super noisy, I couldn't even get a waiters attention for some 20 minutes or so. The avocado toast I tried was nothing more than processed low quality guac which didn't impress me one bit. I don't know why these guys specialize in breakfast and brunch foods but won't put in the effort to make these foods appeasing. read more

I always stop here around voting time because my early voting site is near by. The biscuit sandwich was mediocre this time around, barely hot. Which is weird bc I came early in the day. The chicken sausage however is still delicious. Fresh and tasty, I can taste all the ingredients which I love. read more

Friendly staff and affordable coffee. Wanted an iced latte but they didn't have ice at the time I went. But their regular lattes still turned out pretty tasty! Tried out the caffeine-free drink, and it was tasty and creamy. Will definitely come back here! read more
