As this eatery was easy walking distance from our hotel, my daughter & I decided to dine here on Saturday night. We arrived around 5:45 as we had tickets to the Alice in Wonderland ballet for 8 p.m. The only available seating without an hour estimated wait was at the bar so we reluctantly opted for that. This venue was very loud, we struggled to have conversation where we could hear each other despite sitting side by side. The bar staff took our drink order and appetizer order in a timely manner (Soft Pretzels), but my drink was still not delivered until halfway through our dinner meal and only once our bar server finally reappeared in the forgotten end of bar nook we were seated in. The pretzels appetizer was tasty. My daughter ordered a burger & it was really good and I ordered a salad that was seriously the best salad I've ever had. It was huge (should've ordered the smaller version), full of delicious ingredients, and the dressing was great and well mixed in throughout the entire salad. I'll have to browse back on their full menu to get the name of this salad. We had informed the bar server of our event at 8 upon being seated, saying we would be ordering on the lite side as we needed to get to our event on time. We sat...& sat...& sat forever after finishing our meals and our bar server was missing in action leaving one man to attempt juggling food and drink orders and delivery to the entire very long bar full of guests and we were on the angled end truly invisible. I finally had to leave my seat and walk to the middle front of the bar to get his attention telling him our server had seemingly disappeared but we urgently needed our bill so we could pay & leave. We stopped by after our nephews' graduation for a quick bite. I thought it was just another burger "joint," but this establishment was a very pleasant surprise. I had the Gorgonberry Pecan salad that was delicious, but just about everyone else had some incarnation of a hamburger. No exaggeration,at least half of the people said it was the BEST burger they ever tasted. The burgers looked to be individually formed and perfectly cooked juicy. The Black and Bleu Bison burger is on point. At my request, it was cooked to a perfect medium. The fries were hot, rustic and crispy. There is a good selection of microbrews on tap. One slight negative: Please quit touting your "house ketchup". It's a concoction that is way too sweet, fruity and has a weird aftertaste. First timer here! Upon walking in, we waited to be seated. However, no one came to assist us. We sat ourselves at the bar. Bar tender was fantastic and assisted us right away in a timely manner. I came here on a Saturday night and was able to get a table without having to wait too long. I ordered the Pear Cosmo and WOW! It was delicious! Very smooth but strong at the same time. Highly recommend it. For my entrée I got the "The End" burger and it was delicious. I got fries as well and was pleasantly surprised as they were pretty good! This restaurant is situated in a prime location just on the corner, opposite the Arnoff. So if you are going to see Play or ballet, it's a perfect place to eat before or after the event. Came in here for a quick lunch! Sat at the bar and ordered food! I had pretty quick service since I was in a bit of a hurry. I ordered the three cheese garlic burger, my burger was pretty good but nothing spectacular! I ordered my burger medium and it was cooked perfectly medium! My fries however were a bit over fried so they became a bit hard, however with the chili that was on the fries I was still able to eat my fries up for the most part. I'd probably be back to try other burgers in the future, it seemed like they had some unique creations on the menu. read more

I started out with the BRU Board which was really fantastic. I followed that up with a small cobb salad... which I thought but it was actually bigger than I expected. That was enough food but I couldn't pass up this Hamburger that I ordered. I went with the Double Bacon Burger with an egg and LAWD HAB MERCY! This burger was out of this world. Who doesn't like bacon and eggs on top of a burger... its almost like you get breakfast lunch and dinner all at the same time. I am not in Cincinnati that often but I highly recommend this place. Delicious burgers with even-better fries. Definitely a place to go if you're wanting an in-and-out "craft" burger joint that doesn't feel overly fancy. They have some space and pricing issues, but despite my complaints, the burgers here are worth it, and I already find myself wanting to come back. Craving to come back, really. Note to Myself: I really, really, really love the Garlic-Three Cheese burger. If you're fond of cheese, it's deliciously gooey, and I had to beg my tablemate to take it away from me before I overate. Because there was very little self-control involved when it came to this burger. PROS: -Delicious, delicious, delicious burgers. Cooked exactly to order, very satisfying, and pretty filling. If you're not going for "completely satiated" status, you could probably get away with just eating a burger here with no sides. -I really, really loved all of their Aiolis. Some of their burgers come with some - and their dipping sauce for their french fries was also luscious AF. Their house-made ketchup is very, very strongly on the sweet side, so eater be aware. -Variety of seating options. Their high-top tables and chairs have lots of places to stick your feeties, so they're surprisingly comfortable (even for this big butt). They also have bar seating and low-top tables. The low-top tables have nice wooden chairs, but they do slide around a lot on the vinyl flooring (could be a benefit or problem depending on what you're into). -Very attentive staff. When they were dead, our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and ended up talking with us about a lot of things (including our food options). We felt very cared for. The next time we came back, and they were slammed, our waiter still checked in on us regularly, but it was definitely an efficiency-check. Ended up with warm food and prompt service both times though. CONS: -Prices are high. They do NOT include sides with their burgers, so the price you're seeing for the burgers is just for the burger itself. Every time I've been here, the staff have always told me ahead of time, though, so they're not trying to fleece you. We found that it worked great to get two burgers and share an Appetizer-size of BRU fries, though. We never managed to finish all of the food between the two of us. -If you're someone who likes to balance your unhealthy burger with a side salad, though, be aware they DO NOT offer that here. They will let you pay for a side of fries, but if you want a salad, you must get a near-full-size $9 salad as a side. -Tables end up feeling a bit crowded and close to one another. Almost every table is located near a walkway, and you get a lot of people walking/scurring by (usually wait-staff). This is not the place to go if you want a feeling of privacy. -Seating here is absolutely terrifying near a show/performance at the Contemporary Arts Center. Absolutely terrifying, and they're apparently smarter than me and make reservations. People were being quoted a 1.5 hour wait for a table. We ended up putting in our name and walking around to see if we could find anywhere else, but everywhere in a three-block radius was that slammed. They ended up seating us in 45 minutes, in the end, but still, be careful on event nights. We thought 5:30-ish would beat the pre-dinner crowd, but we were very, very wrong. Staff handled it all well though - even with people trying to wait for their table while standing inches from current customers just trying to eat. -Speaking of, I imagine that's a regular problem with the Arts Center nearby, so it's a bit weird that BRU doesn't have any waiting area space. There's the front entry way with a two-person bench, and that's about it. Beyond that, you'll be standing in someone else's eating zone. -BRU Burger Bar is located underneath a parking garage. That means it stays relatively chilly during the winter. Staff had lots of space heaters going around to try to combat it, but still, there's a limit to what you can do when everything around your building is leaking air. Plan to wear your warm clothes while indoors or ask for a table near a heater. read more

It's fine burger establishment. It was good, but nothing rave-worthy. Has a decent selection of burgers and other odds-and-ends, and a nice drink menu. I ordered the spicy margarita that had just the perfect amount of kick to it. Service in Cincinnati is really lacking. The place had maybe 4 other tables and it took over 15 minutes to get waters to our table. That's after waiting nearly 10 for a waitress to even stop by, so we ordered everything at once. One of us ordered a chili as an appetizer, but it came out with the meal. We didn't even see the waitress for a while to ask about it till food arrived. After that she only came back to see if we wanted our bill. Normally we're at least asked 'how's everything tasting.' I like that you can customize your burger with beef, lamb, bbq or just veggies. Chicken as shown was over fried. My son got the pretzel appertizer and they were giant. Prices are moderate. This place is ok. I had a burger and some onion rings. The burger was decent but not the "burger" I was expecting. The one I ordered came with a cheese I was unfamiliar with - at least the name. I asked my waitress and she said it was a soft cheese. It was cream cheese with a fancy name. You know how aioli is just mayonnaise with garlic, that's what this is like. For the record, cream cheese, or fancy name derivatives, don't belong on a burger. It was not a good pairing. The onion rings were tasty, but more breading than onion. I got saturated with the taste after eating a couple. Ketchup btw is rationed. You get a small side cup and have to ask for more if you need it. My waitress could have paid a little lore attention to my table. She responded when I flagged her down but never came by and asked how things were going. Maybe the four stars is generous.
